EXPORTING 7D FROM FC EXPRESS LOSES QUALITY- HELP

Hi
I have 7d footage which I'm trying to export from Final cut express and when I do it loses quality and comes out a little pixelated.
The video is 1920 x 1080, 25 fps, in 'Get Info' it tells me Codecs: H.264, Linear PCM. The total bit rate is 46,000- 47,000.
In Final Cut the easy set up for the project is HDV-Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i50.
Then I export it at Compression Type: H.264. Keyframes every 25 fr. Encoding: Best Quality.
And export Dimensions: 1280x720 HD
What am I doing wrong?
Please Help I need to sort this ASAP.

you've misunderstood it's a quicktime mov. when i right click on it(i use an imac) and click get info then it comes up with a bit of data once of which says codecs:h.264,linear pcm- which is maybe just suggesting what codecs to use when compressing it- ignore the h.264.
"Also, because the 7D video frame size is 1920x1080 you need to use the AVCHD Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i50 Easy Setup in FCE"- this option is not given in FCE HD.
I know MpegStreamclip and I'll try that see what happens, this is the first time I've worked with 7d before just used 5d. I also have pavtube video converter.
Thanks for helping it is very much appreciated

  • Trouble exporting Quicktimes from Avid Express Pro?

Hello! I'm operating Avid Express Pro version 4.3.0 on a G5 Mac OS 10.3.9 and I recently upgraded to QuickTime 7.1.5. I can no longer export quicktimes from Avid Express Pro because it is not compatible with this version of Quicktime. It's only compatible with QT 6.5.2. I've tried to use the reinstaller 6.5.2 and it doesn't work as it cannot seem to find 6.5.2 on my system. I now can't load 6.5.2 as I already have a higher version of quicktime on my system. I've tried deleting QuickTime files and starting from scratch and did delete a few items, but dragged the majority back into my computer from the trash as I realized I didn't know what I was doing and which 3rd party programs also utilized QuickTime.
If I wish to reinstall QuickTime 6.5.2 but the reinstaller won't work, what would you recommend?
    HUGE thanks!

  • Migration from Outlook Express loses everything after "group"

    Hello,
I migrated from Outlook Express to Thunderbird on XP, then moved the files to Windows 8.
I had one "group" in my OE address book. Nothing after that group name (which began with an H) was migrated into the new address book. In other words, I lost everything after H.
I also have these contacts on Gmail. Is there an easy way to retrieve them from OE (I guess I could delete the group and start over, but that's a long process and I fear losing the mail I've already sent on TB), or is there an easy way to get them from gmail?
    Thanks.
    S

there are several solutions to your problem, which is best for you I do not pretend to know.
There is the option of simply copying the WAB file from outlook express to Windows 7 asnd double clicking on it to have it imported to the windows contacts folder. I have instructions here http://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com.au/2013/12/windows-contacts.html that include the windows contact folder into Thunderbird.
Alternatively you can install one of the gmail contact sync add-ons. I use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/google-contacts

  • Exporting Messages from Outlook Express

Can anyone advise how to export my messages from OE in a comma separated values file (csv)? Alternatively, I could work with a tab delimited file if someone can help with this.
    I'm using OE 5.0.6 with OS 9.2.2.
    Many thx!

    Jeff,
    Welcome to discussions.
If you can help us by telling us what you plan to do with the messages, we may be able to provide some suggestions. Tab-delimited and CSV is a pretty dodgy format for email content. There are a host of other email applications (many free) that are only too willing to read all your mail from OE and import it into their mail database. They may then have some output options, ie. XML, which I think is 1,000,000x more preferable than CSV.
Are you planning to import the email into some FileMaker / AppleWorks or HyperCard database ?
I've had to do this more than a few times, from MS Mail (Win 3.1) to OE (OS8) to Lotus Notes (WinNT) to OE (OS9) to Outlook (W2K) to Entourage (OSX), and back again, sometimes. I've tried all the other options available to me, ie. OSX Mail as an intermediate step for some tricky conversions.
Any info you can provide about what you want to achieve will help.

  • Retrieving (exporting) emails from Outlook Express 4.5 on an old iMac

    Hi,
I’ve got an old iMac (1999, graphite) which I used for a while in 2005. It’s got loads of important emails I need to keep versions of, currently in Outlook Express 4.5.
How do I export those emails? I tried a few times just by copying the files, but failed.
Secondly, how do I import them either into a PC (Outlook 2002) or a new Macbook. (I’m currently using a PC but plannign to get a Macbook later this year).
    Thanks for your help.

"End of file" means the mail database is corrupt. That being said, EntourAid might help. As per the developer, "EntourAid attempts to recover emails in any corrupted Microsoft Outlook Express/Entourage email database that is reported to be corrupted and irrecoverable. This has been tested on both 'normal' corruption situations as well as on databases corrupted by the '2 gigabyte limit' in Entourage Office v.X, with up to 90% recovery rate (including attachments)."

    Hi,
another maybe stupid question: Exporting my videos from AVID to import it into PP CS4, what is the right setting RGB or 601 colour space??? I did it with 601 and my video seems to appear a little too dark...
(I will use QT annimation codec.)

and Pr CS4 is detecting it and automatically changing it from clip to clip or do I have to set it up somewhere?

  • How I can export files from CS5.5 to send for further editing in CS6 and no lose quality?

how I can export files from CS5.5 to send for further editing in CS6 and no lose quality?

If all you need for further editing is the contents of your Timeline,
then you should follow Harm's sage advice.
    Lagarith Lossless Video Codec
    http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html
    Ut Video Codec Suite
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Ut-Video-Codec-Suite
But, if you will need all of your source media files to continue the edit,
you should consider using the Project Manager.
    Trim or copy your project
By using the Project Manager, you will be continuing the edit
with the original media files and there will be no quality loss.
Be aware that once you have edited the project in CS6,
it will be problematic (but not impossible) to return to edit in CS5.5.

  • How many times can you "Export - Quicktime movie" the same ProRes 422 file until it starts to lose quality?

Lets say you are done with your project & you want an uncompressed copy of it as your master. If you keep importing it back into Final Cut Pro, & keep exporting (Quicktime movie), will it ever start to lose quality?

I've never seen a number given, but would think it is very high.
    Apple describes ProRes here:
    About Apple ProRes
    And in that document says:
"while remaining visually lossless through many generations of decoding and reencoding."
I don't think I've ever seen degradation caused by recompression or multiple compassion, but as a workflow if you output a master file, then re-import it to add graphics and export that, you would only be 1 generation down from the master file. If you wanted to make multiple versions, you can always go back to, and re-import,  the master file and make the changes, then export, so all you exports stay only 1 generation down from the master file.

  • How do I export apps from my iPhone to my iMac? I received notice that there is an update now for the iOS in my iPhone, but that I first needed to transfer some files (apps?) from the iPhone to my iMac. But I cannot find anything in the Help menu on this.

How do I export items from my iPhone to my iMac? Apple sent me a message to my iPhone, saying that there is an update for iOS, to 6.1.3, but before I install this update, I should first transfer some items from the iPhone to my iMac; otherwise I would lose these items (apps?)
I have two problems with this:  1) I don't know what files I should transfer, and 2) I don't how to transfer from an iPhone to an iMac (but do know how to download apps from iTunes Store to my iMac, and then to my iPhone.
Very confusing! Any help/suggestions gratefully accepted.

Move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on File, and choose Transfer Purchases. If you need to authorize the computer, the command is in the Store menu.

  • Exporting from Final Cut Pro - Quality of AfterEffects Text Graphics

I am once again struggling with Final Cut Pro exports in terms of the look and quality of AfterEffects graphics.
I have AfterEffects MOV files that look fine as is (both as Animation and as Apple Pro Res) and they look fine on the timeline in FCP 7.   When I export though from FCP (in multiple ways - H.246, AppleProRes, 1080/720, etc.), the graphics within the exported video are breaking up and look pixellated.   Any advice?   Thank you!!  - [email protected]

This is very hard to tell because, first, we don't know anything at all about your export settings, frame rate, frame size or even how you are judging the quality, and second, this is not a Final Cut Pro forum. There are a bunch of FCP users that use AE but if everything looks great coming out of AE as a rendered DI (digital intermediate) and your are using the DI in FCP then the problem is in Final Cut.
Maybe a better explanation of the process in FCP and some screenshots or examples of the rendered from FCP vs the rendered from AE would help us figure out what is going on.

  • Exports from eyeTV at AppleTV quality no longer play on iPhone?

Before getting an iPhone 3G, I exported recordings from EyeTV 3 in AppleTV quality (720 x 480) and watched them on my iPod touch. The iPhone, however, doesn't seem able to play these, and, iTunes won't even sync them to the iPHone. What happened? Does this relate to the 2.x software?
As I expect to eventually get an AppleTV, I'd like to keep exporting recordings at the AppleTV quality, but now, it seems I have to export twice: once for AppleTV and once for the iPhone. What a waste.
Anyone have a solution for this problem? Any way to export at a higher quality level that will play back fine on both the AppleTV and the iPHone?
    Thanks!

    Johnathan,
"I think you are confused about what settings you use."
I just thought I should point out this is a rather rude reply, aside from not being helpful. You point out some confusing information on elgato's site, and then attribute the confusion to the person asking the question. Let's re-iterate a few things.
The video dimensions given for the AppleTV export come straight out of the interface dialog boxes in the eyeTV software. These are default settings from the software, things he explained he doesn't see how he could change.
You look at the --look at the text-- Max setting for Turbo.264's output and suggest the problem is with Turbo.264's default settings? You make no sense. Do you really think that with the main purpose for this product, ripping to AppleTV and iPod formats, that the default would be off spec? So first don't be so quick to just blame the other company. But 2nd, for your professional communication sake, don't be so quick to blame the user, especially when one has laid out, in a number of angles, different things he has tried. This is clearly NOT a "you're just confused about what you're doing" problem--the problem lies in changes in iPhone software and the encoding settings--not simple stuff. Take it from a writing teacher--keep your focus on the issue and the information, not blaming the person. It does you no good, does the other person no good, and only creates ill feeling. When simply pointing out confusing mis-match of information would position you, in contrast, as at least generally helpful.
    More than my two cents,
    Steve

  • Color Looks Faded when Exporting from FinalCut Express

I am a new FinalCut user, so this might be a novice question:
I am currently trying to export my project from FinalCut Express and, though the color looks fine in my timeline and on my Viewer window, when I export to any type of movie (and I've tried several compressions) The color is extremely faded.
The footage was captured from DVD on another program, but looks fine when played on its own in Quicktime Player.
I can't imagine that a video editing program like this would have this type of fatal flaw, so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.
If anyone could give suggestions as to what might be happening upon export and how I could fix it, it would make my first FinalCut project a much better success.
    Thanks so much!

    Thanks for helping me!
I'm not sure why you say FCE doesn't edit H.264.
Do you mean it doesn't capture and convert from DVD to H.264?
Because I did not capture my footage on FCE, I had an editor use her Avid to capture the footage.
She gave me 4 files, quicktime movies, in H.264 compression.
I asked her again, just to make sure and in the clip info, it says the same: Compression: H.264
They seamed to have imported into FCE fine and I edited what I needed.
It's also an export option under Quicktime Conversions so I assumed since my original files are H.264, that I should keep the same compression.
I really hope I don't have to recapture...my material looks fine in the edit windows as well as the timeline. Do you think my original footage at H.264 is the problem?
Can I just convert the clips to another format and re-import?
    Thanks again!

  • Help with exporting data from pdf form

I have about 100 pdf forms that I created in adobe forms central and distributed as a pdf form (rather than on the web). I am trying to export the data into a spreadsheet but when I export it, the fields are all jumbled in the csv file, as in they are not in the same order. I need to export the data all together so I'm going to the forms menu and selecting "manage form data" and then selecting "merge data files into spreadsheet". I tried exporting a single file but that gave me something really weird.
Please help, I have a deadline next week to analyze this data and can't make sense of it once it is exported to a spreadsheet.

Would you please share your form with me and send me one of your pdf forms and some of the csv files?
You can share your form by doing the following:
    1. Click on the “Share” icon on the bottom left corner.
    2. Click on “Add Collaborator” on the popup menu.
    3. Enter [email protected] under “People to share with”.
    4. Set subject to "Export data from pdf form"
    5. Click the “Share” button on the bottom right of the dialog.
    Thanks
    Ken
