Exporting address groups in Entourage

Hi there
I'm wanting to either export a group of email addresses in Entourage, so I can load it up to my webmail service, or copy in over to a different email identity in entourage - I can't say a way of doing either of these - exporting the address book does not create email groups.
Can anyone find me a solution please?

Try this.
With the Address Book and Entourage launched and positioned so each is partially visible and the Entourage Address Book selected, select a contact in the Address Book "All" Group and at the menu bar, go to Edit > Select All. Click and drag the highlighted contacts from the Address Book to the Entourage Address Book window which should copy the Address Book contacts to the Entourage Address Book.
You can do the same with selected contacts only if you don't want to export all.

How can I export a group email address to a .csv file. I can export the whole address book but it looses the group listings.

I have an address book in Thunderbird and want to export one group listing to a .csv file. I couldn't find a way of exporting one group so exported the whole address book then opened the .csv file and was going to remove the all addresses except the group but the group name was not in the file.
Is it possible to export the group listing.

Open Address Book, select the mailing list in the left pane, then Tools/Export, select csv (comma separated) format, name the file, click Save.

How do I export addresses from a sent email to a group vcard?

I sent many of my existing contacts an email and now want to group those contacts in a vcard. They are all already in my address book but as there are several hundred contacts that I want to group together, I don't want to do this one by one. Does anyone know if it can be done using my sent emails? And if not, is there a quick way to do this?

The tweaking comes after you have a working csv file which you don't yet. Just to be sure, here's what I did to get mine: In Earthlink webmail, click Preferences -> Address Book Tab -> Import/Export Address Contacts -> Export Address Book. Hopefully that presents you with this dialog box:
I did Save File, not Open, and put it on my desktop. Then launch Apple Address Book -> File -> Import, and navigate to your desktop and select the csv file. It has to have ".csv" at the end of the name as the correct file type. If you do all that and still get the same error message, something else is wrong. If it's still bad, check the csv file on your desktop, try to open it with Excel for Mac or some other spreadsheet program and you should see all the data - names, addresses if any, email addresses, etc.

Groups from Entourage to Mail

I am desperately wanting to switch from using Entourage to Mail (use Mail at home and much prefer it). The thing is that I have a huge address book in Entourage and the addresses are grouped. How do I export them? just don´t have the time to do them individually. Hope someone can help

Hi erika,
You should be able to export your contacts from Entourage A/B to your desk top and then drag them straight into Mac A/B.
To make it easy, make sure you have the same groups in Mac A/B that you have in Etour A/B. Then in Etour A/B go to file>export, click on the radio button that says "Items that are in the category:" and choose your category - hit continue. Continue thru the preference choices and save the file (should be a .rge file) to your desktop.
Once saved, just drag that file to your respective/corresponding group in Mac Address book and it should drop right in, giving you a total of the cards/addresses you are importing as confirmation

Exporting Address Book to Excel

I would like to export addresses from my Address Book to Excel, to create a database Christmas card list that I can update every year with "sent", "received", and related information. Is it possible to do this? If not, does anyone out there know any good christmas card list database software? This seems a natural for both AddressBook and Excel, but neither have any helpful tips in their Help.

Option Two: Use Address Book, itself.
In the Note field, add keywords for sent and received. I'd use something that you would not add to the notes normally (e.g. xMasSent, xMasReceived). You can then create smart groups to find all with xMasSent--call it Cards Sent; one that finds all with xMasReceived--call it Cards Received. You could also use the "does not contain" option to find ones not sent or received. Finally, you could find all that you sent, but not received.
Taking this further, you could create an applescript that would "reset" all the cards--erase the xMasSent, xMasReceived. Or, you could add the year to the keywords to keep a log of the years you sent and received. I think I could create the Applescript easy enough if you decide to go this route. However, some things I think should be easy turn out to be very difficult.

Import Address Book into Entourage

I posted a question before about a problem with Mail and Exchange/Outlook. In doing some additional research it appears I can solve my problem by using Entourage.
Now I have to try and export the addresses in the Apple Address Book into Entourage. It appears Apple Address Book will not export in a comma delimited format and Entourage will not import vCards.
Any suggestions?

This was posted in MacFixIt and it works perfectly:
Entourage addresses into Address Book:
1. Create a new desktop folder. Name it anything you want, but v-card would be appropriate, because that's what you will be creating.
2. Open Entourage's Addresses and select the ones that you want to bring over.
3. Drag these addresses into the v-card folder.
4. Drag the v-card folder into the Name field of Apple's Address Book. You can safely trash the folder after you are finished.
Apple addresses to Entourage:
1. In Apple's Address Book, select the addresses that you want to export to Entourage.
2. Open Entourage Address Book and drag those addresses into Entourage Address Book. If you are exporting multiple addresses, hold Option while you do this, otherwise only the topmost address will be exported and you'll have to do it one-by-one.
These methods are not perfect. You may find some minor errors, such as a Home email coming across as Work, but otherwise you'll get everything.

On Icloud i've made a group for work people and would like to export the group to give to people at work so they can upload it as a group

I found a couple of resources that have steps to help you export a group of contacts.
If you would like to export a group from www.iCloud.com, you can follow these steps (you can also select all contacts in step 1 by single clicking on one contact in the group and then using command+A):
Export a contact as a vCard
Select the contact you want to export in the contacts list.On your Mac, Shift-click to select multiple adjacent contacts or Command-click to select multiple nonadjacent contacts.
Choose Export vCard from the Action pop-up menu at the bottom of the contacts list.
If you select multiple contacts, Contacts exports a single vCard containing all of them.

Notes and photos are exported by default. To exclude these fields when you export cards, select the appropriate options in Address Book vCard preferences.
When you export your card, only the fields you’ve chosen to share are exported.

Import the address book from entourage to .mail?

Does anyone know how to import the address book from entourage?
I have had major problems with entourage - and I have decided to use .mail.
I have managed to get the email accounts transfered, but I can't figure out how to get the address book.
This is about 15 years of acquiring address, so, it would be a major thing to manually do this, not to mention that I can't find an address book in .mail
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - I moved the addresses, it wouldn't let me move the groups, but at least I have the major addresses.
One thing that would make .mail better is to be able to do a search on it for an old email that you now need. I hope that comes out with the new osx software.

How do I Export Address Book data?

Is there anyway to insert Address Book data into other (non-Apple) applications, e.g. Word?
I want to send out some letters and I would like each letter to have the recipiants address at the top of the letter. Even if I could export the data to Excel first would be OK but I only seem to be able to export vCards from Address Book and Excel (nor Word) can read them?
Any help would be appreciated.

you can use some third-party applications to export Address Book data as plain text files (e.g., csv) which you should then be able to import without any problems in Excel and the like.

[Forum FAQ] How do I export each group data to separated Excel files in Reporting Services?

Introduction
There is a scenario that a report grouped by one field for some reasons, then the users want to export each group data to separated Excel files. By default, we can directly export only one file at a time on report server. Is there a way that we can split
the report based on the group, then export each report to Excel file?
Solution
To achieve this requirement, we can add a parameter with the group values to filter the report based on the group, then create a data-driven subscription for the report which get File name and parameter from the group values.
In the report, create a parameter named Name which use the Name field as Available Values (supposing the group grouped on Name field).
Add a filter as below in the corresponding tablix:
Expression: [Name]
Operator: =
Value: [@Name]
Deploy the report. Then create a data-driven subscription with Windows File Share delivery extension for the report in Report Manager.
During the data-driven subscription, in the step 3, specify a query that returns the Name field with the values as the group in the report.
In the step 4 (Specify delivery extension settings for Report Server FileShare), below “File name”option, select “Get the value from the database”, then select Name field.
Below ‘Render Format’ option, select Excel as the static value.
In the step 5, we can configure parameter Name “Get the value from the database”, then select Name field.
Then specify the subscription execute only one time.

Is it possible to export a Group from Contacts to a spreadsheet? I have Version 8.0 (1371.2) on my Mac

How can I export a Group in Contacts to an Excel spreadsheet ? I've tried to follow the instructions but am going in circles: I opened the Group, then 'selected" all contacts in the Group, then chose File>Export>Export vCard. Saved it to Desktop, but when I open the file from desktop, it appears that I'm Importing them to Contacts.... I just want a spreadsheet that I can import into Constant Contact.

I want to export a group of photos from iphoto.

I want to export a group of photos from iphoto. I want them to stay in the same order that I put them in. So far when I export, the photos sort according to date or name. I want them to stay in manual sort the way I set them up in the album.
I also want to import them in that order to another program. I am going to try to import them into Final Cut Pro 7. I still want them in the sorted order.

So, in other words, it can't be done. Once the photos are exported they lose the order I had them in in iphoto.

Outgoing Email Address Groups (Very Urgent)

HI Experts,
I am facing prblem with inbound Distribution in ERMS and agent Inbox.
I have created Outgoing address groups and assigned to Email Profile. (Outging Email address and Incoming Email address eg: [email protected])
[email protected] is defined under customet service group.
When SAP system receives an E-mail, that E-mail should accessed by all agents(eg: 10 agents under Customerservice).
1)How can i assign all these 10 agents to access the email sent to [email protected] address?
Can i configure this with the help of T-code: so28 ?
2)Are there any queues in SAP? to move manually between the queues?
Please help on this issues.
