Exporting image buttons

Hi,
I'm working on a Captivate project that I haven't created myself and I'm trying to extract the images used for some buttons. Is there some way to do that? I can't see the images in the library, so where are they?
The reason for all this is because when I copy the buttons in another Captivate project it works fine, but a copy of the button from the new project (so basically a copy of the copy) doesn't... and that puzzles me greatly. It might sound silly to want to do that... long story short, I need to give the buttons made by some service provider to the other without sending them the whole file.
Any ideas? I'm using Captivate 5.5 by the way.

Image buttons are stored in the Captivate install folder under Gallery > Buttons.
If the buttons you're referring to are not standard Captivate buttons but were custom made by the original developer then he/she may be the only one that has them on their system.
After you add these image buttons to a project they are stored internally and cannot be 'extracted' per se, though you can usually copy buttons from one project to another if you have them both open.  As you've found, once you move beyond a certain point, the copy/pasted process seems to break down.
If you can get in touch with the original developer, they may be able to provide you with the original button images.  That would be your best solution.

  • Image button disappears in pdf output

    I have converted an image into a clickable button in Indesign, but the image button disappears in the pdf output.
    I also noticed that while I was creating the button and in the Button and Foam menu the "appearance" eye icon is greyed out.
    Can anybody help? Thanks!

    It looks like you used InDesign CS6 (because you called it the Button and Form panel).
    It's OK that the appearance eye icon was grayed out. Here's how it should look:
    When you export, did you choose File > Export > PDF (Interactive)?

  • Better control of the placement of the copyright notice in exported image

    When exporting from Lightroom and enabling the copyright overlay, the placement of the copyright notice depends on the original orientation of the camera, making it possible to end up in the top right of the image. I would like it to always end up in the same corner of the actual exported image. Also, some control over the font and color would be nice!

    Is sort of annoying. Not sure if it can be changed. I known when I download movies and put them in iTunes it tries to sync and I wait for it to try and I click the little X in the status window to stop it. Reason being, I want to first add the Artwork and set some other tags. Then I go hit the manual sync button.
    I agree it is a bit of a pain.

  • "Save image" button of Camera Raw does not save JPEG with modifications made.

    I am using Bridge CC to process my RAW images and make modifications to some JPEG images as well.  I have no need to further alter images in Photoshop at the moment, so I do all modifications in Camera Raw. After altering my images, I then press the "save image" button at the left bottom corner of Camera Raw and choose the settings to save in JPEG.  However, when I upload these JPEG images to a website or when I email them, the image is uploaded without the modifications I had done!  It seems to me that Camera Raw is saving JPEGs the same way it does for RAW images, in a non-destructive manner, only attaching instructions for the images to be displayed properly on Photoshop. But when I save an image in JPEG, I expect the image to be saved entirely with the modifications I made while still keeping the original RAW file.  What goes on then?  What is Camera Raw doing and how do I get to save a modified image in JPEG with Camera Raw?  Would you please explain?
    Many thanks for your help,
    Beza

    Hi,
    What version of camera raw and operating system are you using?

    I used to be able to export images to a selected folder on my hard-drive without having to identify the folder for every image.
    Now when I export I need to select the folder on my hard-drive for each image even thought I'm going to process 50+ images for that folder.
    What is wrong & how can i fix it?

    I just tried it again and it seems to be working....

  • RE: [iPlanet-JATO] image button handling

    Hi Todd,
    from what I have seen so far on the Project they are just buttons on
    the page.
    In the interim, I modified RequestHandlingViewBase.acceptsRequest() to
    handle the matching of parameter and command child names.
    from
    if (request.getParameter(commands)!=null)
    return getCommandChildNames()[i];
    to
    if (request.getParameter(commands[i])!=null ||
    (request.getParameter(commands[i]+ ".x")!=null ))
    return getCommandChildNames()[i];
    This fixed the problem with the image buttons in our cases.

    Hi Kostas--
    I wanted to get some feedback on the known issue of the
    handleXXXXRequest method not being fired for buttons which have
    images, due to the the browser submitting
    the pixel coordinates back to the server like this:
    Page1.ImageButton1.x=...
    Page1.ImageButton1.y=...
    As the ND conversion project we are currently working on heavily uses
    image buttons we would like to get and indication if and when a patch
    is planned for this.
    Our current work around is to remove the src attribute from the JATO
    tags in the JSPs.We are currently working on getting this fixed. One question--what is
    the
    relative type of usage of image buttons in your project? Are they just
    buttons on the page (view bean), or do they appear in tiled views as
    well?

    OK, here's what I'm trying to do: We have, like you said, a menu
    page. The pages that it goes to and the number of links are all
    variable and read from the database. In NetD we were able to create
    URLs in the form
    pgXYZ?SPIDERSESSION=abcd
    so this is what I'm trying to replicate here. So the URL that works
    is
    pgContactUs?GXHC_GX_jst=fc7b7e61662d6164&GXHC_gx_session_id_=cc9c6dfa5
    601afa7
    which I interpreted to be the equivalent of the old Netd way. Our
    javascript also loads other frames of the page in the same manner.
    And I believe the URL-rewritten frame sources of a frameset look like
    this too.
    This all worked except for the timeout problem. In theory we could
    rewrite all URLs to go to a handler, but that would be...
    inconvenient.

  • Exporting Images and Clipping Paths

    I ran into a problem exporting images the was previously reported by Ruvan Fernando on Jan 25, 2006, but nobody had responded, so I'm trying again...
    I'm using the SDK to open images and then save them back out with different colorspaces, resolution, etc. When I have an image that has a clipping path in it, when it's saved, the clipping path is missing.
    I am copying all the source image attributes to the destination image attributes.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I tried dragging it, and it gave the original version.
    At Share there are; Print, Email, Desktop, HomePage, .Mac Slides, Order prints, Send to iDVD, Burn Disk, Export
    I tried Desktop and it put the current image do my wallpaper.

  • Help with exporting images

    HI
    I have recently shot a wedding with two bodies.  Forgot to sync the bodies before hand and so left with images at massively different times.  in lightroom i then changed to view by capture time and amended all the wrongly timed images.  i am then left with all images in order and looking as i want.  I then put them in a catalogue and a collection to be on the safe side and exported both.  Whatever i do i see the exported images in my pictures in the same order they were in before i changed the capture time.  i have tried to research this until im sick of it.  I just cant figure out what is going wrong.  Just tried to save to dvd instead and saved but again in the order pre correction?  please help

    Hi did that this morning .  I'm viewing in the exported named file in a
    folder on the mac ... I've tried re naming , sort by capture time but the
    minute I export , the exported file looks just the same as before I made
    the capute time amendments .

    Scan buttons are displayed and work, as does print.

    What installing the twain plug-in, you mean? Go to your applications folder. Find the Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 folder. Look in there for a folder called support files, then for a folder called optional plugins. In the Optional Plugins folder, there should be a folder called ImportModules. Just drag that from the Optional Plugins folder to the regular Plugins folder.
    This will be infinitely easier to do if you put your applications folder window into list view, not the default icon view. To do that, click this button at the top of the window:

  • Export images to a directory structure based on a collection tree?

    A question:
    Will lightroom have the capability to export images to a directory structure which mirrors a collections logical structure?
    The reason I ask this is that when I create websites using third party tools (eg, Jalbum) I typically generate a flash or HTML based site with an menu structure for navigating the images.
    So, the image interface is not simply a "flat-file" display as per the templates in Lightroom beta.
    To do this, with previous image management tools (eg, iMatch) I create a hierarchy of images based on the categories (or collections) that the images are assigned to, export the images in a folder tree reflecting their categories (or collection), then use, say, Jalbum, to generate the website with the menu tree reflecting the folders/images.
    This is extremely useful for more complicated image websites with categories and a large no of images.
    If this function was built into Lightroom I guess it would be in the export function such that the "write to folder" box could take an argument {collection name} which would create a folder tree reflecting the collections logical tree which is being exported.
    Apologies if this topic has been raised previously. But this function is extremely useful if you are using third party html tools or simply building websites by hand.

    I started simmilar thread in Lightroom Feature Requests few months ago, but can't find it anymore since new forum version...
    What I can suggest as a new feature is export to directory structure from collections or second option from keywords. Probably more usable and easier to implement would be from collections.
    What I need it to export many photos to different directories pretty often, and this would be great help since I could arrange them in collections and collection sets. Then select collection set and export it in a manner that collection set would be main export directory, and each collection within the set would be exported to its own folder within main collection set export folder.
    This would be much appreciated feature in near future
    Thank you for great product by the way

    I am using Lightroom 5.7, 64 bit with Windows 7 Professional. For no apparent reason, I now get an error message when I export a photo, say a raw image to a JPG. However, the exported image seems to be OK. But now I notice that my LR directory of folders in Library view does not show images correctly: If there is a folder with sub-folder(s), the folder will indicate 0 images, but the sub-folders show the proper number of images. What happened and is there a fix? I tried uninstalling Lightroom and re-installing, but problem persists.

    I do not think that I am completely focused into this completely, so let us see if the following is going to help.
    You are going to need a base for your button. When you mention "image" button, I am assuming that you are using that term to differentiate between a text button and a thumbnail type button.
    The menus (main and scene) take their origin in .psd files on the hard drive and strict nomenclature and structure for Layers Palatte. And, the buttons on the menus trace back to the menu markers on the Timeline, main menu marker and order of placement of scene markers. The scene thumbnail will only appear when there is a scene marker on the Timeline to which it.
    In view of all that
    Where have you already inserted this "image (button)"...into the Layers Palette of a Photoshop document or other? Is this "image (button)" in a structured Layer Group in the Layers Palette with sublayer groups, text layers, graphic/background layer"?
    Let me give you an example
    If you have a button (with thumbnail) on the main menu and you want that to open to a specific scene in your movie, then you use a main menu marker on the Timeline at the spot that you want that button to target.
    If I am getting closer to what you seek, then please further clarify the DVD navigational envisioned scheme.
    Thanks.
