Exporting an uncompressed movie out of AE

I just upgraded to Mtn Lion from Snow Leopard.  One difference is I used to be able to export a QT movie out of AE that was uncompressed.  Now that option is gone, have to compress it with one of the many options. I have a sound added so I can't export stills.  The uncompressed will give me more options as i create different formats. Thanks!!

You can't uninstall QuickTime X, as such. It's an embedded part of OS X these days.
You can download QuickTime 7 from here:

  • Exporting Full HD Movies out of iMovie09

After creating a project in iMovie I usually export a Full Quality (1920x1080) and keep it as a back up. In the old iMovie HD that was easy, you just exported a full quality video. Can somebody tell me how to do it in iMovie 09? It gives you two choices, either MPEG or .MOV. Which one is better? Also it gives you several options under both choices, which one is better?

I am not at home to play with it directly, but as I recall, I just go to Share -> Export... and then I pick the "Large" option which is the original size of my file. I don't recall getting any choices of file format.
Oh wait, now that I think about it, I have been using iMovie exclusively with my Xmas present, a Flip MinoHD which does MP4 files. So I probably don't get the option because it just writes out the same MP4 file. I haven't had a chance to start importing some of my older DV formatted videos.
You are working with HD, right? So the original format is MPEG I believe? MPEG2? Does iMovie do some sort of conversion on the imported HD video? I think I recall that MPEG2 will be converted to something else (DV perhaps?) while my MPEG4 videos are imported directly and not converted.
So I assume the choices you are given represents MPEG = Compression while MOV probably means no compression?
Boy, I guess I am not being to helpful here, am I. I am starting to confuse myself.

  • Bringing in an uncompressed .mov...when exported, comes out lower quality??

    hello
i am dealing with a project using adobe flash cs3 and final cut pro 2 on a mac.
i am exporting a quicktime from flash and then bringing that .mov into FC to edit, add music, etc.
when i export from final cut, i see that the clip isnt as crisp as it was when i originally exported from flash?
im wondering what could be the issue. the clip itself is short, roughly ten seconds, although, even if my final result would be a 300 mb clip to still retain that perfect quality, i won't mind.
when i exported from flash, i had to do different trial and errors to get it to keep its full quality. the aspect ratio is 720X480 .. although upon export trying an NTSC it was extremly pixelated. i just ended up doing an uncompressed, no codec, quicktime export...having the final result be 350mb for ten seconds! either way, i love the final result. nice and crisp.
i brought this into final cut...heres the problem, what i am assuming is happening, is there is a setting wrong in the sequence settings. here is what i have it currently set to:
    in the general tab:
frame size 720X480 NTSC DV (3:2)
pixel aspect ratio NTSC - CCIR 601
    field dominace none
    editing timebase 30
    compressor non
    quality 100%
    advanced - compressor none / quality 100%
^^^ i thought maybe the whole ntsc issue is what causes the slight lower quality, considering even though it is the same aspect ratio its not dv footage but just an uncompressed flash video quicktime
^^^ i tried changing the aspect ratio next to frame size to custom/ custom (3:2) ... everytime i clicked okay, and re-opened the seq. settings, it resorted back to ntsc automatically
also the pixel aspect ratio section (the one directly under) only lets you choose ntsc , square pix, or hd - there wasn't even a custom thing to choose for that one
the problem with my final export is that is has slight artifacting on the edges of things...
maybe it isnt the sequence settings, for when i changed the settings to this, the little video box in the canvas of the fcp interface has no artifacting.
so possibly it can be the export settings in final cut?
if i do an export in FC which is an ntsc, it comes out extremly pixelated
the closest thing i can get to 100 quality is doing an uncompressed 10 bit....which is still causing the slight artifacting on the edges of objects.
any ideas of what i can do to fix this problem? it would be extremly appreciated and thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
    thankyou,
    -Mike

    UPDATE:
    i discovered a way,
    upon export,
instead of choosing uncompressed, i chose custom,
i then typed in whatever and exported...came out clean.
i don't know what uncompressed 10 bit caused artifacting though

  • Sound drop out when exporting to Quicktime movie.

One track of three sound tracks drops out after a few seconds then reappears a few seconds later when exporting to QT Movie. The project functions perfectly when printing to video. Am using QT 7.1.3 FCE HD 3

    Hi(Bonjour)!
Try to make an "audio-mixdown" of your final sequence
    in timeline.
    Michel Boissonneault
Thanks for the info. I managed to overcome the problem initially by copying onto miniDV then re-capturing and exporting the result., but Mix Down is much nicer.
However, prior to upgrading to FCE-HD, I am fairly certain I have made more complex projects with no problems. Now quite frequently I get a message suggesting I reduce the number of RT tracks, or increase the speed of my computer. Is there something in FCE HD that requires these modifications, or have I a rogue project.
Does anyone know what is the actual difference between High Medium & Low qualities with Audio & Video?
    Thanks

  • Final Cut Pro difficulty exporting QuickTime movie out to external drive

Hi every one I hope some one can help me figure out why whenever I export a Quicktime movie and save it on an external LaCie drive, two files come out with the same name but one has an -av1 extension. And if I delete that file the original movie doesn't play.
    Any one has any idea???
    please help!
    thanks.
    Pataky

Your external drive is probably formatted as MS-DOS. It has a file size limit of either 2Gb if formatted as FAT16 or 4GB if formatted as FAT32.
In either case, reformat the drive to Mac OS Extended. You will lose any material on the drive in the reformat process unless you copy it to another drive.

  • Exporting Audio to Movie, doesn;t export the audio

When I try Option>Movie>Export Audio to movie It rendereds but doesn't actully put the music into the video. Worked in 7.1 doesn;t work in 7.2.1 any plans on fixing this?

Indeed, thats what I do, but the time saving and
simiplicity of the 'Export audio to movie..."
function puts it at the top of the 'features that
really should work' for us composers to picture!
Hopefully it will be fixed soon with an update.
It's not broken. To be sure I went and tried it myself
and it worked fine. I did not even have to set the
locators, which I thought I would have to. I just dropped
the movie on a project and went to the menu. It did bring
up some dialog box I had not seen before. Something about
adding the tracks to use. It only showed track 1 but since I
could not figure out how to add the tracks I just hit OK and
it rendered all of them. Hope you get yours back up.

  • Can't get movie out of FCP

Hi, I have just created a fairly simple 75-minute movie in FCP 7, and for the life of me, I can't send it to Compressor to make files for creating a DVD. Compressor will do its thing for a few hours, then "Failed". Then out of curiosity, I tried to export it to a simple Final Cut Movie (not 'self-contained') and all I got was spinning pie. I just don't know what to try to get this movie out of FCP! Any suggestions would be most welcome.
    Thanks, Bob
    MacPro  10.6.6

It will be useful if you give us some specifics.
What is the codec of the source media? H.264, HDV, DVCProHD or ? (Quicktime is not a codec. It is a wrapper that can support a wide range of codecs.)
Where is the media stored? System hard drive, second internal drive, external firewire drive, or ?
What are the timeline setttings? What codec is it using?
Your explaination of your process is very unclear. Have you tried exporting the project using "Current settings" and "self contained". Then take that file into Compressor.

  • Move out Info Provider to other server without transport connection?

    Hi All,
Could you share you thought ?
Is there a possibility to move out the info provider design & info object to other server without transport connection ?
The background is our project box will be decommissioned, and unfortunately it's not connected to development box. We've already found how to move out ABAP program, we generate it to XML, than upload it.
How about for info provider itself / info Object ? Is there a possibility to have the same treatment ?
Any thought from all of you ?
If you have the way, appreciate if you can share it to me.
Thanks a lot and have a good day,
    Best regards,
    Daniel N.

    Hi,
From transport side, it is possible. You can create a dummy transport target system, then collect BI objects in request and release it. After release, the exported data is in dir_trans, you can manually copy it to realy target server, put them in dir_trans, and in STMS import Q, select from menu of import external request and import it.

  • Export to Quicktime movie continued crashes. HELP

I have sequence, it renders no problem. Whenever I go to export to Quicktime movie it crashes. I have gone and deleted all files associated with it and redone the sequence from scratch, and I keep getting the same results. Crash while exporting. I am working in DV, so all I do at export is export to Quicktime movie, which means it should be exporting as a DV movie. I am not sure what is wrong please help.
As always thanks in advance for reading and replying to my Post,
    Sebastian

I did try burning the 18.05GB file on i-DVD but even with the auto compression of i-DVD it only managed to compress it down to 5.4GB - too large for my 4.7GB DVD.
The only reason I need to burn it so my friend can author it is that he's a little too fussy and wants to author it on Adobe Encore.
I managed to get a firewire drive - but the blooming PC didnt accept it as it was Mac formated!
I just exported the original file as a QT movie, reducing sound quality, frame rate etc but it still comes out at 17.5GB - still to large for i-DVD (and thats with i-DVD's compression, which comes in at approx 5GB!)
I really really blame myself for this as I never really looked into anything more than the creative aspect of FCP. But I've started now.

  • Logic 9 "Export Audio to Movie" command

What happened to the "Export Audio to Movie" command that used to be under the file menu? This is something I sorely need back.Trying to import audio into Motion 5 is not working out well - even with rendering set at the lowest settings (same with FCP10). I like to be able to see my results as I'm working, not watch choppy playback and guess where to drop in the audio. I'm running an 8 core Mac Pro with 32 G of RAM and I'm wondering if anyone has used a good work around for this problem. I wish I never updated.

I just used Quicktime Player to open the movie and dragged a bounced down version of my Logic audio on top of it. I "Saved As" and it worked fine!

  • Export to QT Movie/File Size Triples?

    Hello fine folks,
Having a problem exporting a long sequence out of FCP to a QuickTime Movie (NOT self contained), for import into iDVD.
The final file that is created is 22 gb! Way too large to use easily in iDVD. (And way too slow in creating it, obviously.) I also tried it as self-contained, but that was so slow that I canceled it (45 minutes, and 15 percent done). I am using chapter markers.
The assets in total are only about 7.5 gb, and I'm not using all of the assets, just edited parts of them.
I have done this before, but not on my laptop, as I am doing now (on the road for the holidays).
Anyone have any advice for what I'm doing wrong/what the issue is?

    Hi Jim,
    Thanks for the response.
I'm using a PowerBook G4 1.5, with 1 gb of ram. Using FCP 4.5. I have only the internal drive, so all files are on the system drive.
I'm intrigued by your idea of rendering. I had problems rendering. Quite a bit of it needed to be rendered (especially audio -- there are many mp3s in the sequence). I would select render all, and it would render a bit of it, then quit with a "general error." I had to select render all several times ... actually once for each mp3 in the sequence -- before the whole thing was finally done. I've never had to do this before.
(Another issue I was having -- not sure if this helps -- my sequence contains a couple of old home movies transferred into dv ... they have audio files attached, but the home movies are silent. So before I placed these assets into FCP, I opened the home movie files in QTPro, to export them without sound/get rid of the soundtracks. I have also done this before on my MacPro, with success. But on my laptop, this exporting from QTPro was so slow and ponderous that I gave up ... it would have taken me three or four hours just to export a 2.6. gb file into another file without audio. So again, I gave up.
There is something going on that I can't quite figure out.)
    Many thanks.
    John

  • FCP export to "QuickTime Movie" distorts aspect ratio of all text, displays video correctly.

    Hi you all,
My name is Alexander, I'm from Belgium.
I'm working on Final Cut Pro 6.0.6, on a MacBook Pro with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, running version 10.7.2 of Mac OS X (Lion).
I'm editing a 'making of' of a Flemish feature film. I shot this 35 minute documentary short with my own Canon HDV-camcorder (XH-A1). The Final Cut Pro-project is stored on an external hard drive (1 TB LaCie Minimus).
I've been doing exports to "QuickTime Movie" for years now, without any problems, but since a week or two, FCP started messing up the titles over the video - and the titles only. Their aspect ratio is messed up once exported, but they look just fine in the FCP Timeline (in Viewer, I can verify that the aspect ratio of the titles is always "0"). I'm trying to export this to "HDV - 720p25".
Here's a comparison between the two:
As you can see: the MOV has the titles' aspect ratio all weird, the upper one partly covering the lower one. All titles and text in the docu come out like this, but the video (and audio) is exported correctly.
Any ideas on how to solve this very annoying problem?
    Many thanks!!
    Alexander

    Hi Studio X,
Thank you for your quick reply.
The producers of the film want to upload this making of-documentary on YouTube. Therefore, I need to give them a high-quality-mov with the least possible Megabites. My film has a 35 minute running time.
So I figured: Let's start with the 'smallest' high-quality FCP-export to begin with (HDV-720p25), and throw that one in Compressor, in order to end up with a 'small' but good looking H.264-MOV for YouTube.
But for some reason, those "HDV-720p25"-exports mess up the titles. And I can't figure out why.

  • How do I export audio to movie without original music

When I export audio to movie and I open the new quicktime file there is music I didn't write as well as my own music. In the manual, after I choose the desired format options for the bounced audio file, and I enter a name and target folder for the movie a dialog is supposed to appear allowing me to choose which of the original audio tracks should be included in the new movie. That dialog box doesn't appear on my computer.

    Try this.
Bounce out your music from logic.
Import Quicktime movie into the old i-movie (haven't tried the new one yet.) from here, you can extract the original audio.
Import your new music into i-movie, and lay it against the picture.
    Export your new movie.

  • Can't export audio to movie

    Hi
I am trying to add music to some video footage taken with a digital camera. I was unable to extract the audio from the footage onto my arrange window using import audio from movie. I received a message saying "no active extrac
table audio to be found" (though there is audio in the footage). Then when I exported audio to movie I found that the movie was unchanged, the soundtrack I had created did not play and the original audio remained as well.
    Any help would be appreciated.

H,thanks for the advice, I'll try it out tonight. Yeah I bought quick time pro especially to work with film in logic. I am soon to start working on a project with a film student friend of mine. I was literally tearing my hair out for two days figuring I had done something wrong and it turns out that this problem seems to be part of an apple conspiracy to hush up this flaw. That and the fact apple seem barely contactable when there is an issue with one of their problems only adds to the frustration. I expected more I have to say.

  • HELP! : No "Export Audio To Movie" option

    Hi
I've just finished a sync project and need to 'export' to movie. When I go to the file menu or right click on the movie track, the "Export Audio to Movie" function is not there.
PLEASE can anybody help. I have to deliver the pitch tonight. I'm running 9.1.3 64bit.
    Many thanks
    Jules

Mike is right. The reason why Logic9 doesn't have the Export Audio To Movie feature is the current state of Quicktime. Remember that the basic video capabilities of Logic are not written into the Logic code but outsourced to the Quicktime components in OSX (Don't invent the wheel twice). Based on a statement by Steve Jobs, the new Final Cut version should arrive in 2011 and you might think it will be 64bit, dragging QuickTime along with it, followed by a quick Logic update - maybe.
If this helps, here is my current workaround:
I work in 64bit with a separate project file for each music cue on a video based project. When I'm done, I bounce the audio.
Now I have also one master project, that also uses the current video and has the exact (important) sync settings. I use that project to import each previously bounced audio cue. If your sync settings are the same with all the individual projects and the master projects then you can import one or many audio files and with one command "Move to original recording position" all the audio files line up perfectly in sync.
_The advantages of that master project_:
    1) You run that project in 32bit mode and therefore are able to use "Export audio to movie"
    2) You can make rough mixes of your video (audio against dialog) for approvals or your own reference. Having these little videos with you at the dubbing stage can take prove very easy if the music editor messed up your cue.
    3) You can export videos of individual cues, sections or the whole video (at least reels, if the movie is broken down in separate reels)
    4) Easy handling/mixing of separate cues that overlap
    5) Quick comparison of different versions of a cue which of course are all imported into the master project6)- Quick timing references for Cue Sheet preperation
    7) In case of a picture edit, this the master project is also an amazing tool to figure out how messed up your music will be with the new picture cut. Im
