Exporting 16x9 for web

Hello all,
I know the issue for getting 16x9 into iDVD to show up correctly using anamorphic etc..
but what about for web?
I am getting black bars on sides not top and bottom. I would like bars to be on top and bottom OR no bars but 16x9 size.
Do I just export some sizes that are 16x9 in settings window and that's it?
I don't know when to select "crop" or "fit".
Tanks,
Al

Ok ,
your right - like I would ever doubt it... For some reason it doesn't look pixelated even though it is bigger than its native 720- I don't understand that!
When I export to smaller proportions of 16x9 I get bars on right and left and not in proportion of 16x9?
Do the measurements have to be exact ?
I need 2 exports of it - one about half the size of the 853 and one about 1/3.
Thanks,
Al

  • Exporting files for web and print at the same time.

been searching a while now and no joy with an answer.
So I want to know 2 things.
Is there an option on LR to export 2 different extensions at once?
So a JPG at say 5mb and one at 500k?
Also would I 'resize to' 1024x768 if I was going to use for web?
    Hope you can help.
    Thanks.

It is possible to pick a desired file size that is too small for the image's pixel dimensions. Where that line is drawn will depend on the individual image.
Normally if you are picking a max file size, you are also resizing the file to be smaller, like your 1024x768 example above. This size would easily be under 500 kb.

  • Indesign 2014 exporting pdf for web large fiel size

I am exporting an Indesign 2014 file to pdf print for web. I have tried smallest file size, Acrobat 4 & 5 and also selected transparency flattener when exporting pdf. File comes out to 12MB either way. I have gone into Adobe pdf and optimized the pdf and comes out around 11MB. The Indesign file has some small photoshop images also layered vector AI file. I have flattened the AI file and placed that image in Indesign but file is still large. With the AI file I have exported it as a jpeg and placed that in Indesign and file comes out fine for web under 1 MB. Checking with the group if there is a way that Indesign can export the AI file without replacing it as a jpeg.

    Checking with the group?
The best and most logical way would be to export a PDF from the AI and place that one, so ID just needs to copy. ID is not an AI-to-PDF converter.

  • Exporting pix for web  - how to save in 72ppi?

I'm wanting to save versions as small jpegs at web resolution, 72 ppi. I've created a custom export present for the photos at the size I want, but there seems to be no way to control what resolution the file is written at. I must be missing something here, but I don't know what. There's nothing in the Getting Started manual about this.

  • Export Compression for Web Use

    Hi All
I've been through the forum and seen a lot of posts on the "art" of compressing files for use and transfer on the web while wanting to maintain quality.
I understand that it requires some tweaking of the frame size, the frame rate, and the data rate to get the optimum file size versers quality.
I've moved from iMove where export was simple(tho files were large) to FCE and I'm finding that the learning curve is very steep.
I've recently seen a video on Vimeo http://vimeo.com/10022953 which is stunning quality and only 36.5 MB with a frame size of 1280 x 720. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea how he may have achieved this. The Codecs that he has used are AAC, H.264, MPEG-4 ODSM, MPEG-4 SDSM. I'm wondering if it may be necessary to use another compressing software to convert the exported full size QuickTime movie file to a quality file such as this.
    Any ideas???

    Hi All
While waiting for comments to my question I contacted the producer to the video that I referred to above. When in doubt go to the source.
    His reply is…
"I use the setting in Quicktime X, go to: File - Save As and in format select 1080p. Easy as pie"
So I gave it a shot and I managed to get an awesome quality video at a greatly reduced file size, similar to what he had. I also discovered a powerful tool in Quicktime X : File > Save for web. This gives other great sizes and extra files and code for hosting on your own servers.
If anyone has any other ideas I'd love to hear but this has fixed me for the moment

  • Export settings for Web and Television

I am looking to Export a 30sec ad that will be posted on a website, and shown on TV in California. I have FC 5.0.4
What export settings do I use? Countdown? Bars and Tones?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

For web, I would recommend using H.264. The Web Download 800 kbps preset in Compressor, or the Broadband High preset in QuickTime would be a good choice.
As for delivering video for TV, I would recommend contacting the TV Network which will broadcast your video, and ask them about their broadcast requirements.
    Good luck!

  • 16x9 for Web

I have just started fooling around with 16x9.
I have been able to edit, export and Burn DVD no problem everything (after getting the setting s correct) works.
Now I want to export to a quicktime file for the Web (in 16x9).
The movie is 9 minutes long, has some HD livetype clips, etc....
Every setting I have tried so far the file is massive (over 300 mB,
Would like to get under a 100.
    Help
Also Compressor locks up when I try this.

    My favorite way --
    In FCP...
File - Export - QTCOnversion... then select BROADBAND HIGH from the default (recent) pulldown and then hit OPTIONS... change SIZE to 480x270
    EXPORT.
Will look like this - and be about 4 megs a minute:

  • Exporting video for web

I'm needing to export a 1 minute 20 second clip for use on a client's web site and I was wondering what the best export settings were for this. The client just said, "I want the highest quality with the most compatibility." What would be my best options here?

Wow -- we get this here a lot. Use the forum search for your exact title and you'll get a bunch of replies.
I like File - Export - Quicktime Conversion - Change Default to BROADBAND HIGH and use the OPTIONS button to change the SIZE if you are dealing with 16:9 footage. I like 480x270 for that.
    Anyway - good luck,

  • FCE Export settings for Web content

I'm about to help a friend make a how-to video for the web. I have not shot it yet and I've never made anything for the web before so I wanted to verify the correct settings before I start. I will be shooting with a Canon HV30 in HD 30 fps. What easy setup and export settings will allow the footage to retain quality when exporting / uploading to the web? Do I need a separate compressor? Thanks.

The Easy Setup should always match the format of the footage you shot, as should the Sequence setting. The Canon shoots HDV, so [you need to read this first|http://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/professionalformatsandworkf lows/#chapter=2%26section=0].
With the correct settings make the best quality master file that the material will allow. This file can then be used for a variety of delivery formats, should you choose to show it in places other than on the web.
To make your web video, use a H264 web preset in Compressor. If you need to deliver a Flash file for the web, rename the H264 movie's file extension to .flv -in most cases it will work fine.

  • Modifying Advance CSV export options for Web Intelligence

When we download a Webi report as a CSV(witha dvance options)
In the CSV download advanced options -- We have options for specifying the 'Text Qualifier which is ( " and ' ) and Delimiter (, and ; and tab)
I would like a 'none' option for the 'Text Qualifier' i.e the output columns of the csv should not be enclosed by single or double quotes....
Any suggesstions as to where I can modify this.

    1. have you created any hierarchy in the universe ? after creating required hierarchy, in the webi report you need to enable drill mode.
    2. you can use opendocument url with sReportName parameter. Please check this doc for details: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir3/en/xi3-1_url_reporting_opendocument_en.pdf
But for this you need to export the report to InfoView.

  • Best exporting setting for web

What will be the best exporting setting from FILE>EXPORT> to share a HD projet on the web.
    Jean

    Convert it to h.264.
    Try this:
File - Export - QT Conversion...
Make sure QT movie is selected and where it says default... change it to Broadband High.
Then go into the OPTIONS button and change the size to reflect the 16:9 aspect ratio...
That will give you the quality you want I'm sure.
As for # megs... well -- try a smaller SIZE option and then force it 2x or 1.5x from your web page.
    Good luck,

  • A possibly dumb question re exporting clip for web use

    Hi,
I've been experimenting with diff resolutions etc for exporting a clip intended to be added to a web page. Diff levels of mpeg compression, etc.
I'm most impressed with the quality of H264, the video codec for the video ipod. I play it in a quicktime player just fine & it looks great. Its a choice in FCP HD 4.5
The question is, can I make a little clip in H264 & put it on the web? Will web browsers with plug-ins set up to play quicktime files be able to play it? are there any compatibility issues? Windows browsers? etc?
    Thanks
    Duane

Yes, they are playable on the web. They were able to do that before the video iPod came along, so that was their original intent.
For others to see it they need to have QT7, and unfortunately many PCs cannot see videos in this format.

  • Export Settings for Web/PC from PAL

    Hi
I primarily work in producing video for playback on a PC or Web; usually from PAL SD and Widescreen.
Therefore I mostly try to export to Progressive 4:3 standards but crop the source to 4:3 so that I can resize the video to standard ‘square’ dimensions (320x240, 480x360, etc).
I normally choose the H.264 - YouTube SD preset. Change to PAL standard (which resets the frame sizes for some reason), crop to 4:3 and change the frame size back to 640 x 480. I just leave all the other settings as default and export.
However with CS5s new preset for Vimeo I noticed that it sets the Aspect Ratio to 1:1 – Square Pixels; while the YouTube preset keeps it at 4:3. I never noticed this before as the exports always looked correct.
Which is right, have I been doing this wrong all this time? What is the ‘best’ procedure to export from PAL video to PC and web video?
Thanks in advance of any replies.

    Hi Harm
Sorry to open this thread again but I'm still having problems.
I reinstalled Premiere Pro/Media Encoder and tried downsizing to computer dimensions (320x240 - square), but I'm still getting borders.
I have attached a screen shot showing my settings and the video output, which includes the black borders.
The only reliable way of getting rid of the borders is to crop (4:3) on the source tab which obviously loses a small about of pixels from the left and right.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

  • CS4: Best export settings for web delivery?

    Greetings, all!
I recently upgraded to working with HDV footage in CS4 from working with SD footage in Elements 3, and have been struggling a bit with getting the best quality export from CS4/AME for delivery over the web.
I'm most concerned with exporting a best quality master that I can then transcode to m4v, flv, etc.  So far, the best luck I've had is with a H.264 .mp4 export, but it's still not as clean as I'd like to see.  I've also read that exporting as a Quicktime animation provides excellent results, but I'm having issues with Quicktime on my new PC (error -43 file missing, for one thing) and I've read a bunch of posts here that advise staying away from QT whenever possible.  I'm working mostly with NTSC HDV 1440x1080 60i footage from a Canon XH-A1s, with some NTSC HD 1920x1080 30p and 24p footage from a Canon T2i thrown in sometimes.  I don't mind shrinking my export down to 1280x720, but for my master I really want the cleanest possible video.
Any tips would really be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Anybody have any tips???
Here are the specs I have been using so far.
    Format: H.264
    NTSC, 1280x720, 29.97 [fps], Progressive
    AAC, 128 [kbps], 44.1khz, Stero
VBR, 2 Pass, Target 6.00, Max 8.00 [mbps]
    Widescreen 16:9
    Profile: high
    Level: 5.1
What I get is a file that's about 250megs for a 5-minute video that looks pretty clean.  What I'm really looking for is more like a 2.5gig file that's super clean.  Back when I was shooting SD, I would export an .avi file as my master that would run about 1gig or so for a 5-minute file.  I'm looking for a similar workflow now that I'm working in HD.
    Any ideas?

  • Help! Best SD export settings for web CS4

Hello and thank you in advance for your help. I'm a newbie here and have read through many posts on exporting and found some good information here for creating a master http://forums.adobe.com/message/3005601.  But, I am searching for export settings to send a 3:30 min. video to a client to upload to a website and you tube that is high resolution but not too huge of a file.  I am looking for setting others have used to create this.
This is a SD tutorial video with a combination of .psd and .jpeg stills and graphics in After Effects compositions mixed in video footage.  There are a lot of cross-dissolve transitions and I am getting pixelization with the settings below.  It is a start, but I hope to get a smoother video for the web at 320x240 and 720x480.  Any suggestions on aspect ratio, file format and settings would be appreciated.  The original video is 720x480.
    Format: H.264
    NTSC, 720x480, 29.97 [fps], Progressive
AAC, 128 [kbps], 44.1khz, Stereo, Frequencey
    Field Order: lower
    Pixel aspect ratio: square pixels
    Profile: high
    Level: 3.1
VBR, 2 Pass, Target 6.00, Max 8.00 [mbps]
    Widescreen 16:9
Thank you!! I need to get this project out today, so any help is very appreciated!

You could go that way, looks very nice.
I tried it but still not able to get it in my website.
Taking the save route is by Premiere.
