Exporting HD to AVI or Mov

Hi there
We have produced a movie in HD (PAL 1440 x 1080 , 25 frame p/s) .. running CS4, all good so far!
We are needing to get it to Eurosport on a digibeta tape, in Standard Definition 720x576.
We have a local guy who can convert from either AVI or MOV (prefers from HD) to the required format for Eurosport..
However we are having issues converting to either AVI or MOV:
1/ CS4 cannot seem to convert to AVI or Mov in HD PAL 1440 x 1080.. first prob
2/ ...so we thought why not just export to AVI Standard Definition 720x576 but find it distorts the graphics, photos and text captions ...   Video and audio is fine
We also tryed exporting as a MPEG2 (1440 x 1080 , 25 frame p/s) and converting to AVI via Streamclip .. created a very large file (which is ok..) but the audio quality was bad, and when playing it seems to skip a frame (not sure if this is just how it plays on my machine...??)
Most likely our settings... but after many hours google searching hasn't quite got us the answer :-)
Welcome any suggestions ..
Thanks ..
Jen

  • Exporting actionscript as avi export movie

    hi all,
i have the following issue: i am creating a digital picture
    only via actionscript, e.g.
    moveTo(171,334)
    lineTo(176,235)
    lineTo(172,225)
    etc
Displaying the swf file via swf player is fine of course but
as I want to display it in a digital photo frame I need to export
it as .avi (as the dig. photo frame can't display .swf format). the
export only creates an empty avi file :(
    Does anyone know a solution?
    - Can I export just actionscript code as avi?
    - Or can I automatically convert actionsript to single frames
    (so to a non-as movie)?
    - Or does anyone know of a digital photo frame that can
    display swf files?
    Thanks for any help!!!

The AVI export doesn't support AS. Try using a third party
tool. Google SWF to AVI and you'll find a couple.
    Good luck!

  • Exporting  to .avi or .mov format

How can I export and iMovie to a .avi or .mov format? For use by others with PC's , etc.

both, avi and mov are no formats, just containers, some say wrappers...
in the share/expert settings dialog, you're offerd with zillions of options...
PC users need to install the latest version of QuicktimeForWindows, free for download at apple.com...
avi is little supported on Mac... old school & wrong side of the street..
think about investing into some plug-ins from www.flip4mac.com …
form a users point of view, I collected some info on a website: CODEXX

  • Back to basics on Exporting to AVI or MOV - HD

    Hello all!
I can't believe I'm asking this because I have exported from Premiere for years.   (But not to MOV and AVI when dealing with HD -- it was always to some compressed format such as FLV or MP4, etc.))
And I asked a similar question just a few days ago.  But now I need to be very specific about this specific project.
I need to export from premiere CS5 to a file I can use in After Effects. CS5
Yes, I've been trying dynamic link -- and have had nothing but problems, so for now, for this project I need to export from premiere to a old fashioned AVI or MOV file and then import into After Effects.
My sequence settings are 1920 x 1080. 29.97 FPS   (FYI My orignal MOV  video file sizes are Image Size: 1920 x 1080
The only AVI and MOV files export options I see will not give me the above sizes, or will give me sizes with black bars above and below.
I don't want to lose quality during the export for many reasons, including I will export out of After Effects back into Premiere when I am finished in After Effects.
    Thanks
    Rowby

OK some screenshot. Dont look at the source as i am on pal and HDV.
This is what you see after selecting Lagarith via the Preset DV AVI
    The Preset turns to Custom
Uncheck the chain or lock or whatever it is called (Maintain aspect ratio while resizing)
    and set every thing manually.

  • Exporting to avi or mov on a Mac

Hello. I'm just learning how to use Captivate on request from a client so this may be a bit of a noobie question. I'm using Captivate 5 on a Mac. All the tutorials I've seen on how to export captured video to .avi format has been for the Windows version of Captivate. When I go to publish the video and navigate to the Media tab, there is no useable video formats available. There's .exe .app .f4v and .f4v with a fixed frame rate. I need these videos exported to cut together in after effects, but without a video option as described in the Windows version of this software, this is making my task impossible. I can't seem to find any help for the Mac version.
If anyone can help with how to export to any sort of video file (avi, mp4, mov, whatever) on the Mac version, I'd really appreciate it!
    Thanks!

These .f4v options are both in fact videos, which you can use in video player / editors directly.
If you want to convert this video to MP4, you can do it with Adobe Media Encoder which is installed free with Captivate 5. Inside the Adobe Media Encoder, you need to select H.264 as the format. The select one of the suitable preset to get MP4 output.

Let us start from the beginning.
It has been established that you have Premiere Elements 10. On what computer operating system is it running?
There has not been a File Menu/Export/Movie export opportunitity in Premiere Elements since version 7. We are not up to version 12.
For Premiere Elements 10, your export opportunities are all in Share/ including one for Computer. Under Computer there are several choices. The ones that you see are Adobe Flash Video, MPEG, and AVCHD. The others you have to scroll down to. And those choices are AVI, Windows Media, QuickTime, Image, and Audio. You do not have to use the scroll bar for this. You can click on Adobe Flash Video panel to get it to turn black. Then use the down arrow to go down the list and the up arrow to go up the list. Once you get to a category, you can select a preset and go with it or customize it under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab of the preset.
If you post the properties of your source media that you want to try to match in the export, I would be glad to suggest the exact settings for you.
We will be watching for your follow up with details.
    Thank you.

Add On...The Premiere Elements 10 File Menu is for more than Saving, just not exporting. One of the key features that can be access there is the Project Archiver. More on that another time.

  • Capturing images from avi or mov in QT

What's out there to capture single images in jpeg format for an avi or mov file that I can play through qt pro ?
    thanks

What's out there to capture single images in jpeg format for an avi or mov file that I can play through qt pro ?
Not sure if you are referring to a single JPEG image (as for a poster image) here or a JPEG image sequence.
In the former case, you can use QT 7 Pro "Movie to Picture" option to export a single frame to a PCT image file (with or without compression) which, if double-clicked will then open in Preview and allowing you to re-save the image in several image formats including JPEG. If you want to go directly to a JPEG image and have the free MPEG Streamclip application installed, use it.
In the latter case, use the QT 7 Pro "Movie to Image Sequence" export option to save a sequence of JPEG images to folder using the "Options" palette set the image frequency.

  • Best Settings for Exporting DVD Footage in a Movie File

    Hello,
I've been trying to find the best settings for exporting DVD footage into a movie file from Adobe Premiere CS6.
I recently have been using my Magnavox DVD recorder for recording VHS tapes that I made long ago for shows and various other things, and no matter what, my footage doesn't come out as it needs to be.
Here's an example of what I did recently with my own settings:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFV4sT7rHGs
I'm not expecting HD footage, I know these are tapes, but I'm playing the raw footage on my Xbox 360, and it looks better than this. I had to directly use the VOB files on the DVD for this, as trying to rip the files into an AVI or any other format with a DVD ripper didn't do anything, in fact it degraded the quality and made the audio not play in Premiere.
So what would be some good settings for exporting a sequence with DVD footage that is from a VHS into a movie file, preferably one that wouldn't degrade the quality?
    Thanks!

First, read Why not edit mpeg http://tangentsoft.net/video/mpeg/edit.html to get a general idea of why a VOB makes a very poor source file (which is a renamed MPG, with some other stuff like menu screens)
Also, Read Bill Hunt on editing a VOB/MPG file http://forums.adobe.com/thread/464549
Once you have a DVD compliant VOB on your timeline, and understanding that a standalone DVD recorder sometimes plays fast-n-loose with "compliance" per the DVD specification, about all you can do is export to standard or widescreen DV AVI and accept the fact that re-encoding an already compressed file is just not going to give great results

  • Exporting QT to AVI - No sound (this ones different)

I created a Flash (CS3) animation that has to be delivered as an AVI or WMV. I managed to export it as a Quicktime mov( looks good, has sound) - purchased Quicktime Pro and exported it to an avi file. Looks great - no sound. Checked the forums - installed Perian - still no sound.
I have fixed permissions and restarted - still no sound.
    Questions:
    1) Is the sound "in" my AVI file but doesn't play with Quicktime. Is this what Perian is supposd to do or does Perian enable Quicktime to export the sound in the AVI file?
    2) Is Perian some kind of plug in? All I have in amy app folder is an app called Perian.prefPane.
    Thanks

I actually used the export to Quicktime command in Flash (CS3) to get the QT file, although I don't think that makes a diference.
I know might be crossing into Flash territory here, but Flash CS3 doesn't give me an option to either publish or export as a FLV. I think (could be wrong) that FLV might be a PC only format like avi (Flash will only publish to avi in windows- which started this whole thing).
I had no idea how involved this whole thing was (converting from Flash to avi). My solution : I found someone with FlashCS2 on a PC and I'm giving them my original file (Fla) and having them save it as an avi.
    Thank you for your efforts.

  • No option to export as HD Avi

Apologies if I've missed something obvious, either in the programme itself or on this forum, but I just can't seem to work this out.
I am trying to export my movie as a high def avi file.  It exports beautifully to a DVD but I can't see any default presets to export to an avi in high def.  I have the following options:
DV NTSC standard (no good as I want PAL)
DVD NTSC widescreen (no good as I want PAL)
    DVD PAL standard (not widescreen)
DVD PAL widescreen (video size doesn't seem changeable and is only 720x576 i.e. not full HD)
Microsoft AVI (seems to be NTSC)
Uncompressed Microsoft AVI (also seems to be NTSC)
xVid (this seems more changeable than the others i.e. I can change the resolution to 1920x1080, but it crashes everytime)
    Any help really appreciated.
I am using Pre9 on a Windows 7 PC.  Footage is shot on a Panasonic HDC-SD60 in AVCHD format, imported using Panasonic's HD Writer software.  Pre Project settings are Full HD 1080i 25.
    Thank you very much.
    Peter.

Thanks Steve - very helpful and much appreciated.
I am trying to stream the final file to my television over DLNA.
The TV accepts a number of formats, including those as follows:
    .avi (Divx3.11/4.x/5.1/6.0) 1920x1080
    .avi (XviD) 1920x1080
    .avi (H.264 BP/MP/HP) 1920x1080
    .avi (MPEG4 SP/ASP) 1920x1080
    .mpg (MPEG1) 1920x1080
    .mpg (MPEG2) 1920x1080
    .mpg (H.264) 1920x1080
    .mp4 (H.264 BP/MP/HP) 1920x1080
    .mp4 (MPEG4 SP/ASP) 1920x1080
    .mp4 (XVID) 1920x1080
Plus an array of other formats for .mkv, .asf, .wmv, .3gp, .vro, .ts, .tp, .trp
Whilst I could encode at 1920x1080, my Wi-Fi struggles a bit with this, so I will probably take it down to 1280x720.
    Any suggestions much appreciated.,
Will certainly take a look at your book.  I bought the "Classroom In A Book" by Adobe when I got the software and am amazed at how little detail is in it.
    Thanks again
    Peter.

  • Artifacts in Using Save As for AVI to MOV Conversion?

When I SAVE AS a compressed avi file to mov, I am seeing artifacts (they look like interlacing errors) in the final mov file, vs the same frames in the .avi file.  Can I avoid this somehow?  The avi file was compressed with the BlackMagic Intensity code (I think it's motion jpg too).
The file sizes are the same.
Bummer, I bought Quicktime Pro just for this.  Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    w

Can anyone here tell me why two duplicate laptops treat the avi-to-mov conversion so differently and why I must export at 480p?
As to QT playback, either the codec component configuration is different on each system or the the AVI file contains a legacy video codec that is turned on for system "A" but left off for system "B" but which is included in the Perian bundle installed on system "B." With reguard to the forced conversion rather than a simple "Save As..." action, please confirm the video codec name given in the "Inspector" window for each system. I suspect that either the video codec is different on each system or that the Perian version of the same codec with a different name may be forcing the "Export" conversion.

  • Convert AVI to .MOV

I am trying to convert an AVI to .Mov on my mac. How do I do that for for free or cheap?
I have Quicktime Pro, Final Cut, etc...but need the tool to do the conversion to .MOV.

I installed again, and it did not work.
    ( BTW - I made a donation via PayPal to Perian )
I restarted again (after installation) and it does now OPEN the .avi movie I have, but it does not PLAY the movie. Only garbage appears in the QT Player window. No sound either.
    For the movie, Properties says:

  • How can i export a 24bit avi file from photoshop for mac?

how can i export a 24bit avi file from photoshop for mac? i have a client that specificly needs the files to be avi and in 24bit what are the settings that i need to use to export the video using photoshop on a mac?

    Hello,
To make a 24-bit AVI file in Photoshop, go to File>Export>Render Video. Then, under File Options, choose AVI from the Quicktime Export drop-down menu. Click the Settings button. Click the Settings button in the AVI Settings window. Change Compression to None, and then choose "Millions of Colors" from the Depth drop-down under Compression.
The Millions of Colors option is for 24-bit video (8-bit R+G+B channels, 8x3=24). Millions of Colors+ is for 32-bit video (24-bit video plus an 8-bit alpha channel).

  • You cannot export the request at the movement -while releasing the request

    Hi.. Experts
Today, we had message from our functional consultant that When he is trying to release the TRANSPORT REQUEST (not tasks) he is getting the error  " You cannot export the request at the movement "
After 2 / 3 hours, we discovered file exists in Transport Profiel directory
    " /usr/sap/trans/bin" directory Fine Name :   T_OFF.ALL
After removing that file - The request releasing were happening normally.
In this juncture, Even though the issue is fixed ,
We would like to learn how this file got created  and which transactions / which configurations will create this T_OFF.ALL file and stops all Transport releases
    Thanks in advance
    Rgds
    PR

This file T_OFF.ALL has to be created manually in the bin directory to basically stop release of any transport request from all systems. No transaction creates it .
Please go through the links to get more info on this mechanism.
    [is there something like NOIMPORT.<SID> but with exception list;
