Exporting flash files as HTML5

Is there a way of exporting more complex flash animations to HTML5 please? I create scientific animations in flash - http://www.liquidjigsaw.com/science/animation - and my clients now wish them to be viewable on an ipad.
Also the new animations I create have been requested in HTML5. I have done lots of research and installed the Toolkit for JSCreate for flash but this only works for very simple animations.
This is becoming a big concern for my business - can you advise please? Or should I no longer be using Flash?

Yes I think the AIR files can be put on a website but they can also be distributed outside the App Store. This is called ad-hoc distribution and is a privilege that comes with being a Registerd Apple Developer although you are limited to 100 devices per year.
Adobe AIR (for iOS or for Android) has allowed me to port many pieces of Flash work straight over to mobile devices with only a few lines of ActionScript needing to be changed. So Flash does run on iOS (although inside a native wrapper)!

  • How to make exported Flash files as small as possible?

I am producing some Web Presenter videos, and they are going to be embedded onto a website.
    This is my current workflow:
.Import video and then Key it in Adobe Ultra
.Import keyed footage into After Effects to allow me to set pixel dimensions for composition
    .Render as flash file
Currently, I am rendering them as .Flv (web small) in the settings, but the files are coming out at 8-12mb, and the video is only 60 seconds long. I have seen some guys get flash videos of this length down to 3mb.
My question, am I rendering under the most sensible settings, or is there something better I should be doing? I need to keep the files small, but without losing much quality.
Here is an example of a recent Web Presenter I did: http://www.ukpostbox.com
I did the filming and presentation, and a friend (who has since died) did the editing. It will give you an example of the effect I'm looking for. Also, is the 'start' button something I can add myself, or is that normally done by the web designers at the clients end?
You might need to explain everything in simple terms to me as I am very new to After Effects, and this type of editing system.
    Thanks,
    James.

You may also have to edit the export settings.
When you export to flv with the preconfiguration "web small" you shall dig in it and adjust the data rate (lower it until you get the quality you want).
Sadly, encoding isn't a skill that have a long curve of learning, and relying on pressets is just the first step (and encoding much depends on what is in the frame, so it's a science by itself as soon as you want more control on your outputs). Also, AE is a compositing system, not an encoding software, so if you have the Production Premium, Master Coolection or Premiere, you should definitly want to export your project from the Adobe Media Encoder.
One of the most important step in downsizing the size of your video while keeping quality is to do "dual pass" encoding, and AE can't do that.
The great thing is that you can import an AE composition right inside AME, so you don't need to do a temp encoding.

  • Exported Flash files make annoying clicks in Windows IE

On Firefox and Safari on OS X I can embed a Flash file exported from Keynote in a web page and view it with no problems.
However, at every slide change in Windows Internet Explorer, there is an extremely annoying clicking sound. It seems this is by design in IE -- any refresh is supposed to generate a click, and the change from slide 1 to slide 2, etc., apparently counts as a refresh.
(For what it's worth, in IE the URL is appended with #SlideFrame_1, then #SlideFrame_2, and so on. That suffix does not appear in either OS X browser. The click happens at the transitions from #SlideFrame_n to #SlideFrame_n+1).
I want to embed the exported flash on a web page and auto-run it, but Windows users will hear an irritating click-click-click until they navigate away from the site -- which they'll probably do quickly before they go crazy from the sound!
Any ideas on how to export Flash movies in a way that avoids this, or any tools to modify the Flash file so IE doesn't think it's refreshing?
(FYI -- while I'd prefer to export Quicktime, it's only on about 60% of my site visitor's browsers, while Flash is on over 95%).

    Greg,
Have you found a solution for this problem? I too am experiencing the same problems.

  • Exporting Flash Files (which contain embedded movie clips) to Quicktime!

Since the recent Quicktime upgrade to 7.1.3 I have had trouble with the
animations I've made in Flash and exported to Quicktime. Most of the time,
my flash animations require flash movie clips embeded in the flash timeline.
In the past, when I have exported these flash animations as Quicktime files,
there is no problems, but now, since the upgrade, the export does not play
back properly, and it is obvious that Quicktime is unhappy with these
embedded clips within the flash timeline. Is there a way around this
problem? A way for me to maintain embedded movie clips in my timeline and
still export a working Quicktime file!?!

I've never mastered Flash but I know a lot about how QuickTime works.
I do know that some Flash features are limited to specific "publish" versions and some newer ones are not supported in older publish states.
Could you export two files (background and focus object) and test the actions?
QuickTime uses "layers" (lower layer numbers are on the "top"). Adding multiple layers to a .mov file is easy with Pro but Flash tracks that contain mouse actions must be on the top layer. If the track layer is behind another it may still appear (via transparency) but not be able to hold mouse actions.
One of my "movies" that uses Flash tracks and sprites:

  • Export flash file for a touch screen at 1920x1080 resolution

    Hi all,
we are trying to export a flash file at 1920 resolution fron CS5.1 Encore. it does not give an option for this, max is 1280x720.
will we be able to do this if we upgrade to CS6?
what is the best way to get an applitation running for a touchs creen at this resolution?
    many thanks!
    Alessa

Can't test the encode at the moment, but on the build tab, use "Edit Quality Presets," select F4v, then change the profile to High. If you try 1920 without the change, you are prompted to change the profile/level. I do not know what options work for the flash export. But I was able to set a 1920x1080 preset.
    Save the custom preset.
The system automatically applied the custom preset to the build.
Edit: Sorry; this is CS6, but I don't think the ability to edit presets changed. Don't know about the max size.

  • Quick white "flash" at beginning of exported flash file

i've created something i've exported to a flash file that is embedded into an html file. when i load it (on a black background -- color doesn't matter) i get a quick but noticeable white flash just before the animation itself begins.
the background of the file is black. it seems as though keynote is inserting a frame before the actual layout even begins to load.
anyone know a way around this?
    thanks!
    mike

When is this happening? Please indicate whether it is during the playing of:
    -the preview in iDVD,
    -a disk image,
    -or a burned DVD.

    Hi MooksGoo_howdy
There's a fair bit of discussion of this topic in http://forums.adobe.com/message/4635231#4635231.
In general you have to manually create the file/folder structure the SWF expects in the hosting environment. There's no way for Muse to know what files the SWF depends upon, if any, and where they need to be located.
A SWF that has external dependencies will never work in Muse Preview or Muse Preview in Browser, but can be made to work on a published/uploaded site by manually using an FTP client to create the file/folder structure the SWF requires.

  • Premiere Pro CC won't play my Flash files

In older versions of Premiere (CS6), I was able to play Flash flv files in my movie sequence. I would download the flv files from iStock as comps and play them in the movie as placeholders until I was ready to purchase them. They no longer play in Premiere CC. What happened and how can I get around this without using an old version of Premiere?
    Thanks!!!

I am getting error saying 'Install latest flash player'.
Is there any way to export  swf files in different  versions?
Is this build is compatible with only flash 10?

  • Exporting InDesign files to Flash, CS5.5

I exported an InDesign file as a Flash file but in flash it shows up as low res when I preview it or when others preview it. What am I doing wrong? I have never used Flash before. I am working with CS5.5
I exported the file as a SWF file and when a colleague viewed it, she said it was quite pixelated.
What should I do? Is there a better method for someone very very new to Flash?

you can set the export resolution and package quality in Export SWF window´s Advanced Tab.
Higher resolution will not help if the original quality of your placed images is low.
And don´t set the resolution too high, if you have lot´s of images you may end up having a bloated SWF.

Hi, I have the same issue??
Even when exporting as an interactive pdf.
My problem is that I am trying to figure out how to export my swf embedded file into an interactive pdf.
I have created an interactive presentation with buttons, effects etc. After which I exported to swf so that all the effects work.
But when placing the swf file back into indesign and exporting again as an interactive pdf it doesn't work at all, all I get is a white screen. (I need a pdf for clients basically, they dont want any swf or flash files.)
Even though after placing the swf file, in the media window I ticked play on page load as well as chose a cover image for the swf file. Still just a white screen when exporting.
To repeat, I need to know how to convert my swf file into an interactive pdf.
Any pointers please would be great I have some swf presentations I need to change into pdf as soon as possible or before tomorrow to be exact before our monthly meeting with clients.
    Please help

  • Keynote and Flash export. No sound in the flash file

    Oh well...
Here I am again. I have recorded speech for my slide show as a narration and there is a sound file on every slide. The sound files are mp3s (Exported from Audacity as mp3 ID3v1). Come to playing the show and the sound doesn't play. All the builds still play correctly but sound there aint. How do I fix it?

That parameter just has to do with playback from your computer. From all the reading that I have done lately it seems that Flash 6 only supports 3 differnet type of sound files.
Supports PCM, ADPCM and MP3 audio/sound playback for the speaker and headphone.

This would be why all those other types of files that you put in a project wont export. Flash 6 doesn't support them. Also looking at the release notes (tucked away in the Macromedia/Adobe archives) Flash Player 6.0r40 and later supports MP3 files with ID3 v1.0 and v1.1 tags.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/releasenotes/player/rn_6.html
Now I tested my Flash file with ID3 v2.0 tags and if worked fine. I think it has something to do with give the taags to the player so the player can do something with them (check the link above). Also having flash player 9 might have something to do with it. Anyway the ID3 v 1.0 tags are more compatable with software than the v2.0 tags. So I would use v1.0 anyway. I think that is what iTunes/QT uses anyway.
Also another thing that is weird about this whole saga is that I checked the Audio MIDI settings earlier in the piece. They were set to the correct setting. Audacity must have changed it back (of maybe something else did). But I did notice a little white noise when I did start playing my Audacity tracks (like a skip on a LP). Happens when the setting is changed. But the strange thing is that I have no idea what was causing it to change to 96000 Hz. I suppose it doesn't matter too much but rather that know that it happens. (I do remeber a time when a Flash file did it. I have a slow conection and I think that the player did something weird. That's another story)

  • 9-scaling issue re-exporting from flash file

    Hi,
I seem to have come across a consistent bug which is preventing me from progressing.  I am creating assets in Flash which I am exporting as a swc file to be used in a Flex application.  I have created a simple scrollbar thumb asset which is basically a rounded cornered rectangle and have added 9 slice lines to ensure the curved areas are outside of the scaling area.  I convert the asset to a flex component and export as a swc file.  When I test this asset in a simple swc inspector tool (built by one of the devs on my Flex project) I can manipulate the height and width and the 9-scaling works correctly.  My problem occurs when I close the originating .fla file and close flash, re-open and without making any changes to the flash file re-export as a swc.  When I do this the 9-scaling no longer works!
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I am running a Mac with CS5 installed, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ed

    Its been resolved. Thanks
