Exporting Captivate to NetLearning

I was wondering if anyone has and expereience, and could walk
me through with posting a Captivate movie to our NetLearning
system. NetLearning is a learning management system. Therre is no
FTP system in NetLearning as there is in others.
Thanks

I am sorry I can't help but I have no experience with
NetLearning. Sounds like you need help from the NetLearning people
instead of here.
In any case, a few points about posting to these forums:
First, it is dangerous putting your email address intext
format on a public forum. You are opening yourself up to those
little gremlins that run around the web harvesting - your email
address.
Second, it is bad form to post the same issue on multiple
forums, as you have with this one. Generally, it is the same people
who are helping no matter which forum you post to, so duplicated
postings are frowned upon because they waste our time reading
duplicates when we could be helping others.
I'm sure you just didn't know this, so please don't take it
as a "scolding", but as a lesson in netiquette. For the full text
about what is expected of members, you can (and should) read the
"Posting
Guidelines" located at this link

  • ? on exporting Captivate 3 files

    Hello,
    I'm fairly new to Captivate 3 but have done a few projects. A
    colleague would like to use it, but her organization is having
    troubles with security and Flash.
    Do you know if there is a way to export Captivate files
    without embedding the Flash?
    Thanks!

  • Exporting Captivate 3 to Flash CS3 (Vista Ultimate 32)

    I saw the other topics describing issues involving exporting
    Captivate to Flash, but I can't get the export to work at all. The
    first couple times I tried I got the "unknown error," and now the
    .cp files don't even show up in the list of importable files.
    I've applied all the latest Adobe updates. I really need to
    be able to work on these Captivate 3 files in Flash. Any help would
    be appreciated.

    Thanks for your help, Rick.
    Yes, I've reviewed it and followed its instructions. I've
    found that I need Flash to be closed before I start an export from
    Captivate or nothing happens. (I can't import from Flash at all.)
    Even when the export works, I'm only getting the first slide.
    So it looks like I have some poking around to do. I was hoping this
    was going to be a "press a button and go" operation (yeah, right).

  • Export Captivate to Adobe Premiere

    is it possible to Export Captivate to Adobe Premiere

    I am unfamiliar with Adobe Premiere, and know only that it is
    a video editing package. Because Captivate publishes to SWF
    (Shockwave) format, it makes sense that Captivate SWFs could be
    used as "content" for a Premiere project ... but I am unable to
    help beyond that.
    Is anyone here an "Adobe Premiere" expert who can offer more
    detailed - and knowledgeable - advice?

  • Error by exporting Captivate to Word: "Project Captions and Closed Captions"

    Hello everybody,
    I'm from Germany, working in Heidelberg and I've got a problem! I would so much appreciate if somebody would have a solution for it.
    Nobody could help me yet - no Adobe support via chat, no Adobe support via phone. They said the forum is my last chance. I'm frustrated. But a solution is important for my ongoing project...
    Description of the problem situation:
    I've created an e-learning project in German language. This e-learning shall be translated into other languages, so I want to export a word document with the captions inside. I'm doing this way:
    File > Export > Project Captions and Closed Captions, and save it as word doc.
    But then, after I typed in a name for the word document, another "Save as"-window appears in the background (I discovered it by coincidence) and wants me to save a word template before the export process starts. Here's a screenshot:
    I don't know the reason for this second "Save as" window, so I try to save a word template (I saved it on my desktop, because I don't know where else).
    After klicking on "Save" the following error message appears:
    (in English: Error by exporting of captions. Try the following things: if Microsoft Word is installed, if Word is open, if the exported file is open etc.)
    It's not depending on the captivate file as such, I tried it with other ones (which have only one slide) - the same problem.
    It's not depending on my computer, I tried it with another one in my office - there was the same thing, same error message (but without the step of saving a word template!).
    Maybe important: My hardware and versions I'm working with...
    Windows 7 Professional (Service Pack 1), 64bit
    Adobe Captivate 8
    Microsoft Word 2010
    Does anyone has the same problem or does anyone know the answer for this problem?
    I would really really appreciate your answers!! Thank you in advance!
    Chris

    Dear Mayank, dear Lilybiri,
    thank you both soooo much, I couldn't belive what I saw as the export of captions worked!!! It was really surprising!
    I guess your both solutions helped me out - Mayank's hint of the admin's rights was the necessary information! But it first worked because Lilybiri told me to insist and to try it after I restarted the PC - and to do it several times! So it worked!! Otherwise I would probably still be confused.
    Thank you so much!
    Here's the proof
    Chris
    PS: Does anyone know, why I still have to decide if I want to save the "Adobe Captivate" Template thing?
    Every time I'm doing an export it asks me every time if I want to save or not save the "Adobe Captivate"-file...

  • Exported Captivate PDF won't open in 10.1.5 update

    The latest update 10.1.5 does not open Captivate files exported as a PDF. Adobe 11 doesn't open those files either, only X would open the files.
    Any suggestion to fix this issue? Is there another update that is available that will run the files in for 10 or 11?

    This problem is happening to me as well.
    It seems to be happening to many people.
    I remove the TOC and the file will work, but this is an unacceptable solution, my client wants the TOC.
    Why is Adobe ignoring  answering the questions.
    I have upgraded to the latest versions of reader and player. Still no solution.
    I have also tried downloading and installing the palyer as suggested here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-acrobat-flash-player-download.html
    Still not working.
    I am upset that you have not addressed this.
    you ask users to allow Adobe to update your programs automatically and then when your updates break projects that were working fine before the update you ignore requests for months.
    I would like a solution now.

  • When exporting Captivate 5 project as pdf, cannot open linked files (which are also pdfs)

    I am a Captivate novice, using version 5 on Mac. I am thrilled that my project can be published as a pdf. Everything works great except the interactive buttons, which are supposed to open various small pdfs. I placed the linked documents in the same folder with captivate project. I used just the filename of the document as the link. I can open the links with no problem when I open the SWF from firefox, but when I try to open them from my exported PDF (with Acrobat 9 pro), no luck. This is really bumming me out, because being able to hand the customer an interactive PDF is cool. I could just duplicate the same effect in Acrobat Pro Extended, but I find the Captivate workspace much faster and easier than creating interactivity with Acrobat. Plus, it is so cool to add the audio and animated effects in Captivate. Not so easy in Acrobat. Help??!?! Thank you.

    Thanks for the update! No pressure, but I'm using the trial version while I decide if Captivate will be the solution I need to create these multimedia pdfs. Is there any sort of timeframe on the resolution of the issue I posted? Should I expect to wait until Captivate 6, or should I expect an update to 5 to solve the problem? Just need to know how to move forward. I apologize in advance if I am out of line for asking timeframe questions. I'm new to support forums. I  never posted before because I was always able to get answers by researching discussions. Your reply is so helpful to me because I can barely afford the $800 for Cap 5. If it can't do what I need it to do, I will save the money and stick with creating interactivity in PDFs through Acrobat's brute force (but reliable) methods...but Captivate is SO COOL...oh woe.

  • Problems Exporting Captivate to Flash

    When exporting a Captivate 3 file to Flash CS3, the area I
    recorded appears very small. However the mouse movements seem to be
    clicking on a much larger image, around the small one. I have the
    stage size and framerate matching the Captivate settings, so I am
    not sure what's up.
    Also, I noticed the skin I selected doesn't seem to transfer
    to Flash, so no playback controls. Is that too much to ask for, or
    is there a way to get those Captivate skins into my Flash
    file?

    - The slide backgrounds are all held on one layer in Flash.
    Looks to
    consistently be layer 2, named Slide Backgrounds :-)
    - This layer is locked. So click on the little padlock and
    unlock the layer.
    - Select "Onion Skin" and "Edit Multiple Frames"
    - Two little 'start onion skin" and "end onion skin"
    indicators appear at
    the top of the timeline - move them to the start and end of
    the timeline, so
    they encompass the whole project.
    - Select the Slide Backgrounds layer so that all of the Slide
    Background
    images are selected at once. You may need to also click on
    the background.
    - If you get it right. You'll see size and location values
    for the
    background in the Properties panel.
    - Type in the correct slide background size, and position
    0,0.

  • Export Captivate Project to Training Force

    Our LMS is Training Force. Apparently, as copied below, when
    I publish a Captivate project in a SCORM compliant format, I'm
    getting an error caused by a "page in the package." I'd appreciate
    any thoughts or suggestions on how to move forward.
    Thanks! Happy Holidays to you and your family.
    Coleman
    It is a page in the package causing the error. So we
    recommend manually fixing the page and/or notifying the course
    creation software provider of the issue.
    The issue is this section of code on
    EscrowPrdctVbls_custom.htm.
    document.write('<script language=\"VBScript\"\>\n');
    document.write('On Error Resume Next\n');
    document.write('Sub Captivate_FSCommand(ByVal command, ByVal
    args)\n');
    document.write('Call Captivate_DoFSCommand(command,
    args)\n');
    document.write('End Sub\n');
    document.write('</script\>\n');
    The problem arises when the browser reads the page to
    determine what needs to be processed. Since the script tags are
    contained in other script tags, the rendering of the page throws an
    error. To alleviate the issue, the script tags need to be broken up
    more or potentially encoded.
    An example for breaking it up would be:
    document.write('<scri");
    document.write("pt language=\"VBScript\"\>\n');
    document.write('On Error Resume Next\n');
    document.write('Sub Captivate_FSCommand(ByVal command, ByVal
    args)\n');
    document.write('Call Captivate_DoFSCommand(command,
    args)\n');
    document.write('End Sub\n');
    document.write('</scri")
    document.write("pt\>\n');

    Follow-up....
    Are there any "tricks" to exporting to a SCORM format?
    Something like no spaces, or this field needs to remain blank? This
    LMS accepts content published from Flash, but not Captivate, at
    least how I'm publishing it.
    Thanks.
    Coleman

  • Export Captivate 3 to Flash CS4

    Hello All,
    I am using Captivate 3 and when I try to export project to Falsh, only Flash 8 and Flash CS3 are listed but they are grayed out because I am using Flash CS4. My question is how do I export project to Flash CS4 if it is not an option?  Is there another way to create a FLV file?
    Thanks,
    Chad

  • Exporting Captivate into Flash

    Hi,
    When I export my Captivate file to Flash MX 2004, the file
    has nothing in it.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Judy

    Hi mindtube and welcome to our community
    I am inferring from your question that you may think Adobe
    employees are monitoring this forum. While we might see one or two
    pop in here and there, by and large this is a total "user-to-user"
    community. I'm a Captivate user same as you. So you might want to
    post your question to support using the link at the bottom of this
    page. Either that, or via the WishForm linked below:

  • Exporting Captivate to server then playing

    Once the SWF file is uploaded to the server, I go to play
    from my website, and my 25 slide presentation takes 1 minute to
    load, before it plays in my browser. There is very little graphic
    action on my presentation some music narration, photos and some pop
    ups. My server is Net firms. Is there something I can do to the
    captivate SWF to give it a streaming effect, or have it play, right
    away.

    Hi Hank Junior
    How exactly are you opening your file? When you published,
    did you only create a .SWF or did you also export the HTML page? If
    you didn't export an HTML page, perhaps you should try this, then
    place both the .SWF and .HTM files on the server. Then point at the
    .HTM page in order to display the file.
    Also, are you using a preloader? (Click Movie >
    Preferences... > Start and End tab > Loading screen check
    box) If you use a preloader, typically it loads and counts up to
    60% before the movie commences. Otherwise, the movie has to
    completely download to the browser before play commences. Not only
    that, but you NEED to use the .HTM page to make the preloader work
    correctly. At least if the browser is IE that is. I've seen other
    reports here that seem to indicate that the preloader may work
    without the associated .HTM if the browser is perhaps Firefox.
    Hopefully this helps... Rick :)

  • Exporting Captivate 4 mpeg4 to Camtasia 6.01

    I just thought I'd let the community know that it is possible
    now to import Captivate 4 mpeg output into Camtasia 6.01 and create
    the file formats that Camtasia will allow. Camtasia version 6.02
    will be available soon which will generate flv output.

    Hi there
    I know this will come off sounding a bit flippant, so I offer any apologies in advance.
    The answer to this is riddled in a question: "How long is a piece of string?". Of course the answer to that is a big ole "it depends", no?
    I consider it to be this way. I compare Camtasia and Captivate to be similar to Cars and Trucks. Both are vehicles that get you where you are going, but each really has a different purpose. Sure, you can use a car to haul loads. But is it really the proper tool? Perhaps you need to haul lots of building materials. I've seen folks strap all sorts of things onto the roof of the car. It gets you there with the materials, but nowhere nearly as easily as you would if you had a truck, no?
    Or, perhaps you are a home improvement enthusiast. (I happen to be one) In my garage I have a portable circular saw, a portable sabre saw, a table saw and a compound miter saw. Each tool has a unique purpose and I use it according to its strength.
    Sure, Captivate offers a Full Motion Recording feature. It works. But it doesn't work as well as Camtasia does if full motion is what you are really looking for.
    As for exporting to AVI, there could be many factors at play. Compression, CODEC and who knows what else? What about interactivity? Do you have Click Boxes and other interactive elements? I don't believe an AVI supports interactivity beyond allowing the user to control the movie with a playback control of some sort. So it seems reasonable to me that if you had interactive objects in the movie that perhaps Captivate might choke when attempting to render it out.
    Hopefully this was somewhat helpful... Rick
