Exporting from Lightroom 4 to Photoshop Elements (Both trial version)

I have downloaded both the trial versions of the software and wanted to experience how they interact with each other.
I cant seem to be able to export my file from lightroom to photoshop though
Is this possible with the trial versions?

Trial version should make no difference.
One does not "Export to Photoshop" - Export is for one-way output.
Photoshop, or Elements, or other editor is called in as a partner program via "Edit In..." and the options for this are set up in LR Preferences / External Editing tab.
If Elements is not automatically appearing there, and you don't want to re-install anything in order to resolve that, you can instead manually set that up in the "additional editor" section below. Choose the Elements editor program file, a filetype and colourspace and bitdepth, and name this setup as an external editing preset. This preset then appears in the Edit In.. section of the context menu when you right-click on a photo in LR. A new file is made on disk according to your specifications, in the same folder, reflecting your LR adjustments to date, and Elements is started with this file open for editing. Save and close when finished (not save as). LR now shows a new image version, next to the original you started with, reflecting your external edits. These edits (any layers etc) remain available for further work thereafter via the "edit original" option.
So you can go back and forward as required between the two programs, always remembering that these two KINDS of adjustment / editing, are physically independent.

  • As with others I can't export from Lightroom 4 to Elements 10 or any of the Nik products except HDR

As with others I can't export from Lightroom 4 to Elements 10 or any of the Nik products except HDR Efex pro. Surely this has been fixed? If not it is appalling. It has been going on for too long in a program that has supposed to have some integrity

I am able edit pictures in PSE (Photoshop elements) 10 BUT i am unable to edit videos in PRE (premiere elements) 10. I will uninstall LR 4.1 RC1 and then install RC2 and use a backup of the catalog. Lets see if that works.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 trial version

My photos in photoshop elements 12 trial version can't be reconnected,. How do I delete them?

You can select all thumbnails in All media view (Ctrl+A) and hit delete - but do not choose to also delete from disk.
You can then import from the folders where the images are now located. But you will not see keywords and captions unless you first write metadata to files. If you don't have a large catalog and that is not a concern, go ahead, and start over.
In future don't move files and folders using your operating system otherwise Elements knows nothing about it. Always drag and drop and rename within Organizer to avoid missing files.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 trial version won't install

I have an Mac running iOS v10.9.4 and I currently have Photoshop Elements 10 installed. I'm trying to download the  Photoshop Elements 12 trial version. The Install Adobe Download Assistant has been copied to my Downloads folder. When I try to open the file it stops and gives me the following error message: "The application cannot be installed due to a certificate problem. The certificate does not match the installed application certificate, does not support application upgrades, or is invalid. Please contact the application author." Any suggestions?

  • Exporting from Lightroom to Photoshop and back to Lightroom shows different results in Lightroom than in Photoshop

I has set the color space to ProPhoto RGB in both Lightroom and Photoshop. I have also calibrated my monitor.
But when I export a photo from Lightroom to Photoshop and edit it there before saving it, the photo in Lightroom is very different than what the Photoshop edit shows.
Photoshop is to the left, Lightroom to the right.

Ask in the LR/ PS forums and provide details about your system, your files, your develop settings, other stuff. You need to be much more specific.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Trial Version

Installation was interrupted and could not finish, I think it did not install Photoshop Organizer or something, it instructed me to click on finish button. will it affect the use of Photoshop elements 10? I downloaded on a usb to use on another computer. what do I do?

Run the installer again. If that does not work, uninstall the software from your computer, restart (just to be sure) and then reinstall.
You already have the installer on the usb so it should not take much time.
Let us know if it helps.

I am trying to download the trial version of Photoshop Elements 12.  When I click on "Download" in the below dialog, I get the pop-up "Error 100 error message.  My Internet connection checks out O.K., and I have tried restarting Download Assistant, but no luck.  What do I have to do to download the trial version?

  • Photoshop Elements 11 trial version screen too large to view

I cannot use Photoshop Elements 11 because the screen is too wide and I cannot change the size.
The tools are not visable since the Photoshop Editor brings up such a wide screen.
If this can be fixed, I would also like to know how to change the background color in a photo.
    Thank you,
    Bernice Ross
    [email protected]

The minimum resolution supported by PSE 11 is 1024 *768. So if your screen resolution is higher than this  , then all controls in the application should be properly visible. Even if the screen seems to wide  then hover your mouse on the extreme right side of the app until you see a dragging arrow and then drag until it fits the screen
To your second question the answer is that  there are many ways to change a background in PSE which depends upon what background in  the image you want to replace and what do you want the background to look like. It would be easier to answer this if you can post a  screenshot of the image .

  • I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 trial version today, and I can barely do anything.

I can open files, but I can't color anything or open a new layer. The options are grey and unclickable. I need help. I've tried restarting my computer and everything, but nothing works in Photoshop Elements.

At the top of the PSE window click where it says Expert. Then all menu options will become available.

  • How do I export from Lightroom to Photoshop 2014 using 8-bit color?

In LR when I rt-click in the image area, a menu appears. I choose export and then Photoshop 2014.  I specify "edit with Lightroom adjustments.  When the image appears in Photoshop it indeed as the adjustments, but the color depth is always 32-bit. It's become bothersome to then down adjust the color depth to 8-bit color and I am wondering if there is a hidden export setting that will allow me to export the image as 8-bit.

You can set that in Lightroom preferences see the screen capture.
