Exporting a DV STREAM

Hello everyone - I was hoping to use Keynote as part of our broadcast system. We broadcast news and I wanted to use it for fast graphics. Our broadcast server only accepts DV STREAM files though. On a look around the internet, it seems I should be able to export as a DV Stream - however I can only see Quicktime with the variety of codecs you would expect.
It's Keynote v2 by the way. Please help!
I can take the file and change it to DV stream in After Effects, but this isn't an option for quick turnaround graphics.
Thanks in advance!

DV stream is the same info as a .mov in DV format, only the audio is stored differently. I believe if you used QT Pro or some batch utility to convert from one to the other, it wouldn't actually do any "conversion" per say as more of a repackage. You could also try changing the .dv to .mov and see if it just works anyway

  • CS5.5 will not export MPEG2 Transport stream with mpg extension?

    I am creating video for the local cable access channel. I have been using the MPEG2 NTSC DV High Quality preset. That preset outputs MPEG layer 2 audio. The cable access coordinator says that those files will not play audio from the Soloist media server, even though the specs for that server calls for MPEG layer 2 audio. Those files play ok in Windows Media Player. When analyzed with AVIcodec, GSpot, and VideoInspector, they all show there is MPEG layer 2 audio. The server shows no audio at all in one of it's reports.
    I had previously been using an older version of Final Cut Pro and Compressor. I no longer have access to that computer but I believe I had been exporting a Program Stream. The access channel's documentation calls for Transport Stream. When exporting Transport Stream MuliplexingMPEG2 video in CS5.5 Media Encoder, the output file has the .m2t extension. These 3 codec analyzers aren't recognizing this as MPEG2. I assume that the video server will not recognize this m2t file extension at all. Final Cut's compressor did output the Program Stream MPEG2 with the mpg extension.
    Is there a way to export Transport Stream MPEG2 video with MPEG layer 1 audio and have an .mpg file extension on the resulting file?
    Also, anyone familiar enough with PID values to know if that could have any bearing on why the MPEG layer 2 audio is not being detected in that video server when I use the MPEG2 NTSC High Quality presets?
    Thanks for any help.

    Jeff,
    I am still waiting to here back from the access channel coordinator to see if the test file encoded this way would be recognized and play correctly. The files can only be tested when the server is off-line so it takes awhile for a response. Thanks for your help. I'll post when I get word of that file status.

  • What has happened to the export from Photo Stream option in iPhoto?

    Until very recently I was able to export items from Photo Stream in iPhoto my Mac. Abruptly this option seems to have disappeared, and is now greyed out. Anyone got any idea why? Thanks in anticipation?

  • Exporting for Web Streaming...

    Hello - what are the best specs to export a file for Web Streaming? My client gave me the specs of 640x320, and it's too stretched. Also, would it be in Sorenson? MPEG-4? Something else? Thanks so much!

    But H.264, good to know that that's the 'standard' setting for Web Streaming... ,
    There are no standards for Web streaming. None. H.264 is a convenient place to start but only because Flash will see it and Microsoft's latest products sometimes do.
    Streaming is often confused with but can be wildly different from unicast, multicast, download, and live viewing.

  • AE CS5 (v10.0.1.19) export as .h264 Streaming Problem

    I already submitted this to Adobe as a bug but want to inform everybody about this issue.
    If you export/render a file (Render Queue) as .h264 (mp4) and set under Output Module -> Format Options -> Multiplexer -> Stream Compatibility = Standard
    you do not get a streaming file!
    I tested this and I was not able to stream the file from an online webserver with a standard Flash video player.
    If you want streaming files then use the Adobe Media Encoder CS5.
    I tested it with the same file or After Effects composition and the same exact settings with Adobe Media Encoder CS5 and the resulting files stream perfectly from an online webserver!
    So be aware of this issue...
    I have to encode my 50 files again!
    Just to clarify: when I am using the word streaming I mean I think it's called "progressive download" and not real streaming like flash media server would do.
    If you want to try it yourself or for confirmation here are the steps to reproduce the bu
    ***BUG***
    1. Import a video file and drop it into a new composition of same size
    2. Add Composition to Render Queue
    3. Render Queue -> Output Module -> Format = .h264
    4. click on Render Queue -> Output Module -> Format Options
    5. set Multiplexer -> Stream Compatibility to Standard
    6. Render File
    7. Try to stream this file from an online web server
    8. Streaming this file is not possible. A Flash video player have to load the whole file before it can play it! File does not stream!
    ***Workaround***:
    1. render the same composition or video file with same settings with Adobe Media Encoder CS5
    2. This file streams perfectly! A Flash video player does not have to load the whole file before it can play it! Playing of the file starts immediately. File streams!
    I hope this is somehow helpful for some users

    I used AE for encoding because I have had a bunch of old video files (some are interlaced and needed a special deinterlace operation, some needed to get edited, some files were combined into one file....) for a redesign of my web page ...
    So the easiest and fastest workflow was to use AE.
    You are right with the 2 pass encoding... but I usually only use 1 pass encoding because it's much faster to encode and the difference in terms of file size and quality is not that much...
    I only posted this issue here for users (like me) who think that it is possible to export .h264 files for streaming purpose out of AE but as this test shows to me AE is not a good choice if you need the files for streaming.
    If you don't care about the streaming.... the files from AE look as good as when encoded with Adobe Media Encoder.
    My workaround was to save every AE project to disk and then I imported the AE composition directly into Adobe Media Encoder CS5 via Dynamic Link.
    Worked great...

    I've tried alter system set streams_pool_size=1M; but I just get :

    Any ideas why I cannot run data pump? I am assuming that I just need to set streams_pool_size but I don't understand why I cannot increase the size of it on this db. It is set to 0 on other databases that work fine and I can set it which is why I am possibly linking the issue to vlm

  • Exporting in Quicktime Stream

    I have a 3 minute video and I need to export it into a quicktime streaming file for the internet. I need it to be 240x180. How do I make the settings like that in final cut pro hd?

    file>export>quicktime conversion>set up your parameters.
    Remember that streaming is a function of the bandwidth of the server hosting your clip. You can set the file up for streaming, but if there is limited bandwidth, it'll choke.

  • Best QT export format for streaming video

    I have a video clip placed in an iWeb web page which will be viewed (of course) by Windows users.
    What's the best format to export and allow the widest compatibility with Windows browsers? I have a laptop running XP (SP 2), have just downloaded and installed the latest available QT for Windows software, and when trying to play the movie I get an alert advising "a component is needed which is not available on the server."
    At present the video clip seems to download, and I get a control bar which will play the sound, but no video.
    Suggestions?
    I have QT Pro.
    Ken

    Guys,
    Thanks for this info. Can I make sure I read right and ask a couple more questions re sharing movies on the web:
    1) Exporting
    Export: Movie to Quicktime Movie
    Use: Streaming-Medium (even if there is no 'streaming'
    Options>Video>Settings>Compression Type MPEG-4 .. and leave the other items as is?
    Sound: Now I have to ask something here. When I use the defauly AAC it sound like it's being recorded underwater. I have been using Qualcomm Purevoice for no other reason than it suggests that speech comes out better! And it seems to. Please advise. Other settings leave as is?
    Prepare for Internet streaming: Select Fast Start-Compressed Header
    - interestingly, the big 'Q' often just sits there when you click on the movie so I don't know when and how this setting actually works.
    2) Extracting Sound from a QT movie
    I am going to take the sound of one movie and apply it to another, using, presumeably, Export: AIFF ... what settings should I use? In this case I want it to be high quality for use in a DVD. The default setting appeared to come up as mono
    3) Is there a utility to concatenate QT movies? I found one once on Version Tracker, but it always seemed to fall over.
    4) Concatenating QT files. We all know that if you do a copy-paste concatenation, then delete a component file, it screws up (can't find file). Yet, if you merely change the length of one of the component files, it isn't reflected in the concatenated file ... also, if you cut a piece out of a QT movie and then merely save it (cmd-S) it does not reduce the overall size of the file by that amount unless you save as self-contained to another name... how the dickens do you work most efficiently with them? Are there all these rogue pieces of unreferenced, excess movie clips now littering my hard drive?
    Really appreciate your help.

  • EXPORT QUICKTIME FOR STREAMING

    Hi,
    I have a 3'30" music video that I want to export as a Quicktime for streaming.
    It can't be more than 40 MB and preferably it should be lower, but with as good as poss screen quality.
    I also need to change the frame size, cos project is 16:9 anamorphic.
    Could somebody talk me through it..?
    Many thanks,
    Mark

    Scheduling is not a problem as it can be done easily with iCal. Where you may run into trouble is having hinted and non-hinted files in the same folder as that will make it hard to select. A better idea would be to capture to a non-hinted folder, then run the Automator workflow to get those files, hint them, copy to a new hinted folder, and then delete the originals if necessary.
    A pretty easy workflow to accomplish this would be
    Get Specified Finder Items (on the non-hinted folder)
    Get Folder Contents
    Hint Movie
    Copy Finder Items (to hinted folder)
    Get Specified Finder Items (on the non-hinted folder)<select the Ignore Previous Results under Files/Folders on this action>
    Get Folder Contents
    Move to Trash
    You should definitely test it before adding the Move to Trash part to make sure it works well.
    To schedule, save as Plugin for iCal Alarm and make a repeating event.

  • AVCHD export for web streaming

    Hi there.
    I'm having trouble finding a workflow that will create a high quality video for streaming online.
    I am filming in AVCHD, 1080i60. I have imported the footage directly into Premiere Pro CS5. The resulting video is about 50 minutes long.
    Anyone figured out a workflow for this already?
    Cheers,
    David

    Thanks for the quick response, Bill.
    I think what I'll end up doing is using Vimeo and embedding that onto my website. I noticed that PPro has the option of exporting to Vimeo SD and Vimeo HD. I imagine it's a question of trial and error, but I'm not sure which one to use, or whether they are good options in my scenario.
    I would like the video to stream smoothly for a wide variety of people the world over, so it's a good idea to keep the bitrate low... like below 7, I'm guessing. Any suggestions, or is it a question of seeing how each one looks?

  • How export encore flash streaming project to local FMS workstation?

    Hi everybody,
    i installed Flash Media Server3.5 and Encore cs4 on the same workstation.
    I'm searching a way to export diretly an flash encore project to FMS on this workstation.
    I know there is an .jsx file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS4\Required\FlashExportScripts but i don't known exactly what i have to change if i want export correctly on the workstation where FMS is installed.
    I would know where i have to place exported project in FMS folders (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\webroot\vod or C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\vod) if i would my project be in streamed mode (without cache stored on client computer).
    So, i would know what i have to change in the localFMS.jsx file to export directly on the same workstation and in good FMS folders my encore flash project.
    Thanks in advance to give me help on these questions and sorry for my english.

  • How do I export photos from PHOTO STREAM to my PC?!?!?!

    Ok, so I am a Newbie when it comes to iphones, itunes, icloud and what not. And I have a question NO ONE seems to know the answer to.
    iPhone 4s iOS 6.0.1
    I want to know how to transfer my Photo Stream (NOT ALBUMS/CAMERA ROLL PICTURES!) to my PC... I delete my album photos when they get too full because I see that it doesn't delete in my Photo Stream. I downloaded the iCloud back up on my PC and I can see the Photo Stream album in my Files but ALOT of pictures are missing!!! How do I get my pictures?! How do I export my PHOTO STREAM?! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!

    You downloaded an iCloud backup to your PC?  I assume you mean you downloaded your photo stream to your PC.  What you may not know is that photo stream only keeps your photos for 30 days.  After that, they are deleted from photo stream but not from any device that already has them (such as your phone).  When you enabled photo stream on your PC you only had access to photos from the last 30 days since the others are no longer there, even though they remain on your phone.
    To transfer these to your computer at this point you have two options:
    Save them to the camera roll on your phone (by opening the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  (You can only import photos to your computer from the Camera Roll album.)  Then import them to your computer as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083; or
    Use an app like PhotoSync, which can wirelessly transfer photos from any album between your devices/computers, including the my photo stream album.
    In the future, always import your photos from your camera roll to your computer via USB before deleting them.  Don't rely on photo stream or your iCloud backup to save your photos.

  • DV Stream Export Settings, Locked or Unlocked Audio

    When capturing VHS tapes into Final Cut Express, I always keep my Canopus ADVC110 at the default settings, including locked audio.
    I don't understand why Final Cut Express' export as DV Stream includes a little box to check or uncheck, for locked or unlocked audio. The FCE default is unchecked (unlocked), and I've been keeping it that way during export.
    What does this do to the DV file?

    Ok, I understand. Me too. I archive photos, video & audio - TIFF for stills, AIFF for audio, but for video I wouldn't pick DVStream. It's not really like TIFF or AIFF. DVStream is the format recorded on miniDV tapes and at this point is reaching technological obsolescence.
    If you're trying to digitally preserve your VHS videos, QuickTime Movie would be far preferable to DVStream, technically today as well as considering its forward life. The codecs are the same, but the contents of the files are different. DVStream interleaves the audio, video & control streams (which is why it's so difficult to edit). QuickTime contains parallel video, audio & control tracks.
    If you have captured your material via a Canopus ADVC, you are editing QuickTime/DV-NTSC in Final Cut. When you export to QuickTime Movie you are getting the exact same material. When you export to QuickTime Conversion to DVStream, FCE has to parse all your video & audio and reassemble it into the chunks required to assemble the DVStream file. To use the file in the future you will need software that supports DVStream. Even today, while FCE can work with DVStream, it has to render the audio before it's usable. Doesn't have to do that with QuickTime. There are even more issues, but I think you get the point.

  • [EWS][FastTransfer][MS-OXCFXICS] Question about paging in the Fast Transfer Stream after exporting message and the meaning of the config in the previous section of the stream.

    Hi, all.
    First, I want to construct a fast transfer stream by programming not using the export item's stream and to import the stream to the folder by posting import request in EWS.
    So, I export the item by EWS and investigate the exporting stream's struct by reading the [MS-OXCFXICS].pdf. And I can parse each MAPI property, marker, meta-property from the stream.
    I find that the stream is made of many pages, most page's length is 0x7BC0, some are less then 0x7BC0. And in the previous section of the stream, there are some configurations. So the questions are:
    1. What is the paging rule? or What is the principle of the paging? Whether a complete propvalue/marker(ref from [MS-OXCFXICS].pdf) must be contained in a page except some binary type?
    2. Why the page's binary length is 0x7BC0? Or where is the configuation about paging length?
    3. The stream is made of the FXOpcodes and the subbuffer about the FXOpcodes, and I find the mean of the FXOpcodes:
    internal enum FxOpcodes
    None = 0,
    Config = 1,
    TransferBuffer = 2,
    IsInterfaceOk = 3,
    TellPartnerVersion = 4,
    StartMdbEventsImport = 11,
    FinishMdbEventsImport = 12,
    AddMdbEvents = 13,
    SetWatermarks = 14,
    SetReceiveFolder = 15,
    SetPerUser = 0x10,
    SetProps = 0x11
    and in the stream there are 4 part(after I parse the stream):
    A. OpCode:Config, value:0000000001000000
    B. OpCode:IsInterfaceOk, value:010000000703020000000000C00000000000004600240080
    C. OpCode:TellPartnerVersion, value:000F91838417
    D and follows is: OpCode:TransferBuffer, Count:31680
    So
    a. What is the OpCode:Config value meaning?
    b. Some parts of The OpCode:IsInterfaceOk' value is the IID_IMessage("00020307-0000-0000-C000-000000000046"), What is other parts meaning?
    Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    Hi Haiyang,
    Your questions are not covered by the Open Specification documentation and this is documented in [MS-OXWSBTRF] — v20141018 section “1.3 Overview”.
    The upload and export data stream is an opaque format that only needs to be understood by a server implementation. The client only serves as a repository for the opaque data stream so that it can be uploaded to the server at
    a later time.
    You made good progress in interpreting the buffer using other documents. Why do you need to be able to parse the data? Please describe your project in details and I might submit a suggestion to document the layout of the data stream,
    if your project justifies it. You can send the description directly to me.
    Thanks, Vilmos
