Exporting camera back to CS4

Just wanted to know if it were  possible to export a camera back from CS5 to CS4.
Basically I've  exported a camera from 3ds max to AE (using max2ae), which is working  fine, but I'm supplying a client with this camera so they can track live  action footage over it. They're using CS4, and I'm on CS5.
Is there a  simple fix for this?
It would save a lot of ball-ache.
Thanks guys!

You can't save projects for a previous version, but you can copy and paste information from one version to the next, with some fidelity. If you have After Effects CS4, also, try copying and pasting layers from After Effects CS5 to After Effects CS4 to transfer what you need.
You can also export keyframe data in text format, and you can then import it into a different version.

I'm going back to cs4 after using cs6 and I can't open nef files in camera raw.

Each camera needs a specific camera raw version (ACR).  And each ACR is tied to a specific version of PS.  See this list http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

  • How do I export photos back onto a camera SD card? I have created a desktop file for photos and SD card in Finder, dragged photos to card, but when I try to view them in the camera, it says "No valid photo to display"

How do I export photos back onto a camera SD card? I have created desktop files for the photos and the card, dragged photos to the card, but when I replace card in camera, it says "No valid photo to display". I just need to get some prints made and have been struggling with this for hours. Thank you.

No one can help you any more than has been done
Your camera is not a general purpuose photo display system - it is designed to take photos, let you look at those photos and allow you to download them to your computer or other places - if you wnat to use it view photos then you have to put the photos in exactly the correct place with exactly the correct names or it will not see them
And this has absolutely nothing to do with iPhoto in any way - iPhoto sotres and proecesses yoru photos and allows you to export them - once you export them it is totally out of the picture - you can easily get photo prints by using the iPhoto print service, using an internet print service, burning photos to a DVD and taking them to a print service or putting them on a SD card and taking them to a print service - to view them on your camera you have to exactly reporduce what the camera is looking for - not at all sure what the pirnt even is

  • How to set ID-CS4 color to adjust when proof came back too black

We published a colour book in 2008 using a conventional printer in Singapore. Then we had the US/UK version done using Lightning Source in USA. The LS colours in photographs came back a bit too black, perhaps with a bit too much green as well, and also less saturated due to the uncoated paper. Now we are looking at a second edition of that book using LS. So, it's time to try to get it right.
We calibrated an HP LP2475W (Win 7 pro) and have been able to get a close match with the book colour using Colour settings. Now the monitor colours of the ID file (ID-CS4 V 6.0.4) look as "off" as the book.
Is it possible to make changes to the book images as a whole, or do we now need to use Photoshop to tweak every single image (over 400 of them)?
Our objective is to get better colours in print form which means we may get it, now that the monitor seems to display WYSIWYG. If it is possible to change an output setting rather than tweak each image, we would appreciate recommended settings using simple English or even print-keys; please presume our knowledge level is lower than this forum's membership and industry jargon and deep colour knowledge will go over our heads.
Also, is there a step-by-step explanation of each element in colour settings that is designed for managers (meaning people who are not the professionals, but who supervise the staff)? We seek to understand the variables that gave us the off-colour results in the beginning. Our managers  know when the result is not good, but they need to know enough to give the staff the right instructions to get it right. In this request, we seek documentation or a web site that does not presume the viewer is an experienced Adobe designer or a colour-experienced printer.

The precise answer is this:  You need someone who understands colour management.  You need images that are made correctly and give them to that person to prepare the book.
If the images are not good or do not contain necessary colour management information, you need someone with colour skills to adjust them and apply correct colour management profiles.
Your colour management guru can then prepare a print file using the correct settings to suit the target print house.
If your job is supplied with incorrect settings, you will not get a correct output, no matter how correct the print shop's workflow is. (settings are specific to the printery)
Many people come here asking the same thing, many assume that colour management is largely automatic or logical, it is not!  Most assume that if their images look good on screen they will reproduce well, which is also incorrect.  Sadly we cannot teach a complete workflow in this forum (although we sometimes try) because there are too many variables and there is a massive amount of knowledge to impart to people who often have no previous background and it is an impracticable task for them to accomplish in order to complete their current job and they get frustrated.
If you can either pass the job to someone who knows the routine or get some first hand help from such a person, you can control the job, if not, you will probably be frustrated by the multiple variables in the job creation process and sometimes indifferent support from printeries (especially offshore).
I deal with jobs like this daily and it has taken me many years to be comfortable in sending a 'coffee table' job with total confidence.  I allow myself a rate of about 10-15 images per hour to adjust and check, so 400 images is the best part of a week's work but after that I would send to a reputable printer and get almost exactly the same result I get on my local calibrated proofing machine (not monitor!).
If you send a job with incorrect or missing profiling, you will blame the printer in your mind but it would not really be their fault, because if the images are correctly prepared and the printery has a correct workflow (most do), the job will be perfect.
Having said that, you could try learning the whole process, but the chances of getting it all right on job number one are very slim, due to the difficulty of the task and the dearth of accurate and clear instructions in the applications or on the web. (there are also many subjective judgements made in adjusting the images that you can only learn by practice over thousands of images!)

  • I have Keynote'09. I started a new Keynote document, closed it, came back to continue on it. I tried to open it and received the drop-down window "need a newer version of Keynote to open this document." ???

I have Keynote '09 and have used it many times. Today I started another Keynote document, stopped for a while, came back to continue, and received, "You need a newer version of Keynote to open this document."  ?? Stumped.

IOS Pages 2.0 and 2.1 implement an entirely incompatible document format with Pages ’09 v4.3. It cannot open them, and you are then prompted to update to Pages v5+ which is compatible with your IOS Pages.
Unfortunately, updating to Pages v5+ is a bad thing, as it is a brand new application that has omitted over 90+ features from Pages ’09 v4.3. When you update to Pages v5+, it will move your old still functional version of the earlier Pages into /Applications/iWork. Aside from all the missing functionality, Pages v5+ will likely damage older documents that depend on specific Pages ’09 v4.3 features (including AppleScript and custom Templates).
Oh, by the way, the older and new Pages documents have the same filename extension (.pages) making document organization difficult without applying different tag colors to old and new documents.
We are recommending that users remain on their earlier Pages version. You may have to export documents from IOS Pages as Word .docx to avoid the OS X Pages update notice.

  • Freezes when exporting .mov files in CS4 / Adobe Media Encoder

For the past 7 hours now I have been trying every internet remedy for the following problem, and was wondering if any of you nice people could help:
I just came back from a ski trip, and wanted to make an edit featuring my fiends. I recorded large parts of the trip on my new iPhone, both in 720p 120fps (120.15fps, h.264 1280*720) and the normal 1080p 30fps. iPhone files are in the .mov format. I also recorded some parts on a GoPro hero hd2 camera at both 720p 60fps and 1080p 30fps. GoPro files are in the MP4 format, and i've never had a probvlem with them.
Now all imports fine into premiere pro, and although I had a few problems with freezing while editing initially, this was quickly solved by terminating all unused (non-adobe) processes in task manager.
So I spent a good 4 hours making a 2.5 minute edit of our day, and wanted to export it.
So I selected the sequence, and went file>export>media, selected all of the preferences i wanted for exporting, and sent it to the Adobe media encoder.
The media encoder loads the files for a few seconds, and then starts the encoding process. And promptly freezes. It freezes at around 10-20 seconds (depending on export preferences) after starting to encode, and never restarts. i can then pause the encode, but cancelling it crashes adobe media encoder and subsequently also crashes Premiere Pro.
I may be mistaken here, but I have a strong suspicion that It is quicktime that is causing all this.
    So I tried the following:
    - reinstalling, downgrading, updating, etc. Quicktime
    - renaming file extensions from .mov to .mp4
    - all sorts of export preferences, from image sequences to dvd to blueray and dv. (Image sequences, interestingly, occasionally export to about half a minute into the video(also depending on preferences), then freeze)
    - crossing my fingers
    - checking for gaps in video, found none
    - updating premiere pro and media encoder
    - throwing my mouse at the wall in frustration
    - making a new project with different settings and copying in the sequence
    - disabling "Include source xmp metadata"
    - making a new user account and trying it there
Is there anything else I can try?
Could I copy the project itself into a different program (e.g. iMovie or Windows Movie Maker) and export from there?
Is there an alternative to Adobe media encoder?
    Need more information?
    Thanks for the help!
    Specs:
    Premiere version: 4.2.1
    Encoder version: 4.2.0.006
    Comp specs:
    16Gb ram
    quad core i5
256 Gb solid state (system, program files are here)
2TB HDD (video files, scratch disk are here)
    Nvidia gtx 660 graphics
    Windows 64 bit
    1 monitor

I bought quicktime pro today to try this, but to no avail. it just freezes up again during export.
I tried some other fixes on that page, like renaming files to .mpg extension, which worked once during an export of a test sequence (although everything was shifted and it cut off the export at the gopro footage).
Is there any way I can export this project to another program to export it from there perhaps?
    Thanks for the help!

  • Exporting DV back to a Samsung VP-D351

    Hi,
Could anyone tell me if they have been successful in exporting DV back to a Samsung VP-D351 camera within iMovie? I can transfer DV from the D351 to the iMac but after editing the movie I cannot copy it back to the camera, I’ve tried all the suggestions on this forum and have had no luck. I’ve Googled for the spec of the D351 and some sites state it has DV-in and some just state DV-out.
When I attempt to copy the movie back to the camera it goes through all the correct steps but my camera will not record, it just says STOP in the viewfinder, sometimes when I attempt it my iMac will completely crash requiring it to be switched off at the mains.
Many thanks for any help on this one,
    Dave

    Hi Sue,
    Thanks for the quick reply!
    In the manual it states:
Recording with a DV connection cable.
    1.     Set the Power switch to player.
    2.     Connect the DV cable from the DV jack of the camcorder to the DV jack of the other device.
    •     Make sure that DV is displayed on the LCD screen.
    3.     Press the Start/Stop button to begin REC PAUSE mode.
    •     PAUSE is displayed on the LCD screen.
    4.     Start playback on the other DV device while you monitor the picture.
    5.     Press the Start/Stop button to start recording.
    6.     Press the Start/Stop button to stop recording.
When I try this I do not get “DV” displayed on the LCD (as stated in step 2) and pressing the Start/Stop button has no affect, it just displays “STOP” on the blank LCD. Even though the manual clearly states the camera IS capable of recording in DV mode it doesn’t, I wonder if this is a camera/iMovie compatibility issue?

  • Exporting for web on CS4

Can any one help? I am currently creating video using CS4 for an online world and using a compressor seperatly before uploading the video but i wondered if it was possible to export a video using CS4 straight for web use. compressed but not pixelated and a relatitvely low file size (15mb for 2-3min videos?!) i would like to speed up the process and have better looking video and not have to use the external compressor. Look forward to hearing back from anybody!

    Welcome to the forum.
Exporting for the Web is often dependent on the method of playback that the Web page's designer has used.
My first stop would be with the designer, as they can tell you what their page requires. Might be FLV for an embedded Flash player, or MOV (or variant) for an embedded QT player. That will point you in the right direction.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How do I repair export settings in PS CS4 and import settings in DW CS4?

I've just transferred from Windows XP to Windows 7 Home Premium. My export files from Photoshop CS4 in Save for Web and Devices are hidden and when I click on Save, it saves back into the open file in Photoshop. The image cannot be found in the DW web images folder as in the past. I was able to tell Photoshop how to save the image in the past (ie image only, not html) but that page no longer appears.
Can anyone tell me where that hidden folder can be found?
Thanks so much for a reply.

Yes, I am the administrator and only person on this computer. The missing page is the "Save Optimized as.." window that allowed me to add the settings into specific files for DW. like Format, Settings, Slices and where to save. Is this a hidden file? if so, how do I get it back.
The oddest thing happened yesterday: I wanted to add Meta info for a pattern I was saving for DW, I went to file information, and while I was typing, suddenly the form changed to a totally odd Patient Information sheet and it would not let me get back into my own PS pattern. Is this something new? I have never added a Patient form, anyway, how did it get into PS? Any clues on this?

  • How do I export a PDF to CS4 for editing.

Someone sent me a PDF that was orignally created as a CS4 document.  I want to export back into CS4 for additionally editing.  How can I accomplish this?

Not using standard InDesign-- it's like a vector illustration saved as JPEG, a one-way street.
There is a commercial program, PDF2ID, that can read the PDF and re-creates it as an ID document from scratch -- so it's not a faithful conversion either. But its results have been reported as "workable" ;-) (http://www.recosoft.com/products/pdf2id/)

  • I attached my perfectly functioning iPhone 4 to my computer to update and came back to an error message saying I have to do a factory restore which cause me to lose everything recent because I'm not even sure that the backup completed correctly

I left my iPhone attached to my computer to do an update and now I can't use the phone at all.  It was taking so long I left it, when I came back there was an erroe message saying that I need to do a factory restore on the phone.  It wasn functioning perfectly before I attached it to iTunes to do the update and now since I can't even be sure that the back up completed, I'm faced with losing a lot of stuff recently added to my phone.
I don't want to do a restore, I just want my phone back to how it was this afternoon before I connected it to iTunes.

If the screen shows a plug going to itunes, then you have no choice,  It's in recovery mode.  You'll be given the chance to restore from a backup either from itunes or icloud.
I assume when you got the message to update (was this for the ios or update some apps?), that was before the device when dead.  At any rate, doing a restore does not change the ios.

  • How can you get the camera back on the phone if it is deleted?

My camera has been deleted from my iphone...beside restoring to default, is there a way to get a camera back on the phone?

iOS Pre Installed Apps Cannot be Deleted.
Check in All Folders and on All Pages/Screens...
    Check in Restrictions...
    Settings > General > Restrictions
    If no joy...
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen

  • My Ipad was 89% charged an hour ago. put it in sleep mode and came back and now there is nothing...I plugged it into my computer and it is not showing up as a device in iTunes...there is absolutely nothing...and it was just fine...hmmm...any ideas?

My Ipad dropped dead. I had 89% charge left. Came back an hour later after putting it to sleep and it is totally black...no response to plugging it in...usually there is a sound...when I plugged into my apple computer it doesnot even show up on itunes..no acknowlegement of it...no nothing...Ipad 3..new this last spring...I had an ipad 2 before this...so this is not my first rodeo as they say.Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Or is it just dead?

    Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • Hello i just came back from the apple store and they had to restore my phone and i just downloaded all my apps and music back but my photos that are on icloud i only got 80 out of 768 back. what do i do to get all of them back?

hello i just came back from the apple store and they had to restore my phone and i just downloaded all my apps and music back but my photos that are on icloud i only got 80 out of 768 back. what do i do to get all of them back?

If you tried to restore to your iCloud backup and your photos didn't fully restore, first go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and make sure it isn't still in the process of restoring.
If the restore is complete and all your photos weren't restored, all you can do is try restoring the backup again.  You might try the solution posted by ezjules in this discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19518589#19518589.  This involves opening the photos app after the phone restarts and you provide the passwords for your Apple IDs, then leaving it open for the remainder of the restore process.
