Exporting PDF generating duplicate pages

Hi,
I have a crystal report which includes 4 sub reports. The report contains 9 pages. Which is exported to PDF.
It is working fine till last week.  Now  it is generating around 60 duplicate pages of same content.I am using ASP.NET 1.1 & Crystal Reports 11. Please help me.
Thanks,Rajasekhar

I swear, if someone doesn't come up with a solution to this problem, I'm gonna hurl! HA!
I'm having the *exact* same problem as you, and have been searching for over a day for a resolution - nothing!! Not only is all my text jagged (as you illustrated here), my images are as well, and any other "effects". This is ridiculous!
I just recently switched from a Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard, to a new shiny iMac running Mountain Lion. This is when all my problems started... Same Acrobat version, same Pages version.
I've tried Export as PDF, Print to PDF, open them in Preview THEN export as PDF? Open the saved PDF into Illustrator, then re-save as PDF? Nothing fixes it. So I went back to my Macbook Pro, did everything the same (with the SAME document), and it works great. So I can only preclude that it's an issue with Mountain Lion.
I'm panicking here because I have sooooo.... many documents that I've done previously, that I will no doubt need to re-open and edit, then re-save as PDF moving forward. So what am I supposed to do to fix this?
HELP, someone!!!!!   ytimon001: were you able to find resolution on this at all?

    I would suggest you to observe the properties of the sub report table in a section where the Page Layout > 'Repeat on every new page' property is checked. If yes, then uncheck the 'Repeat on every new page' property option.
    Publish the report again with subreport and test the issue.

  • Printing Services do not accept PDFs generated with Pages

    Hello,
    I have a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.4.1 and I have been using Pages to generate documents which I then turn into PDFs before sending to a printing service for printing. However, several print services that I need to use to stay cost competitive cannot accept PDFs generated by Pages (I believe they said or Quark). The print service printers will not print PDFs created by pages. I've probably spent 2 weeks trying to work my way out of this one and I can't seem to find a solution other than to manually rework all my files into Word documents which could take months. Does anyone have a suggestion for me? Thank you so much,
    Wendy

    I need to use to stay cost competitive cannot accept PDFs generated by Pages (I believe they said or Quark)
    The print publishing industry has agreed on a specification for print-ready PDF. The specification is an ISO standard known as PDF/X for blind eXchange, meaning that if the person preparing the digital master applies the specification then the person printing the digital master can depend on the master to be printable.
    QuarkXPress 7 includes PDF/X authentication internally and Apple Pages includes PDF/X authentication externally through the sysem-level Apple ColorSync filters. The print service provider should inform you of the printing condition she is selling you and should provide an ICC type PRTR printer profile for that printing condition.
    The ICC printer profile determines the ink limit, the detail in the highlights and the detail in the shadows, the gray balance relative to the tint of the paper (whether bluish, yellowish, reddish, or near neutral) and matches the laydown order of the inks in the printing system. If the print service provider has no ICC printer profile for a custom printing condition, ISO 12647 reference data are available from www.color.org and the print service provider should be able to build a separation to suit her process from that. This ICC printer profile should be set as the OutputIntent in the PDF/X filter, whether in QuarkXPress, in Apple Pages, in Adobe InDesign, in Adobe Acrobat or in any other compatible application.

  • Export pdf per two pages

    Hey all,
    I need to export to pdf in 2-page-increments
    I found a somewhat similar script here in the forum but can't get it to work. Must be an error somewhere
    Would someone please check and correct this for InD CC2014?
    Thanks so much.
    // Output PDF pages per 2 pages.  //
    var SectionLength = 2;
    for (var p=0; p<app.activeDocument.pages.length; p += SectionLength)
         with(app.pdfExportPreferences)
              if (p+SectionLength-1 > app.activeDocument.pages.length)
                   pageRange = app.activeDocument.pages[p].name+"-"+app.activeDocument.pages[app.activeDocument.pages.le ngth-1].name;
              else
                   pageRange = app.activeDocument.pages[p].name+"-"+app.activeDocument.pages[p+SectionLength-1].name;
              theFile = new File(pageRange+".pdf");
              app.activeDocument.exportFile (ExportFormat.pdfType, theFile, false);

    Hey Jongware,
    thanks for your fast response.
    In my ExtendScript Toolkit I get the message "undefined is not an object" on line 3 when running with ExtendScript Toolkit CC
    Maybe I don't know how to save a script, if there is more to it, than saving it in the right location?
    Maybe I made a mistake upon cleaning up your provided script.
    Existing script to export PDFs and Package INDDs in 32-page increments?

  • Can large PDFs with duplicate pages be compressed

    We have batches of 500 letters that are identical except for name address and a few other embedded fields. The 500 letters are combined into a single large file for transfer. The file is downloaded to a print vendor then the single PDF is sent to a high speed printer. It is possible the load could be 100,000 letters a day. Not everyone opts in to e-correspondence
    The file size can range from 150mb to 700mb depending on content and images.
    Will Adobe Optimizer find chunks of identical text content to help reduce the file size downloaded?

  • Help! Extending PDF adds duplicate pages

    I am creating a dynamic XML form.
    There are 2 sections in the form where the user may need to add additional pages, which I have added buttons for using instanceManager. Everything works just swell, until I open it in Acrobat to extend the features so that users can save data in the form. After I save it in Acrobat and open it back up again in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, it has taken the liberty to insert additional pages to one of the sections.
    I have checked to make sure that the Min Count is set to 1 and there is no Initial Count set. I did try setting Initial Count to 1, but it did not solve the issue.
    The extra pages can be removed using a "Remove Page" button I added to the form, but once the form is saved and re-opened, all the extra pages are still there.
    When I set the Max to 1 (in Object -> Binding), it does keep the extra pages from being automatically added, but then of course the user is unable to add extra pages.
    Help!

    That did the trick. Thanks so much!

  • Exported PDF Missing pages - why?

    Hi ...
    I'm new to Indesign and finding my way round.
    I have an Indesign document with 3 pages/spreads all sharing a common Master page, with no facing pages.
    I export to PDF, and the Export dialog offers the option of exporting pages 1-3 (so I know it sees all 3 pages), which I select, but the exported PDF only has pages 1 and 2.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks
    Richard

    I'm exporting to PDF Print - here are the key settings - let me know if there are key settings in other tabs in the Export dialog:
    Thanks

  • Export PDF with TOC

    If I didn't miss something important, it is currently impossible to add a table of contents (TOC) to the exported PDF that will show up in the sidebar of the Preview application. IMO Pages would be a great tool for publishing manuals and other documentation, but without a TOC in the sidebar, this is completely useless.
    Is there perhaps any sort of hack to get around this? (the files are XML, so this doesn't seem entirely impossible). Anyone know of plans that Apple might eventually add this absolutely needed feature?

    This is sound, but it depends on what you are trying to decide. The trouble is that the everyday enduser expects content to be searchable, but below PDF 1.4 there is no support for content structure and even if there is support for content structure in PDF 1.4 there are plenty of preparation processes that produce non-searchable PDF 1.4.
    If - or should one say when - the operating system supports creation of searchable content instead of simply supporting Spotlight as a search service, there is still no list for these problems.
    Funny response.
    The PDFs generated from Pages are perfectly searchable. As far as I know, when we search in a PDF displayed by Preview, it's not Spotlight which does the duty. Same thing when the document is open with Adobe Reader.
    The missing feature is not the search tool, it is the TOC one. It's not a huge task (it was available in the old printToPdf pseudo printer driver under Mac OS 9).
    It's just missing because it is supposed to be useless for many of us. Is it really useless, is it really useful ? I don't know the response at statistically meaningful level.
    To be honest, when I saw that there are two paths to create PDFs from Pages, my first thought was:
    1 - Print in a PDF file generates a flat PDF
    2 - Export to PDF is able to generate one with a TOC.
    I was wrong but I didn't cry for that. I may live without this feature. Missing the search tool would be more annoying.

  • CS3:  Export PDF crash...located the source, now what?

    InDesign CS3 keeps crashing on page 86 or 87 of a file I'm trying to Export to PDF.  I know this from watching the progress bar move across the screen, everything is fine until the status box shows page 86/87, then poof, InDesign disappears and requests to send an error report.  I was under the impression this was being caused by the Export PDF settings.  With printer's marks enabled, the Export PDF crash occurs on page 86.  Turn printer's marks off and the crash happens on page 87.  So I tried all kinds of things with Export PDF settings but came up empty.
    Then I messed around with pages 86 and 87.  Removed text frames from page 86 and tried various combinations with Export PDF.  Did the same thing on page 87, and then combinations of 86 and 87 at the same time.  No good...keeps crashing.  I removed ALL content from pages 86 and 87 and the Export PDF still crashes, even with blank pages.
    I finally got a clue when moving text frames to other pages.  Both pages have 4 text frames each.  When I moved the top text frame on page 87 to a different page -- in this case I moved it to page 98 -- the Export PDF crashed on page 96.  Not page 98 where it was located, but page 96. Weird, but it gave me a clue.
    Long story short:
    Export PDF causes InDesign to crash on page 86 or 87 unless the uppermost text frame on page 87 is moved to a non-printing layer. The text frame can remain on page 87 or be on the pasteboard; either way, it must be non-printing to prevent a crash in Export PDF mode.
    Any suggestions?  I've already searched the text frame and nothing out of the ordinary catches my eye.  The text frame is necessary for a book project.  I can't consolidate it with another frame.
    Thanks in advance!

    My memory is not so great after all...
    The bug was in CS4 and it was fixed in 6.0.4. I remembered the rest correctly...

    what version of pages?
    what is the files type that you are trying to export?
    what do you mean unless I create a duplicate file? the whole point of export is that you get a new file with a new format

    Hi baccus,
    Is this happening with this PDF only?
    If it is so, would you send your document as an email attachment?
    I will check it from my end.Please add the link to this forum post for reference.

  • How to export the Apex web page to PDF with click of a button?

    How to export the Apex web page to PDF with click of a button?
    Am looking at exporting the Form view on APEX to be exported to PDF.

    In order to get a PDF, you need to generate a Report....in PDF format.
    If you are using the APEX Listener, you can initiate the download of the PDF by calling APEX_UTILS.download_print_document()  (I normally place this in a Process)
    BUT -- You have to create the Report (under Shared Components) and a Template (also under Shared Components).
    The white paper in my first post gives you the HOWTO "[Create] Custom PDF Reports with Oracle Application Express and the APEX Listener".
    Start by creating a Report (in Shared Components, bottom right) that uses a simple SQL statement like:
    Select * from emp where empno = :P15_EMPNO
    You may need to hard code the parameter before you hit "Download XML" button.
    The XML that you get from clicking "Download XML" satisfies the "Step 1 - Create an XML Data Source" found on Page 11 of the document.
    The rest of the instructions is in that whitepaper.

  • The font weight on exported PDF's differs on pages w/ graphics in Acrobat?

    Hi,
    I couldn't find anyone addressing this, so here goes...
    I just upgraded to iWork '06/Pages 2.02 so I could export PDF eBooks and retain the hyperlinks. Everything is working great, except that when I view the PDFs in Safari with Acrobat Reader (rather than Preview) or on a Win machine with Acrobat reader), pages that have images on them (and sometimes different bolded fonts) affect the weight of the normal article (non-bolded) font. In other words, the normal font will look slightly bolded on pages where there are also images, whereas the weight looks fine (as it did in Pages) on pages where it's only text.
    This does not happen while viewing the PDF in Preview. This seems like a bug in the way Pages is compressing the PDF, which seems to be present regardless of the export quality setting used.
    Has anyone else encountered this and are there any work-arounds?
    Thanks a bunch!
    -Mark

    Hello Mark
    PDF/X-3 (what Save As PDF-X creates) is a standard developed for print with the intention of eliminating compatibility problems for people submitting jobs to outside print services. It ensures that the necessary font subsets are embedded into the PDF. Maybe this is why it fixes your font problems although I've often noticed issues with fonts both on Windows and OS X. Unless you are zoomed in quite close, they can look poor on screen but print quite well. This seems to be an artifact of the viewers and font dependent.
    I'm quite surprised that your hyperlinks work. Given that they are for interactive purposes I would have thought that the PDF/X-3 production process would have stripped them out.
    I'm not at my Mac right now so I can't verify this but you may be able to create your own PDF workflow with Automator that generates the precise amount of image compression and font subsetting you require for your PDFs.

  • How do you duplicate a PDF fill in form page, WITHOUT linking the text (for MAC)???  That is, while still being able to type different things into the blanks on the duplicate pages?

    The Situation (again, I have a Mac):  I am filling out a 5 job application- it is PDF format, with questions, and fill in the blanks for your information- such as name, date, and employment history.  Page 3, is the page used for employment history.  But, there is only room for two jobs on page 3.  The instructions tell you, you can "have as many page three's" as you want.  In my case, I will be putting 8 jobs- at two jobs per page, that is a total of 4 page three's.   I already know how to duplicate a PDF page, simply by opening the thumbnail viewer on the side, holding down the "alt" key, and clicking and dragging the desired page to create a duplicate.  So what is the problem??? When you duplicate the page, the boxes into which you type, are linked.  So if on the original, you type "Job A", into the experience box, it forces the same answer on the duplicate page, making it impossible to describe different positions!!!!  Is there a way to work around that? Thank you!!!!!

    You're probably using Acrobat if you can duplicate pages like that. This is the Adobe Reader forum...
    To answer your question, though: The only way this can be done automatically, without having to manually rename each field, is to use a Template to spawn new pages. This is something the form's author should have done, but you can do it yourself as well, using some code.

  • Exporting or Printing each page of a Crystal Report to a separate pdf file.

    Is there a way to export or print each page of a Crystal report to a separate pdf file?  If possible, I would look to use the family nunmber field in my report as the file name.  This is not required, but would be helpful.  Thanks

    Hello,
    Standalone CR Designer doesn't have the ability but CR Server or BOE does. Or if you have a .NET or Java you could write an app that would spit out one page at a time.
