  • Encoding in H.264 for You Tube

I am trying to export from CS3 (Adobe Media Encoder) to h.264 (for You Tube).
    Setup: Video at 30fps 640 x 480, audio at 192Kbps, 44.1, Stereo.  Video.
While  the output (video) is crispy clear - much clearer than what I got with WME (producing a WMV), the audio/video are out of sync (nearly half a second).  I do not have this with other formats.
I also tried video at 29.97 fps but it does not help.
    Any suggestions ?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Welcome to the discussions, foxale08.
Yes, 768 is the total number, so your video or video+audio have to fall below 768.

  • Not able to optimize for You Tube

So I have been using Adobe Premiere for almost a year and a half and the one thing that has bothered me is that no matter what I do I can't get full HD Video's (I am filming with a 720 camera) and it won't optimize for You Tube and will always look like this
I have looked up several guides and no matter what I do it does not change any guides I might be missing or something wrong I would love to use the full potential that I can.

AME has quite a number of YouTube presets ... one of 'em should pretty close to match expectations.

  • Ad blocker for you tube is not blocking ads

I installed the ad blocker that was listed for you tube. But I am still seeing ads.
Is there something more I need to do?

    Hello,
    Try contacting the developer:
    * http://www.vhunters.com/site.php#contacts
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/smart-ads-blocker/
It could be that YouTube changed how ads are loaded and the developer needs to update the extension.

  • HT1430 I suddenly can.t access you tube via videos via my iPad . Tried via safari and you tube app on iPad but it says no videos and  then ask me for  you tube password . Never had to use a pass word

I suddenly can,t access you tube videos via my iPad. Tried safari and you tube app on iPad. I get no videos  and then it asks for you tube password. Not had that before.

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.
    Thanks

What is the best way to export from iM 6 to use on You tube?

    easiest and best for me:
Export/Quicktime/Expert .. Quicktime/iPhone-preset.. creates small but high quality files, YT enocdes to an 'acceptable' quality..
notice the new feature of YT, explained on my ad-free website:
    http://karsten.schluter.googlepages.com/watchyourytvideoinhires
or, use other free services as vimeo.com, which allows much better quality..

  • How to cut upload time for You tube?

It took me 3 hours to upload on to my DeskTop and 17 hours for a twenty minute video on You Tube. Is there a quicker way?

The fastest way out of FCPX to YouTube is to Export your video using Current Settings (have your storyline completely rendered first) and using another application to compress the video to H.264, at a reasonable size, to upload to YouTube.
FCPX exports H.264 at its highest quality... that can be anywhere from 17Mbps to over 50Mbps... that means basically, almost NO compression at all. For most accounts, youtube has a size limit anyway, and I'm sure that accounts for most upload failures from FCPX.
Personally, I prefer Quicktime 7 Pro over Compressor. It is *FAR LESS* complicated and yields (from my experience) better results (but I'm probably just blowing the compressor jobs trying to tweak all the particulars.)
YouTube has specific criteria that it *prefers* to receive anyway. They want:
H.264 @ 30fps (or 29.97, since, that IS the real 30fps) optimized for streaming + Fast Start (prepare for streaming) [** 720/60 media is ok... 24fps/25fps -- again: ok but their spedifications outline 30 as prefered.]
Audio in AAC @ 44.1kHz (bitrate is somewhat flexible -- between about 80 and 192 kbps -- I generally use a 160kbps variable bitrate setting)  [PS -- 48kHz is going to be ok -- but keep in mind, if YT finds video it thinks it can do a better job of compressing -- it WILL... if you stay within the guidelines, your video stands a better chance of making it in the condition *you* intended and not sustaining a surprise recompression at their hands.]
YT "recommends" setting the compressor (whatever app you use to encode/transcode) to Best Quality -- but they're going to resize/recompress the video if it's too high a bitrate anyway, so the best thing to do is find your own "comfort zone" and YT's re-compressors will generally leave your video unchanged...
I have found (relatively good) success with 1080/30p (meaning 29.97) @ 4 to 5 Mbps depending... (moving gradients/ high action sequences will require more -- you can get away with up to about 18Mbps -- or about what the average consumer grade camcorder will produce since many of them have direct to youtube upload faciility.) For 720/60 or 30p, you can scale back the bitrate about 1.5 Mbps on the low end (so: about 2.5 - 3 Mbps). [you can judge the difference for SD from the two samples represented above.]  [PS - scaling a 720/60p down to a 30p will not get you a better/smaller file size; and frequently, you'll get just the opposite -- larger!]
You should create about a 5 second clip from the most active part of your video; export it and test compress it at various bitrates and find the lowest bitrate that results in video that is practially indistinguishable from the high quality settings. That will be your target bitrate.
In general, my compressed H.264 videos will be about 10-15% the size of the ProRes export from FCPX. That's a good size to upload to YouTube.
There's one more thing about YouTube (although I don't know if it's still in effect - things might have changed, but I don't take the chance) -- the Player... it has this little control thingy at the bottom... It has been my belief that YT squeezes the playing video vertically slightly to make room for it [this squeezing creates artifacts especially around small text]. To compensate for that, I usually set my Export settings for 1920 x 1062 (and enable Preserve Aspect Ratio by Letterbox [pillarboxing attempts to extend the video back down to 1080 - I want it to maintain the vertical aspect]). I don't think the viewers ever notice the very slight pillarboxing on either side, and all the small text looks considerably better when I do this. You cannot export from FCPX in custom sizes like that; so for my purposes, this process I've just outlined is the one that works best -- for me. YMMV.

  • Plug-ins for You Tube blocked?

My kids regularly look at videos on You Tube. This morning, for some reason, they could not look at any because the plug -ins are blocked.
We've downloaded an updated version of Adobe (flash?) but it doesn't change anything- we're still blocked.
I have not changed any of my settings.
Any idea what's going on and how to fix it?
    thanks:)

  • Creating HD video for You Tube with PRE.7

    Hello,
I need help and am turning to this forum.  I cannot get my video once I have edited it in PRE7 to upload to You Tube in an HD format with an aspect ratio of 16.9 (widescreen).
I am using Adobe Pre Element 7.0 for editing video.
I am shooting the video with a VIO POV helmet camera.  I shoot video in the following formats, I am using all the highest seetings.
    Frame Rate:  30fps
    Resolution:  720X480
Formats:  MPEG4 AVI (DivX Codec) digital
My computer has plenty of power/speed/memory to handle these applications.
    http://www.youtube.com/user/TheSkiGuru#p/a/u/2/6OhinNxJD3s
I am not having trouble editing the videos in PRE7.  My problem is when I upload to You Tube it is not in the widescreen aspect ratio.  I have attached a link that illustrates this (above).  You can see the You Tube is recognizing an HD format in the options it provides.
How do I get my videos to save on the 16.9 widescreen format?
    Thanks,
    Ethan

How do I match that with what PRE7 gives me for options?  I tried using using other formats and have not stumbled across one that works even in lower quality widescreen 16.9 settings.
If I have a bunch of video saved to my hard drive as the following which preset get me the wide screen HD?
    Frame Width 720
    Frame Height 480
    Data rate 3110kbps
    Total bitrate 3174kbps
    30 frames/sec
    AVI video clip
If my source is the issue can I do something about it?  Shot in a 110 wide angle...looks like You Tube gets 4.3 aspect no matter what?
I think I may have issues getting my vidoe and PRE7 to work together...or maybe it is You Tube?

  • Server rejecting file - why is it rejecting my iMovie - exporting to you tube????

why is my server (and I have more than enough gigs-- small movie of 2 mins) rejecting my imovie - this is the message that I am getting when attempting to export imovie to you tube

a DVD is 720x480 and highly compressed.
… how to export a pixel-for-pixel, frame-for-frame replication of what iMovie apparently effortlessly displays??
video is compressed - otherwise, files are getting gargantual (a top-notch intermediate in FCPX is 40-120GBs per hour, a disk, for comparrison is 4GB/h).
    two options:
    • in the Export with Quicktime Option, you'll find a bit-rate setting - depending on your other settings (resolution, framerate, codec), 5-10.000 kbps should result in a superb result.
    • instead of a playback-optimized codec as usual h.264, you can give AppleAnimation a try - much larger files, but e.g. less banding. only for use on Macs.
to transfer lossless to iDVD, choose AppleIntermediate, which is iMovies internal codec.
.... but a disk with same quality as a computer HDef? Not possible.

  • Final Cut Pro Export To You Tube blurry

    Hello there
I have just finished editing an HD video using final cut pro. I output as a mater file and it looks great! Crystal clear!
I then tried to upload to YouTube, the 360 version (lowest quality) is very blurred but the HD version is crystal clear? Problem is most peoples YouTube will default to 360 or 420 and the video just doesnt look good? I have not had this issue before? I have used a different camera this time, that is the only diference I can think of? I have also tried the direct upload to YouTube from FCP with the same result. I would have thought this option would use the optimum codec for YouTube?? So disappointed as the video looks great and dont want a blurry video being out there??

YOuTube recompresses the video. Can you post a link to it?
