Exporting .MP4 in Premiere Elements 12

I've been searching for the correct way to export a file to .MP4 without having poor video quality or dropped frames. I've used the IPad Widescreen High Quality option and even the AVCHD .MP4 - HD 720p 60 option. The first produced a low video quality and the latter dropped frames.
I'm exporting to MP4 to post to youtube. I'm not sure if quantifying that helps, but yeah. Any sort of insight is greatly appreciated!

Cove
To get off on the right foot with this, what are the properties of this .mp4 source that you are bringing into a Premiere Elements 12 project?
What computer operating system are you running Premiere Elements 12 on?
I am looking for video and audio compression, frame size, frame rate, interlaced or progressive, pixel aspect ratio, duration for starters.
Based on these properties, what have you or the program set as the project preset for the project?
Based on the information that you supply, I will comment on the YouTube choices I would make for the best quality result for the upload to YouTube. What is your intent:
a. export your Timeline to a file saved to computer hard drive and then upload that file to YouTube at the YouTube web site
b. upload your Premiere Elements 12 Timeline to YouTube via Premiere Elements' Publish+Share/Social Websites/YouTube?
Your choices may be forced (limited) by the Premiere Elements....Social Website/YouTube limitations of 2.00 GB/15 min.
Looking forward to your follow up.
Thanks.

Both ways, you can customize the Export Settings under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab.
You do not have to settle for the default which the program offers.
Please let us know if the above targeted your question. If not, please supply more details.

  • No sound in exported .mpg - Adobe Premiere Elements 9

I have an audio/video project that plays fine in Adobe Premiere Elem. 9, but when I export as MPEG or WMV file, there is no sound. I'm 99.9% sure it's not my export settings as I've exported on these same settings hundreds of times before with no issues.  One thing I can think of is that an error regarding "scratch disks" pops up when opening the project, and I've attached the screen shot.  I don't know how to fix that - if someone knows, I would appreciate the solution!  I've also attached screen shots of my timeline, project settings and export settings.  I'm not extremely  advanced with the computer, so if you could provide any explanations in simple terms, that'd be appreciated! thanks!

Thank you for the screenshots to supply details related to your Premiere Elements 9 project with the audio export issue.
I am in the process of studying the information from your screenshots. While I am doing this, could you post a screenshot of the Scratch Disks under Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks so that I can see where each is directed and how much free hard drive space is at the location for each.
    Preliminary Questions about your screenshots
    Your Second Screenshot...
Why are the gray tabs of the Work Area Bar not spanning the whole Timeline content?
The above screenshot is from 10, but it shows the principle of the Work Area Bar gray tabs and them spanning the whole Timeline content.
    Third Screenshot...MPEG Export
I would consider the Pixel Aspect Ratio = Square Pixels instead of Widescreen 16:9. But, my primary question here is what is set under the Multiplexer Tab. Is the DVD or None dotted? If None, then please use DVD choice. Your source appears to be 1920 x 1080p24 but you are exporting as 1920 x 1080i25. Do you want to export 1920 x 1080p24? If you do, I can tell you how to do that using preset = HD720p25 and customizing the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of that preset.
Let us start here and then compare notes to resolve the no sound in MPEG export. We will consider the WMV export next. Do you get sound in the export if you make a QuickTime export choice instead of Windows Media and MPEG? Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer along with Premiere Elements?
Please review and consider. Do not hesitate to let me know if you need for me to clarify any of the above. I will re-write on any points that you are not clear about.
    Thank you.

  • No audio in exported video from Premiere Elements 9

I have Premiere Elements 9 and the audio works fine in my editable files in Premiere, but when I export the video directly to YouTube or to a file, the sound completely disappears.  I have tried several different export settings and nothing seems to work.  The sound is just gone.  Any ideas why the audio works in Premiere and not in the finished files?  How do I fix this?  Thank you!

    Welcome to the forum.
There are two places that one must choose Audio in Export/Share settings: initially, with checking Export Audio & Export Video, and then with the Multiplexing Tab, where the method of combining the Audio & Video into one file is chosen. This is the point usually missed. What is your Multiplexing Tab set to?
What happens if, when you chose Export Audio & Export Video, and set the Multiplexing to "DVD," or anything but "None," and then Export/Share to a folder on your HDD? Do you get muxed (Multiplexed) Audio & Video in one file then?
    Good luck,

  • Exporting Issues in Premiere Elements 11

In the program Premiere Elements 11 my video looks perfect, all my images are aligned and put in the exact way I want them to be but when I go to export it it moves the images and messes up the end result. I don't know what to do to make it export correctly, I've tried it multiple times in multiple different option it give me but it just won't export it right. What I've done is edited a person so they're pure black (shadow like) and put a white border around them (altering them with Eight Point Garbage Matte) but it gives me this.

    When Exported
Please if I can get help soon that'd be most appreciated because this video is need for the play we are going to put on at school next week. In fact we first big practice is tomorrow and we really need to to practice with the video.

    Please give the following information....
What is the project preset that you (manually) or the project (automatically) sets as the project preset.
If you do not know, please tell us what you see for Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the readings for
Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Rate, and Pixel Aspect Ratio.
What are the exact export choices and settings for your Timeline content....Publish+Share/ then what?
If Publish+Share/Computer, then what? And when you make the choice, do you use the default settings
or customize the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of the preset?
Let us start here and then decide what next.

  • Exporting for Adobe Premiere Elements

    Hello-
I need to send a few HD (1440x1080) clips to someone who will edit them using Adobe Premiere Elements. My sequence is ProRess422 HQ. Does anyone know if I can export a .mov file leaving it in ProRess? If not, can anyone suggest a good encoding method.
    Thanks

If he is on a PC he can read the pro res files but not create prores files
same true if he's on a mac and does not have FCP on that machine.
apple makes available the decoder free of charge on their website for mac or PC
If they have to come back to you for you to edit further there will be an issue.
the cleanest way for him to output to you if they need to come back is animation codec.
they will need to be rendered in FCP. The other is sequential files tiff or targa if he's on a PC
drop them into a sequence that is set up for pro res and render that out which will get you back inpro res fairly cleanly

  • Exporting Video from Premiere Elements 7.0

My students and I are having a lot of trouble exporting video onto a miniDV tape when I am done editing.  I was wondering if I was doing something wrong because it seems to stop in the middle of exporting just about every time.  It does it on 3 minutes projects and 10 minute projects.  It's really bad when I have to export more than 10 minutes.  It usually takes hours to export video and it's very frustrating because I have to keep redoing it over and over.  Please help!!!

Hi, Stan. Yes, I did see and respond to your private question.
As for Tune Up, I may check it out, at your recommendation. I'm always interested in new utilities.
I wouldn't worry about it "downgrading" the priority of Premiere Elements to Normal. Not unless it affects the program's performance for you. That is, after all, what it is by default.
If Tune Up is doing as well as you say, the program may run just fine in Normal priority!

  • Exporting movies from Premiere Elements 4.0 to Apple TV

I've made a movie in Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0, and would like to view it on my Apple TV. I've saved the video as a quicktime MOV file, but iTunes tells me that this type of file can not be view n the TV.
    Any ideas?

Unfortunately .mov doesn't tell us much about the type of compression used for the video and audio portions of your movie, .mov is merely a container that can hold any number of different compression types.
I don't use premier so I'm not too sure of what options are on offer, but basically your movie needs to have the following properties.
Video codec - AVC/h264 (max profile main L 3.1), Audio codec - AAC LC
    Resolution - 720p @ 24 or 25 fps, 960 x 540 @ 30 fps
    Bitrate - < 5 Mbps
If you open the movie in QT and select 'window/show inspector' you can see what properties your movie has.

Thanks for the reply. It is late where I am so I will just give a few comments now and more in the morning.
    1. If you have not already, open a new project and try the export
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    with Presets = MP4 - H.264 1920 x 1080p30 (assuming a NTSC setup)
    2. What is the video compression for your file with the .avi file extension? The file property appears to include
    a. file size 101 GB and file extension .avi.
    b. duration 25 minutes and 7 seconds
But, when you get to export as cited above, what is the estimated file size and duration? The duration should
remain 25 minutes and 7 seconds, but what does it show for estimated file size.
    3. Is your computer optimized - no pile ups of preview files, conformed audio, or conformed video files? Where are
the Scratch Disks pointed to and how much free hard drive space is there?
    4. Do you have any older source files that worked before for export that you could try in the present situation to compare with this current source?
    More later.

  • Where is the export menu in premiere elements 12?

It's not in the file menu.  I should mention that I am using the trial version if that makes any difference.

Everyone seems focused on your export scroll bar that your workflow question seems to have been overlooked.
    You wrote
I see where it is now, but I don't see the avi option on the publish and share - only avchd.
I am trying to piece together several projs into one, and had read that i needed to export tha dv avi.  will avchd work too?
You may not want nor need a DV AVI file for what you are doing.
If you are trying to use content from one project in another, the key thought is what type of projects are involved. If the project is SD type (standard definition), then the DV AVI standard or widescreen would be appropriate so that you can transfer it over to another SD project.
But, if you have a HD type (high definition) project, then the DV AVI standard or widescreen is not for you. Consider for the transferring file something like
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    m2t H.264 1920 x 1080i
    or
    mp4 H.264 1920 x 1080p
and then bring that into your second HD project.
I am generalizing now since I do not have all the details of your projects. But you get the idea where I am going on this.
Please let me know if you need clarification on any of this.
    Thank you.

  • Export scale issue - Premiere Elements 13

When I export my video, clips which have been Scaled (In Applied Effects) are not matched to the ratio of the rest of the clips. How do I fix this?
Here is a screen grab showing the problem. The clip is supposed to be zoomed in so the model's eyes are not showing. Instead the whole thing is super-imposed over the letterboxing.
    Thank you!

    ctgraphy
We need to go back to the beginning and evaluate
    a. properties of source media imported into the project -
    video compression
    audio compression
    frame size
    frame rate
    interlaced or progressive
    file extension
    pixel aspect ratio
    b. does the project preset set (1080i30 - 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second) match the properties of your source media
    c. before you leave the Edit area are there any black borders showing in the monitor there?
    c. are the export settings consistent with the project settings?
Please supply the information first for "a", and we will suggest the rest.
Do you have an export requirement...MPEG2.mpg, AVCHD.mp4, or H.264.mov? What frame size do you
want for the export - 1920 x 1080 16:9 or do you really want a SD rather than HD export?
We will be watching for further details.
    Thanks.

  • Problems exporting HD video from Premiere Elements 9 for Vimeo (program crashes or video is blurry)

I have a 10 minute wedding video I am trying to export from Adobe Premiere Elements 9 to upload to vimeo. I followed the directions from this video: Exporting for upload to Vimeo with Adobe Premiere Elements on Vimeo to figure how to accomplish this. The first time I followed the directions, the resulting video file was fuzzy and blurry, not at all like the HD video I could view in the program before export. Since then, I've tried exporting it multiple times with different settings, and each time the program crashes when the video is around 95% complete. How can I rectify this situation? This is a wedding video I made for a paying customer who would like their video on vimeo as soon as possible.

What are the properties of what you are putting on the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 Timeline? Are you working with a SD or HD file?
What have you set as the project preset when you started the projec?
    1. So, video compression, audio compression, frame size, frame rate, interlaced or progressive, file extension, pixel aspect ratio...as
much information as you can supply....sometimes the brand, model, settings of the camera recording the video will give us all the
information that you need to set up the project correctly or to verify that it has been set up correctly.
    Case Study....
Let us assume that your video is 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 progressive frames per second.
Project Preset in New Project Dialog
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p

When you go to take your Timeline content to Vimeo from within the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 feature
Share/Online, you will discover that there is no Vimeo choice in that version.
So, what you are going to do is to export your Timeline to a file (AVCHD.mp4) saved to your computer hard drive and then upload that file
to Vimeo at the Vimeo website.

  • Exporting from photoshop into premiere elements 8

    HI,
I created a slideshow in Photoshop elements and exported it to Premiere elements 8 but none of the blank slides with text came through.  The slides just look black on my sceneline.  I was going to break apart the slideshow for further edits, but I'm wondering why the text doesn't show and what to do.  Thx.

Using iTunes you can convert the audio to MP3, which will work in Premiere Elements.
Unless it's copy protected, as many iTunes songs are. (Which is why I buy my music from Amazon.)
To get around copy protection you need to burn your iTunes songs as a CD and then use Windows Media Player to rip the music back to your hard drive as an MP3.
For best results, in fact, download the free program Audacity and use it to convert the MP3s to WAV files, the ideal audio format for Premiere Elements.
iTunes has been relaxing things a bit lately -- but it used to take a remarkably convoluted system to make their music usable in a video project!

    Karl Diewald
I can get you a file that you can get into the Elements Organizer 12 and also import (with no flaws) into the Premiere Elements 12 Editor. But, it comes
    with some workarounds...
    1. Your original MPEG2.ts should be fully compatible with the Premiere Elements 12 Editor. But, I cannot take a MPEG2.ts into my Elements Organizer 12.
For that matter, I am finding a problem bringing any MPEG2 file into the Elements Organizer 12 whereas I am not having that problem with Elements Organizer 11, 10, or 9.
Solution 1. Just import the MPEG2.ts into Premiere Elements 12 Editor for your project there. No Elements Organizer thoughts.
    2. I have found that I can produced a very good quality AVCHD.mp4 from the MPEG2.ts using Movie Maker 2012 in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
I find that I can take this AVCHD.mp4 into Premiere Elements 12 with no problems. However I cannot take this AVCHD.mp4 into
Premiere Elements 12 Editor UNLESS I rename the file extension from .mp4 to .mov.
Solution 2. For goals in Premiere Elements 12 Editor and Elements Organizer 12, convert your .ts to .mp4 with Movie Maker 2012, change the name of the file extension from .mp4 to .mov, and then import the .mov into either Premiere Elements 12 or Elements Organizer 12  or both without problems.
    3. Perhaps a step could be eliminated by converting the .ts to .mov directly with a program such as MPEG Streamclip.
    http://www.squared5.com/
Elements Organizer 12 problems appear to go beyond the excuses of missing codecs. Still considering what to do with Elements Organizer 12 in
general. My old standby troubleshooting of deleting its settings file and creating a new catalog are not working...as well as the maneuver to rename
file extensions involved and right click the Elements Organizer thumbnail and select Update Thumbnail.
Please review and consider the above, and then let me know if any of the above worked for you.
Right now I am looking at your VLC ts to .mp4 conversion to try to determine what happened to you with it.
    More later.
    ATR
Add On...No matter what I do with your VLC H.264.mp4...the file imports into Premiere Elements 12 Edit with green or green cast video. I suspect
the problem is in the video codec that is being used. Changing the file extension from .mp4 to .mov here does not change the situation.

  • Need help saving a rendered video in Premiere Elements 13...

I have a rendered video that I am ready to save to my computer.  The last Premiere Elements program I had was 1.0 lol.  In 1.0, I would select to export the video as .avi and use that to burn to a dvd.  In Premiere Elements 13, "export" is grayed out.  What it looks like I need to do now is Publish the rendered video, but I don't know what to select to save it to my computer for future burning to a Blue Ray Disc.  I plan on using Nero to burn the video to BD.  Any help would be appreciated.

File Menu/Export/Movie is last seen in Premiere Elements 7. Now File Menu/Export/Title remains.
Your export opportunities for Premiere Elements 13/13.1 are in the Publish+Share area of the program. Have you updated 13 to 13.1 yet using an opened project's Help Menu/Updates? If not, consider doing so.
What are the properties of your source media on the Timeline that is destined for Nero for your burn to Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc?
Have you considered taking your Timeline directly to Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc in Premiere Elements 13/13.1 using Publish+Share/Disc/Blu-ray?
Depending on your reply to the above, you could explore for your file....
