Exporting Alpha Transparency for a PC from motion5...?

I am trying to export alpha transparency for a lower third I've done in Motion5.
I know that proress422(proxy) can be used , but this does not import well into my PC (premiere pro).
Is there anyway of creating alpha transparency from m5 so that my PC will happily recognise it ?
thanks,

If you're using Alpha for *anything* -- you must use ProRes 4444 (if Premiere will accept it.) It is the only ProRes that supports transparency and the only export option in Motion 5 that supports transparency. (Older versions of Motion could export with the "Animation" codec which also supported transparency.)
If Premiere (on the PC) doesn't handle ProRes 4444, then
You can export just the alpha channel from Motion and use a "Track Matte Key" in Premiere (as I *understand* it -- I've never used premiere.)
On export, go under the Render options panel and set Color: to Alpha (default is Color + Alpha).
It's basically a B&W movie of the alpha data -- the "layer" is used as a luminance map in the travel matte key. I actually don't think it matters what codec you use for export -- it's not really transparency -- black is transparent and white is opaque.

  • Exporting MPEG2 files for Blu-ray from 720p60

    I am exporting MPEG2 files for Blu-ray from 720p60 using compressor 3.05. I export straight from Final Cut 6 to compressor. It all looks great except I end up with some frames in the video that pixelate. It is just one frame, and the average viewer may not see it, but if you go frame by frame you see it. I thought it was just a bad export, but I exported the file again and the same thing happens again on the exact same frame. The fact that it happened again on the exact same frame was very odd to me. It is this way on five different video files. It's certainly not like that in the original on my timeline, so I don't know why it is doing that.
    I guess I will try exporting a quicktime file first and then putting that file through compressor to see if that makes a difference. Any ideas from anybody?

    Exporting a quicktime file first still produced the pixelated frame. I'm not sure what else to try.

  • Alpha transparency for a SWFobject

    Hi everybody.
    I'm doing a image gallery based on a template called 'SimpleViewer' and I embeded on my html file, but it seems that alpha code doesn't work.

    </body>

    What do you mean by alpha code?
    Also if you are trying to have a transparent background in you swf file, this will not work (at this time), as the player itself has a 'stage' color set.
    There is also a problem with how you are inserting your <object> code for flash.
    (refer to - Help - index page has disappeared after removing code that was recommended regarding Flash
    in this forum for an example of how to (about 60% of the way down)).

  • What settings for exporting 1080p videos for Youtube recorded from FRAPS?

    Hello,
    I've tried a custom setting of mine which took an hour or so to render but came out blurry:
    Video:
    H264
    1920 x 1080
    Bitrate: 15
    VBR, 1 PASS
    29.97 FPS
    PAL
    And audio is just on default with 160 bitrate.
    The quality from FRAPS is perfect but as said before when inported in Premiere and then rendered its outputted blurry and jumpy.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • Keyword exporting bug also impacts catalogs imported from PSE 6

    Hi,
    I haven't seen any mention of it, but the keyword exporting bug reported for catalogs imported from LR 1.x also impacts catalogs imported from Photoshop Elements 6. i.e. all Keywords imported from my PSE 6 catalog have "Include in export", "Export Containing Keywords", and "Export Synonyms" properties set to false.
    I've reported the bug, but as it seems the same as described in KB 405074 (and more importantly, its fix works for formerly PSE catalogs as well!), I'm sure it will be fixed in the next update.
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb405074&sliceId=2
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Brian,
    When I installed the trial for LR2 I was asked whether I wanted to upgrade my existing PSE6 catalog.
    Screenshot of this can be found here: http://dawsons.id.au/temp/pse6-to-lr2-catalog.png
    That's it. I haven't imported any keywords via any other method.
    Thanks,
    Matt
    PS I'm impressed with the level of Lightroom team involvement in these forums. I've been a PSE user for at least 5 years and have never received feedback from that team re posts/support calls/feature request/bug reports. I've been a LR user for about two weeks and I've already had Tom and yourself reply to my posts. You've got to be happy with that!

  • Why can't I export a 24 bit PNG with alpha transparency?

    I have just upgraded my Macromedia Studio 8 to Adobe CS3, and
    it seems that I still can't export a 24 bit png with transparency
    from Fireworks (Photoshop can do it, but it's just not suited for
    volume graphic production). Anyone know something I don't, or can
    someone at least explain why I can have alpha transparency on 8 bit
    and 32 bit, but not 24 bit pngs? Currently, I'm planning to export
    everything from Fireworks, then batch-process through Photoshop to
    reduce from 32 bit to 24 bit, which is just... gah! Words fail
    me.

    If I'm correct, 8-bit png supports index transparency just
    like GIF's
    do. 32-bit png's support alpha channel transparency, so you
    can get
    variable or partial transparency in a full color image(8 bits
    for each
    color and 8 bits for an alpha channel) and 24-bit png's are
    similar
    jpegs, only you get lossless compression and no user-defined
    settings.
    So essentially, when you export a 32-bit png file you are
    exporting a 24
    bit color image with an 8-bit alpha channel.

  • "Preserve alpha transparency" with flattening for PDF

    For what reason, in Illustrator CS3, is the option for preserving alpha transparency not available in the PDF flattener, but only under the object menu by choosing Flatten Transparency...
    The reason i'm asking, is because when using some effects and spot colors, the background of the flattened object becomes a white bounding rectangle that overlaps other objects. I can workaround this by saving a copy, flatten all objects and then save a PDF. But isn't it possible to directly save a correctly flattened PDF from the original unflattened file with spot colors, without having to flatten the objects manually?

    here is an example, when I upload this image to the printers I loose the white background and eveything on the bottom of the card is pushed up. The same thing happens with the brochure I have. I can't upload that because this site will not allow it.

  • How to export a transparent image  background for the web

    Hi Everyone
    I have made a mock up webpage in adobe fireworks 5. I am  now in the process of using the slice tool to cut up the seperate parts and export them to dreamwever.
    My question is this: how do i slice the images in such a way that the background is transparent .
    Also,  when exporting the image that i have just made trasparent,  what do i need to do to expot it as a transparent background.
    warm regards
    Andreea

    When you're ready to transfer your Fireworks layout to DW select FILE > Image Preview. In Options select Format PNG8 and beneath the color grid change the No Transparency dropdown to Alpha Transparency.
    Click the Export button, name your file, choose the destination location, and in the dropdowns select Export > HTML and Images, HTML > Export HTML File, Slices > Export Slices, Pages > All Pages. (Also some choices may be handy for you in the Options button including Background Image for the exported file.)
    PNG can be used, just as JPG, TIFF, PICT, BMP and GIF, all of which are in your Options > Format dropdown list.
    Generally JPG is better for files that have gradients, GIF for simple images and text, but they don't do transparency so the larger PNG file is necessary for that.

  • Export with transparency / alpha

    I am doing a green screen key, and I prefer to compose the background with the keyed foreground i FCP. I am achieving great results with DV-keying in shake, and would like to export my keyed clips with their alpha layer, so that FCP will import it with alpha/transparency.
    I have tried exporting targa rgba, but cannot seem to render them out as a sequence. (Only one image is rendered, and the other frames are rendered in the same file, overwriting it).
    Is this possible, either trough a video format or through an image sequence or something?

    You need to put special characters in the filename to tell Shake where to put the frame numbers. # is for a 4-char padded number and @ is for an unpadded number.
    For example:
    MyFile.#.tiff returns MyFile.0001.tiff and MyFile.0100.tiff
    [email protected] returns MyFile.1.tiff and MyFile.100.tiff
    MyFile.@@.tiff returns MyFile.01.tiff and MyFile.100.tiff

  • Alpha transparency borders on dynamically loaded images for use with textures

    Hi there folks. Well, I have been beating my head over this
    and am hoping one of you can help me out.
    Essentially I have 16bit images that are loaded into my
    shockwave application at run-time. These images are user defined
    which means that I will not know their size ahead of time. Once the
    images are loaded I then create textures and apply them to various
    shaders. Ok, all of this works just fine. What I need to do though
    is create an alpha transparent border around the images, so when I
    apply them to their surfaces I only see the image and nothing
    around it. I am doing this because these images will only appear at
    specific parts on a surface, textureRepeat will be false, and many
    models will be stacked in the same exact location using the same
    model resource. I have everything working, but I cannot figure out
    the alpha part for the life of me. Also, when I test the alpha
    based image by itself it works just fine. It is not until I try and
    combine the 16bit (converted to 32bit at run-time) image that I run
    into problems.
    I have tried:
    - Creating a 32bit alpha image in Fireworks with a
    transparent border and a black rect for the inside. I then copy the
    dynamic image over the alpha image (only after going from 16bit to
    32bit in imaging Lingo) and leave a little room at the edges for
    the transparency. Well, I get a crazy amount of streaks here even
    when I try to up the trans border by around 24 pixels on each side.
    - Using another similiar alpha based image as a mask with
    copyPixels and extractAlpha/setAlpha like this... (code is a little
    rough here)
    newImage = new(#bitmap)
    newImage.name = "place_Test"
    newImage.image = member("place").image
    newAlpha = new(#bitmap)
    newAlpha.name = "AHH"
    newAlpha.image = image(newImage.image.width + 24,
    newImage.image.height + 24, 32)
    newAlpha.image.useAlpha = true
    newAlpha.image.copyPixels(member("vase").image,
    newAlpha.image.rect, member("vase").image.rect)
    newAlphaInfo = newAlpha.image.extractAlpha()
    newAlpha.image.useAlpha = false
    --reverse dark to light
    iAlphaReverse = image(newAlpha.image.width,
    newAlpha.image.height, 8, #grayscale)
    iAlphaReverse.fill(iAlphaReverse.rect, rgb(0,0,0))
    iAlphaReverse.copyPixels(newAlphaInfo, iAlphaReverse.rect,
    newAlphaInfo.rect, [#ink : #reverse])
    --newAlphaInfo.copyPixels(iAlphaReverse, newAlphaInfo.rect,
    iAlphaReverse.rect, [#ink:#subtractpin])
    newAlphaMask = iAlphaReverse.createMask()
    rescaleAbs(newImage, newImage.image.width,
    newImage.image.height, "place_Test", 32)
    destImage = member("place_Test").image.duplicate()
    destImage.fill(destImage.rect, rgb(0,0,0))
    newAlpha.image.useAlpha = false
    destImage.copyPixels(newImage.image, newImage.image.rect,
    newImage.image.rect, [#maskImage:newAlphaMask, #ink:#add])
    destImage.setAlpha(iAlphaReverse)
    destImage.useAlpha = true
    member("place_Test").image = destImage
    I apologize for the messy code. I have cut and pasted from
    all over the place and am getting confused. In any case, I think I
    am making this harder then it needs to be and hope someone can
    help.
    Thank you in advance,
    Dave

    Hi, you can try using other texture layer as mask on the same
    shader. As usually you create the texture from a dynamic loaded
    image, then apply this texture to the shader on the texture list
    index 1 (textureList[1]). Next part does the job, create other
    texture from a 32 bits image with the alpha information and fill
    all pixels with white color, this is very important because the
    second texture layer will be multiply with the first texture layer.
    This texture set its render format to rgba8888. Apply the mask
    texture to the same shader at texture list index 2, verify that the
    blendFunctionList index 2 is #multiply.
    I include the code of a project that use this masking
    approach:
    property pMember
    property pEarthSphere
    property pNightSphere
    property pLastTransform
    on beginSprite me
    pMember = sprite(me.spriteNum).member
    me.setupWorld()
    end
    on setupWorld(me)
    pMember.resetWorld()
    repeat with i = pMember.light.count down to 1
    pMember.deletelight(i)
    end repeat
    vEarthModelResource = pMember.newModelResource("EARTH MODEL

  • Issue in Exporting the Sales Price List and Purchase Price List for the Materials from SAP Business ByDesign (SAP Cloud)

    Hello Everyone,
    I would like to have a discussion on the issues, which I am facing at the time of Exporting the Sales Price List and Purchase Price List for the Materials from
    SAP Business ByDesign (SAP Cloud).
    (1). Sales Price List :
    We have maintained Customer Group Specific Sales Price List for the Materials in the following Location.
    Location :         Product and Service Portfolio Work Center > Pricing > Price Lists > Customer Group Specific Price List (Type of Price List)
    Target :             We want to export the entire records in some reports or excel sheet.
    Records :          Number of Materials in the Customer Group Specific Price List is more than 2,00,000
    Issues :
                                         (A). In the SAP Business ByDesign Screen we can filter by number of records but we can export till  50,000 records.
                                                 And if we are trying to export records more than that limit, then it throws "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error".
                                         (B). We could not find any SAP standard reports in Product and Service Portfolio and/or Business Analytics Work Center
                                                for getting the entire record set of the Sales Price List, so that we can have the entire set of records together.
    Searching For :
                                          (A). Is there any SAP reports or data source available for getting the entire Sales Price List records?
                                          (B). Can we have any other filter conditions for exporting the Sales Price List records in a single shot or module wise?
    (2). Purchase Price List :
    We have maintained the Purchase Price List for the Materials in the following Location.
    Location :           Product Portfolio Work Center > List Prices > Active List Prices (Type of Price List)
    Target :               We want to export the entire records in some reports or excel sheet.
    Records :            Number of Materials in the Purchase Price List is more than 4,00,000.
    Issues :
                                           (A). In the SAP Business ByDesign Screen we can not see more than 10,000 records and the actual number of
                                                   records are more than 4,00,000. We could able to download the records till 10,000 but that is not sufficient.
                                                   We want to export the entire records in an excel sheet.
                                           (B). We could not find any SAP standard reports in Product Portfolio and/or Business Analytics Work Center for
                                                  getting the entire record set of the Purchase Price List, so that we can have the entire set of records together.
    Searching For :
                                           (A). Is there any SAP reports or data source available for getting the entire Purchase Price List records?
                                           (B). Can we have any other filter conditions for exporting the Purchase Price List records in a single shot or module wise?
    Please go through the attached screen shots for the references and more clarity on the issues.
    I am waiting for the valuable responses.
    Thanks and regards,

    Dear Michael,
    The number of records :
    2 Million (Approximately) is for the Sales Price List Material Price Data
    4 Million (Approximately) is for the Purchase Price List Material Price Data.

  • Export Alpha in a "Transparent" HD Project

    I understand how to export normal fills and mattes separately in SD.
    Is there a trick to exporting in HD?
    I have a moving lens flare and I want a travel matte.
    Right now, the matte snaps on as a solid white screen.
    I want to keep this separate to be able to submit to iStock.

    In After Effects, we use a product called Xmult. It samples a layer and creates a perfect alpha channel for it. It's the trick for using lens flares. I see no analog in Motion but you should be able to fake it by using channels. You want to shift all of the luma information to the alpha so you can crete a lovely matte.
    Umm, no idea if this helps and can't check it. I'm not at my Motion machine for the next week.

  • Why does my RAW image look grainy when I export it in to Photoshop CC from Lightroom for editing?

    Why does my RAW image look grainy when I export it in to Photoshop CC from Lightroom for editing?
    Checked LR's setting for Ps export and they haven't changed since it was OK a few days ago? It is OK if you zoom in but in 'fit page' it looks terrible!

    I have exactly the same problem and it has got worse today as the photos also now open in smaller windows for some reason

  • Why can I no longer export alpha channels in the new FCPX update (10.0.6)?

    While the new update is rich with new goodies- I am having some issues doing some things.  My main concern is the inability to export alpha channels in the 10.0.6 updated version of FCPX.
    I followed the following steps, same as before the update.
    I used the Keying effect to remove the greenscreen and did some cleanup using the "sample color" refining tool.
    I cropped and resized the clip so that the actor is the correct size for my clip.
    Now it looks great in FCPX, except that I now need to put that footage into Motion 5 and do some motion tracking and match move.
    I export the keyed clip as Apple Pro Res 4444
    Now when I import that file into Motion 5 everything that is supposed to be transparant is black!
    Is there an additional setting in the new version that I need to fix in order to export alphas?  Is there a new way to do it?
    I am operating Mountain Lion, OSX Version 10.8.2 with a 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor.
    Thank you so much!  This is a key element in almost all the projects I do and now I am stuck!

    You got me curious so had to test and validate some of the above, forgive me if I go a little OT in the process.
    Have you set your background to checkerboard, I find psycologically this makes a difference, though in exporting it does not...
    screen grab below, from 422 timeline, showing original, exported 444 and then imported file comp'd in and scaled down for differentiation in FCPX, note that the project render parameter is actually set to 422 NOT 444 as fox_m suggested, it still works.
    This one below shows the above scenario exported 444, with background set to black in pref's, note the overlap showing transparency, again in FCPX. This is purely to illustrate that the checkerboard and black backgrounds are not relevant, only that the 444 on export is relevant.
    Hopefully this illustrates that cropping and 444 exports are working.

  • Appending alpha transparency swatches to a CLUT

    I have a 160 swatch color table I generated in PS and I'd
    like to append some alpha transparency values to it for PNG8
    processing.
    In Fireworks CS4 I've loaded up a test image, successfully
    loaded in the .act file I exported from PS and then selected 'Alpha
    Transparency' from the trns pulldown menu. Briefly some new
    swatches show up in the swatch palette, but then they disappear.
    I've tried everything I can think of. If there was a way to
    manually add and edit the transparency swatches to the act that
    would be ideal, but when I try to add swatches to the table I don't
    see any way to edit the transparency value, only RGB/HEX etc.. I'm
    somewhat stuck at the moment.
    Is there a way to do this? Maybe even some sort of
    independent color table editor?
    It's important that I have exact control over the CLUT file
    used as the device that the images will be running on can only have
    one CLUT active at any time, and all of the images in the UI need
    to be built to reference this single table.
    Another tangental issue I've encountered is that the PNG8
    alpha transparency in FW seems to be restricting itself for some
    reason. For example, I've created a 256 pixel wide image in PS with
    a black ramp that goes from 100% opaque to 100% transparent across
    x-axis. I open this in FW, select PNG8, adaptive, 256 colors, alpha
    transparency and I only get 16 swatches (4bit?), completely
    faceting my ramp - however I've seen others online getting 8bit
    values of transparency using this same method...
    For example
    Here
    and
    Here
    Any and all feedback much appreciated.
