Exporting movie errors

Hello
I've seen references to these errors in the forum, but no clear indication as to what the fix is or what caused it.
Export to 1080p I get error -108
Export to 720p I get rror -50
I am able to export to quicktime....
The movie is 1 hour long. My hard disk has 90GB left, should be enough? I have 4 GB of ram, and am running snow leopard with the latest update, dito for imovie 11, all the latest updates.
I want to burn it via idvd, so I'm not sure if exporting the movie to quicktime is the best way? Quality wise? I'm not a video expert.
Does someone have a clear idea what causes these errors? I can't find a definitive error code listing from apple.
If I can't export this movie in 720p, I will cry myself into dehydration.
Thank you all

Update:
I called apple support, and they were very helpful. The jist of it is, in my hour+ long movie, and have many many small clips with many small audio clips as well. This is likely too much for the finalizing process. The solution is to do one of the following:
1. chop the movie up into quarters, and export them mpeg4 with the h.254 codec
- reimport them as events and create a new project with the 4 clips
- finalize them or export them to whatever format you want and need.
This should work just fine. Will give this a go, but running out of time today so will try later on.
Hope this helps someone else.

  • Unable to Export Movie (Error code = -32766)

I get this error message when I try to export as .flv a short (10 sec) movie created in iMovie using three photographs (for use as flash slideshow on a website). Here's what I'm doing: Share>Export Using Quicktim>Export Movie to Flash Video>Save>Error Message.
    Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!

No it is not answered, but since no one has any comment, just forget I ever posted it.

  • Canon HG10 - Export Movie Error -2125?

    HI,
My workflow is basically, Plug in camera, import the clips from hdd (which takes ages since it converts from AVCHD to Apple lossless and takes up much more space than the original movie) - I drag and edit the clips to make a small movie then choose export video and set the quicktime options to 720p - it sits there quite happily spending hours rendering the movie and promptly quits with an error code, why does iMovie doe this, and is there any way to actually export from iMovie 08 at least HD content? (after all it DID import HD content....)
    -M

I have the same error. Tried everything. The project is quite large, so I tried to split it in smaller parts and then sharing to external HD via QT or just export movie with default settings as "large". After ~300 minutes (that is, in fact, 5 hours for just one part) of exporting it says that it could not export the movie due to error -2125. That error number should mean something, shouldn't it? Something to give a clue what is wrong (with me apparently)...
And, no, iMovie 06 will not work either, because it does not support that sony camera.

  • IMovies 09 (8.0.6): Unable to Export Movie: Error -43

    OS: 10.7.2
    Imovie 09: 8.0.06
When I go to export a movie using Share --> Export Using Quicktime
A popup comes up and says:
Can't export Movie becasue an erro occured. -43
What is error -43?  The error is not very descriptive.
    Thanks, Jim

I have my souce movies stored on an external 500gb drive, with 35gb free. The drive in the laptop has 30gb free.
I was able to get imovie to use the external hard drive to store the movies by creating a symlink from $HOME/Movies to /Volumes/Movies.

  • Test / Export Movie Error

CS3 Flash. Just installed. When I go to Test movie or Export
    Movie I get this error:
Error creating Flash movie file. ....
    Locked drive.
I am running Leopard and unlocked my drive in the "get info"
but it automatically locks it again.
Strangest thing that I have seen.
I can export to an external drive but not my hard drive. I
have no problems with previous versions of Flash.
I can although save the movie to my hard drive.
    any ideas?

Go into Publish settings and then to the Flash tab and down
at the bottom make sure that "device sounds" isn't checked. Unless
you are publishing for a mobile phone or something like that, you
    don't want that checked.
    I think…

I am exporting using quicktime on my MacBook, Movie to MPEG4, options H.264, Data Rate 1700, image size 768x576 SD, frame rate 30, Key Frame Automatic.
iMovie opens a window that says Exporting project, the line shows progress until it gets to the end, then the error comes up.
Any idea what this error is and what is happening?
    Thanks

  • [Error 333] Cannot export movie at all

    Hi All,
I have created a new movie using iMovie 8.5 (latest version included in iLife 09).
Unfortunately, when I try to export my first project, after few minutes of processing (the blu progress bar fully completes the process) it gives me an error saying that is Imposssible to export the movie, error 333.
I have not registered yet my iLife, could be that one the reason or could be something else?
To me is so weird, if was the registration it should have been said before..
    Thanks a lot

    Hello,
Are you having a similar problem as this?:
    CIRCUMSTANCES:
I have the most recent version of OSX and of FCPX and yet I cannot  export or "Share" my timeline's Project.
I have the simplest project (a sequence of small video clips with no effects at all) and the program does not let me "share" anything.
I have been using FCPX since the first week it came out; it's not like I'm completely lost (I have already done many jobs).
    DOUBT:
WHY ARE ALL THE SHARE* OPTIONS INACTIVE?
*Either selecting the Project from the browser  or clicking directly on the Timeline, the Share options I'm referring to are found on File > Share > ....
    ANSWER:
If your Sequence contains one single Clip which was not well imported from the camera, FCPX will not let you "Share" (Export) the Project at all (The timeline's sequence). FCPX is probably wanting to alert you by means of a yellow triangle on the Event's icon, right at the corresponding missbehaving Event. Click on that Event, scroll down through all your clips on the Browser and you will most probably find a clip with the same yellow triangle with exclamation mark.
In order to detect the wrong clip (or clips) on the timeline, you shall click on the timeline you are not able to export (that is, to "Share") and, once you have clicked on the timeline itself, open your "Timeline Index" ( which shortcut is: shift  cmd 2 ).
Once in the Timeline Index, click on "Clips" (upper left, under the small search window) and also click on Video (at the bottom of the whole Timeline Index box).
Now you have the whole list of all your clips which are used in the Timeline. Scroll down until you find all the marked clips (they are all marked with the same yellow triangle with an exclamation mark). Eliminate them from either the Timeline Index or directly from the timeline if you want to export  anything.
I hope this was helpful to anyone with erroneously imported clips or any misbehaving imported media.

  • How do I export from IMovie when "not enough room in Heap Zone" error code appears?   How can I correct,  what to Do.."export movie" insteand of Media browser or IDVD?  Finalize movie?  I want to burn it to DVD!

How do I export from IMovie to Wondershare Creator to Make DVD and share hour long movie when I am unable to "publish" movie on Media Browser of IDVD because the error code "not enough room in heap Zone/ " appears and function is aborted.
I shortened the movie, that is no cure...Correcting date info on clips does not pertain.  Why would Apple throw roadblocks in your way without solving problems they create?
A techie made an appointment on the phone and was totally incapable of addressing the problem.
    What is a heap zone????

Instead of Share to Media Browser, what happens if you try Share Menu > Export Movie... (choose Large size) and save it to the Desktop?
If that fails try Share Menu > Export using QuickTime...
Then pick Movie to QuickTime Movie, then click on Options... which is just to the right of Export
Under the Video section click on Settings...
Then in the pulldown menu at the top, titled Compression Type: Choose Apple Intermediate Codec. Then click OK. And click OK again, and save it to the desktop. Once the .mov file is created, you can import that into iDVD and most likely it will work in Wondershare Creator if you prefer to use that instead.

  • Catalog export results in -9111 Move error

I have an instance which I'd like to transfer to a new server via loader but doing the catalog export I get this error in KnlMsg:

This happens on 7.7.06.09 and also on 7.7.07.16. I guess there is some corruption in the DB but because it works well apart from export we didn't find it out. Any ideas how to find what is wrong or how to work around the issue?
    Thanks,

    Hi Lars,
thanks for your message! This is not a SAP system.
You said it should have been fixed in our versions, does it mean the problem is now in our database and the fix doesn't help us? How can we correct the situation?
    Thanks,

  • Error -108 when exporting movie iMovie??????

error -108 when exporting movie iMovie??????

As a guess, try right-clicking on your Event and see if it allows you to Optimize Media. If it does, choose Optimize - Full.
    Your export should now work.

  • Receiving an export file error: wrong type

I have created a movie several times in FCP and then exported the movie to QT without any problems. Now all of a sudden, I can't get the movie to export correctly. After the 2 hour export, I'll check on FCP to find that the program has shut down without an "Unexpected Shut Down" message. I check for the exported movie which I find in the saved folder. I click to open and verify the completed job, but find that I get an error instead : "Error: Wrong Type".
The last successful movie I created was September 14th, prior to the QT 7.5.5 upgrade. I thought it was the upgrade, as I found out that FCP does not do well with the new QT version, so I reverted to QT 7.5, but I am still experiencing the same problem with FCP quitting and the movie not being able to read.
What is going on? Can anyone help?

    Francois:
This is a crazy solution, but this happened to me last week and this solution enabled me to open my files again -- they were all greyed out and I thought I'd lost them. I took my drive in to an Apple Store Genius Bar without resolution and spend 2 hours online with ProApps (FCE/FCP) tech support, also with no resolution.
This fix is based on the fact that FCP when it is started, it automatically opens the project that was open when it was closed. First, in FCP save the current project (this can be any project -- I created a placeholder project -- to a dummy name -- I used "save me". Close FCP and delete the dummy name ("save me") project. Now rename the project that is greyed out and provides the File Error: Wrong Type message that you would like to open to the dummy name, so that it's now called "save me". Now open FCP again. Now save the recuperated file using the original name.
