    anyone used mm-exporter with DW CS4?
    or know of an alternative (that doesn't involve exporting each site individually!)
    thanks!
    edit: I should say I'm going from xp to vista

    MM_exporter doesn't work with CS4 (or CS3, if I remember correctly). The reason it's no longer being updated is because Dreamweaver allows you to export all site definitions in a single operation. Just select Site > Manage Sites. In the dialog box, shift-select all sites, and click Export. You will be asked if you want to keep the passwords. If you say yes, it will do the same for all sites. The dialog box shows just the name of the .ste file for the first site to be exported, but it exports all selected sites to the same location, each in its own individual file.

  • How to Export Team Site Site Pages to .aspx and for subsequent upload to other Team Site and Web Part Customisation included. (Powershell)

    Hi guys,
    Can i please technically know how to export an .aspx file (in Site Pages library of a team site) to local file?
    Basically, SharePoint Designer has this feature "Export File"
    i Need exactly the same feature that can be done in Powershell
    I tried the following
    $web = get-spweb "MY URL"
    $folder = $web.GetFolder("SitePages")
    $files = $folder.files
    #trying to download the first file
    [System.IO.File]::WriteAllBytes("C:\\LocalPath",$files[0].OpenRead(),$true)
    The file exported via this method is Clean HTML without the Web Part Customisation!
    I NEED the web part customisation in the exported files.
    Sample downloaded via above script
    <!-- Cropping -->
    <tr>
    <td id="_invisibleIfEmpty" name="_invisibleIfEmpty" valign="top" height="100%"> <WebPartPages:WebPartZone runat="server" Title="loc:LeftColumn" ID="LeftColumn" FrameType="TitleBarOnly"/> </td>
    <td id="_invisibleIfEmpty" name="_invisibleIfEmpty" valign="top" height="100%"> <WebPartPages:WebPartZone runat="server" Title="loc:MiddleColumn" ID="MiddleColumn" FrameType="TitleBarOnly"/> </td>
    <td id="_invisibleIfEmpty" name="_invisibleIfEmpty" valign="top" height="100%"> <WebPartPages:WebPartZone runat="server" Title="loc:RightColumn" ID="RightColumn" FrameType="TitleBarOnly"/> </td>
    </tr>
    <!-- Cropping -->
    I tried using WebRequest, it returns the  End HTML, which is not working too.
    Please if anyone has done this? Or is there any SharePoint Designer Developer here and is willing to share how to perform the export in SharePoint Designer via Powershell? API available?
    Much Appreciated!
    Cheng

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to export Team Site Site Pages to .aspx and for subsequent uploaded to other Team Site and Web Part Customisation included using Powershell.
    You can export a specific file or object from the Export-SPWeb context.
    Export-SPWeb -identity "http://sharepoint" -ItemUrl "/default.aspx"  -Path "c:\default.aspx"
    Import-SPWeb -identity "http://sharepoint" -Path "C:\default.aspx"
    Here is a similar thread for you to take a look at:

  • When I export from Lr to CS3 my image size is 8x12 roughly, why?

    I shoot RAW with a 5d mark2 I export from lr to cs3 in my workflow. I am wanting to create a gallery wrap at an image size of 24x36, when I go to create my negative space my exported image size from Lr is only 8x12, why would that be? I don't know what to do or how to make my image larger without loosing quality? I have never noticed this before? Why is it doing this now?

    It will be the settings in your export menu.

  • Trouble exporting a site

    I'm trying to export a site so that another person will be able to manage it on their computer. I understand exporting the site before moving it to another computer or hard drive is necessary for this.
    Trouble is I'm getting an error message when I try to do this:
    Access to Macintosh
    HD: Users: myname:Documents: MySite:MySite.ste was denied.
    (where myname is my computer username, and MySite is the name of the site)
    Any thoughts what this is about?

    Actually, it's really not, though it is typically handy since some people forget their FTP info and rely on DW to keep that indefinitely.
    To create a Site Definition on the new machine, without the .ste file, follow these steps (DWCC)...
    1. From DW on the new machine, go to Site > New Site
    2. Under the Site tab, there is a folder called Local Site Folder, browse to the copy of the site folder on the new hard drive for that
    3. Under the Servers tab, hit the + button and enter the FTP info
    That'll do it.

  • Exporting DW8 site

    Hello!
    I just upgraded from DW8 to CS5.5 because DW8 would no longer work under Lion (and it was time!). However, I can't open my old sites using CS5. I did a search on the forums, and it was recommended to Export the site from DW8 then import to CS5. Unfortunately DW8 won't run on my Macs anymore because I upgraded them to Lion. Is there any other way to import the site into CS5?
    Thanks!
    Dan

    I don't quite understand this.  HTML is HTML.  There is nothing to export/import other than a Site Definition (.ste) file which contains  your remote site's log-in details.
    Did you define a local site folder in DW yet?  Site > Manage Sites > New Site.

  • Export single sites?

    Hi,
    is it possible to export single sites from iweb 08? Maybe with an application?
    Thanks,
    Max

    Max:
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Yes. There are two 3rd party applications which lets you manage multiple sites separately. They are Multisite for iWeb (shareware) and iWebSites (donation ware).
    I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
    If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
    This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

    Hmm... let's see here...
    The Semi has taller tires, but the Ferrari has wider tires
    The Semi has 18 gear speeds, the Ferrari has a 6 speed transmission
    The Semi and the Ferrari both have a supercharger
    The Semi runs Diesel, the Ferrari runs high octane gasoline
    The Semi driver is about 6 feet above the roadway, the Ferrari driver about 6 inches
    The Semi driver has a CB, the Ferrari has a stereo with 12 speakers
    I think this deserves a bit more study...

  • Export a site

    When I export a site, I do not get the export dialog to
    backup the files. I do get a .ste. However, when I import from a
    flash drive to the client's computer, file paths with images and
    templates change. Please tell me any way to transfer the files onto
    his computer.

    >>When I export a site, I do not get the export dialog
    to backup the files.
    That's the way it works. It doesn't export the actual files
    included in the
    site. You have to do that separately.
    >>I do get a .ste.
    That's all Export is supposed to do. It gives you a backup
    copy of your
    site's definition (settings).
    > to transfer the files onto his computer.
    Create (Export) the .ste file.
    Copy the site folder and all files to a disk.
    Copy site folder/files to client's computer. Import the .ste
    file into DW on
    the client's computer.
    Manage Sites > Edit - Adjust folder settings in the site
    definition to match
    the client's setup.

  • Exporting Quicktime from Flash CS3

    I got the new CS3 suite 2 weeks ago and have been loving it.
    I am finishing out a nice animation for a client and realized when
    I tried to export it to a Quicktime movie that it wont. The
    progress bar progressese just like normal and when it gets to the
    end it stays there. I read up on Adobes site about a quicktime
    error fixed by turning flash on in the preferences and I did that,
    restarted and it still is doing the same thing.
    Is there any other possibilities out there that could cause
    this to happen? I would think this wouldn't just be my copy doing
    this but it very well may be a wide spread bug.
    Thanks in advance for any help! :)

    That's the stupidest thing I ever heard of!! How can you remove the option for determining the size of my movie?! If the size of the frame influances the frame rate, you should have fixed that. With this it means I have to make my flash file 1920x1080 if I want the quicktime movie to be HD, not a pixel less.
    Is there a way to override this? A plug-in or something that wil let me determine the size of the qiucktime movie independetly of the size of the flash file?

  • Black border when exporting a site in Fireworks

    Strange problem with Adobe Fireworks CS3 when exporting to html - added a black border, edging around the site, ~ 3 mm.
    When viewed in Dreamweaver shows the following:
    Question: how to remove the border?

    It is just as I said, you need to set the margin and padding to 0   :-)
    In your code find:  (line 8)
    <style type="text/css">td img {display: block;}</style>
    and replace it with the following:
    <style type="text/css">
    body {margin: 0; padding: 0;}
    td img {display: block;}
    </style>
    Note:  It is never a good idea to export html code from a graphics program.  You should export individual slices and then build the site in Dreamweaver,.  At the moment, the whole webpage is make up of graphics - this is not the way to build a page, particularly if you want the pages found in Search Engines.
    Here is a good tutorial teaching how to take a Fireworks design into Dreamweaver:

  • Trouble importing sites in CS3

    I can't find any info on this. I installed CS3 on my MacPro
    and exported my websites definitions from my G4 and copied the
    local folders to the new computer. I have noticed that when I
    "manage" my sites and click away from the local info tab that
    several sites are giving me the errors:
    "The file selected is not within the current site's local
    root folder. The site map cannot be built."
    "The selected folder does not contain the current site's home
    page. The site map cannot be built."
    "Warning: the images folder is not inside the site."
    All these sites seem to be working. I can see the local files
    and folders in the files panel. I can open and edit and upload. I
    assume this has something to do with exporting/importing from the
    old computer.
    Also, like many others, CS3 is running very slowly. Bogging
    down with everything I do. I have changed to rosetta mode but it
    didn't really help. I'm wondering if it has something to do with
    the above. It is still slow with the sites that are not having the
    errors. I seems to want to access the remote site unnecessarily.
    I have read all the documentation on the CS3 problems. Thank
    you for any suggestions.

    When you look at the site definitions, are the paths to the
    local root
    folders correct?
    Does your hard drive name have any unusual characters in it
    (periods,
    apostrophes, underscores, spaces, etc.)?

  • Error message for export to PDF in CS3 after os upgrade

    I upgraded my Mac o/s to 10.6.8 -Snow Leopard - Now CS3 gives me an error when I try to export a file to PDF that says"PDF library failed to initialize" Adobe says that CS3 is compatible with snow leopard, but they don't troubleshoot CS3 anymore. Anybody have an idea on how to fix?

    Uninstall InDesign. Uninstaller should be in Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers. Reinstall InDesign from your original media or your backup installer.

  • Windows 7 and Advanced Site Setup CS3

    This really seems like a dumb question, but I have to ask. Usings DW CS3 under XP, when setting up a new site using the "advanced" tab, you could simply click the folder icon next to "local root folder" and click to either select or create a folder without typing the directory location.
    In October I upgraded to Windows 7 on one of my computers, and the "click" feature didn't work.  I sufficed with simply typing in the actual directory.  I've not upgraded to Win 7 on my second computer, and am developing test sites using CF and WAMP, where it's critical the core files stay in the CF or WAMP root directories. Now that Win 7 does not let you share root directories easily (I won't make this a post about Windows networking!) I've figured out how to work on DW dynamic sites on a home network.  But it's REALLY difficult now to designating a local root folder "remotely" --- that is, accessing the core site files on computer A from computer B on the network if I have to type the location. It's so much easier if you just click it from the folder icon the way it used to work under XP.  Ummmmm, is it a compatibility issue with DWCS3 and Win 7, or is it a Win 7 setting I need to change?  To repeat, I noticed this now on both win 7 machines.
    Thanks,
    W!
