Exporting multiple tracks for podcast?

I recorded the voices for a podcast on the first track, and put some jingles/bumper music music on the second track. When I tried to Share>Export song to disk, it only exported one track or the other. How do I export multiple tracks?
Thanks.

Don't know if there's something glitchy with podcast exports, but unless you have one Track soloed or muted they should both export. Make sure there's no Ducking turned on.

  • Exporting multiple tracks to EDL

    Hi
I'm having problems exporting multiple tracks to an EDL.
The actual project file has come from somewhere else, so I have no idea what could have been set up to make it not work.
Basically, there are 11 video tracks, each with clips (some of the clips have been disabled, but all the tracks are enabled).
However, when I go to export/edl, with target video track unchecked, it only exports the lowest track for some reason.

edl is an old format from the linear edit days. it looks at track1 as being "video" and track2 as being "Key". if you must supply edl duplicate your sequence and flatten layers. if you need to get it to another fcp system use xml. if you're going to another system check out "Automatic Duck"

Do I need to export multiple sizes for all standard print sizes? i.e.Say I crop the image in LR to 6'5" x 9' to fit within an 11" x 14" (overall) mat of a framed print.. Now let's say I want to reprint that same image in a 12" x 16" size ... to fit within a mat of with overall size of 20" x 24"? Or will the 1st export be "locked" at 6.5" X 9" (proportionately)?

So, for the first one Export it cropped to 6.5 x 9 - and in the Export Dialog box there is a capability to rename the file for exported output - which would allow you to add something like the crop or intention to the base name of the file.  e.g. for _IMG0846.nef - setup the output filename to _IMG0846-65x9 for 11x14.jpg and output it at, say 300 or 360 dpi.  So, it has a unique name and purpose in your output folder.
For best results, now, re-crop the picture in LR - just open the crop [R] dialog again, reframe the image to the new ratio, 12x16 and Export again - with an adjustment to the filename. e.g. _IMG0846-12x16 for 20x24.jpg
So, now you have two clearly identified image files in your output area and you can provide those to whomever is printing for you, etc.  Discard them when you're done since you always have the original to return to to re-frame again as necessary.
This way you get output sharpening and resolution (in pixels) optimized for your output print size.  Maybe not super important for smallish prints-but more important for larger ones.   Output at 100 quality.

  • I need help. How to export split track for Final Cut Pro 7 Thanks

I need help. I have edited a film and now the company I have made the film for want a split track of it. I have no idea how to export a split track off Final Cut Pro 7 and I need simple language to explain it to me as I am a beginner. Thanks

I assume you have multiple tracks of audio? And the audio is distributed discretely over these tracks (sync sound on tracks 1 and 2, sound effects on tracks 3 and 4, music on tracks 5 and 6 for example)?
Then duplicate your sequence by clicking on the icon for your sequence in the FCP browser and control-clicking on it. From the drop-down menu choose Duplicate. Double click on the duplicate sequence you just created to load it to the timeline and canvas.
Now, working on the copy you just made of your finished sequence, click anywhere on the timeline, and type Command + 0 {zero} to bring up your sequence settings. Click on the Audio Outputs Tab.
Once the Audio Output Tab opens, set the Outputs to the desired number of discrete tracks you want to export - in this case I will set it to 8, as I have sync sound on tracks 1 & 2, Voice Over on tracks 3 & 4, Sound Effects on tracks 5 & 6 and Music on tracks 7 & 8.
Once I do that the 8 tracks appear. I set them all to Dual Mono as I want them to be discrete tracks:
Once I am done, I click OK and return to the far left side of the timeline where the audio selectors are, and carefully control - clicking in the empty space above the lock symbol,
From the drop down menu I assign the output of each track - track 1 to to output track 1, track 2 to output track 2, doing so to each track:
You need to set the output for each track. Once all my track assignments are done, I go to the menu File > Export . . . > QuickTime Movie and export my sequence, but now it is exporting with 8 discrete tracks of audio.
To do a quick check that everything is OK, re-import the movie you just exported back into FCP, and open it in the Viewer and you will see that it does indeed have the multi-tracks, as 8 mono track tabs appear at the top of the viewer.
Now give that QuickTime a name that includes "Split Tracks" in the title and copy it to your delivery drive.

  • Problems Exporting multiple tracks / Mix down - Big Probs!

    Hi Guys,
I apologise for the large holes in my knowledge in advance.
I have asked a similar question before but I got a screen grab that does not appear in my version of STP (I use Version 2.0 I think, apologies, I am at work so can't be totally sure)
I have created a 30 minute project that goes accross 3 tracks with various bits of cut audio.
If I wan't to create one single MP3 of the whole piece I really struggle. The Option to create 'MP3' is greyed out, and the only option that creates the seems to create the single 'submix' file, is the option to export all tracks, buses and submixes etc.
When I go to open the WAV though it crashes, it also doesn't list a duration (which i think is why it is crashing).
I managed to export it at all using the lowest rates in the export menu but when I open the submix wav, it plays it full mixdown correctly but with about 8 empty tracks(?) in the main edit / playing window (not the session style window with all the tracks, buses etc)
I then can't convert the wav to an Mp3 (perhaps because it is not a standard wav) which means curtains for my podcast at present.
I am so sorry for the drivel that I have just written, If it does make sense I would be so glad if you could help me out.
How best to Mix Down my project?
    Many thanks.
    Dave.

    Hi there,
My bad, the master mix was there, it is at the top but seperate so i must have missed it or thought it was the title of the menu, anyway, thanks for your help on that one.
The surround sound issue still bugs me but I changed the setting in 'Multitrack' and it seemed to work, as for the submix track, i see that at the bottom of the project (along with busses?) and there doesn't appear to be any sound file in there, i'll take another look and see if the settings need changing.
Thanks so much for your help as it was really doing my head in (along with the random crashes and slight movements in levels that I didn't touch)
It's fixed now so thank you very much indeed!!!
Here is the file if you wanna listen to it (shamelss plug), it;s a bit weird.

  • Exporting Files/Tracks for sending to others - consolidating.....

    Hi.
I have to send over some files to someone for mixing. Is the best way to do it:
    1. consolidate each track and export - if so how do you consolidate regions to 0?
    OR
    2. Bounce each track individually from 0 ?
Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks, Ben

"Export All Tracks As Audio Files" is the way to go. It was added in Logic 7 for this very purpose. It will automatically create audio files that start from bar 1, beat 1. It has always worked flawlessly here. There are a few points to remember however.
It will export both audio regions, as well as MIDI regions (using Audio Instruments).
It will export ALL tracks on your arrange page. so make sure that only the tracks you want to be exported appear on the arrange page. I can't remember if hidden tracks get exported as well, but be aware of it at least.
Plug-ins on the tracks get recorded, so if you want the sound of a plug-in on there, leave it on. If not, remove it prior to exporting.
Automation is NOT included. If you need automation included, solo the track, and then bounce it.
Aux tracks, used as outputs for multi-channel instruments like Ultrabeat, EXS, etc... doe NOT get exported. Again, utilize the bounce feature for this.
Make sure you name the Audio object of each track, not the track itself. This is because, when exporting, the exported track will take the name of the audio object FIRST, and then the name of the track. So if you have named the audio object "kick drum:, your new audio file will have the same name.
If, however, you named the TRACK "kick drum", the bounced audio file will read "Audio 01-kick drum".
I always suggest, when getting ready to export, save a version of the song with a name like "Song Title-for exporting". Then, on this newly saved version, you can get rid of tracks that won't be exported, remove plug-ins, etc...
That way, your original remains intact.

  • Best way to export individual tracks for mixing on other software

I've recorded a song with my band, it has 14 tracks in total.
We have a friend who is a pretty good engineer and I want to export the tracks from GB to give him so he can mix/master.
What is the best way of doing this?
I've done a bit of googling and found two options:
    (1) Find the GB track in the finder and use the 'show package contents' to locate each individual part
    (2) Solo each track and use the GB share function
I have concerns with both options, with (1) not all the tracks begin at the start of the song so I will end up with lots of tracks of random length with no way to sync them properly.
With option (2) I am concerned GB will do it's own mixing and not give me the raw versions.
    Any advice?
Oh, and a quick other question. If I have recorded vocals for verse 1 on track 1 and then the chorus on track 2, I can click and drag the chorus section onto track 1 but click & drag needs a steady hand not to get it slightly out of place. Is there a keyboard shortcut for this?
    Thanks

how i'd do it ... since i'm going with the export route (and in this case i would definitely go that route rather then trying to piece together all the bits and keep them in time), i'd want to start my (continued) project with everything at their best levels possible, i wouldn't want to waste any of my 24 bits
    Thanks for the reply.
On this one issue, however, I would think that raising the volume on GB tracks prior to exporting to another DAW would have no effect on the number of bits used or wasted. The number of bits used would be an issue during the initial recording, and then when creating the eventual stereo mix. But the intermediary stage at which you transfer from GB to another DAW is "bit agnostic." Aside from transferring the files, there's nothing special about if from an audio perspective - increasing volume can't create more "original" information on each track/bit beyond the initial recording. Rather, it's the equivalent of adding a digital volume level increase on a track which you can do at any stage, like after the tracks arrive in their new DAW, with the same effect.
In other words, as I understand it, increasing the levels in GB prior to bringing them into another DAW or after you bring them into another DAW is equivalent as far as the original (or ultimate) meaningful bit information is concerned. Therefore, you might as well provide the tracks in as unadulterated form as possible, and allow the engineer of the subsequent DAW to apply any digital effects, including volume increase, as needed.
at a technical level, that's probably true. however GB does not output garbage, under the hood it's the same engine that logic uses. it may be a consumer level GUI, but the guts are professional level.
    Absolutely!

  • Selecting multiple tracks for score purposes

I posted an earlier question about how to have the score reflect multiple tracks. What I have discovered is that the Score mode only displays the selected track, although the Piano Roll mode, which I have used for composing, will display all selected regions. I have researched the forum entries and no one seems to have an answer as to how to select multiple tracks. Apple-A doesn't work on tracks, and shift-click or apple-click doesn't either. What is the secret? Previous replies to others' similar questions actually questioned why you need it anyway. Multiple track scoring needs it!
    Help, please.
    Herb

Fox, I appreciate the time you must take to answer all these questions. I did what you suggested, but it still is not displaying the two instrument tracks I set up in a score set. Some more interesting phenomena: I tried merging regions, but got a composite staff that wouldn't work. When I undid the merge, an amazing thing happened: The score showed both parts! But as soon as I selected a region, the score reverted to the one track. The only other clue to the problem is that the two original regions were set up as midi, but the notes were entered with the step entry keyboard.
Any ideas? Should I dump preferences and restart (an old Final Cut Pro technique)?

  • Is it possible to individually export multiple tracks in sequence?

I have a very large number of tracks and I wish to automatically export each track individually. Currently, I need to deactivate every video track and then queue up each video one by one, needless to say, this process is very time consuming.

I wish to automatically export each track individually.
    Not possible.
I need to deactivate every video track and then queue up each video one by one.
    That's your only option.
You can file a feature request here:

    note:
You can save a bit of time by holding down Shift

  • Aperture cannot export multiple projects for original files

i want to export projects (original files) to time capsule folder for sharing
i can only go into the individual projects, select all, then export to my desire location
but i cannot select multiple projects and do it at once, as i have 100+ projects
it will be a nightmare if i go projects by projects

Tks for the reply , the reason I wrote (original) means I want each project name will be a directory name
That is what the Export settings in my screenshot should give you, if you select the images from several projects at once and export using "File > Export > Originals".
Only you have to select the images inside the projects, not the projects in "Projects" view. Move the projects to a containing folder and select all images in the folder, or select all photos in the "Photos" view.

I have been remixing a soundtrack on one track. I have imported in many tracks and worked on them as one project and now I'd like to export them as seperate tracks by giving them track markers. I've been reading the manual and this forum but haven't found anything about it. I also wanted to use Logic to clean up some old vinyl records and export them as CDs. Help please.

  • Export audio track for third-party mixing

I want to export my FCE audio track so I can mix it using Cubase. All I can see to do is to export it as a Quicktime movie, but I think I need to retain the format as AIFF, or perhaps MPEG-4. What can I do?

Use QuickTime Conversion. Change to format popup to Sound to AIFF.

  • Need to export multiple tracks

I have a sequence with 8 tracks of audio.
When I created the sequence, I set it up as "Stereo", not "Multichannel."
Now I need to export 8 separate WAV or AIFF files, 1 per track.
I cannot change the sequence to multichannel.
I could create a new multichannel sequence, and copy/paste, but then I lose all my Track Mixer effects and levels, which would take a LONG time to re-create manually.
Is there no way around this?
I suppose I could open it in Audition... but that will create a bunch of extraneous files.

Yeah ... that's what I ended up doing.
    Premiere really needs
    (a) option to change track settings after the fact; and
    (b) ability to copy TRACK MIXER settings from one sequence to another. Especially Track effects. Ideally with PRESETS...

  • Applying audio fades across multiple tracks for surround

    Hi,
I am working on a concert recorded in surround, and have been given the mixes as 5 separate audio tracks. I have to fade in and out at the end of each song as there is a commentary in between the songs. But I have to apply the same fade to each track (i.e. left, right, centre) which is quite time consuming, especially when I need to change the fade length by a few frames so they fade out equally.
Is there a way to link the fades (I've linked the audio tracks - but it doesn't seem to effect fades)
    Thank
    Daniel

You could also Map the individual Audio Tracks to a Submix Track and then apply the Fade to that. It can be easily done in Audio Mixer with Track Keyframes on the fixed Effect>Volume. You can also use Audio Mixer to "route" or Map your individual Tracks to that Submix Track.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
Note: Audio Mixer will apply TRACK Keyframes, so they stay exactly where placed on that Track, regardless of what one might later do with Clips.

  • Altered voice tracks for podcasts

I want to do a voiceover for video productions using garage band. I have a decent voice but I would like it altered (deeper, less raspy). Are there any other add-on voice effects that will give me a deep, resonant announcer's voice. I have played around with several of the voice effects but it is not quite to where I want it--think documentary-style sounding voice. Thanks for any help...

You might want to play around with the vocal transformer (you have to open the "Details" section and select it as an effect. It allows you to alter the pitch of the voice and the "tone" (that's two different things!). A little change might bring you closer to what you want.
(P.S.: In the end I believe that nothing beats a really good voice, and it's not a question of pitch ... so you might work on your own instead of trying to fix it with electronics!)
(P.P.S.: Typical American announcer's voices sound ridiculous anyway to the rest of the world! )
