Exporting Flash movie

I'm very new to flash, and I'm trying to export a simple
little 30 second video clip so my web designer can put it on our
website. I imported the .flv movie into a new project. tested it
and it worked fine. The movie is stored on my video drive.
I exported the movie from the project, to a portable drive to
deliver to my designer believing that it would be a self contained
piece of flash, but the Flash movie won't play unless my video
drive is hooked up to my computer. I then decided to build the
entire project in my small portable drive and store the original
movie on that drive and it worked, but there must be a more elegant
way to do this.
any suggestions would be helpful.
thx...jw

you should play your flv file using a swf created by a fla,
not import it into a the flash authoring environment.

  • Problems with exporting flash movie to AVI movie

Hi, I have created a flash movie with motion tweens for my lettering and added external images for my backgrounds and symbols to create a presentation. The presentation works perfect in Flash, but the problem is when I export it to an AVI movie, the lettering is totally gone for each slide and only the images of backgrounds and symbols are working.
I keeping getting an error in the output box everytime I play the movie in flash:
    Error opening URL 'http://fpdownload.adobe.com/pub/swz/crossdomain.xml'
I don't know if this helps.

Not sure you posted this issue to the correct forum. This is the Adobe Connect Forum not the Flash forum. You might get better results in the Flash forum.
I think your conversion tool is doing that. Maybe another one would be better.

  • Exporting flash movie in 4:3 aspect ratio

I need to export my flash movie so the aspect ratio is 4:3.
However, the few compression settings I have chosen have resulted
in really poor quality video. The setting that looks perfect is
DVCPRO HD 720p60, however the dimensions of this is 1280 x 720, and
since i need to post this on the web, the dimensions need to be 720
x 480. I've tried compressing the video in Compressor, but once
    again, the quality is crap.
What is the best 4:3 compression setting to use in order to
    get optimal video quality?
I have Flash 9 and Mac OS 10.5.4

That is how the studio supplied them. This is not an Apple TV issue.

  • Best way to export flash movie for JAVA

Here is my dilema. I get all kinds of flash movies to post to our site. I had been asking for a final output of  .swf, whenever possible. Occassionally I get some videos that have a player and I wind up with .swf and some related FLV files, which we always have problems with in our JAVA environment. We have issues locating the player files, sometimes they don't play for people with particular browsers etc.. The coders tell me that it is a problem with the "base" locations, and recommend that we get a single swf file and have the videos and players embedded into the .swf. They tell me that the browser sometimes cannot find  the supporting files, and that it forces them to post the flash files on the root directory. Any ideas what might be happening here?
One other thing - I currently have an embedded swf file on one of our sites. It seems pretty heavy and skips - our Flash Developer did not include a loader. I sent it back to him to compress the file and include the swf. The developer is telling me that compressing the file won't do anything for me an that we should export it as an FLV file or have the FLV load into the swf. For one thing this is not a video - so I am not understanding why we would need an FLV. Am I misunderstanding something here.
    Thanks!

Thanks again Winston. (You helped me out in the past).
In my playing around, I was leaning toward AIC with a compressor pre-set of 1080i or p would give me decent results on export. I'm still a little confused over a number of the other options, and this seemed simplistic. (I'm still learning here as I go).
One question on that though if you would. Am I best off leaving the FPS settings to current? I am assuming I can experiment with that if I want to keep a computer copy, but for back to tape purposes, that seems to make sense to my simple mind.
On a side note, I was quite surprised at how good the default "large" export looks when viewed on the computer. I may keep that as my default for iTunes\Front Row.
    Thanks again.

  • Export flash movie to play on domestic DVD

I need to create a Flash movie with a spinning logo on a
bitmap background that can be played for at least an hour on a DVD
player through a regular widescreen flat panel TV . I can easily
make the flash movie and make it loop, but I have no idea how to
make it run on a DVD player for the TV nor what resolution will be
    required.
Can any one please help me?

be sure, your iM project is located in the 'Movies' folder of your Mac.
    Launch iDVD

    click on Media/Movies
    drop project into window...
    choose 'create image' under file...
be sure, 10 - 15 GB of free disk space still avail on your internal harddrive...

    launch Toast (or Disk Utility)
'copy' the mounted (virtual) DVD onto a dvd-r ...
... should work, should play on PCs (Windows needs an additional DVDplayer app! Windows-out-of-the-box does NOT play standard videoDVDs.. )

  • Exporting Flash Movie to QuickTime Movie...

I am having problems Exporting from Flash to QT. I go through the steps and all appears to going well, except when it comes to the final bars of export, that is when the exporting stops. What is going on here? Any suggestion on correcting the problem? Please help.
    boijacks

The same thing happens to me. It is a bug with Adobe Flash. I convert my Flash projects with Visual Hub or After Effects CS4. Handbrake can convert Flash to QT now, but the quality, while acceptable is not as good as Visual Hub which is now out of business.
The other thing that I suggest is lengthen your time when coverting to QT so as not to chop off your video. Then edit, cut the excess time in QT pro.

  • Export a Flash Movie File

Can you Export Flash Movie files to other formats?? Don see
an Export to other File options.
Would like to Export a Flash Movie or SWF file to a Quicktime
    or IPOD MPEG File.
Anyone know where to do this? Do not see an Export to File
option to that Format on Flash Pro CS.
    Thanks

Without seeing your movie, its difficult to tell where the
problem may be. My first guess is that the data rate is to high.
You will probably need to choke that back in some way: lower the
data rate for the compressor, reduce the frame rate, reduce the
image size, reduce the color depth, etc.
When you select to export to QT, for example, a new window
opens to let you select some basic settings. At the lower right of
that window is a button titled "Quicktime Settings...". Click that
button and a new window will open that will allow you to set the
    compressor, frame rate, quality, etc.

  • How large can a flash movie be ?

i am buiilding a larger interactive site than i have before,
that contains a lot of images.
i haven't posted it on the web yet, but in testing the movie
it seems to freeze or go extremely slowly while "exporting flash
    movie "
is there a limit to how much you can put in a flash movie,
    and what is it ?

Probably the limit of what you can stand! There is a limit of
16000 frames in the timeline, but that probably isn't what you are
    running into here.
If you have lots of images and maybe some video, and your swf
is maybe over 1Meg or even 500K then perhaps you are taking the
wrong approach. You should probably look into having external
assets that are cleverly preloaded just when they are needed.
This will cut down on publish time, but will also produce a
better experience for the end user and allow the flash player to
    better manage memory usage.
    Look into the MovieClipLoader class.

  • Exported Flash files make annoying clicks in Windows IE

On Firefox and Safari on OS X I can embed a Flash file exported from Keynote in a web page and view it with no problems.
However, at every slide change in Windows Internet Explorer, there is an extremely annoying clicking sound. It seems this is by design in IE -- any refresh is supposed to generate a click, and the change from slide 1 to slide 2, etc., apparently counts as a refresh.
(For what it's worth, in IE the URL is appended with #SlideFrame_1, then #SlideFrame_2, and so on. That suffix does not appear in either OS X browser. The click happens at the transitions from #SlideFrame_n to #SlideFrame_n+1).
I want to embed the exported flash on a web page and auto-run it, but Windows users will hear an irritating click-click-click until they navigate away from the site -- which they'll probably do quickly before they go crazy from the sound!
Any ideas on how to export Flash movies in a way that avoids this, or any tools to modify the Flash file so IE doesn't think it's refreshing?
(FYI -- while I'd prefer to export Quicktime, it's only on about 60% of my site visitor's browsers, while Flash is on over 95%).

    Greg,
Have you found a solution for this problem? I too am experiencing the same problems.
    Best,
    Terence

  • Quicktime Conversion doesn't but compressor doesvscrew my flash movies

I've been trying to explore the cause of a problem I am having using compressor 3.5 to export Flash Movies. Before the Snow Leopard upgrade I had no problems. But after the snow leopard upgrade when i export to .flv's using either my custom setting or the default high, med, low quality settings, the outputs have screen flickers the whole way thru unless the keyframe interval is set to 1.
However if I use export>quicktime conversion straight out of FCP the files are ok. Can any one divine the reason my compressor workflow is producing these corrupted .flv's, and do you have an idea on how I might fix it?
Obviously I have a slower workaround but my current tasks require the batch power of compressor.

  • Flash CS4 won't export to .mov PLEASE HELP ME!!

Like the title says, i've been trying to export my .fla as a .mov from the Export>Export Movie option in the File menu. It will start exporting but once the progress meter gets to the end it just stops and never finishes.
I don't think it has anything to do with:
    A: multiple scenes
B: actionscript directing to each scene
    C: movieclips
since I was doing the exact same thing in CS3 without a problem.
What i'm doing now in CS4 that I wasn't in the CS3 version:
    A: Motion tweens
B: importing .ai files to my library
C: using symbols created for flash in illustrator from imported .ai files.

Thank you Zombie. Specifying the length helped me export as a quicktime movie.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a rubbish piece of coding in Flash CS4 that doesn't let you export a movie over 1 minute long without specifying the length of movie.
Ridiculous really. I expect this could be fixed in seconds by Adobe, but instead I'm left trawling the internet for hours wasting budget.

  • Flash Movie export with Keynote

Hi, I am using Keynote this time mainly to make a Flash movie for a website. However, when I export the movie to SWF format, the file is quite large (About 9mb) too large for use online.
Does anyone know, is there a way to reduce this filesize? I looked to see if it is possible to make the canvas smaller than 800x600, as I only really need it to be about 500x400. Didn't see a place to make it smaller than 800x600.
Any reccomendations would be great, thanks.

There is a program that reduces flash file sizes
    http://www.eltima.com/products/flash-optimizer-mac/
It compresses the file size, not sure if it resizes the dimensions

  • Export for flash-movie file conversion.

I want to prepare files for the highest quality possible for conversion to flash-movie files. I recorded in HDV- edited in HDV- send to Color in HDV- and now my question is if I should send it to FCP from Color in 10 bit-uncompressed to keep the highest quality?
Also at the end exporting from FCP- should I change my sequence settings? Again I need the very highest quality for later conversion to a flash-movie file, and was told that uncompressed is the way to go??
    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks- Adam.

"Keeping" the quality isn't really the issue-- if you're working in HDV, there's nothing to gain by going to Uncompressed, because you weren't working in Uncompressed in the first place. The exception to this is color grading and graphics: ideally, you would be working in a higher quality sequence such as ProRes (Uncompressed is probably overkill) in both FCP and Color.
Of course, I can't honestly say that any of this will make a difference in a Flash movie-- Flash is for web delivery, and to bring it down to a bitrate suitable for the web, you'll likely lose anything you might have gained from this process.

  • Not able to export quicktime movie from Flash CS5 or CS6.

Hi! I am not able to export quicktime movie from Flash CS5 or CS6. When I export it the progress bar is showing and says Recording Flash content and nothing happens

I havent exported any videos in the past from Flash. The movie is around 45 seconds and the size is 470KB.
I tried both, the memory and the hard drive.
In the attached image you can see the settings and in the other image you can see the progress bar that remains without something to happen.
I dont mind what type of video to export it can be also .avi but again I have troubles there. It is very large and the animation is distorted.
The animation consist from two scenes. The first one can be exported without any problem but the second one cannot be exported. May be because it has some masks layers and guide layers?
