Exporting image maps, no option to save HTML

Hi All,
I'm trying to export an image map from Illustrator CS6. However I can't get it to save the HTML.
I've setup my hotspots etc. However when I do "Save for Web", there is no option to save "Images & HTML". It only gives me the option of "Image Only".
The only way I've been able to get the HTML is to click on "Preview" from the "Save for Web" screen, and then copy and paste the image map code from there.
I've also tested it with slices, and same thing. There just seems to be no way to get it to generate a HTML file.
Am I missing something? Is there some other way I'm supposed to get it to create the HTML?
Thanks,
Eugene

That's weird that they would simply remove the output option, but still allow URL's to be linked to an object.
Anyway thanks for the response. I've just done some hunting around in Fireworks and figured out how to link hotspots to the Illustrator objects, and output the HTML image map. Problem sorted

    Hello,
    I am using Dreamweaver 8 and was wondering if there is a way
    to export an image map coordinates only with the part number
    associated (link#)? I have a program that needs to be able to
    import coordinates without the html?
    Thanks JR

    That's slightly different syntax, the followinf should match
    that and strip
    the #NOV
    Find:
    <area shape="rect" coords="([\d,]+)" href="#[A-Z]{3}(\d+)"
    />\s*
    Replace:
    $1,$2

  • HTML image mapping not working only on Firefox browser

    On my website I have some images, which show fine, however the image mapping which is coded using html does not work (i.e. when you click on a certain area in the picture and it takes you to another page). This is working fine for IE, safari and chrome.

  • Never want to save HTML

    Using CS4. When I save an image I sometimes get the save "HTML and IMAGE" option. I only use FW for image work, never HTML. Is there a place I can permanently turn this irritating feature off?

    There's no way to turn it off. You can save the settings of your last export in the Image Preview panel (File > Image Preview) however, and apply that each time.

  • Image Map examples?

    HI,
    I have been asked to create a reporting application that drills down via image maps (map of: world => region => country).
    Not sure how to do this in HTML DB and I can't find any samples/examples.
    Does anyone have some experience with this and can point me in the right direction?

  • How to export an image map as polygons?

    Hoping someone can help with this as im having no luck with google.
    I have a shape and in the attributes i have set the image map as polygon and put in a url
    I export this in jpg format and it generates a jpg and html file. however, the HTML file is only showing rectangle.
    <area shape="rect" coords="70,85,278,282" href="http://www.example.com">
    I would have expected this choosing rectangle for the image map.
    I am trying to export polygon coordinates.
    Does any one know why this is not working and what i have missed?
    Thanks in Advance

    This was posted before and I tried it myself but when I exported the polygon shape image map it exported properly.
    In the attributes you must choose polygon as the option it is not good enough just to have the shape a polygon.
    Perhaps the problem might be connected to the document color space was the document the default CMYK or was it a we document from the start?
    But what I always do is make a slice of the art or the artboard and save for the web as a jpeg and include the html.
    You can check it out here http://mysite.verizon.net/wzphoto/Polygon.html
    Here are the screen shots of what I did

  • Can Acrobat XI convert an HTML file that contains an image map?

    An HTML page I have has a complex image map with many links. It works fine in HTML but in converting it to PDF in Acrobat 11, only the top row of links in the map work. Clicking vertically below one of these links activate the link at the top but not the intended one.

  • Does anyone know how to save / preserve image maps when updating graphics?

    Hello all,
    I'm currently working on a RH7 HTML project, which I've designed to be used in support of a software application.
    Some of the application's dialogue boxes have quite complex multi-tabbed GUIs, so when it comes to describing their functionality, you often end up with a long list below the graphic image. What this means of course, is that the user is forever scrolling up and down to make reference between the GUI and the explanatory text.
    I hit upon an idea I'd used previously, whereby I created popups to multiple image map hotspots. It works like a dream and the client and users really like the concept - but there's a snag (apparently).
    Because the application is still in development. some of those GUIs are (and will continue to) change. No problem with that either - until I try and insert the updated graphic. Poof !! All my hotspots disappear . . .
    Surely I'm not alone in trying this approach and there must be some way of preserving the hotspots?
    Any suggestions?
    Bob (in a UK time zone)

    Hi there
    It sounds like you are using the standard methods of inserting an image. Don't do that!
    All you need to do in these cases is to use Windows Explorer to save the updated image using the same file name and replacing the former image. When you do this your other data will remain intact. If the new image is a different size, just right-click it inside the RoboHelp HTML editor and choose Reset Size. You also may need to tweak your hotspots if things shifted some.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Keep exported image size in HTML as shown in PDF

    I have many inline formulas (imported from Word file via using mathtype) in PDF article made by ID. But when I export the articles as HTML, the images for formulas become much larger than shown in PDF version. How can i keep the exported images to the same size as they are shown the PDF file? I know I can edit the html file to specify image size, but that is the ideal work flow.
    Thank you.

    Hi Eric,
    If i'm getting you right. you have the formulas placed as the images.
    So, to keep the size fixed, In HTML export Options in image tab keep the image size as fixed.
    Snapshot to refer:
    Now you have image of same size as it appears in InDesign.

  • Does WDA support HTML Image Maps?

    How to implement HTML image maps in Web Dynpro for ABAP?
    Is the usemap (and related area shapes) available?
    What I mean is explained by the following example:
    <body>
    <img src="trees.gif" usemap="#green" border="0">
    <map name="green">
    <area shape="polygon" coords="19,44,45,11,87,37,82,76,49,98" href="http://www.trees.com/save.html">
    <area shape="rect" coords="128,132,241,179" href="http://www.trees.com/furniture.html">
    <area shape="circle" coords="68,211,35" href="http://www.trees.com/plantations.html">
    </map>
    </body>
    Thanks

    Use IFrame UI element (if exists - hope yes) and link to it an HTML file with only your image-map.
    If the image-map change by user, you must find the way to create the HTML in a dynamic way.
    Sorry i haven't alot experience with ABAP, i did this in Java Web Dynpro but i guess you can do also with ABAP.

  • How to save HTML file with images present in the server to local machine

    Hi all
    In my application i have a option for the user to save HTML files with images present in the server. The HTML file is getting saved but the images are not being saved.
    The code i am using is below :-
    l
                        File fname = new File(filePath);
                        if(!fname.exists())                return;
                        FileInputStream istr = null;
                        OutputStream ostr = null;
                        response.setContentType("application/"+format);
                        response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=\"" + fname.getName() + "\";");
                        try {
                             istr = new FileInputStream(fname);
                             ostr = response.getOutputStream();
                             int curByte=-1;
                             while( (curByte=istr.read()) !=-1)
                                  ostr.write(curByte);
                             ostr.flush();
    Can anyone suggest what i need to do
    regards

    The client should probably parse the html that comes down, and look for <img> links, and request those of the server as well.

  • IR export options and embedded HTML

    Good day,
    Apex 3.2.1.00.12, 9.2.0.8 DB, on AIX 5.3.
    I have an IR where in I use html in the SQL that defines it to format certain columns such as the below
    "<div style=""overflow:auto;height:50px;"">column value here</div>"I then define the display type as ' Standard Report Column '.
    That obviously allows me to have some "formatting" power that the IR does not give by default.
    Problem is when I do the export to a CSV I get the html markup included as the value of the column.
    Is there a way I can keep my formatting desires and export without the html included in the value ?
    Also, can I export the whole result set to CSV, not just whatever I have pagination set to ?
    I do NOT have a print server.
    Thanks for your time,
    CLG

    What export option you used.
    I am using default export option and it exports all the records on report. Not current page.
    Furthermore for your requirment I ahve done lot of test regaring same thing. But I didnt find any solution. So what I did was create my own export function for those reports and then use that.
    Thanks

    16bit? Pixels extending beyond the canvas? (from a crop with delete unused pixels turn off).  Have you previously been saving PSD files?
    IME you sometimes have to tell Photoshop that the first save of a session is JPG, and it remembers from there on.  The way to 'tell' Photoshop that JPG, or PDF, or PNG etc are now your preferred format is to Ctrl (Cmd) click on that format in the Save As drop down list.  So long as the file does not have parameters that your chosen format does not support, then this should work for you.
    [EDIT]  Just noticed that you did include 'Crop' in the subject line.  Do you have 'Delete cropped pixels' checked?
