Exporting jpeg without white background??

hey everyone
I'm trying to export my work so I can place it on another picture.  It always takes the white background with it.  Is it possible to just export what I have drawn without taking whats behind it??  Any help would be great.  I'm using cs2.

No... not in jpg. You need to export / save as a gif or png with transparency enabled. Make sure the background is unchecked / blank / has no colour.

  • Is there a way to export a slideshow to JPEG without a background?

Hi, I'm using LR4 to do a basic sign with many text overlays on a background image in Slideshow.  I would like to export this image as a jpeg and then print it as an 8x10 to put in a frame.  However, when I export the slideshow to jpeg or PDF, I'm getting the black background behind the image.  I have nothing checked in the "Backdrop" menu on the right hand side.  Is there any way to remove this background in slideshow?  Is there a way to do this in another module instead?  I want more than just a watermark so didn't think Print was the right way to go.
Example of my print preview below with black background.

Looks like you won't need to use the Develop module–Follow the below instructions
    1) An 8" x 10"  image with 300 ppi resolution = 2400 x 3000 pixel dimensions. Make sure your background image has at least that resolution or higher!
    2) Next from inside the LR Slideshow module drag the 'Top' guide all the up so the image fills the frame vertically:
    3) Next go to 'Export JPEG Slideshow' and manually enter Width = 2400 & Height= 3000. The exported Slideshow JPEG should be perfectly cropped and sized providing the original background image is 8x10 aspect ratio:
    4) You are ready to make your print!
    P.S. Please excuse my typo showing 3000 x 24000 it should read 3000 x 2400!

  • Exporting text without the background?

    Hi all,
I am working on an awards project using keynote and Livetype, I would like to export specific text livefonts without the generic background. For example, after exporting, being able to drag them onto a keynote slide without the black background being imported aswell, I just need the text. I am aware I could use Photoshop to remove it but as it is a large project I dont want to have to remove it all. any info would be greatly appreciated.
    many thanks tommy

Photoshop would not be appropriate for removing the black at all since it's not really there if you export properly with the alpha channel from LT.
LT is not very good typesetting tool unless you simply must have access to the weird custom fonts or visual effects. You cannot perform typesetting adjustments such as kerning in LT.

  • Export to PDF - white background

When I print ot export to PDF and I want to add a a background to the file in Acrobat afterwards, this background doens't seem to show... meaning the background is white instead of transparant. Any way to settle this?
I need this option for my invoices: we print on letterhead, but when sending an invoice by email, I include the letterhead background in Acrobat, which worked out easily in Excel.
    Thanks!
    Dirk

why not just place the letter head image as an image behind your Numbers tables?
Then either print to PDF or export to PDF from there?
don't forget to set each tables properties to no fill. Both the "container" and the table cell contents themselves need to be no fill. (This might actually be part of your problem, I don't know for sure with out being at my computer to check).

  • Export indesign cs5.5 to jpeg w/out background

    Hello everybody.
I have a document with a tree (I made it myself on indesign) and a text on the side, and I would like to save both as a jpeg file. I have tried several ways to do this, such as exporting the file and save it as a jpeg file, but it seems that when I do this there's still a white background, so I was wondering if I can somehow save it w/out this background because I need to print this in a paper bag (and the paper bag is black!).
I hope you can help me.

What do you mean with export pdf? I'm sorry, I don't know that much about indesign as you can see.
File > Export > PDF (Print) and pick the Press Quality preset. Your PDF will look like it has a white background if you look at it on screen in Acrobat, but if you Place it in a new ID document on top of a colored background you'll see it has no background at all.
I don't think you are grasping the big issue here, though. To get color to show, you need to be printing against a white piece of paper. Anything else will become a component of the final color and will change it. If the paper is already black, anything you try to print on top of it without essentially painting the print area white first is just going to become darker black with a color cast. You won't get any bright or light colors.
Normally, if you want colors on a black background you print it all on white paper, printing the black background at the same time and leaving a "hole" in the black backgorund everyplace that there should be some other color. For bags, this would mean that the printing is done before the bags are "converted," or folded up and glued.
It's not impossible to print onto black paper, it's just a lot more work, and requires extra preparation.

  • White background with swf export

How can I apply a swf file created in InDesign into my web page without the white background coming with it. I'm using CS6.
I'm selecting transparent background when exporting. This is so annoying.

When you export the swf there should be an HTML container in the same destination folder. If you view that HTML file in a browser do you get what you expect?
If you are moving  the swf to another HTML page make sure the embed code parameters match. So in the boilerplate HTML ID creates the body tag and the embed parameters both have bgcolor as #999999:
When you move the swf make sure the div tag that encloses the swf has the same bcolor style color as the embed code's bgcolor

  • Problem with exported jpegs from CS5 PSDs with transparent backgrounds

I've detected an issue where when exporting jpegs from a CS5 PSD layered file with a transparent background, the jpegs don't have a pure white background (255, 255, 255). They seem to range from 250, 250, 250 to 253, 253, 253.
LR3 with same export settings does not show this behavior--it's pure white: 255, 255, 255.

    Bill,
Another very helpful solution and I appreciate knowing how to fix it in both applications. Thanks!

  • Hello everyone, So When I use the eraser on a photo and try to save it as jpeg is makes is save it as a copy but the parts that I erased are replaced with a white background and thats not what I want

Hello everyone, So When I use the eraser on a photo and try to save it as jpeg is makes is save it as a copy but the parts that I erased are replaced with a white background and thats not what I want

That may not be what you want, but Jpeg images are flattened, without transparency.  Every pixel has a color value, with the default background usually being white.  If you want to crate an image that leaves the erased area transparent, you will need to use an image format such as .gif or .pnc.

  • Adobe Media Encoder for AE export creates unwanted black background on load in white background

Hi. I have a seamless white website design. I added a white background to my AE file and also exported to Adobe Media Encoder with a white background, but I'm still getting a flash of black when the video loads. I have read discussions of this being a "bug" of the media encoder, but curious if anyone found a workaround. It's distracting to have the back load to black and then change to white, so I appreciate any recommendations. For now, my only idea it to re-record the video after the black flash, using a screen capture app, but this seems tedious and does not produce optimum results. Am I missing something?

    Thanks for your reply!
I tried using Quicktime with PNG and it created a big file (1.18GB for a 1 minute long clip) that doesn't play back nicely in PPro unfortunately. But I then tried rendering the clip using a lossy format, H.264, in AE and it's playing back ok in PPro! I will just do that for the rest of the clips and hope that this is finally resolved. Many thanks for the tip!
Out of curisoty, do you know what might be causing the problem when I use Media Encoder?

  • How to insert cropped images from photoshop without the white background

Basically all I want to do is take a peice of writing from a video and insert it into another video. To do this I've took a screenshot of the font from the video and imported it into photoshop. I've then cropped/cut/took the the peice of writing I want, letter by letter. I want to be able to insert it into another video, but whenever I attempt to do it, I have the default white background of photoshop. Is there anyway to insert an image from photoshop, without taking the background with it, or even insert a layer from photoshop straight into final cut pro? Sorry if this is confusing.

I don't think so. I cropped the letters, put them each an individual file, removed the background, saved them as a TIF then tried to import them onto Final Cut Pro, but a white background still appeared in the TIF file. Basically I just want to make the background transparent I believe.

  • I'm shooting great white screen but when I key out the white background, I have a very thin white outline around my person that I don't know how to soften without loosing some facial opacity. Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I'm shooting white screen and FINALLY have my lighting, white balance, exposure and focus making a great looking, crispy clip! But when I key out the white background in a short segment, I'm left with a very thin, white outline around my person that I don't know how to soften, without loosing facial opacity. I only tried using the 'Edges' tool. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?

  • Black text on white background has horrible glow after export & viewed on TV.

I'm wondering how to correct a glow that develops around black text after exporting. Black text is on white background of course.
    Export settings:
    H.264
    HDTV 1080p 24 HQ
I've checked of 'use max. render quality' as well as 'render at max. depth'
If someone could help, that would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to try the contrast change.
In Titler ..make the White Fill less than full white. ( Color Picker Fill)  235 to 245 should be fine.
I would not mess with the Black and you should not need to Key line anything with Grey.
But maybe you did not make this text in Titler.
If not..you need to make the changes in original application. eg PhotoShop.
What TV is involved in viewing this?
How does the Text look in the PPRO Monitors?

  • How can I save a a cut-out pic without the white background?

This may seem like a stupid question, but when I cut-out an image (jpg), and then go to save it, it saves with the background of the pic in white. How can I save it without a background at all so that I can use it in another program like Power Point???

Thanks for the info. I didn't know jpg. files don't support the transparent background, but guessed that it was going to be something like that.
Thanks so much for the info and your help!

  • What's the deal with large white blocks in exported jpegs

I just exported my first job I ran through Aperture. Out of 736 files, 9 were flawed. When opened, the exported jpeg had a missing section of the photo, that was all white. The white block appeared in random spots but always on the edges. The problem didn't occur the second time around with the same 9 files/ this time processed in a batch of 9.
I need to know how to export files reliably - in my workflow, I don't have time to double check file quality.
Has anyone seen this issue? I've seen it with 1.1.1 and 1.1.2.
    I'm shooting with a 1ds mrkII.
    MacBookPro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

i've seen this too, in other odd ways. it seems to affect the images that i've spotted (with the patch tool) and have other corrections/adjustment applied. its almost like the GPU gets too overloaded to accurately recreate all of the image mods. the image seems to be segmented into smaller rectangular sections that probably get loaded into the video card's memeory and the adjustments and corrections are applied on smaller, more managable sections. when the image is stitched back together something goes horribly wrong!
the sections tend to be mis-matched with some completely black, some that have black spots where the patch tool was applied, other sections have what looks like a white overlay that's 50% opaque. sometimes even my thumbnails come up with the same results as these malformed exports. i've been able to shake them back to normalcy by toggling one of the corrections (spot/patch, highligh/shadow, etc). after the thumbnail updates properly, the export usually works fine.
this is definitely a bug with aperture and i would report it as such. attach and send the image to the bug report if you can!

ps: for what its worth, i'm usually shooting with my Nikon D200 these days.
