Exporting Business Rules from command prompt

Hi,
I'm wondering if there is any way to export Business Rules to XML automatically through command prompt (instead of manually doing it through EAS Console).

You cannot do export/import as it is from sqlplus...
You may be able to write pl/sql code using DBMS_DATAPUMP package..

AS console hangs when trying export business rules

Hi,
when i try to export business rules from administration services console it hangs and task manager shows admincon.exe 100% cpu usage.

Hi Timur,
I ran into the same trouble. I could get 5-7 rules at a time exported just fine. but more than that it would just run and run for hours.
One option is perhaps increase your java heap sizes for EAS.
Another option which we did was to change security to be by project instead of by rule and this made our exports much faster
This was with Hyperion 9.2.1

Unable to run discoverer report from command prompt

Hi,
I'm trying to run the discoverer report from command prompt and i need to schedule the same.
How could i pass multiple values for the parameters?
If i don't pass the optional parameters, the parameter screen is getting pop-up? How to skip optional parameters?
Also, how to pass the data ranges (format for date parameters) ?
I'm using the below command in command prompt:

How could i pass multiple values for the parameters? You should be able to use a comma separated list e.g.
/parameter "Observation Name" "'Abdominal Girth','Abdominal Girth2'"
How to skip optional parameters?I don't think you can. You have to supply all parameters and then decode out the parameters you don't need in the workbook.
how to pass the data ranges You cannot pass a date range. You can pass a start and end parameters. The default format for the date parameters is DD-MON-YYYY but this can change depending on the NLS settings and format of the data item.

Migrate Business Rules from 9.x to 11.x

I am trying to migrate business rules from 9.21 to V11.1.1.3
I used to export the rules, then edit the XML for the correct server and location names, then import into the target server-all with 9.21
Now when I try the same process, I get this error when importing into V11.1.13
Detail:Error while importing object properties.
Detail:com.hyperion.hbr.beans.UserObjAccessFilter.setUserGroupName(java.lang.String)
I can use the migrate repository option just fine, but then I have to go in with a SQL script and update the location and server names in the relational tables. I prefer the export/import since I can do that without impacting users.
Any ideas on how to import the rules and resolve this error?

Hmm no luck with one rule that has no security assigned to it. and no luck with one project with no security.

Executiong Business Rules from ODI on Linux

Hi,
I would like to execute Business Rules from ODI. I know that it is possible with the CmdLnLauncher command on Windows, but I don't know how to do on Linux ?
Thanks to John Goodwin, I know it's possible using the KM, but it is not my favorite issue. I would prefer using a command if it's possible.
Does an OS command exists to execute Business Rules from ODI on Linux ?

I have made a temporary directory logged as root user:
Then login as root:
$mkdir /vol2/newtmp

$export TEMPDIR=/vol2/newtmp

I'm trying to run a ODI scenario from command prompt. I've edited the tnsnames.ora and odiparam.bat file with exact host and port details. Even though I'm facing the below error.

Hi,
Are you able to start the Standalone Agent(KANBAN) and test it in the Topology?
Check the value of the ODI_MASTER_URL variable in odiparams file(at the path <ODI_HOME>\oracledi\agent\bin) of the agent.
Specify the full the JDBC URL properly not like localhost(until the DB is on same machine as your ODI).

Error while Invoking SQLPLUS from Command Prompt

Test Execution hangs while executing a test from Command prompt option

I have done the following
1) Created a script Test driver
2) Added different scripts as Script->Properties->Assets to the driver script
3) Call each of this asset script from TestDriver using command getScript("<<ScrptName>>".run(1, true, true, true);
4) Now calling this TestDriver script from command prompt with command

runScript.bat E:\\INTEGRATION_SERVICES\\Identity_management\\Automation\\Scripts\\MasterScripts\\TestDriver

The script execution hangs at "Initializing VU 1 for Script TestDriver. After few mintues of seeing this message i get error "Execution Timed Out".
Do I need to keep openscript UI open for script execution from command line ?
Is there any way to increase this Execution Time out ? May be it is taking time to load the internal script assets. AS other scripts are running fine on the same machine from command prompt itself.

How to create business rules from Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0

Dear Experts
Can I able to create Oracle Business rules from My JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0. Using this link They are creating repositories, rule sets for their BPEL process, But in my version I cant found <BPEL components> under component palette. Why these features are missing, to get those additional features what I have to do.. ? Please suggest your best for me.
Also Is it possible to build business rules from java sdk & from rule author..? If so means what is the difference, which one is having advantage.

Can't create database from command prompt

I am using Oracle 9i over Win XP. I can create new database using OEM wizard without any problem. However, when I try to create new database from command prompt, using following commands, I get an error.
sqlplus /nolog
connect / as internal (when I issue this I get message TNS no listener)
CONNECT SYS/password AS SYSDBA (can't understand how to use this, I don't have password because I've not created the database)
Can anyone help me how to create new database from command prompt?

"TNS No Listener" => Start the listener
To be connected as SYSDBA you dont need a password if your are logged in the DBA group, you just have to :

How to Get Input from Command Prompt?

How can i get input from command prompt like

or linux ?

The main method within a java class accepts command line input through a String array.
In this example args is the String array. You can access the parameters as args[0] for the first parameter, args[1] for the second parameter, etc....
The usage for the example below would be :
c:\EDIFormat file1 file2
Where args[0] would equal file1 and args[1] would equal file2.

Call an ABAP program or a function module from command prompt/python script

Dear All,
I want to call a function module/ABAP program from command prompt or a python script.
Let me explain with an example.
There is a function module "z_add" that takes two integers as input parameters and generates their sum.
the sum is the output parameter.
Now i want to call this function module from command prompt / python script and pass parameters to this function module.
In return i must get the sum(i.e. the output of function module).
I tried using STARTRFC ,was able to call the FM but could not get the return value(output) from FM.
Can you please provide me the code of such a function module and the method to call it thereby passing parameters and getting the sum.
