Exporting movie from premier problem, no export to movie option displayed

My project is all .mov files, with compressed and uncompressed .wav sound files, a .mov sound file, a .psd image file which has been flattened, some jpeg still images also. The Export-movie selection isnt available and it only lets me go through the media encoder which wont load my file into the queue. im running a macpro 0sx10.5.6

Using 6-7 year old software that's no longer receiving updates & was never designed to run on 10.10 is asking for trouble. That said, try re-installing PS and installing Java SE6

HT4241 How do I get an Epson EX5210 to display using the HDMI mini display port adapter so I can see 1080p downloaded movie from iTunes? It won't recognize the display via hdmi cable and adapter!

Please help! I've tried everything to get this dang thing to display a downloaded movie from itunes on my epson EX5210 lcd projector via a HDMI cable plugged into a minidisplay port adapter. I am no expert and have no idea what to do!

By the way, this dang thing has "only" 768 physical pixels vertically, so "1080p" won't be visible anyway, and scaling will take place. Hope you won't be diappointed. All specs including resolutions here.

I have recently upgraded to OSX mavericks and updated my AE and PP CS6. When I export/render a movie the videos seem fine but the thumbnails are not a screenshot of the video - which is how I would like it (how it used to be). Instead it is of the quicktime logo just like this - http://embryology.med.unsw.edu.au/embryology/images/8/8c/Quicktime-icon.jpg. Please can anyone tell me how to fix this problem.

additional information -
I also noticed that rendering from final cut also creates the wrong thumbnails (used to be a screenshot as explained previously)
Exporting from quicktime pro seems fine (thumbnails have screenshot)

Voice-over moves from centre channel on export

I am one of those amateurs who have moved up from imovies to FCPX and I am making videos for youtube quite happily, with a couple of small problems on audio.
I usually use stereo in projects, but when I have started a project in the default settings of surround, I have noticed my voiceover moving from the centre to the right channel when exported as H264 and played in quicktime. If I upload that to youtube, the voiceover is off to one side, not in the middle. To check out where the problem is I have reimported the exported project brought back into FCPX as a new project, and all audio moves back to the correct channels.
This happens on both my macbook pro and imac.
Any advice on what is going on?

Tthis is from the Apple help menu, could you have the settings wrong in the monitor section?:
Position the playhead where you want to start recording in the Timeline.
Choose Window > Record Audio.
If necessary, adjust the input parameters by doing any of the following:
To change where the recording is saved: Choose an Event folder from the Destination pop-up menu.
To change the input device or number of input channels (mono or stereo): Choose an option from the Input Device pop-up menu.
To adjust the input level of the microphone: Drag the Gain slider right to increase the input level, or left to decrease it, using the Audio meters to view and correct audio levels.
If necessary, adjust the output parameters by doing any of the following:
To hear output while recording: Select the Monitor checkbox.Note: If both input and output sources are near each other (such as the built-in microphone and built-in speakers), you may experience feedback.
To change the output device or number of output channels (mono or stereo): Choose an option from the Monitor pop-up menu.
To adjust the output level: Drag the Gain slider right to increase the output level, or left to decrease it.

Exporting files from lightroom: problem with filename

I am a sports-photographer and i use lightroom since version 1.0. i really like it to edit my pictures and it is very easy to use for importing my files and setting the meta-datas.
but i have one problem, that forces me to open up each file i export once again to rename it, what costs a lot of time:
when i export my files, i can choose a preset to give it a name, which works well. but i would need it like this: "my preferences"001 (f.e. oliver-climbing-01oct09001) and raising in numbers.
lightroom ALWAYS makes a "-" between my presets and the numbers.
does anyone know if there is a possibilty to export the file and give it a name without this "-" in fornt of the number?

u are right, but this is not my problem:
i want lightroom to count my exported pictures starting with 001, then 002, then 003 at the end and so on
but if i use the sequency-number or anything else, it does not generate a new name like 001, then 002,
but it does make 001 and then 001-2 and 001-2...
u can see that in the screenshot i made down here...

I purchased a movie from ITunes, only 1 of the movies in the trilogy downloaded.

I purchased the Godfather Triology from ITunes. I have a receipt showing I purchased said trilogy. Only the first movie of the trilogy downloaded. I cannot fine the other two movies.

About to move from Windows to Mac. Considering purchasing retina display MBP 15" with dual boot system as I need some of my programs. How is the display in windows for photoshop?

Has anyone got any thoughts or have you yourself purchased the MBP with Retina display and added the dual boot system with windows?
I desperately need to update my gear and want a MBP.
I'm a full time photographer at my local paper and freelance photographer - use computers A LOT, and only use windows. I've experienced mac and know I prefer it, the way it runs pleases me a whole lot more and for the amount i'm processing/working I need something that will keep up.
With 12 years of photoshop gear loaded up for all my photo processing etc, I'm wanting to add Windows and have use of both. Windows would run photoshop that I had already purchased some time ago - question is, how will it run? what will the display be like running Windows on Mac with the retina display?
I use CS4 at the moment and can't afford to upgrade to CS6 just yet, plus i'd waste a lot of what I already have by starting again on Mac. I'd use Mac for everything else, need the use of Windows for portions of what I do.
About to head to Canada and want to get set up for the road. Any help is much appreciated.

There are some drawbacks, running Windows 7 (only) on a Mac via Bootcamp yields less than stellar results, especially with the Retina display.
And of your traveling, the Mac's high power needs (especially the Retina display) and lack of removable battery are going to be a serious issue. The Retina display is glossy, not ideal for viewing on the road and in varied environments.
CS4 won't run on the OS X version that comes with a Mac, so your looking at purchasing CS6.
Support for Windows is more widespread than for Mac's, also if you ever need to redownload OS X to fix a issue, requires a fast reliable Internet connection of the broadband kind.
If your running Windows on your Mac, you can expect to be on your own and not get support as easily as if you were running it on a regular PC.
If you can't afford to keep up with CS upgrades, then you shouldn't be considering a Mac because there are more paid upgrades on that than on Windows 7, it's like a annual nightmare.
IMMO your still better off on a decent, 1920 x 1080 res, matte screen, removable battery (with extras), Win 7 Pro i7 machine (Pro+ runs XP programs) which will stay like it is and get security updates until 2020.
OS X changes every year and if you don't upgrade, + all your third party software, then about 3 years later your left behind for updates.
Also you will have to buy Win 7 to run on your Mac, the OEM disks won't work.
If your trying to budget, then a Mac is certainly not for you.

Problem when exporting to Vimeo I get message "The share operation has failed. Quicktime error: -50" The file only gets to 8% before this happens any idea how to fix I have a movie deadline to meet!

Finished editing a short movie.
Then went to share on vimeo but got this message - see also screenshot when I tried to export to desktop.

Have tried deleting my render files for the project and also another fix mentioned of deleting any black space files on the edit itself but neither work?
Just upgraded to OS Mavericks could this be causing it? If so how to downgrade?

Thanks for your help both, I called Apple tech support and spoke to a really helpful chap called Andrea who helped me out. Now got my Master file sorted and am trying Vimeo upload again.
Just to clarify points for people out there with the same issue:
First steps
- Ensure background rendering is turned off in preferences
- Delete project and events render files
- If upgraded to Mavericks then go to FCPX in finder under applications hit buttons 'CMD' and 'I' together and tick the 'prevent App Nap' box.
Next Steps
I had already done all of this when Apple Tech spoke to me so we discussed the message 'Quicktime -50' and what it meant. It wasnt a purely generic error message but was not detailed enough to point to one specific issue. This problem had occurred in previous years (so Mavericks not wholly to blame) and patches were issued over the years by Apple to help resolve some of the problems.
The message essentially is indicating that there is a problem somewhere with the media in some way shape or form.
My export went to 8% then failed. Apple's answer was that the project settings were corrupted in some way.
So what they suggested (so simple I could kick myself) was to select all the media files by 'CMD + A' then copy them 'CMD + C' then create and open a new project timeline, and then paste in 'CMD + V'.
Then we tried export again this time to a master file with some settings detailed by Apple.
The difference now was it got to 40% then failed but due to a different reason 'error -1 frame 10124 error'
At last we get past the project issues and into the event media issues, it seems that when I loaded the compact flash last night, the iMac kept ejecting the reader so had to copy files over quickly and seems that some of the file clip I used although showed on the viewer, didn't seem to have loaded all the correct media, so selecting this clip frame 10124 on the viewer I found that it showed as red on the frame row which implied an issue. So I simply bladed it off and deleted it.
Then I reran the export to Master file and it worked, though jumping from 40% to 100% complete was a shock to me!
Now am trying the export to Vimeo - hope this helps some of you out there. Worst case pick up the phone to Apple and speak to the Final Cut Pro guys they can help.

Can I export music from my iTunes library to another application?

I've been trying to figure out how to export music from my iTunes library to either Movie Maker or Roxio My DVD Creator. If I browse to my iTunes library, it doesn't show any music within the artist folders. I take it the only way I could use the music is to burn a CD and then open it using "my computer" and copying it to a folder on my PC and then browse to it from the other applications?

I think AAC will get you a little better quality for
the same file size of an Mp3. If I recall, iTunes
saves the original file and makes a copy with the
converted version. But to be safe, just make a backup
copy of the original file
And I take it that it makes no difference what format the file is in, it will still upload to the iPod and be playable there. I guess the default is set at AAC in iTunes and I never knew where/how to change it.

CS5: Bug when exporting directly from PPro with hardware MPE?

For the record, I'm using:
A GTX-480 (unsupported)
The hardware MPE-enabling hack (unsupported)
The latest version of the nVidia drivers (257.whatever)
I discovered an issue, of sorts, when exporting directly from Premiere CS5, versus using the "Queue" option to send to AME. I was exporting from an NTSC DV Standard sequence to a 320x240 H.264, in which I had enable cropping and trimmed a bit off the sides and top and bottom of the source; the Output tab was summarily set to "Scale to Fit". With hardware MPE enabled in the Project Settings, the export would be the proper final dimensions (320x240), but any area that was cropped off was instead padded with black. The actual video content was then squeezed and malformed into the area not occupied by the black bars.
I found that, if I disabled hardware MPE or sent the export through AME by use of the Queue button (instead of Export), then the export was performed properly--the video was cropped correctly and then the video stretched to the borders of the exported video, maintaining the desired aspect ratio.
As I mentioned at the outset, I'm breaking a couple rules and perhaps tempting fate with others, but before I go about rolling back my drivers and the like, has anyone noticed a similar issue?
ADDENDUM: By the way, the export doesn't need to come from a sequence. If I load up a source clip into the Source Monitor, and export from there using the process outlined above, I get the same issue. This would seem to indicate, to me, that this is due to some incompatibility with my card, its driver and hardware MPE...

Well, he did both, actually--but the quote above is a typo on my part. I meant to say "exports" or "encodes." I would recommend deleting the affected movie from your iPad, and redownloading the movie.

How to delete movies from my playlist

If I watch my Library on TV it shows my list with movies that I've downloaded. After I've watched it, I delete the movie on my computer (so I thought), but it still shows in the Library.
I've tried to search the Playing list on my computer to remove and ordered but can't find it.
Any suggestions how to get rid of those movies?

I generally delete my Movies from the library section and select move to trash. Then I delete trash and the Movie is gone just like any other content in iTunes
