Exporting a doc as word document

when i save a file as a word document i get this error :
what can i do?

If it's a PDF document then you would need a third-party utility that can convert PDFs to text. You can look for them at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
If it's some other filetype then unless you tell us what the filetype is we have no way of knowing if it can be opened in Word. Perhaps you could provide us an example link to an article you have a problem with.

  • Adobe pro 9.2 export to doc causes word to freeze

    Hi,
I have a PDF that I need to convert back to a word document.  I have Adobe Professional 9.2 running on Windows XP Pro SP3.  I open the PDF, export it to a Word Document.  Adobe goes through all 42 pages.  I try to open the resulting doc file in Word 2003 SP3, I only get the first 18 pages and word freezes at page 16.  Word won't do anything.  page 16 is just like the other pages.  I have to open task manager and kill winword.exe.  I have tried changing the various export settings and every combination I have tried causes word to freeze.  What is wrong?
    Thanks,

The only practical way to add them is to just add the pages. It sounds like you are trying to edit in Acrobat that is a bear of a problem. It is not an editor and the editing features should only be used as a last resort. You really should get the original documents and combine those, then make a new PDF. Another possibility is to save to WORD, text, or other format, combine the files, then create another PDF. Of course, you may likely lose formating and stuff when you save to WORD. Think of a PDF as a paper document (that kind of final form) and you have the idea. When we used to do this with typing, it meant that a whole page would have to be modified as a minimum.

  • Why won't my Page Numbers and Footnotes from Swriter (OpenOffice) appear in .doc (MS Word) documents

I have written a book using Swriter (OpenOffice).
I have Footnote descriptions at the bottom of some pages and Page Numbers located at the top and bottom of each page) throughout the book.
I converted it to a .doc (MS Word) document for some people that have MS Word and the Footnote descriptions do not appear at the bottom of the specific page (the actual Footnote Numbers still appear in the specific sentence). Also, the Page Numbers do not appear at the bottom and top of each page.

Sorry, that isn't a Firefox support issue. Try the OpenOffice support forum. <br />

  • Can you edit a pdf document without exporting it into a word document?

Can you edit a pdf document without exporting it into a word document?

    Hi sylvias99766822,
You can if you have Acrobat. If you don't, feel free to give it a try. You can download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.
Keep in mind, though, that Acrobat isn't intended to be a word processor. So, while you can make adjustments to text and graphics, if you need to do a major overhaul of the text in the document, it's best to go back to the source document and edit the content there.

  • Generating reports in .doc format (Word Document) using Java POI - HWPF

    Hi
Can anybody help me how to generate the report in .doc format using POI API?
Please share the sample code, if you have.
    Thanks in Advance
    Dhilip

    Hi,
I dont think that your requirement has to do with ADF capabilities.
You want to edit a word document with JAVA. For that reason, you will need an API, as the suggestions above.
You can do it without ADF and by using standard JAVA and the API of your choice. a static void main will do for that matter.
ADF comes into the game when you want to handle the document with your ADF application.
This means that you either want to get your new data to be placed on your doc from BC or any other DataControl or you want to do something else with ADF..
My guess is that you want to get data from ADF into your Doc.
You could create an API on handling your Doc and then use it into your ADF application.

    Dimitris.

  • How to convert a PDF to save as .doc microsoft word document

I purchased from an online source a resume which was sent to me via PDF using Adobe.  I would like to save the PDF as a word document and when I press download and asked to convert to MS it just takes me back like a revollving door to advertisement for purchasing Adobe and back to the PDF file again.  Please help me get my PDF converted to a word document.  Does anyone out there know of a way ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi kathyv30365453,
You can convert PDF to Word using either  the ExportPDF online service, or Acrobat. I checked your account, and it doesn't look like you've purchased an ExportPDF subscription. If you want to give Acrobat a try, you're welcome to download a 30-day trial from the link I reference above. In Acrobat, you choose File > Save as Other > Microsoft Word > Word Document.

  • Export File to Microsoft Word Doc fails - why?

I have Acrobat 11 Pro installed, and for the fist time tried to "Export File to Microsoft Word Document".  After invoking this, I see the "Preprocessing file for export" progress bar appear in the lower right corner of the document window, but then I receive an error dialog box that says "Save As failed to process this document.  No file was created."  Is there an additional license required to use this feature, or is there some additional configuration needed, or do I have a problem with my install?  Thanks in advance.

    Hi bk81223519,
Have you tried converting some other PDF to word and then checked.
Are you running the latest patch of Acrobat XI i.e. 11.0.10?
Please choose 'Check for Updates' option under the Help menu.
You might try choosing 'Repair Acrobat Installation' from Acrobat Help menu and check.
    Let me know.

  • PDF to Word documents not indexed

I am trying to use the trial version of Acrobat X to convert PDF documents to Word DOC file format.  I have found that the result is not picked up by the Indexing Service in Windows Server 2003.  However, if I convert to an RTF document instead, the result is indexed.  If I convert to a DOC format and then rename the file with an RTF file extension, the document is indexed.  Can anyone provide any insight into why this happens?  It also appears to be an issue with some other PDF conversion tools from other providers, but not all.  Any help is appreciated.

If you're specifically talking about exporting to DOC format (Word 2003 and earlier) instead of DOCX, then it's a consequence of the way non-Microsoft applications write the files.
DOC files can be either binary (the format actually saved by Word) or a text-based RTF file with just a change in file extension. As the binary format is proprietary and closed, when Acrobat saves to "DOC" it actually saves an RTF file and changes the name. Word is perfectly happy with that, but some apps can get annoyed when the content of a file doesn't exactly "match" its file extension.

  • Cannot import a set of comments in the PDF to a Word document

I'm desperately trying to import a set of comments in a PDF to a Word document and cannot do so in Acrobat9. Time is of the essence. I keep getting the following message:
When PDF was created, the content and it was not tagged.  exporting comments into a Word document will only work if the PDF is a tagged PDF.
To create a tagged PDF, you must select "change conversion settings" from the Adobe PDF menu, and check the box labeled "enable accessibility and reflow with tagged PDF."
I had no idea where to look to make this change--where is the Adobe PDF menu??? I tried doing research in the Adobe help information, and it directs me to go to: advanced > Accessibility > Add tags document. However when I click these menu items, the menu item "add tags to document" is gray and cannot be selected.
So now I've got a 1200-page draft filled with comments and I can't get them to the owner.  I'd appreciate anybody's help. I never had a problem importing comments in previous releases of Adobe Acrobat.

Just to add a bit more information:
We use a tool called the Arbortext Editor to write our source and use the transform tool to automatically create a PDF of the source.

  • Extract data on specific rows in Excel file and add it to different word document on specific rows

I was wondering about if it's possible to set up some kind of vba for this function. I have one worksheet with different data in. Where it is written the same thing like 1A & 2A And 1B & 2B
And if i could put this information on specific rows in a Word document.
I would like to have all of the different data on row 1 in one specific row in a word sheet for it self and the different data on on row 2 copied into different rows in a new word document if it's possible to do some kind of domino effect of this where it can
run 5000 diffrent rows with this kind of inputs,
Im sorry for the bad explanation i did not really know how to translate it as good as possible, write back if you have any question!
    Cell 1A: Bmw Cell 1B: Automatic Cell 1C: Diesel Cell 1D: 2014
    Cell 2A: Volvo Cell 2B: Manual Cell 2C: Bensin Cell 2D: 2010

    Run this code in Excel.
    Sub PushToWord()
    Dim objWord As New Word.Application
    Dim doc As Word.Document
    Dim bkmk As Word.Bookmark
    sWdFileName = Application.GetOpenFilename(, , , , False)
    Set doc = objWord.Documents.Open(sWdFileName)
    objWord.activedocument.variables("BrokerFirstName").Value = Range("BrokerFirstName").Value
    objWord.activedocument.variables("BrokerLastName").Value = Range("BrokerLastName").Value
    ActiveDocument.Fields.Update
    objWord.Visible = True
    End Sub
You must add a few DocVariables to your Word document.  See these links for more information.

  • Cannot open Word document

The setup in my environment is that I have WL 8.1 and IIS on the same server running Windows 2003 as the OS. IIS plug-in, wlforward, iisproxy, etc was configured and mime-mapping was done on the web.xml.
It works fine when surfing jsp pages but when I want to access a MS Word document using the host header registered in IIS (ie. abc.xyz.com/word.doc), the word document will be displayed in ASCII garbage. If I accessed the same word document in WL URL (ie. abc.xyz.com:portno/word.doc), the word document will be displayed correctly.
No problem faced when access the same word document on a pure IIS website (ie. def.xyz.com/word.doc).
How do I configure WebLogic Server so that doc files can be accessed through web server from WebLogic using the host header URL (ie. abc.xyz.com?

Can you try using File Plugin & trying to read the document as a binary stream and then display it in a window with proper headers ?
    Thanks,
