Exporting images withOUT rollover frames?

Small pet peeve that I'm hoping is fixed by some preference
setting...whenever I do a layout for export, I usually have a
handful of
images that will have rollovers, and a whole bunch that
won't.
However, when I export, ALL the images end up with
rollover/_f2
images...even those that aren't explicitely set with a
behavior. Is there a
way to turn that option off?
-Darrel

Thanks, Jim. I find this a silly 'bug', but I suppose the
best workaround is
to just keep my rollover menus in a separate file.

  • Colour Profiles on exported images causing major problems

I've been exporting keynote slides as png's to use in video presentations. The problem is that the png's are saved with colour profiles, which means if I export the images from diferent macs, or even the same mac but with a different monitor attached (therefore a diferent monitor colour profile active), the images have very noticeable colour variations.
This is a major problem. I exported 1,000 slide transitions to import into Adobe Premiere, then about 500 slide updates that when imported, were in some cases darker or lighter even though I was using the same keynote and original images. I had to create a batch job in Photoshop to open, ignore the stored profile and save the images using a new default colour profile to try and get all the images consistent.
There needs to be an option in either the Keynote preferences or export options to save exported images without colour profiles.

No, there needs to be documentation on the ICC architecture and how ICC profiles are applied. Stripping out embedded ICC profiles will colour manage the objects (images) in the system, but when the images pass outside the system they will not be colour managed any more. In this scenario, either they will have to be rendered as deviceColor by the numbers, without a definition of the colours their colourants should form, or a source ICC profile will have to be assigned by the following system/application.

I could be considered an unconditional bug in Keynote if it embedded the current monitor profile and not the system RGB colour working space profile (: Generic RGB Profile). If indeed Keynote embeds the current monitor profile, it could be considered an unconditional bug in your understanding if you start by stripping the source profiles. You should be doing a profile to profile conversion in order to get into the RGB colour working space you want in Photoshop.
Sorry, but it helps to have a basic understanding of media independent colour matching (even if the developers don't sometimes -:)).

  • Acquire and save images at high frame rates

I am attempting to acquire and save images at a rate of 3000 fps for approximately 100 ms using a JAI 6740GE GigE camera, LabView 2011, and IMAQdx.  I can acquire the images at the necessary rates, but am dropping images when I try to save them.  The current test program I am working with contains a producer loop for acquiring the images, converting them into an array, and putting them into a queue, and a consumer loop to write the arrays to a TDMS file.  Currently I can acquire and save the images at a rate of approximately 1200 fps before I begin losing a few frames.  The code is attached below.  I would appreciate any ideas to be able to save the images without dropping frames.

    Hi Rox,
How are you verifying that you are loosing the frames during the saving and not during the acquisition? Are you able to determine where you are dropping frames? Is it at the beginning, the end or randomly? Thank you!

  • Grab images using IMAQ without sending frame request

    Hello,
When a camera is externally triggered, is it possible to design a *.vi that makes use of IMAQ and grabs images via Camera Link frame grabber without sending frame request signals AND without knowing the external trigger? Just to grab images whenever FVAL, LVAL and DVAL go high. Possible?
    Thanks.

    Greetings, kcin;
Just to check whether I understood or not, to have the Framegrabber acquire images when the FVAL, LVAL and DVAL lines go high with no other communication between the camera and the host computer? What exactly is the purpose of this endeavor?
Initially, I do not believe it would be possible while using our IMAQ Driver simply due to the way it is designed; I will look into the matter further and inform you of my findings.

  • Resizing images without export

    Hi all,
I would like to create a folder that contains re-sized versions of my master images. The folder will be photos that I am posting to my web site and I want to be able to control their size and keep this resized image in my aperture library. I am uploading them through the site host's uploader (squarespace) using finder, not exporting through aperture. Is there a way to create duplicate, resized versions of the images without exporting and re-importing the photos?
I know that aperture isn't photo editing software, but i expected that it would be able to do basic things (mirror, resize, etc) and am constantly disappointed. I could round-trip to photoshop, but I hope there's an easier solution.
    Thanks,
    John

First question - why do you need the JPEGs? If it's to upload them to a site via FTP there are export plug-ins to do this directly from within Aperture.
Using the media browser isn't going to help you at all because that will be accessing Previews in Adobe98 profile - not something you should be putting up on a website.
I also came across this problem when I wanted to convert a large number of raw files to jpegs and keep the new jpegs in my library. At the time I was running low on disk space and didn't need the raws anymore, but had to go through the process of exporting and re-importing for a bunch of projects.
Sorry, but that's a bit too alien an idea for me - I never threw away negatives back when I was using film, why would you throw away RAW files now?
Another pet peeve I have is that there is no status indicator when exporting (2 minutes left, 25% done, etc....anything besides a beachball), so I don't know how long the export will take, and on my 2006 macbook it sometimes takes a while.
At the bottom of the Browser pane on the left you will see a progress 'swirl' when exporting, importing or generating Previews. Click on it to bring up the activity window with progress bars for all current actions. You can also access it through Window>Show Activity.

  • Exporting Images to a folder on the hard drive

I used to be able to export images to a selected folder on my hard-drive without having to identify the folder for every image.
Now when I export I need to select the folder on my hard-drive for each image even thought I'm going to process 50+ images for that folder.

  • How to export video without modification

So it appears that the new iPhoto 9.5 modifies video files when exporting, even when you choose "original." I like to backup my original files without any modification. Images don't seem to be modified, but videos are; the timestamp changes and the size is smaller. Has anyone figured out an easy way to export/backup without modifying the original video files?
I've tried going into the iPhoto library and just backing up manually from there, but Apple has once again modified the file structure of the library so it's hard to figure out if you're getting all the files, or even what date you're getting. It seems to separate it by month and date of import, but not the date the actual image/video was taken.
I liked the old version where you just select a range of images/videos in iPhoto and export the originals to a backup drive without any modification.
Here's a screenshot of how it organizes the files in the library. Kind of a mess.

With past versions, when you exported as "original," it wasn't actually exporting a new file; it was copying the original file to a new location. So you were getting a bit-for-bit copy of the original. It appears to still do that with images—the copied file has the same datestamp and size as the original. By "datestamp" I mean the date you see on the file in Finder, not the embedded Exif info.
But with videos, the new version is modifying the original, making it a smaller file size, and changing the file's datestamp. If I choose "original," I should be getting a direct copy of the original, but I'm not. Instead I'm getting a modified version of it. And given the filesize change, I'm assuming it's a compressed version.
I know direct access to the library isn't supported. It's the Apple way to keep stuff like that hidden. But in the past, if I wanted to, I could view package contents and get to files I needed much more easily than the new version allows.
I'm just trying to find an easy way to back up the original video file, not a modified version of it.

  • Trying to link a thumbnail in one frame to a larger image in another frame GOLIVE 9...

    Hi.
I am using Adobe Golive 9.
I found a tutorial on the internet that allows you to create an image gallery with clickable thumbnails
    http://www.tutorialhero.com/click-48179-create_an_image_gallery_with_clickable_thumbnails. php
However, the tutorial is designed for a page without frames.
I want to be able to do this using frames.
I want to link a thumbnail on a page in one frame to a larger image on another page, so that when your mouse is over the thumbnail,
the larger version appears in the other frame.
This is what my frames look like so you get an idea of what I'm trying to do
And here is a picture of the thumbnail in the lower frame and the larger image in the frame above it.
Could someone please give me STEP BY STEP instructions on how to do this?  I'm new to Golive, using version GOLIVE 9, and I know this can be accomplished using "Set Image URL"  but have no idea how to do it.
Thank you for your help all.
    Chris.

A link in one frame is designed to call another page into some other frame, not an image. You can't use SetImageUrl across different pages. You'd probably have to put each of your large images on a page, and call each page each time. I'm not sure why you're so set on using frames, they have many disadvantages.

  • Convert image file names to labels and resizing images according to frame. Possible??

    Hi all,
I have posted this question hastily in the main mac forum but then i realized it is a scripting question so I repost here.
Q1: I have a client with 700+ images who has named the images with numbers and the caption:
eg: 1.II.34. Walking down the road towards the building.tiff
This is the name of the image file itself
Is there a way to import the name of the file (possibly without the extension) and place it as a caption under the image without copying and pasting? A script maybe?
I tried the labelgraphics script. Unfortunately it returned the extension as well. I was given a solution but did not work for me since it deleted everything after the first dot on the name. This was:
in labelgraphics on line 105, change
    myLabel = myLink.name
    to
    myLabel = myLink.name.split('.')[0]
So how can we tackle this so it deletes everything after the LAST dot?
Q2: The image files I am given are all huge tiff files. I use the full 100% of the images but in my document they have to be much smaller . They are usually scaled down to 25-35% of the original file. So I end up with huge, unneeded documents.
Is there a script that would work together with photoshop maybe?
It would need to read the frames dimensions the image is in, open the linked file inside photoshop, resize it with a specified interpolation to maybe 110% of the frame's dimensions, set the resolution (if not set) to 300 dpi save the image as a copy (or with a suffix or prefix), leave photoshop open (for the next image to be processed), relink to the new image and go to the next image
I know it sounds a lot but I was amazed by the issues people handle in this forum and thought I would give it a try
    Thank you in advance
    Michael

Peter thank you so much. It works like a charm.
As for Q2, I spent some time doing research and came up with a couple of scripts that sound like they could do the trick.
    a) Image Transform or Rasterize
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1509 022#
    b) Resample Project Images to 100%
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1612 518#
Still, since I am such an ignorant I do not know which one would be the proper one.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    Thank you once more
    Michael

  • Workflow problems: Import selection, 9 keywords in list?, Exporting image attributes...

I have a few problems incorporating Lightroom into my work flow.
    Is there a way to:
Select recursive directories when importing photos from disk without
a copy. Currently, I can only choose files directory(folder) by
    directory.
Get more than 9 keywords in a shortcut list.
Add photos from a previously accessed CF card to a catalog in a short
    time.
Currently it takes about the same time as loading a card from scratch.
Export image attributes to text file
    (filename followed by keywords, rating...)
Basic principles of my work flow:
    1. Flash card is used until contents roughly matches the archive media
    size.
This means a 1GB card fills to 700MB after deleting rejects, and
a 4GB card will easily fit on a DVD.
    2. Photos on card are categorized and rated/rejected/deleted one or more
more times while the card is being filled. This results in:
-Copies of retained images to the categorized directory structure on the
    computer.
-Rejects deleted from card, and not appearing on the computer
-Category, and rating information for each image in an easily parsed
    list.
    3. Post processing is done and printing is done on highest rated images
    in each category.
    For example:
Day 1: start with a blank 4GB CF card, and shoot 1.5GB for customers A and
    B.
    Customer A has 8 subjects a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h; Customer B has 12
    subjects
a,g,i,j,k,l,m,n,o,p,q,r. Note that some names for customers A and B
are the same. That night, I delete rejects off the card down to
    800MB,
and copy the saved images to the directory structure corresponding
to each customer on the computer. Then a list is printed out to show
an image+rating list for each subject. Notes are made for each
    "weak"
subject, so I know who to focus on in the next day of shooting.
Note I may have needed to do some minor post processing to determine
    rejects and rating.
    Day 2: I shoot 9 subjects for customer A: a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,s, and 12
subjects for customer C: j,m,q,t,u,v,w,x,y,z,aa,bb. Similar culling,
sorting, and copying is done to Day 1.
Day N: CF card is full, so contents is written to a DVD, then card is
    erased.
Day M: Sufficient counts of good images are obtained for Customer A, so
Final post processing is done, and prints are made.
My initial experimenting with Lightroom shows it has potential to streamline
the above work flow, but a few key hurdles have kept me from implementing
it. I have made some assumptions about the tool in the following description,
so the best help for me would first to point out what assumptions are incorrect
It looks like "import from device..." only allows a copy from the CF card.
A copy would mean once images were rejected in the catalog, it would be
out of sync. with the CF card. So "import photos from disk..." looks
to be the only way to accomplish principle 1 above. *[minor problem a]* I saw
no way to import the information from the CF cart recursively in this
mode. I had to choose the files in groups one directory (folder) at
a time. When I imported from device, I could grab the whole CF card,
even though it did a copy. Note another reason I can't copy the CF card
to the catalog is that the reject/delete operation would not free-up any
CF card space for the next shoot.
Rejecting, rating, and categorizing (with keywords) worked easily with
Lightroom, but *[minor problem b]* it appears the keyword shortcut list is
limited to 9 entries. Given customers can have more than 9 subjects,
it would be useful if this could be expanded, even if I implement some sort
of keyword hierarchy. I suspect the camera will complain about a bad file
format if I change any of the files on the CF card, but it looks like
the sidecar files on the computer disk allows me to "modify" images so
I can get a correct rating without actu
