Exporting from .fla to .mov causing major gliches, what am I doing wrong?

Here's my problem:
I create video tutorials for work using Flash. I used to use CS3 and recently switched to CS4. I never really had this problem with CS3. The videos I make consist entirely of classic tweens with some images, lots of text, and audio. They basically look like fancy powerpoints. So they are simple. Occasionally for Introductory videos we get slightly fancier, but still use tweens, just more of them. My work posts these videos on their websites and have to be exported to quicktime .mov files and then encoded to .flv. My fellow employees and I can't decide if it's Quicktime or Flash that is the problem (I have both Quicktime 7 and a version of Quicktime 10 I think). The video works perfectly when played as a .swf and in Flash itself. But whenever it's exported the .mov suddenly has horrible glitches throughout, which we can usually iron them out through encoding but not always. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Any suggestions on what might fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, you're not nuts!
Yes, 24-bit PNG is good for all but the really old browsers. The 8-bit PNG is good for when you need a semi-transparent image (see http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2007/09/18/png8-the-clear-winner/).
With any indexed palette that gives you less than 256 colors, you can manually add more, but it's a pain.
Here's a great tip I picked up from this forum.... Since the FW document is a .png it can be easy to overwrite your working document with a flattened version. To keep track of what type of .png file you have, FW or flattened, give your FW documents the "extension" .fw.png (the .fw is really part of the file's name) and your flattened exports the simpler .png.
