Exporting DAC  metadata in XML format

I would like to export DAC metadata in XML format . As per the administration guide it is possible to export/import metadata in XML format.
Any information on this will be appreciated.

you can only export complete containers to XML, you can't only export the updates (as far as I know that is)
you can do this by selecting Tools, then select DAC Repository Management, then select Export.

  • Tool or mechanism to put the Oracle metadata into XML format

    Hi,
    Is there any tool or mechanism provided by Oracle to put the Oracle metadata into XML format?I mean metadata here represents Database objects like Tables, Columns, Schemas, stored procedures, Table spaces etc.
    Regards,
    Dayakar

    From 9i and onwards, the dbms_metadata package will do this.
    Either use the documentation or Morgan's library [http://www.psoug.org/reference] for further info

  • How to get the metadata (in xml format) of all the fileds in SQl query ?

    Good day ,
    I am using the dbms_xmlgen.getXMLfunction to get the result of any query in xml format.
    With this XML I also want the metadata information about all the fields used in the query (passed to getXML function). Is it possible and how can I achieve this.
    I tried to Google it but couldn't find any solution , it's easy to do it in java where I can get the resultset meta data from the resultset but I have to do it in Oracle function since I want the result in xml format and want to use the oracle XML API.
    You may think why I need metadata , the reason is the application will later use this information to sort the data contained in these fields according to their data type provided to.

    Hi,
    Please always say which version of Oracle you're using (SELECT * FROM v$version).
    With this XML I also want the metadata information about all the fields used in the query (passed to getXML function). Is it possible and how can I achieve this.It is possible but with a bit of effort.
    I would use DBMS_SQL utility to parse the query, extract each column's description and then build a METADATA element with the required information.
    Here's an example (11g) :
    DECLARE
      v_query      varchar2(30) := 'select * from scott.emp';
      v_cur        integer;
      v_desc_tab   dbms_sql.desc_tab;
      v_col_cnt    number;
      v_col_lst    varchar2(4000);
      v_xml_query  varchar2(32767);
      xml_metadata_coll xmlsequencetype := xmlsequencetype();
      xml_metadata      xmltype;
      res          clob;
    BEGIN
      v_cur := dbms_sql.open_cursor;
      dbms_sql.parse(v_cur, v_query, dbms_sql.native);
      dbms_sql.describe_columns(v_cur, v_col_cnt, v_desc_tab);
      dbms_sql.close_cursor(v_cur);
      for i in 1 .. v_col_cnt loop
        if i > 1 then
          v_col_lst := v_col_lst || ', ';
        end if;
        v_col_lst := v_col_lst || v_desc_tab(i).col_name;
        xml_metadata_coll.extend;
        select xmlelement("COLUMN"
               , xmlattributes(v_desc_tab(i).col_name as "name")
               , xmlforest(
                   case v_desc_tab(i).col_type

                   end as "DATATYPE"
                 , v_desc_tab(i).col_max_len as "MAX_LENGTH"
                 , v_desc_tab(i).col_precision as "PRECISION"
                 , v_desc_tab(i).col_scale as "SCALE"
        into xml_metadata_coll(i)
        from dual;
      end loop;

    The list of Oracle Type Number is available here : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e26088/sql_elements001.htm#i54330
    Starting with 11g (not sure which release), DBMS_SQL package also declares these numbers through named constants.
    <li> I don't use DBMS_XMLGEN in this example. Instead I rebuild the query using SQL/XML functions and the list of columns that's just been described.

  • How could I export FCE project into XML format?

    Hello,
    I recently decided to upgrade from Final Cut Express to Final Cut Pro X. But I don't seem to be able to export my FCE unfinish projects. That is because FCE  does not export into XML format !!!
    Does anyone knows how to have FCE to generate a XML file? Or to have the FCP file format converted into a XML file format?
    Thanks

    If you are editing in FCE4, then you can open your FCE Project in FCP6 or FCP7 and do the .xml export there. Once you have that .xml file, you need to use the software 7toX to convert the file to FCP-X.
    http://assistedediting.intelligentassistance.com/7toX/
    It should be noted that the conversion of a sequence file to .xml and then .xml to FCP-X may not pass 100% of the information.
    There is information about what is and is not translated here:

  • Exporting 'managed list' - only XML format - why??

    Was wanting to export my actors list using the export button provided in 'managed lists'. It only allowed for xml format, which for 'joe punter' like me is useless. Of course, I could go into reports and print out 'cast list', but wanted a .csv file so I could use the data.
    Please explain.

    Wonderful! I never thought of providing an extension to file names, thinking Shake would have been more intuitive than that. Extensions are not needed when exporting files to Quick Time. Nevertheless, it works which is the important point.
    Thank you.

  • Report output in XML format

    Is it possible to save (or export) report output in XML format, it is ok with either WebI or DeskI report, here we are concerned about output format not what type of report we can use to produce the output in XML format.
    Thank you,
    Srini

    Hi Srinivas,
    Only options available in WEBI or DESKI is to save documents in Excel or PDF format.
    As a workaround you can use Excel as an intermediate between your WEBI or DESKI document to XML format.
    When you try to save WEBI document in XML Data format you may get following Error because the Excel sheet does not contain any XML format that requires.
    u201CCan Not save XML data because the workbook does not contain any XML mappingsu201D
    Solution:
    1. Excel cannot save all or part of your workbook as XML Data if you have not created one or more mapped ranges.
    2. If you haven't added an XML map to your workbook, or your data is not contained within an XML list, then you can save your workbook in the XML Spreadsheet file format.
    If you have added an XML map to your workbook, follow these steps to map XML elements to your worksheet:
    1. On the Data menu, point to XML, and then click XML Source to open the XML Source task pane.
    2. To map one or more elements to your worksheet, select the elements in the XML Source task pane. To select nonadjacent elements, click one element, and then hold down CTRL and click each element.
    3. Drag the selected elements to the worksheet location where you want them to appear.
    I Hope this helps to find  the path of solution with Ease.
    Thanks...

  • How to export table contents in xml file format through SQL queries

    hi,
    i need to export the table data in to xml file format. i got it through the GUI what they given.
    i'm using Oracle 10g XE.
    but i need to send the table name from Java programs. so, how to call the export commands from programming languages through. is there any sql commands to export the table contents in xml format.
    and one more problem is i created each transaction in two tables. for example if we have a transaction 'sales' , that will be saved in db as
    sales1 table and sales2 table. here i maintained and ID field in sales1 as PK. and id as FK in sales2.
    i get the combined data with this query,
    select * from sales1 s1, sales2 s2 where s1.id=s2.id order by s1.id;
    it given all the records, but i'm getting two ID fields (one from each table). how to avoid this. here i dont know how many fields will be there in each table. that will be known at runtime only.
    the static information is sales1 have one ID field with PK and sales2 will have one ID filed with FK.
    i need ur valuable suggestions.
    regards
    pavan.

    You can use DBMS_XMLGEN.getXML('your Query') for generating data in tables to XML format and you can use DBMS_XMLGEN.SETROWSETTAG to change the parent element name other wise it will give rowset as well as DBMS_XMLGEN.SETROWTAG for row name.
    Check this otherwise XMLELEMENT and XMLFOREST function are also there to convert data in XML format.

  • Customization of DAC to send emails in XML format

    Hi,
    We need to customize DAC to send emails in XML format to the support team whenever there is a failure of the ETL load.
    We use the HPSC ticketing system.
    Any help to achieve this functionality is much appreciated.
    we have tried to customize the existing email template of DAC, but it is not serving the purpose to generate the ticket in HPSC.
    To generate the HPSC ticket, we have a XML format. We need to customize DAC to use this format.

    Hi,
    I have spoken to Oracle about this previously, apparently these warnings are not important and are nothing to worry about, see here:

  • How to most efficiently export photos on their original format with all metadata and adjustments?

    How do I most efficiently export photos on their original format with all metadata and adjustments applied? I am looking for a solution for exporting corrected photos between computers with Lightroom 5 installed. Preferably with no exporting or merging of catalogs.
    Thanks in advance for you support,

    And yet exporting a catalog is the perfect solution for communicating with another LR catalog...
    But if you really want to export photos , File>Export should work. I guess I don't really understand what your concerns are.

  • Export a model in RDF/XML format without Jena?

    Hi,
    Are there means to export RDF triples in RDF/XML format without using Jena or any other Java staff?
    Thanks.

    Hi Dmitry,
    Unfortunately we do not have the code within SEM_APIS to do the task. This is something we already discussed with Development at some point in a case for another customer.
    What we have for now that you may already are aware of is the use of the jena framework to generate N-Triple or RDF/XML output
    There are a couple of notes:
    How To Use Jena Adapter To Extract A Model To Move From One Database To Another Database (Doc ID 1124288.1)
    How To Move Semantic Models From One Database To Another (Doc ID 1347754.1)
    Same code in those notes can be used to generate RDF/XML changing the line
    model.write(os, "N-TRIPLE");
    to
    model.write(os, "RDF/XML");
    The formats you can output are: "RDF/XML", "RDF/XML-ABBREV", "N-TRIPLE" and "N3". The default value is represented by null is "RDF/XML".
    I know this implies the extra work of installing java JDK and Jena framework but that is the only way for now.
    Regards!

  • [PENTAHO] export design into xml format

    Hi all,
    I wonder if it's possible to create a design with reportDesigner, export the design to an xml format and then use this xml format file to create a report. For example, in the HelloWorld demo you have to create the necessary code to make a report. However, in the invoice demo you have an xml file in wich you have the structure description of the report and you can use it to make the report without writing all the code.
    Thanks a lot!

    There is no question in what you have posted.
    If your question is about reportDesigner, whatever that is, this is the wrong forum and the wrong site.

    CRM --> Marketing --> Marketing Planning and Campaign Management --> Campaign Execution --> Define File Export Variants
    But with this we were not able to get the full XML structure, as required above. We got only this much.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

    </DATA>

    The program SAPFPAYM generates the payment Medium  on the basis of your configuration and background settings, this program does not bydefault give the output in the XML.
    Varient creation for the PMW in T. Code OBPM4, use the same program, which i already done it, even without this it is not be possible to create any payment Medium.
