Exporting EP 6 Objects to EP 7?

Hi all -
Our customer currently has 2 portals. One on SAP EP 6, the other one on SAP EP 7.0. Is it possible to export content from EP 6 and directly import into EP 7? Or is it required to do an upgrade from EP 6 to EP 7 first and then export the objects from the newly upgraded EP 7 to the other EP 7 Portal?

You can transport the portal objects (pcd content, system configurtion, KM content, par files etc..) from EP6 to EP 7 without any problem.
You will not face any problem during transport. you can directly transport to freshly installed EP 7.

It should work in any version of Java as long as the server socket factories are null or equal according to Object.equals() or its override in the SSF.equals() method if any. Which needs to be present and needs to take the form:
public boolean equals(Object object)
return object != null && object.getClass() == this.getClass();
}with further tests if the server socket factories have additional state.

Error Exporting the ID Objects in SAP PI 7.11 was working fine in PI 7.1

Hi,
Recently we have upgraded to PI 7.1 Eph1. We have CTS+ for the transportation. The issue here is that i am able to export IR objects from ESR with CTS. But when i try to export the ID objects i am not able to see either CTS export oprion or the file export option from the dropdown. Before that upgrade (SAP PI 7.1) i was able to export both IR and ID objects with CTS+.
So i managed to get some error messeage from trace. Here is waht is says...
javax.ejb.EJBAccessException: Principal: EABCDEF (authentication method: password), policyContextID: sap.com/com.sap.xi.directorycom.sap.xpi.ib.server.jar, permission.name: TransportServiceBean, permission.actions: existsCtsWorkspace,Remote,com.sap.guid.IGUID*
Do you know what could be the reason? I was wondering why i wasnt able to export.

There seems to be a lot of confusion between what is documented and what is available in actual. I did a search in help.sap.com for JMS Topic and got some information under PI7.11

How to find out import & export path for object migration between D Q & P?

Have a look at these links.
When we do an export of the IR or the ID Oblects, a typical path at which it gets exported in the XI Server is as follow:
For IR Objects:
C:\usr\sap\PI1\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\export
For ID Objects:
"C:\usr\sap\PI1\SYS\global\xi\directory_server\export"
Now in case you need to import the ".tpz" that you have.... You need to place it in the path mentioned below and u will be able to do import it from IR or ID...
For IR Objects:
C:\usr\sap\PI1\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import
For ID Objects:
"C:\usr\sap\PI1\SYS\global\xi\directory_server\import"

Import/ export of an object or item in portal 10g

Good Morning!

can anyone tell what is the format of import / export of an object or item in portal 10g?
 this is in the context of updating or rolling into production server an item whose earlier version might be sitting in the production server before. and it is based on the premise that the environment/ system is composed of more than one servers and production is only one of them.
 apologies ... if i am not even phrasing the question right. by format, what i mean to know is does it first delete the older component and then generate the new one or it renegades and keeps the older version and bring on the newer version, or what.

any hints will be appreciated.

Export only selected objects of a drawing

Hello,
I want to export only some objects of a drawing to png. Therefore I select them via click + Shift. I used CorelDraw before and there i can select, in the export window, "Only marked objects" (don't know the exact English term). Is there a comparable option to Corel?

off the top of my head i don't know a way of doing this automatically...maybe i just don't know of it...
My work around would be:
unlock everything
select your objects
invert your selection
hide the now selected objects
export...
bit of a work around but you could do an action to speed it up if you've got a few to do.

I would like to export a development object with all the contained elements into a file so that I can import this development object into another SAP system. Hi Alec,
I think that of the 3 you mentioned Crystal Reports is your best bet. WebI & DeskI do not schedule to XML using the standard scheduler.
You might also consider Query As A Web Service which will retrieve your data in XML format.

Hi,
I have provided a simple method below to Get all the PCD objects PCD ID.
1. Create a transport package.
2. Add all the PCD objects for which ever you need the PCD ID.
3. Now release the Transport package as the "File system" mode.
4. Once it is done successfully, it will display all the transported object and its corresponding PCD ID in a table format.
You can simply copy and paste it in a excel to get the PCD ID for the PCD objects.

Deemed export _number from object J_1IEXCEXP

Dear SD Experts,
We have two types of excise invoices. One is Local and another is Export.
The local excise invoices take numbers from the local number range [object J_1IEXCLOC]; the export excise invoices take numbers from the export number range [object J_1IEXCEXP]. As per the present setting the deemed export takes the numbers from the local number range [object J_1IEXCLOC] as the customer is in India.
Now the requirement is that the deemed export should take the number from the export number range [object J_1IEXCEXP].
Pl help me in this regard.

Create a customer group for Deemed exports and this customer group field is refered into program J1IIN.
Use Function module: J_1I7_REDETERMINE_INVOICE_TYPE in program SAPMJ1IIN and include the below logic.
if i_vbrk-kdgrp = Deemed Export,
E_CUST_TYP = 'F'.
E_T_LOCEXP = 'export'.
E_EXP_TYPE = 'lout'.
Then system will take foriegn number range object and picks the number which u maintain for series group of Exports.

Is it possible to export Vector Smart Objects as vector SVG files from Photoshop CC 2014?

I have Vector Smart Objects copied from Illustrator and pasted into Photoshop. I would like to export them as vector SVG files (using Generator or Extract Assets). I can add the .svg extension to the layer and actually export an SVG just fine. The problem is any SVG I have exported have all been raster images. It defeats the purpose of having that as an option as far as I'm concerned.
I remember watching and listening to keynotes and other speakers at Adobe MAX 2014 who said it was so powerful and amazing to create SVG files from Photoshop. If we're still exporting raster SVG files from Photoshop...that's not very impressive or exciting--especially since this era of modern web development benefits greatly from using vector SVG files.
I understand that Shape Layers can be exported as vector SVG files but that seems very limiting. I also realize that users can create some impressive vectors in Photoshop, but that is not optimal. Illustrator is a better tool for creating vectors and I normally use Photoshop and Illustrator side-by-side. I know that vector SVG files can be exported from Illustrator but that isn't as user friendly and convenient as utilizing Photoshop > Generator > Reflow.
My idea was to create my assets in Illustrator, paste them into Photoshop as Vector Smart Objects, set up my layout, and then use the Generator/Reflow method or Extract Assets to get a new web design started.
Maybe I misunderstood what the speakers at Adobe MAX had said. Perhaps it's just user error and I'm just missing something simple (it happens).

Not quite the same, but have a look at the new Libraries feature that came with 2014.2.2 I just tried it, and dragging a vector object into a library I created in Photoshop, was there in Illustrator. This happens without having to close and reopen Illustrator. Just use the drop down at the top of the Libraries panel (in Illustrator) to find your custom, or job specific library.

[CS4 - JS]Export stories and "object is invalid" error

Moving/Exporting Seeburger configurations/objects from QA to Production

Hi,
I need some expert advise in moving Seeburger configuration objects like splitter adapter,AS2 adapter configurations from QA to Prod.
Our scenario is like this , in the Seeburger message splitter we have defined the splitter adapter based on the AS2ID for different vendors/suppliers/customers. now when we go live on couple of customers every week, we are manually creating/configuring the seeburger channels in production. Is there a way to do it automatically like Exporting the objects in XI from QA to Prod???

Hi Preeti,
For moving the congiguration objects from quality to production, you need to configure transport groups in the SLD so that when you are moving configuration objects from quality to production it will take Production R/3 system.
For Transport Groups check the below links

Exporting & Importing Class Objects

Hi.
I want to migrate Class Objects from a CMSDK's instance to another. Maybe I can use CAT and PUT cmdline commands to do the job. I make some tests using CAT but I dont know how to redirect the data displayed on the screen to a xml file.
Any ideas?

i'm not sure what you are talking about,,
but try to import the universe and SAVE AS it to a new one and rename the title of the universe to a new name,, export it,, and reimport it again,, and try to delete that class from the universe,,
if that didnt work,, you can hide this class from the universe by right click this class and then click Hide Itme(S)

Export Aperture library objects to Finder folders

Inspired by the posted message by user http://discussions.apple.com/profile.jspa?userID=616539 I wrote a script that will do the following:
1. Sync Folders/SubFolders/Albums/Projects..etc hierarchy tree from Aperture to a Finder folders tree
2. At run-time the script will creates/append to a log file under (home directory)\Library\Logs\AppleScriptExportApertureLibrary.log
3. Exports all projects images versions with embedded metadata
4. Create a file system "hard links" for each photo in the respective Albums pointing to the project folder location in order to preserve space.
5. Compare modification date on the image files and modification date within Aperture and export only modified images in order to save time for a full sync/export.
6. In interactive mode you can select Export Folder location, Aperture Library location and Projects List (project list will contain project name and internal aperture project id).
7. In non-interactive (from command line) mode there are two arguments:
7a. "quiet" - exports all projects
7b. "quiet" "Project Information" - export only certain projects. the project information can be found in the log file.
8. Remove any images or folders from Finder export directory that do not exist in Aperture database any more.
Hopefully this would help anyone who is looking to export from Aperture on a regular basis. I am not sure how it will handle large amount of photos. I tested it with 3k+ photos.
Please note that you use this script at your own risk.

If you do externalize your Masters to folders anywhere (same drive, internal/external drive, multiple drives, whatever), never be tempted to use Finder to mess with them.
As Frank said, use Relocate Masters. Otherwise you'll confuse Aperture when it wakes up expecting Masters to be in certain places when they have moved elsewhere.
It's possible to fix up the mess, but it's no fun!
