Exporting 16X9 Problems

Hi Folks,
I'm trying to export my 24p 16x9 project, and it is coming out as a 4x3 video. I go File>Export>Quicktime Movie>Settings>Custom, set everything for 16x9 widescreen and no luck.
Is there something I am doing wrong? I set the project up under Easy Setup and preview and editing looks fine.
Thanks for any ideas.
Chris

Go to Export>Using Quicktime Conversion...
at the bottom you have Format: QT Movie - Options
click on Options...
go to Size and from the Dimensions list choose Custom and enter 1024 x 576 into the spaces there.
leave Preserve aspect ratio using: and Deinterlace Source Video unchecked.
click OK and there you go...
Obviously, 1024 by 576 is for standard def 16:9... if your final delivery is for the web, or something, you will have different (smaller) values, but with the same ratio... but it is here that you enter those values.

  • Exporting 16x9 video

I have imported footage shot in 16x9 format and have tried to export it from FCE but have only been successful one time. I read the other posts and the link to http://www.fcpbook.com/Video8.html and http://www.fcpbook.com/Video9.html but I cannot duplicate the one 16x9 Quicktime Movie I created. I purchased Quicktime Pro so I could adjust the video scaling as mentioned in Video 9, but it still isn't working.
Here is a step-by-step account of what I've tried:
    1) Export movie using Quicktime Conversion
    2) Selecting Options and Size, modifying it to Manual 853x480
    3) When I open it in Quicktime Player Pro, it is still letterboxed, so I choose Show Movie Properties, Select the Video Track and turn off the preserve aspect ratio (the Scaled Size is already 853x480) the red close window button becomes solid as if waiting for a save dialog button to be pressed, but there is not one and so I close out the properties window and the video is still letterboxed.
I greatly appreciate any assistance. My sister is anxiously awaiting her wedding video and I am frustrated at the effort it is taking in FCE to do this when iMovie HD handles 16x9 without problem (but not more than one video track!).
    Thanks.

Sounds like you didn't make a new sequence after you changed the easy setup and edited in the original 4:3 sequence.
You can make a new 16:9 sequence and copy and paste the material from the old sequence to the new. The clips will however be distorted. You'll have to remove the distortion from the Edit menu. Other things like graphics and stills may have to be fixed as well.

  • CRM 7.0 EHP3 Installation Export CD problem

    Dear all,
we are installing SAP CRM 7.0 EHP3 on MSSQL 2012.
We do encounter a problem with the installation Export CD.
    SWPM is SWPM10SP05_2-20009707.SAR - SP5 PL 2, Kernel is 741 (Material Number: 51048107_8).
Installation Export Material Number are respectively 51047869_2 and 51047869_3.
When asked for Installation Export CD, we input the right path, but SWPM tells us that he is expecting another CD:
You entered: E:\CD SAP\EXPORT\DATA_UNITS\EXP1 Found the label SAP:CRM:SR170EHP3:EXPORT(1/4):SAP CRM 700 EHP 3 SR1 Installation Export CD 1/4:CDxxxxxxx_1 but need the label SAP:CRM:70EHP3:EXPORT(1/4):*:*
It seems that he asks for an older version of the Export CD.
Has anyone already had this issue and can advice how to solve it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Andrea Visentin

    Dear all,
    ok, I'll answer myself:
as per note 1998693 - Sapinst Error: Found the label SAP:UT:SR1740:SP05:*:* but need the label SAP:UT:740 for a similar "issue" we had installing Process Integration today, we have just realized that there is a specific section in SWPM for SR1:
sorry for having bothered you with such a silly question :-)
    Kind regards,
PS: changing LABEL.ASC CD-Label to non-SR1 package, works.

  • Premiere CS4 to Encore CS4 Export  Quality Problems

I recently purchased a non-linear editing machine with an RTX2 Matrox Card and CS4 Professional. After six or seven projects, I finally noticed that all my imported .avi files exported through Adobe Media Encoder and burned through Encore CS4 are not as crisp, sharp, or look like the original high quality SD footage after the DVD is burned like it always used to look in CS2. ( jumped from CS2 to CS4)
These DVDs were of plays, football, and basketball games. It seems that when the camera shoots a close up, the video looks fine but after you shoot from a distance, there is a considerable difference in the footage. ( alomost blurry) I just caught this and nobody has complained but I watched one of my older DVDs I produced with CS2 and it had no quality loss whatsoever. There is a night and day difference
For the sequences, I am using Matrox SD, NTSC, Standard, 720 x 486  and capturing with firewire through the Matrox card. The raw footage is beautiful. The Video Preview Option is NTSC Standard and the Codec is NTSC Matrox DV/DV Cam.
I can playback a timeline from the Matrox card and burn directly to a DVD burner and the footage is perfect, but when I export, I have chosen Microsoft .avi file, Matrox DV/DV Cam/ MPEG2, and MPEG2DVD.
I have even changed the sequences codec to Matrox MPEG-2 I-Frame and tried exporting using that out of Adobe Media Encoder and am getting the same results.
None of my customers have complained yet, but I definitely do not want to continue producing almost blurry DVDs.
I am using Adobe Premiere CS4 Version 4.1.0 and Encore CS4 Version 4.0.1.048 and Matrox Version 4.1.0.23
Can this problem be related to and eliminated by updating my CS4 Production Suite and my Matrox Software.
I was wondering if anyone had experienced this same issue and what solution they came up with or if anyone knew if the updates would correct this important issue. I just filmed a lengthy play that I have to author through Encore CS4 and I cannot release any more of my productions until this problem is solved. This is a big dollar production and I need some assistance on this matter as soon as possible. Thanks  Jimi White

Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I just purchased my non-linear with CS4 Production Suite and the Matrox RTX2. I have several projects that I am working on right now and I was advised by Adobe, Matrox, and my non-linear vendor, 1 Beyond, to finish those projects before performing updates.
I also found out that If I export using the MPEG2  8Mbps, it cleared up the video dramatically. We had to go through a number of export presets in order to find out what worked best in Encore. I am going to try to finish the project now and will advise on the results.
This is a basketball highlight DVD and that's when I noticed the problem. My other productions were photos to music, and non sporting events and I didn't notice any problems with those DVDs ( they actually looked decent. Worst part about it was, I finished the project once and burned 18 DVDs, and then reviewed one of them and found the problem. I have to start over and just eat the DVDs printed and all.
Thanks again, it was nice of you to get back to me.
    Jimi

  • Final Cut Pro X Export Speed Problems

I'm having problems getting any real processor speed out of my Final Cut Pro X exports. Whether I do a direct native Pro Res export straight from FCPX or send to compressor with the same settings, or even change them to H.264 or something else, i more often get processing that looks like the included picture, barely one processor being tapped. Sometimes ill get 50 percent which is probably all direct export is meant to use, seems like Qmaster distributed processing still doesn't work here. Once i get the file out and then bring that into Compressor 4 I get no issues, can get 50 percent with regular submit and full speed all cores running with Quickcluster submit. Any ideas why this is happening?
Just to be clear, these are native ProRes HQ clips, no effects, nothing, just selects I'm trying output, and since we can't do reference clips anymore, well....

TThe most common cause of this problem is that the media hasn't been imported properly and is still referencing a camera card or archive. If you press Cmd-E and no dialog appears, this can be one cause.
BTw, this is primarily a user to user forum, so no one here really cares if you go and use Premiere.

  • Exporting text problem

When I use the article panel to export to epub the first page text exports fine, but when I create additional articles and select any text from any pages after that it always places the first page text in again. The text is linked from page to page so is there a setting which will allow me to drag text from a new page and it not being exported as only the the text in page 1. Just so I'm clear example is
text box on page 1 reads
Going green is no longer a trend, it’s a lifestyle. We are consuming less, but we are reading labels more, and we’re much more aware of making our purchases count. We’re also factoring in a value differential that encompasses fair trade, sustainability, and giving back (corporate social responsibility programs).
When it comes to beauty, not only are organic and natural products healthy, they are stylish, sophisticated, and luxurious, and they really work. The granola-crunchy days of green beauty are gone. The question now becomes: “Why wouldn’t I use them?” As consumers eat healthier foods and embrace more sustainable lifestyles, it’s inevitable that they are drawn to natural and organic beauty, because they are thinking, big-picture, in terms of what is safest and healthiest to put in and on their bodies.
text box on page two reads
On a global scale, consumers are beginning to connect the dots, think about their beauty products, and ask, “What is that washing down my drain, and how does that impact my health and the health of the environment?” When we apply moisturizer—if the molecule is small enough—it penetrates through the skin and directly into the bloodstream. In fact, penetrability has been a selling point in the industry for years.
When  create a new article and drag the text on page 2 I instead end up with the text repeated from page one.
    Follow?
    Any help?
    R

OK after doing some experimenting I have narrowed this problem down to the following.
If I just export an .indd file as an epub I get ALL content but obviously not in the correct order.
It's when I use the articles panel and THEN export is when threaded text does not export right.
For instance, if I have 3 pages with images, graphics and threaded text I would select the text box and drag the first text box to the articles panel. It will drag the proper amount of text that is displayed within the box. But when I go to select the second or third textbox ( which is threaded from the previous page) it copies the same text from the first box, NOT THE CONTINUATION.
I have tried this with other .indd files to see if it was confined to onefile  but this happens with ALL my .indd files that ghave threaded text. So the problem lies within using the articles panel and exporting threaded text to an e pub file.
Below is a link to a .zip file which has a 3 page .indd files that I used to try this.
Link to a 3 page sample is here
    http://tinyurl.com/dxbcf48
This is very odd to me as this cannot be as I'm sure there has to be a preference or something I'm doing wrong.
    Thanks for looking into this.

  • Custom book export resolution problem in PDF - only 150DPI!?

I've been using the custom book option and when it came to exporting my PDF I have run into a problem involving the undocumented output resolution of a PDF at a given size. The custom book dialog allows you to create a book with a certain size in inches, but this really has no real meaning since the resolution of that output cannot also be specified in either the layout option or the print dialog. For example is it 150dpi or 300dpi? From some investigation it appears to be locked at 150DPI.
Now I would have thought that Aperture was intelligent enough to just treat the album layout (this is my assumption) as some kind of smart object, where the layout is resolution independent and the final output resolution can be determined when printing to a printer or PDF. In that case the dialog for the setup of the custom size is correct. However, there is no option that I can see in the print dialog to actually specify the output resolution; Aperture is left to its own devices to specify an output resolution, which is undocumented.
I use a printer that accepts JPG or TIF files and I need 300dpi for an album size of 10x13 inches. This equates to 3900x3000 pixels per page. I am able to export to PDF in the print dialog and then used an automator action to export each page of the PDF as JPG and reimported back into Aperture 2 in the same action. In the PDF>JPG conversion option there is the ability to set the DPI to 300. That works fine and the resulting JPG images show as 300dpi (3900x3000px). When looking at the images though they look a little soft, which leads me to believe that my action was simply interpolating a 150dpi image in the PDF into 300dpi.
So to test this, I noticed that if I exported just one page of the album as a PDF and opened the PDF in Preview it does indeed tell you that it is 13x10 inches (no mention of the pixel resolution though). So, you can actually reimport a single page PDF into Aperture and if you do this it appears that the actual resolution is 1950x1500 and that equates to 150dpi for a 13x10 inch layout.
So there are two things that could possibly be going on here:
    1. The actual layout of the album is locked at 150DPI and the save to PDF simply takes that and exports a PDF at that resolution.
    2. The layout of the album is resolution independent, the size of the album (in the custom dialog) simply controls the aspect of the page layout, and the print dialog (save to PDF) is exporting as 150DPI as default. When I run my automator action (these are the Leopard PDF actions), the save each page to JPG action is up-res'ing the image to 300dpi.
This is where I need help. Is 1 or 2 (or something else?) happening. Also, does the PDF save as JPG12? That too is undocumented.
If number 1 is happening I may have to set my album size to 26x20inches to get a 10x13 inch page at 300dpi.
If number 2 is happening I need to find a PDF/TIFF/JPEG print driver to enable me to export at 300dpi as the print dialog in not standard (and we don't get the nice 'save as' drop down where we could do other things. So far my search has led me to CUPS-PDF, but that still doesn't allow for resolution to be set: http://www.codepoetry.net/projects/cups-pdf-for-mosx
Why can't Apple just figure this thing out correctly and allow the resolution to be specified by the user - what an oversight given all of the feedback requests for the custom album tool. We need 300dpi as a minimum as we can always down-res if we want.
Any ideas? I've got albums to send to clients! Help!
    Thanks

When you import any PDF into Aperture, I think it rasterizes any PDF you import to a 150dpi flat image on import, even if it was a high res PDF to begin with. But theres the thing, PDFs don't have dpi (as such). Any shapes or text is a vector so don't have a DPI as they'll scale when printed. The images use their DPI when they were imported from the program that created the PDF.
So I did a quick test and put a page I made from Aperture in to Acrobat and ran a preflight check on all images to check the resolution. It came back at 349.956 ppi, so this example was over 350dpi.
    I've attached the screenshot

  • Reg: importing/exporting repositories problem

    Hi all,
I done all the exports from development in below vice versa:
    from topology:
    export master repository
    export topology
    export logical topology
    export execution environment
    from security
    export security settings
    from designer
    export work repository
all are in .zip file formats only.
i created 2 new schams in production db like impmaster for master repository and impwork for work repository
    then next
i created one new login name example produtionmastr
1)after that i imported master repository from import master repository winzard.
    2)it imported sucess fully i got all technologies,physical servers,physical schems,logical schemas,agents,contexts also.
3)next i tried to import topology, logical topology and execution environment it takes time but nothing will be impoted. (my quwstion is what is the reason for we
again import topology logical topology again, when the time import master repository only we are getting all the things in topology.then what is use for this options.)
4)next think i created one work repository in topology manager with different id from development
5)i created login name for work repository and i login to designer.
    6) i imported work repository from zip file using synonym insert mode. imported success.
7)i changed all the physical paths in physical data servers. every thing fine.

10)my doubt can i need to update all the repository names in odiparams.bat file
11)or we can reuse the one agent to all repositories why because in 11g we are giving all reps names in odiparams.bat file.
    please share your solutions
    Regards,

3)next i tried to import topology, logical topology and execution environment it takes time but nothing will be imported. (my quwstion is what is the reason for we
again import topology logical topology again, when the time import master repository only we are getting all the things in topology.then what is use for this options.)
Ideally i would suggest when you are importing for the first time you can use the Import Master Repository wizard and from next time if any small changes has then import those individual ODI Object.
You don't have to repeats those individual import once the Master Repository Import is successful.
Reg Agent Error You can create an Agent manually in the your new Topology.
I believe you have upgraded from 10g to 11g . In that case all your Master Rep url and credentials might change and so the old odiparams might not work .Please update odiparams accordingly.

  • File export size problem (PNG,JPG ....) - CS5

I am using trial of Adobe Illustrator CS5.
When ever I export file (RGB) to PNG or JPG format, there is size difference of 1px in width or hight or both.
But when I save that file with Save for Web & Devices option, then there is no such issue.
I have tested with so many files.
I didn't faced such problem with Illustrator 4.

I have looked all the option .... alignment, pixel grid , not frictional value ..... But still 1px difference.
Now I have switched back to CS 4. For while till problem not solved.
But there is issue. One more thing I am using Windows 7.

  • File Export Renaming Problem

I want to export collections of files from Lightoom.
I want to rename the newely exported files, but I want to use the same file number suffix as the original file.
I also want to embed the oringal file name in the metadata of the newly exported file.
The problem is that, when I go into the File->Export dialog i.e. the "Filename Template Editor" the orginal  "file number suffix" is not showing up in what would be the newly created filename. The orginal file number suffix does not appear to be part of the metadata.
The current filename on disk does however have the file number suffix as part of the name.
However it does not seem possible to extract part of the current file name (i.e. the number suffix) on export.
If I rename the files using a number sequence then adding or removing a file will change the sequence on subsequent exports of the collection.
(Not something I want to do, since it would then be difficult to keep track of the images used originate the exported file, if I updated the collection.)
Renaming all my original files is not a viable option since there are too many of them and different exported files may be in more than one collection.
*Any suggestions as to how to get the file naming I want for the exported files, i.e. "placename-oringal file number suffix"?
(Given the file number suffix is missing from the metadata)
*Also I would like to include the existing file name in the metadata of any new file name.
Any suggestions on how to automate this?

    John said:
    > Unless you check "minimize metadata", it should all be there.
No I have not checked this box.
    > Second, if you rename your files just before you Export (and not in the Export dialog, but actually rename them by batch
    > so the LR name is changed) you'll be able to link them up to the originals much more easily.
No this will not work.  My naming method is quite useful for me, but not useful for potential buyers.
When I export collections I want to simplify the names.
    > Third, the rename editor is pretty flexible.
Yes I know, usually it is sufficient, but in this case it does not do what I want.
    > Finally, all the metadata is there, and searching is much easier via it rather than a complex naming convention
    > (not that it's so complex, but getting there may be.
Not sure I completely agree here.  My naming method works quite well for organising images and for processing and so on.
Now since I have collections spanning multiple directories and so that I want to export the files with a simplified filename.
I expected to be able to do this using the file name editing template.
The BreezeBrowser renamer is much more flexible than the Lightroom filename template editor, so I may end up using that.
However it will be messy and add a few extra steps. i.e. export to a new directory using the existing filename.  Then use Breezebrowser to rename the files by extracting the "file number suffix" from the original filename and making sure there is sufficient information in the new filename to create a one-to-one mapping.  Then upload the new files to the website.
I stil don't see how to get the original file name into the metadate of the new filename though?l
Really I should be able to do all this in Lightroom.

  • PDF not fully flattened when exporting - Printing problems

I recently ran across a problem I haven't experienced before. I had designed a postcard in InDesign CS6, The client wanted the text from their old logo with a new graphic in place of part of the old logo (sorry if that sounds very confusing they replaced old logo graphic with one that is celebrating 40 years). I used the clipping boxes and imported both the new graphic and the old logo (cutting off the graphic of the old logo that they didn't want). Looked great on screen, my printed proof on my printer looked great as well. Exported using press quality, with trim marks to PDF and sent it to the print house.
The print house opened it in a program to mail merge and it still looked great on screen, but when it printed the graphic from the old logo showed through and I ended up with the new logo printed on top of the old logo (which my client obviously was furious about).
I've been doing this for 12 years with no previous problems, so this baffled me.  The printing house told me that they occasionally have this happen because their hi-tech printer is able to read hidden layers and just is too smart and that it is probably that the pdf isn't flattened enough.
First off, I need to know what I need to do to my PDF setting to make sure this doesn't happen again as I want what I see on screen to be all that prints.
Second, if the hi-tech printer didn't pay attention to that clipping path (and showed all the logo), but didn't mess up the grid of pictures on the card (all of which were in the same type of clipping mask), what caused it to do this?
Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
I think your pdf file is probably damaged. There is a tool called Advanced PDF Repair. I have used it to repair many corrupt PDF files successfully. Its homepage is http://www.datanumen.com/apdfr/  Maybe you can have a try.

  • Export Resolution Problem In Photoshop CS-2

I am having a problem exporting a Nikon NEF file (raw) from Aperture to Photoshop CS-2. The problem is that after the file is exported it is only at 72 dpi when I need at least 300 dpi for print. Can anyone help me out here as I have spent hours trying to figure this out? I have checked my settings in the preferences menu and have the export settings set to psd. I have also tried the tiff setting as well with no such luck. I have not cropped the image at all. I am exporting it as a full size raw file.
Also where can you manage the color profile settings in Aperture I assume it is using the profile that the camera gave the image?
I am also having some issues with the quality of the image after I bring it back into Aperture from Photoshop. It seems that some pixels are very muddy and blotchy looking. I can view the image in Photoshop and Aperture side by side and the Aperture version is not the same.
Anyone’s comments and help would be much appreciated.
    Robert

Thanks for the reply Robert. Wow that was a good hours worth of reading. I found it somewhat helpful but looks as though I am confused about the topic as many others are. All I know is that one time I cropped an image in Photoshop to a 5x7 image size at 72 dpi and had it printed and it defiantly showed the pixels being jagged on the edges of my text and subject. I then reprinted the image and cropping from the original raw cropped it to the same 5x7 but set the dpi to 300 and the results were much better. My camera is a Nikon D2H at 4.1 mega pixels. The images are 1632 x 2464 and are usually about 3.1 MB in size. I have had outstanding results printing images up to 16 x 24 using a professional lab and setting the ppi at 300 in Photoshop. So I guess my real test will be to have one printed out that I cropped from Aperture at a 16 x 24 size and compare the results to my old way of doing things in Photoshop. I hate to say this but I really don’t care about the tech side of printing. I just need to know what works and what doesn’t. I see a lot of great qualities in Aperture but there is a learning curve as in any new product.
For the record in the past I always used Nikon capture to perform the raw file edits before moving them to Photoshop for further editing if needed. Such as adding a watermark or some text to the image and had great results. The reason for my change is that I switched from a PC a few weeks ago to this new G-5 Quad and have found out that Nikon View does not run at all on the OSX operating system. Nikon Capture works well but without View there is no way to organize your files. So I spent the 499.00 and bought Aperture, which is great for file organizing. So off to the lab I go to see what happens when I print a 16 X 24 image with Aperture. I will let everyone know what the results are.
    Happy Computing,

  • Exporting PDF problem indesign CS5

    Hello,
I'm trying to export a 72 pages document to pdf in indesign CS5 but during the exporting proces the pdf file disappeares. Who knows a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance for helping me.
    with creative greets,
    Robert Bastiaenen

what I did was saving the indd file. After that I wanted to export the HR-pdf document so I started the export and after 15 minutes teh file disappeares when it wasn't finished with saving. When i tried to save it as the smallest file size possible there was no problem and the file was exported correctly. So I allready found out that the problem can be found in de export to HD_PDF.

  • XML export encoding problem

    Hi all,
I've got a problem when I export BW query data in xml format. I send the xml file containing query data to a BSP controller and read out the file using form fields. The problem is that some characters get 'damaged': german characters like 'äöüÄÖÜ' etc. or '€' can't be received correctly. I assume that the query gets export in iso 8859-1 encoding and the BSP controller expects utf-8. Is there a possibility to change the export encoding of the xml document before it gets send to the BSP controller? Or is there other solution?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dominik

    Hello,
The solution for this issue is before transferring  the xml  file convert it to xstring with proper encoding and then send iit to BSP,
    you can use the following,
    call function 'SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING'
