Exporting From FCP3 through QT6.

I'm exporting in OSX.3.9 at the moment from FCP3 using QT6 having read in the advice columns that a better result for iDVD6 will result(the first effort using FCP and make movie self contained resulted in a juddering film.) The original is edited from a VHS tape. I'ts been exporting now for 5 hours and tells me there is another 17 houra to go! I've left it going for the moment. Can/will anyone tell me what remedy I need if any... ?

Can/will anyone tell me what remedy I need if any... ?
Don't quite understand the nature of your question here. If complaining about the time, it once took me 32 hours to convert a 96 minute Dr. Who movie on a 533 MHz single CPU G4 for burning to DVD using the highest quality settings available. (Also, video half of file creation may take several hours while the audio half may zip through in minutes.) Since you have not stated what format you trying to output, it is difficult to make comparisons here. Would normally use compressor to output files from FCP to DVDSP or a QT DV reference file if going to iDVD. (Latter work flow should only take several minutes rather than several hours but would, in turn, take hours to image for burning in iDVD.) As to "juddering," have not experienced this problem in my normal work flows.

  • Problem exporting from FCP using compressor

Out of the blue - I'm getting batch failures trying to export from FCP for use in a DVD. Immediately after selecting compressor for export, I get an error reading "That file already exists", and a new tab appears in the media browser with a lengthy character string. Compressor opens fine, and I select Best Quality 4:3 encoding for video and aiff48 for audio. When the batch is submitted - it promptly fails and blames FCP for generating an error.
Did all kinds of restarts and work arounds to no avail. The promising news is that this error seems to occur only when exporting from FCP through Compressor.
My work-around is to export a QT movie of the piece, quit FCP, launch Compressor, and then import the QT for batching.
Hope this helps anyone else in similar situations

    Hi:
    How long is your movie?
The best workflow is FCP > Compressor > DVDSP.
You can encode your timeline directly to get MPEG2 video and Dolby 2 (AC3) audio files. Then import those in DVDSP and author your DVD.
Using Compressor you control the full encoding process. You can test with small parts of your movie (those where you got problems with iDVD) and find the best encoding options fopr your footage.
Of course the DVDSP learning curve is longer than iDVD but once you learned ir you probably never go back. Like iMovie and FCP.
To give you detailed info about what encoding settings to use you must post some info about your FCP project.
    Hope that helps !

  • Exporting from Prem CS6 through Media Encoder CS6 gives 'media offline' frames

    Hi
I'm having problems with Prem and Media Encoder.
If I 'queue' the output of a project and use AME, wherever there are graphics laid on top of HDV footage in a PP sequence, AME is adding a red frame that says 'media offline' in several languages. If I 'export' from PP without using AME, it renders fine.
Everything looks good in the PP sequence, all files are present and work fine, so I deduce this is an issue between PP and AME.
Is this a known problem? IS there a workaround?
This system has successfully completed other projects recently. The overlaid graphics in this case are TIFFS, would that cause a difference?
I'm a long time PP/AME user - but CS4 on PC until recently when I bought PP CS6 for Mac, running it on a maxed out iMac.
OS and Adobe are fully up to date, and have tried a restart.
    Thanks

    Bump!
    Nothing from Adobe on this?

  • Aspect ratio issues in iDVD with mov files exported from FCE

Please help. I believe this is an iDVD bug. I have found some relevant discussion of it on online forums - but have not found a solution that works for me. I am looking for a workaround.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1356500&tstart=31
    PROBLEM STATEMENT:
My 4:3 movies, exported from FCE in QT-with-conversion formats (any 4:3 format) - appear in iDVD with gray side-pillars (as expected for 4:3) AND with a black line (letter-boxing) at top and bottom - as would be for 16:9. It appears the aspect ratio is also distorted i.e. 16:9. (The iDVD project is set to 4:3.)
1- A 4:3 mov file exported from FCE using Quicktime Movie format (no conversion) does not have the problem, but I cannot de-interlace the video using this export mode.
    2) A 4:3 mov file exported using QT-with-conversion mode (any 4:3 format) DOES have the problem. I need to use this mode in order to get de-interlace.
(Exception: 640x480 VGA mode does not have the black lines, and it displays correctly in dvd player on my computer screen - but on the TV screen, it crops content from the top and bottom of the movie, so this is not an option.)
    3) In Finder, if you click on mov file exported QT-only (no conversion), it opens in the FCE viewer. If you click on mov file exported in any other 4:3 mode, it opens in Quicktime viewer (i.e. there is absolutely something different in the header/ID of these files.)
    4) All mov files, regardless of export mode, show correctly in Quicktime viewer - no black line, no distortion. The problem does not occur outside of iDvd.
    5) I tried passing the QT-with-conversion mov files through an Inverse-Anamorphicizer (per suggestion on forum - this apparently fixed the problem for some people) but the resulting output mov (i.e. the inverted product) still had the same problem.
I am, so far, left with this trade-off: Give up the de-interlacing, or live with the letter-boxing/ distortion. Neither is acceptable.
I am looking for a workaround:
    1) A way to export de-interlaced 4:3 mov from FCE that shows in correct ratio in iDVD
    2) A way to "convert" / re-head mov file after exported so that it displays corrrectly (inverse-anamorphicize) so that iDVD reads it correctly
    3) Can the mov be de-interlaced after the fact (so I could use QT export without conversion)?
    4) Something besides iDVD to put this together - that doesn't have this problem? (I like and want to use the iDVD menu/theme.)
    5) Other?????
I also notice that all the QT-with-conversion mov files are 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the QT-only mov file, which is valuable and preferable to me. (I don't see any quality difference in the display...)

In the Preview window > top frame > middle button
do you have correct for pixel aspect ratio checked or not?

  • Single Page PDF Export from InDesign?

We've just started sending our catalogs direct to the printer, rather than sending them through a pre-press house. We've fixed most of the snags, but the biggest pain right now is exporting PDFs to ship to the printer. Right now, we have to go one page at a time - open the spread, export one page, export the other page, close it and go to the next one. Needless to say, that takes a while.
I can export a PDF from the book file. That part is simple enough. But what I would love is to export from my book file and wind up with a PDF broken up into individual pages, which I could then simply upload to the printer. I know I could export the book PDF, then open the book in Acrobat and break it out a page at a time, but that's nearly as prone to errors as the longer way.
I'm thinking a custom script for Acrobat might do this work for me, but I don't know.
If anyone knows how to make this work, it would save us a ton of time.

    DeMayne wrote:
Where would the loss in quality come into play? You have the opportunity to open the pdf with all inherited settings, including dpi and bit depth. I've experienced much larger file sizes, but never a loss in quality. My experience would come from creating indesign documents where the images in the book are Photoshop psds or smart objects. Your insight will be useful for future projects.
You've made the assumption that all content in the PDF is raster, all the same resolution, and all in the same color space. Most PDF contains both raster and vector content (like type) that is heavily degraded by opening in Photoshop, and you run a severe risk of changing solid black type to a 4-color mix that is very difficult to print, even it it isn't likely to be jaggy due to rasterization.
PDF saved from Photoshop (with preserve editing capabilities enabled) can be reopened in Photoshop without harm, but not PDF from other sources.

  • Filename when exporting from ReportViewerBean

I'm using Crystal Reports for Eclipse 2.0 in a desktop application and ReportViewerBean is used for previewing reports. The export-dialog have several file formats and they all work fine but one annoying thing is that the filename is blank, so one have to write the filename/filextension manually before exporting to file.
Is there a way in the code to specify what filename a report should get when exporting?
    I'm probably missing something here...
I've searched through the forums and code examples but have not found anything about this.
    Thanks in advance
    // Uhlen

To be clear, are you looking to have the Save As field in the export dialog box populated with a report name when you export the report?
When exporting from the viewer it isn't possible to do this, however if you export directly using the SDK, you can set the report name and path to whatever you like and automatically export to that location.

  • WLDL files exported from XI 2.0 not valid for Web Service Clients

    Hi there,
Im struggling for almost a week with a <b>BAPI WSDL file</b> exported from the XI repository. My scenario is very simple; A BAPI in R/3 exposed as web service through XI using the SOAP adapter.
The intention was to generate a Web Service Client based on this WSDL file, unfortunately I get all kind of errors when trying to generate the client. (using tools like, SOAPScope, XML Spy and WebSphere Developer Studio none of this tools can validate the generated WSDL file obtained from XI)
Can someone <b>Please explain</b> me how/what exaclty do I have to do in order to expose my BAPI as Web Service in XI 2.0? Or Please tell me if this is just impossible in this version of XI.
    Thanks a lot!
    Rob.

    Hi Rob,
It seems that when exporting to a WSDL file from the Repository, <service> and <binding> are missing from the structure.
A way to work this out is to either add them maually, or to create the WSDL from the Directory, using the Create End Point as Webservice in the Tools menu.
When you do that, consider a couple of things:
    1. The message interface, by which you create the wsdl should be inbound. The message interface in the scenario should be outbound.
    2. In the binding section, the produced url is of the intergration server, and you need to change it to that defined in the SOAP adapter configuration.
    Hope this helps.

  • MOV exported from Keynote - last slide disappears, audio continues playing

I have a series of three mov files that were created in & exported from Keynote. They are audio & slide shows that are to autoplay on a website. Two of the files function as expected once embedded in the website, one does not; the last slide drops out (displaying a white screen) while the audio continues for approximately 30 seconds until the mov file ends. To add confusion to the issue ALL the files play as expected using Safari (on Win & Mac). Using Firefox on Mac delivers the "broken" results. Using ANY browser on Windows yields the broken result.
Any suggestions from anyone as to what could be causing this? A link to the website I'm talking about is below. The problem file is on index2.html

    Hi,
Since I am trying to do a number of things with Keynote, I read these discussions looking for opportunities and pitfalls.
I read your message, and saw your outcome as an issue. Since I've yet to add the soundtrack to my current project, I needed to know more about the outcome before I proceeded, in order to adjust accordingly.
I took my project, and added a song as the soundtrack. I played the slideshow, and the soundtrack played along, across the slides as it should. I then began to record the slideshow, but the soundtrack came playing through the speakers and was being picked up by the microphones, so I offed the speakers, donned my headphones, and re-began the recording. The soundtrack was playing (in the headphones), and I was narrating across many slides.
I played the recorded slideshow, and all was present - soundtrack and recorded narration.
I exported to Quicktime, sending the output to a new folder so that it could easily be found, along with anything else that might be generated. Upon completion, there was only one movie file in the folder. I opened and played it in Quicktime. It was perfect - slides looked good, narration was there, and the soundtrack was playing in the background.
This outcome appears to be your objective, so I'm not sure what I did differently than you, but from this experience, it works as should be expected.
    Good luck.

  • Memory Limit for "IMPORT/EXPORT from MEMORY ID" statement

    Hi All,
Can anyone tell me whether there is any memory limit exists for "IMPORT/EXPORT from MEMORY ID" statement.
Like may be we can transfer xx MB of data via this......or it is open, we can transfer any amount of data to ABAP memory via this.
    Regards
    Munish Garg

    1. Each user sessions have external sessions and each external sessions have internal sessions.
    2. The programs being executed in the internal sessions can access ABAP memory
3.ABAP memory is a storage area for internal program variables like fields, structures, internal tables,,They can be passed  between internal sessions of an external session.
    4. you can transfer data through ABAp memory using IMPORT and EXPORT statements
    5. after IMPORT FROM MEMORY ID <id> , you can use sy-subrc to check the existance of the cluster ID. here sy-subrc is not used to check whether the Import was successful or not.

  • Images stripped from Camera Data after Export from Lr

    Hi,
I've just opened images in jpg format in Ps. The images were exported from Lr and for some reason all the Camera Data is gone...
I went through all the settings in Ps and Lr and didn't find anything...
    I'm enclosing a screenshot.

Hi, this is a similar to an earlier post and here is my reply:
In the Export Dialog Box, under Metadata, make sure that you checked the box for "Write Keywords as Lightroom Hierarchy", in this way all your keywords will be carried over to Photoshop.   Conversely, if you do not want your keywords or other metadata to show in Photoshop, then check the box for "Minimize Embedded Metadata". I hope this helps.

  • HOW-TO Distinguish between file exported from Datapump and normal export

How to distinguish between the dmp file export from the data pump utility and the export utility in Oracle 10g and 11g .
    Thanks,
    SS

Like Werner suggested, it's never hurt to try anyway.
use imp with SHOW=Y, if it works then Original otherwise Data pump.
Once you determined one file, there's good chance that the rest are same. I don't think previous DBA will go through the trouble by mixing data pump and traditional exp/imp.

  • Export from FCP

I would like to export a file for my friends who are using PC, probably some of them have QT installed, but some may not. Is it somehow possible, maybe through several steps, to reach the format, which will be moderate size and playable in Windows Media Player?
Another question. I'm planning to place a clip on youtube. What format, offered by FCP, can I make use of?
    <Edited by Moderator>

Nick, I'm trying your last suggestion, but encountered a problem.
I already posted a question in QT forum, but there is no answer. May be you could help.
The problem is that my QT player plays incorrectly (stretches horizontally) clips captured or exported from my FCP. Only particular formats, those of 720x480.
With any other dimensions except 720x480 exported file looks correct in QT.
    Why it happens?
So, with your last suggestion, my master file is 720x480, this is the case... Then after QT conversion for the web clip starts to look stretched horizontally. But overall quality of the picture is great!
And also, where should I drag the movie?
So far I press Export button in the "export for web" window.
