Exporting my RSS Feeds from Mail

Is there a way to export my RSS feeds from Mail 3.0 so that I can then reimport them in another iMac at work. I don't have (nor do I want to purchase .Mac for synchronizing), but if there is a way to just export those and import them into Mail on another machine, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
- Marcelo

It's pretty crude but I have an Applescript which scans the Mail RSS folders and dumps an OPML file on your desktop. I wrote it to get a copy of all my feeds for Google Reader - hopefully it'll work for you too...

  • Help Syncing RSS Feeds from Mail onto Iphone

    Hi, Appreciate any ideas on syncing RSS feeds from Mail onto an iphone.
    Like receiving RSS feeds in Mail into my inbox rather than using a separate reader such as Netnewswire/Google Reader/etc.
    Also would prefer not to have to use safari bookmarks if possible.
    Feedback on maybe using Rules to forward RSS feeds to an email address to show up in a mailbox which could then be accessed in Mail on the iphone (I have a Mobile Me account) so thought this might work (and the rule might clear the RSS feed).
    Appreciate the input. Cheers, Tony

    Also would prefer not to have to use safari bookmarks if possible.
    There is an option under the info tab when you plug in your iPhone to not sync bookmarks.

  • Moving RSS feeds from Mail to Netnewswire

    I have a number of rss feeds in mail. I wish to use a different rss reader. Is there any way to move the urls for the feeds in mail to the new reader without doing it all over manually?
    thanks]

    Try this, it is on another post but seems to be a work around, no worries though the iphone has limitations but those limitation come with a better product (in total) thank others.
    "After about a year of searching and thinking, i clicked my way into the solution.
    1) Subscribe to a feed if you haven't already and make sure they show in inbox.
    2) Go to Mail>Preferences>Rules
    3) Click "Add Rule"
    4) Fill in the description how you like
    5) Leave the any drop down menu alone
    6) Click the "Any Recipient" drop down menu and select "Message Type"
    7) Click the "Mail" drop down menu and select "RSS"
    8) Leave the "Move Message" drop down menu alone
    9) Click the final drop down menu and select the mailbox in the level under "Inbox" for example mine is "MobileMe."
    10) Press Ok and Apply.
    So by the end, my rule sounds like this:
    " If any of the following conditions are met: Message Type is RSS Article. Perform the following actions: Move Message to mailbox: MoblieMe."
    You should see your RSS feeds fly magically out of the RSS mailbox and into your email mailbox, which syncs with your phone.

  • How can I export RSS feeds from Mail?

    I've tried this command line apporach from http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20080319094830396 but it olny lists some of my RSS feed urls (and the output-to-web-browser version dosn't work at all -perhaps cause I've Snow Leopard 10.6.4?)
    Is there any other solution?
    Thanks.

    I had to manually 'export' (copy and paste) the RSS feeds by:
    Opening an RSS feed 'message' in Mail and then selecting View/Message/Raw Source from the Mail menu bar and then finding url details tagged with "X-Mail-Rss-Source-Url:" and then cpoy and paste them to TextEdit. Loads of fun!
    _Tip: Don't use Mail for RSS feeds- ever._ Even if you only have a few feeds. When, overtime your feed list inevitably grows, it is a real pain to move those feeds to a dedicated RSS feed reader.
    Use an RSS reader from the very start (like http://www.vienna-rss.org/ or http://netnewswireapp.com/ )

  • Removing RSS feeds from mail in new Safari???

    While I haven't yet uploaded Mountain Lion as I was waiting to observe all the little bugs that were sure to pop up, I did have a software update in which Safari was updated on my current Lion OS, which effectively made it the same version as Mountain Lion.
    I also am disappointed regarding the removal of many RSS feeds that I had, I was also so stupid as to attempt to move forward on my own without further research. As a result, I now am getting a feed from a particular source into my email, which is driving me nuts since it uploads news feeds VERY frequently. And, frnakly, I don't want them in my email anyway.
    So can someone outline a "For Dummies" version of how to remove the RSS news feeds from my email in the new Safari?
    Thanks for any help you can give.

    Found the Answer!!!! Click on the RSS feed logo in Mailboxes then go to 'Mailbox' in Mail menu, and select 'Delete Feed' And hey presto - IT'S GONE! YES!!!

  • Sync RSS feeds from Mail to iPhone?

    All I want to do is read my RSS articles on my iPhone... as far as I can tell the only way to do it is to completely change how I read RSS articles... and pay for an iPhone app.... Surely OS X using Mail and iPhone OS 3 can achieve this without too much pain? No?
    The best way I've seen so far is to have a new application on my computer and NetNewsWire seems to be the only thing I can find where I can sync the same rss articles on both my computer and phone.
    Please help... or please give me some good news that iPhone os4 will have native support for rss and osx mail. Coz I like Mail's RSS, but it seems a bit pointless now that I can't read them on the move.

    Try this, it is on another post but seems to be a work around, no worries though the iphone has limitations but those limitation come with a better product (in total) thank others.

  • Removing RSS Feed from Mail

    I never use RSS feeds, and doubt I ever will. Being that I am very OCD about the visual components of my programs, I am very annoyed by the RSS Feed in the side bar under my mailboxes. I have it set to never update to alleviate the more annoying issue of having a bunch of unread feeds show up as a number next to it, but was unable to find an option that would allow me to fully remove it. Is there a way this can be done, so I both no longer subscribe to any RSS feeds as well as having the drop down not appear under my mailboxes?

    My bad, I found the answer I was looking for. For those who come looking for answers to the question I asked:
    Click on an RSS feed (I only had one, the Apple one) and go up to the mailbox option on the menu bar. From there you can scroll down to near the bottom of the drop down menu after clicking, and click an option that says "Delete Feed". It will ask if you are sure, which I assume you will be if you're reading this, so click yes. That one feed is now gone, however, if you delete all of your feeds the RSS drop down no longer appears below your mailboxes. It was surprisingly simple, I was a bit embarassed it took me this long to figure out
    Hope this helps all those who share my annoyance at the RSS feeds

  • Can I force Mail to download ALL RSS feeds from all time?

    When I subscribe to an RSS feed in Mail (OS X Lion) it typically gives the last 20 feeds published. The same happens in Safari.
    This limit is set by Mail and not by the server, because Google Reader can show all historical feeds, right back in time.
    On Mail in Snow Leopard, when you moved the RSS feed to 'Show in Inbox', it downloaded all old RSS posts, rather like rebuilding an email account. However, the same does not happen on Lion.
    Can I force Mail to download ALL RSS feeds from all time?

    Please ignore this question. Or tell me how to delete it.

  • Fetch unread RSS items from mail, set them to read, save the text to a file

    This is what I want to do, and needless to say I am having a little trouble.
    I wish to take the unread mail RSS items, set them to read, and then save the TEXT of the articles (not the title, time, or author) to a TextEdit file in my Documents folder.
    So far I have Get Feeds From Mail > Filter Articles > Get Text from Articles > New Text File
    This is all fine and dandy, but how do I just get the TEXT and not all of the crap that comes with it?
    Thanks!

    NOw I had manage to clear out the error, but now the problem is when I click on the 'save' button, this function clear out the entire text file for me !!!
    The code are as below:
           if(e.getSource()== vButtons[0])
              try{
               String str;
               String Ky = tArea.getText();
               BufferedWriter buffWrite=null;
               BufferedWriter in1 = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter("Keyword.txt"));
                        buffWrite.write(Ky);
                    buffWrite.flush();
                        buffWrite.close();
                    in1.close();
              catch (IOException ex) {
              ex.printStackTrace();
            if(e.getSource()== vButtons[1])
                  new panel();
                  dispose();
             if(e.getSource()== vButtons[2])
                System.exit(0);
        }     Please tell me how to save the TextArea to the text file, THANKS !!!

  • What happened to RSS feeds in mail?

    What has happened to RSS FEEDS in Mail?  I just updated from Lion to Mavericks and now NO RSS feeds

  • Can't see RSS feeds in Mail

    I've subscribed to a couple of RSS feeds in Mail (multiple times because it doesn't seem to be taking) and I'm not seeing anything about RSS in my sidebar. Is there a trick to getting them to show up and being able to read them within Mail?

    OK... Back again - this is driving me crazy. I see SEVERAL posts of people having the same issues as me, but I do not see any real answers (in posts, Apple support, or just plain Google).
    I do have more information though:
    I now have the issue that RSS feeds either stop updating, update and bring back several old posts that I have already deleted (and cleared from the deleted messages), and RSS links disappearing and RSS showing an error (~) next to it, and finally the RSS section disappearing altogether.
    I have read some suggestions to go into Finder and delete the SubPubAgent.plist file under the user directory (done that, now it has not reappeared), and to Quit the SubPubAgent process in Activity Monitor, and restart Mail (Have done this SEVERAL times, and it seems to "change" things, but doesn't fix anything). The one thing here that seems to throw up a red flag is that the SubPubAgent process shows 3 threads, and when things are going ok, it looks like it has a Virtual Memory usage of ~30MB - when things go haywire the Virtual Memory shoots up to just under 600MB, at which point I will have received the several old posts, feeds stop updating, or all the feeds just go away in the middle of my session. This 600MB Virtual Memory amount seems to be a limit that something dealing with RSS feeds is "trying" to exceed, and Mail cant handle it. But no matter how many times I try to delete messages to bring things down, they just keep coming back the next time I restart Mail.
    ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance for any support, and take care!
    Jeff

  • How to Show URL for Existing RSS Feed in Mail?

    I have several RSS feeds in Mail.  How do I reveal the URL for those RSS feeds?

    See edits above.
    Select the feed / feeds in questions and export.
    You have to open the .mbox of the feed in question>The files inside the feed.mbox>mbox can be viewed with Textedit, command-F to search may help:   X-Mail-Rss-Source-Url
    Hope that helps.

  • How do I restore RSS feeds from Time Machine (OS X Lion)

    I inadvertently deleted some messages from a RSS feed in Mail.
    It seems that they are located in /users/*username*/library/mail/v2/RSS.
    I entered Time Machine and navigated the this directory in a backup and selected 'Restore'.
    It seemed to work but when I went back into Mail, nothing had changed.
    I tried earlier backups but the same...
    Any one have any ideas how to accomplish this?
    Many thanks,
    Jeff

    Try with Mail open and active, then enter TM. You should be in the Mail window within TM. Select the RSS folder and back up in time until you see the messages. Then select the messages and hit Restore.

  • RSS Disappeared from mail since ML

    Since installing ML I have lost the Apple new RSS feed from the mail sidebar. On Lion it was there and would always add any new items.
    Does anyone know what's happened to this handy item?

    RSS has been removed for Mountain Lion.
    You need something like: http://www.etresoft.com/etrefeed now.
