Exporting file to Youtube Elements 7

Hi Guy's,
I'm tring to help someone else so i dusted off my elements 7 software and I'm have a problem exporting the video.
The file size is 96 megs. How can I comprise the file? I tried the "share" Internet" options to post...but the youtube
option is not there.
Thanks for any help!
And if you can tell me why elements software would not show the live filming on my computer while i was recording via fire wire
that would be of great help too.

Hi, DavidValk. Premiere Elements has its own forum, which is here:
http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premiere_elements
and you'll probably get better, faster help with video there. Good luck!

  • Exporting files from Photoshop Elements 12

I'm trying to export files from Elements 12 but the export option is greyed out. Why?

There is no export in the editor except the "export creations", because your files are not "in" the editor. You just save as. But PSE doesn't do any vector formats, so you aren't going to be able to save as EPS or .AI.

  • Best practice for exporting a .mov file for YouTube

I am using FCPX 10.0.9 with a MacBook Pro. We are needing to upload relatively small-size high school football videos as .mov files to YouTube for my newspaper. I have been choosing the Export File option with the setting set to h.264, exporting the file to the desktop and then uploading that .mov file to YouTube. (I do not have Compressor installed on this Mac.) The other night the first of three files done like this uploaded fine, but the next two just kept processing and processing at YouTube and never finished. The following morning the files processed fine. Any thoughts about why ths might be happening?
And would it be better to export in another file format --.mp4 files -- instead that might cause less of a problem and which of the export options would be best?
    Thanks,

Am I correctly uploading a .mov file to YouTube by using the Export File command with the export setting set to .h264 then if I wish a reasonable size file for upload?
Sure. There are many ways to get videos to YT and yours is a reasonable approach.
"Reasonable size" should be thought of in terms of upload time. Again, YT will re-compress whatever you give it. So depending on how quickly you need to get it up on the Web, it's better to upload files that have more information than less information. (To that end, some folks upload very large Pro Res files; they also have a lot of patience.)
Just to let you know, the majority of FCPX users follow one of two workflows:
    1) Share>You Tube option and have FCP handle the uploading;
    2) Export as a Pro Res Master File; bring the master file into Compressor and apply the user's custom settings; upload using YT's uploader.
FWIW, I prefer the second workflow.

  • Exported my video from Elements 12 but Powerpoint does not recognise the video file. How can we do it?

Exported my video from Elements 12 - format mp4 but Powerpoint does NOT recognise the video file. Why?

.wpl appears to be a Windows Media Player playlist. I can find no conversion software for that, and Windows Media Player is not available for Mac anymore.
If you can persuade him to download iTunes and create the playlist as mp3 in a iTunes playlist, or even just burn the base mp3 files to CD as a data disc, that's about the only solutions I can suggest.

  • Export as a master file FOR Youtube?

I want to export my videos for uploading to Youtube, however at the moment the file size is enormous (we're talking 6gb for a 4 minute video), which of course takes forever to upload.
I want to export it as a master file, rather than exporting it directly to youtube within FCPX, because I want to have an actual copy of the file on my computer, as well as the fact that I've been having some trouble with the youtube sign in through FCPX, so basically I've just been export in as a Master File with all the default settings for 1080p.
Anyway, what settings should I use to get a good quality video that isn't so enormous that it takes ages to upload?
Sorry, I'm pretty new to this, and kind of teaching myself as I go along.
When uploading to Youtube, it suggests uploading a different format for faster processing/uploading...
So I clicked the link to the help centre where it talked about how to encode the video. But I'm still trying to learn all this, so I'm not sure if this is something I need to do when i first start the Project, or if there are settings I should change when I export it as a Master File, or if there is something I've just missed altogether.
I'll include screen shots of Youtube's recommendations.
Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated Thankyou!

    My suggestion: keep it simple.
The simplest way is to export a master file AND also export to youtube. There is nothing preventing you from making several exports of the same material!
(As it happens, you can also do this "double export" in one fell swoop, using destination bundles - but, again, keep it simple; you can learn that later).
Anyway, you certainly don't need Compressor. Compressor is only useful if you need something specific that FCP X can't directly provide - but that usually means an experienced user who knows his/her way around the arcane compression options - in other words, complex stuff.
If you don't want to use FCP X to export directly to youtube: just export a Master File, but instead of the default (which is ProRes, and, as Karsten explained and you acutely felt, produces massive files), choose H264. Then upload via the youtube site.

  • Best PE7.0 export settings for Youtube HD, Vimeo or Smugmug?

    Hi all,
I'm really new to video editing and I can't find any recommendations on the best Premiere Elements 7 export settings for Youtube HD, Vimeo or Smugmug. It seems like most of them want you to upload in 1280x720.
My original source is 1920x1080 30p AVCHD from a Canon HF100. Obviously, I would like to keep it at the same frame rate. There doesn't appear to be a preset in PE7 (or a way at all) to output 1280x720 30 into an MPEG container with H.264 encoding. When I go into the advanced properties of a preset like "H.264 1920x1080i 30" or "MPEG2 1920x1080i 30" and choose 1280x720, I no longer have an option for 29.97 fps - the only options are 23.976 or 24 fps. It seems bad to change this, right?
I see the preset for "HD 720p 30" which appears to be MPEG encoding of the video stream instead of H.264. This seemed to work OK, but I wasn't sure about it, because when I choose it I see in the description a line that says TV Standard: NTSC. A number of web sites indicate that H.264 is preferred, but I don't really understand why.
I also found a way to do H.264 in a Quicktime container. This seemed a little suboptimal because you can't do variable bitrate. When I unselected the "select bitrate" checkbox, it seemed like a quality of 50 yielded a .mov file with a bit rate of 2.87Mb/s, and a quality of 100 yielded a .mov file with a bit rate of 26Mb/s. It is confusing to me how the quality setting affects the bitrate on the quicktime containers.
I'm leaning towards using the "HD 720p 30" preset and working with the bit rate choices, but am open to comments. What do others think?
And on a related question - assuming we choose the "HD 720p 30" preset as a starting point, given the 1GB file restriction at Youtube, it seems to make sense to choose a bitrate that allows both good quality and reasonable file size. I don't know much about whether VBR 1 pass, 2 pass or CBR would be best for this kind of online HD video. Google is a little unhelpful here: http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=132461
This page (http://webvideotechniques.com/123/bigger-and-better-encoding-for-youtube-hd) seems to indicate aiming for a bitrate of 8Mbps with a minimum of 4Mbps, including 2 pass VBR.
So, basically, I'm confused and a little overwhelmed. I think I have solutions that work, but it's hard to tell. What does the greater community think? Thanks.

Thanks very much E Mann, that was a very helpful thread. I think it actually would apply for youtube as well. For other users, here's a direct link to the settings for Premiere Elements:
    http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2007/12/08/exporting-with-adobe-premiere-in-720p/
    Roughly, the answer is:
    Quicktime container
    Video codec: H.264
Quality: 80 (I used 100 and it just takes longer to encode)
Frame Rate: 29.97 (I guess if you are shooting in 24p, this might be different)
    Bitrate: 5000 (I might try 8000)
    Audio codec: AAC
    Output channels: Stereo
    Frequency: 48kHz
Now, my own personal changes to this recipe are:
Quality: 100 - takes longer to encode, no file size difference
    Bitrate: 8000
    Frequency: 44kHz (recommended by youtube)
One final note is that for Vimeo it appears you may have to try encoding in 29.97 or 23.97 and test to see which you like better. Apparently Vimeo caps fps at 24.
The nice thing about this is that you can get a quality video directly out of Premiere Elements and you don't have to pipe it through another program.

  • Exporting .MP4 in Premiere Elements 12

I've been searching for the correct way to export a file to .MP4 without having poor video quality or dropped frames. I've used the IPad Widescreen High Quality option and even the AVCHD .MP4 - HD 720p 60 option. The first produced a low video quality and the latter dropped frames.
I'm exporting to MP4 to post to youtube. I'm not sure if quantifying that helps, but yeah. Any sort of insight is greatly appreciated!

To get off on the right foot with this, what are the properties of this .mp4 source that you are bringing into a Premiere Elements 12 project?
What computer operating system are you running Premiere Elements 12 on?
I am looking for video and audio compression, frame size, frame rate, interlaced or progressive, pixel aspect ratio, duration for starters.
Based on these properties, what have you or the program set as the project preset for the project?
Based on the information that you supply, I will comment on the YouTube choices I would make for the best quality result for the upload to YouTube. What is your intent:
    a. export your Timeline to a file saved to computer hard drive and then upload that file to YouTube at the YouTube web site
    b. upload your Premiere Elements 12 Timeline to YouTube via Premiere Elements' Publish+Share/Social Websites/YouTube?
Your choices may be forced (limited) by the Premiere Elements....Social Website/YouTube limitations of 2.00 GB/15 min.
Looking forward to your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • Unable to load project (prel file)  into Premier Elements 7.0

just installed 7.0 ..when attempting to load a project (slide show for play back on a DVD) created in Elements 3.0 .. get error that "The project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or contain outdated elements" .. I have no problem loading the same project in Elements 3.0. Also seems specific to this file, an other project create under 3.0 appears to load with out error. I  should point out that  the project that will not load was created in Elements 5.0 and exported over to Premier Element 3.0 to create a playable DVD .. the file that will load was created in Premier Elements 3.0 (not sure if that is significant but more information is better then less) .. any thoughts / suggestions would be appreciated ..thanks

"The project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or contain outdated elements"
Unfortunately, the last part of that error says it all. Something is used, that no longer is in PE7, or has been changed significantly. Could be an Effect, a Transition (though those usually just disappear, and the file still Imports - PrPro gives a warning, and tells you which Transition is missing, and the TimeCode of where it was used), or something else.
If you have PE3, you can do two things:
1.) finish the edit there and Export to your delivery format
2.) Export a DV-AVI file and bring THAT into PE7
Neither is quite as good as being able to Import the .PREL and work on it in PE7, but those are about the only choices that I see. Now, if you have any clue as to what the Effect (whatever) is, that's causing the problem, you *might* be able to open a COPY of the .PREL in WordPad, search for that Effect, eliminate reference to it, and then Save as a .PREL. That might be a lot of work, and might well destroy that COPY of the file - that's why you work on a COPY.
    Good luck,

  • IBooks Author: in exported file, one page loads very slowly...

iBooks Author: in exported file, one page loads very slowly and drags when scrolling through pages, almost stopping the scroll.  I have never seen this problem before with photo pages.  Normally they scroll just as smoothly as text pages.
I have tried rebuilding the page with more compressed files to no avail.  The image files used on the page are not any bigger than others I have used previously without any problem.
I have tried restarting my iBook.
I am using a template that I have modified quite a bit.  The templates currently offered by Apple and third parties are not even close to what I am looking for in terms of layout, so I have to rip almost everything out of the page and start with a blank page, most of the time.  I tried modyfying the layouts to save time and then saved as a new template.  Apple really needs to add a module to create your own template at the beginning of a project.  Or they need to create one very open template, without much on the pages.

I finally solved the problem by using an unmodified template. I would still like to know how my modifications to the other template caused the problem, but for now it remains a mystery.  Thanks for your ideas.
Next I will try modifying the template without saving it as a template (merely saving it as a file) to see if I can get away with my modifications.  Also I will make fewer modifications.
Slowly but surely I am learning this program by trial and error.  Each time I try a few formatting variations, output an iBooks file, and open it on my iPad.  I have probably done 20 of these tests, so far.  Once I work out every detail of the design and structure, I will build the final book.  I am lucky to have a beautiful PDF of the hardcover version, generously provided by my publisher.  This not only sets a high bar for me, but also allows me to use some of their design elements via screen capture.
iBooks Author has great potential, but I along way to go to get there. One feature I would really like to see in the next update: the ability to add a hidden caption to a photo.  The reader would tap the image and the caption would appear. Tap again and it disappears.

  • Cleaning up the description field in the product export file?

    Hello.
Here's the challenge: I have a large product list with large descriptions; with commas and other sorts of punctuation in it that will not allow me to simply download a product export file and re-upload it again without a lot of manual work to clean up all the "descriptions..." A lot of manual work.
Anyone know of a good way, or Excel Macro that can be used to clean up or remove all commas from the Description field in a product export file. Or maybe ignore this column, or something?
Many Thanks would be in order!
    Tad

    Hi Nicole,
    Thanks for the quick response!
Yeah, it is odd, because I've seen it work with some simple test sites with a few products, but not so fortunate on this one and it has many products.
When I export the product list, all the data is generated in a single column, and a few bad characters in the first row, I'll highlight that column in Excel and "convert column to rows using comma delimited." I've tried a number of ways with the same results... For every comma in the description it'll push the text into the next column and offset the applicable information. In the end I have rows that don't have correct info and field elements not aligning with the right data. I'll end up getting a multitude of errors like the one below:
Error  ERROR: [No Name found]. Import process failed on record: [35] Please ensure 1) mandatory columns are present, 2) all products have Product Codes defined, which should be unique (if importing products)
Example of export down load - single column - one record with header
Example of column converted to rows - one record with header (partial copy to column S):
    Thanks for your feedback,
    Tad

  • Images exported to LR4 from Elements and then re-exported back to LR4 do not show up there

I have just upgraded from elements 6 and LR3 to Elements 11 and LR4.  I export from LR4 to Elements, adjust the image and 'save' as psd.  In LR3 the saved psd would be visible alongside the original image.  That doesn't happen now....which is a real pain.  What can I do to make it happen, please.

One possibility is that you accidentally opened a new/different catalog.

  • Cannot export the framemaker graphic element

    Hi you,
I need some help for exporting graphics on translation to XML. In general FM exports a changed graphic into a new *.cgm file. This works. Now I'd like to change the format to eps and wrote the read/write rules:
         element "Grafik" { is fm graphic element;
                                   writer anchored frame export to file "$(entity).eps" as "EPSI";}
When I save the FM document to XML, the message occurs: cannot export the FrameMaker graphic element () into the specified graphic format.
The XML will be created an also the entity for the graphic, but not the needed graphic file. What is wrong?
    Thanks,
    Stucki78

    Hi Maike,
the EPS is referenced in FM. In unstructured documents sometimes we added a text frame to the anchored frame, because it was easier for translation and we need only one graphic instead a graphic for each language. Now we want change to structured working in FM to give only one XML to the translator. The text frame then will cause a new graphic, but we still want translate the text inside the graphic. That is why we need EPS or something like this.
Do you have a better idea for the problem? We discussed the problem and think about leaving the text frame away and using a graphic for each language.

  • Importing project files into Premiere Elements 7

I have created a new project, imported several video clips and then created a video. It was only at the point of creating the video that I reliased that I had not created the project with the correct settings.
Although the video looked fine in the editing window, the final video had black bars at the sides, and above above and below the video, and fairly think black bars. I've tried exporting as different formats, and changing the aspect ratio, but this has not helped. I've attached a jpeg of what the video looks like in Quicktime.
Other video editing software I have used, has the ability to change the project settings after it has been created, and give a warning to the user about possible problems they may encounter by doing so.
This does not appear to be the case with Adobe Premiere Elements 7, and it is extremely frustrating!!
One thing which appears to be possible with Premiere Pro, and was also available on other editing software I have used, is the ability to import projects.
So... does anyone know if it is possible to import a Premiere Elements 7 project file into Premiere Elements 7? The aim here is to create a project with the correct settings, and then import the existing project file into the timeline.
I've tried hacking the project file, which has improved the video slightly, but still not what I was expecting.
    Cheers
    Paul

This problem should have been picked up by Adobe's test analyst during testing of the product.
I am sorry, but I am not following you on this. There are Presets to match many media types. I am not at all sure how Adobe could anticipate that a user would choose the wrong one.
As I said, PrPro CS4 will both allow you to Import your .PREL (with the caveats mentioned), and work on the Project with Sequence settings to match. Unfortunately, PrE is a much less sophisticated and expensive program, than is PrPro CS4.
I'd be happy to Import your file, in PrPro with the proper Presets, but the rub would be that PrE cannot Open .PRPROJ files, so you still could not edit it.
Sorry, but the first rule of any NLE is to establish Presets that match one's Assets. PrPro CS4 (not before that version) allows one to cover their mistakes a bit, but there is still some work getting the improperly set Sequence's material into a new, properly set Sequence.
If you have access to PrPro CS4, and can finish your Project there, that would be the best. Next would be to create a New Project with the proper Presets and chalk up the lost time as a learning experience.
Sorry ot bear the bad news.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How do i get flv files in premiere elements

how can i get the premiere elements to use flv. files?

    verdanexi
What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system it is running?
In the absence of that information, the following is a generalized no can do answer.
Although files with flv file extensions can be exported from Premiere Elements, you cannot import flv files into Premiere Elements.
There used to be a time when earlier versions could use a Moyea plug-in to force Premiere Elements to accept flv files.
    how to edit .flv files
Your flv are going to have to be converted into another format before import into Premiere Elements if you want to use Premiere Elements as your video editor.

The link is provided for informational rather than promotional reason. I have not used it, but I have seen reports that it is free and works well for flv to avi.
