Exporting png sequence using various effects(ie=3d stroke etc etc

hello forumers.
is it possible that i can do an animation using any type of effects  and then exporting my document as a png sequence, and the importing it into ps?
thank you.

ok i found it.
Choose File > Export > Image Sequence.
In the Export Image Sequence dialog box, set the exporting format to PNG.
Enter 30 as the Frames per Second value.
Click the Options button and choose Millions of Colors+ from the PNG Options dialog box so you can export the image sequence with an alpha channel (see Figure 6).
thank you.

  • Importing PNG sequence from After Effects (or anywhere)

From some reason when I'm importing a PNG sequence onto stage, it's loading all of the PNGs into one frame instead of distributing them into their own keyframes like it's supposed to.
I've seen this problem posted before. Anybody have a solution for this?
I've also seen that people have posted that Flash CS3 HATES After Effects PNGs....how bizarre....I'm starting to figure that out.
    Any solutions?

Well now it's working. Hmmmm. Thanks Jim.
Well, there's something you can do that accidently stacks them into one frame.....I guess I get one brain-fart per month....and I just used my quota.

  • How Long to Export 1080i Sequence using Quicktime?

I just received my first HD footage from a client to transfer to DVD using iDVD. I'm wondering what other people have experienced exporting 1080i footage using Quicktime (as a reference file - not self contained). My sequence is 1.5 hours long.
I first tried to export it using Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60 and it said it would take over 40 hours! After reading some other posts, I looked at the sequence settings and changed something (field dominance perhaps?) from Upper to None. This has brought the time down to a mere 9 hours!
Is this time normal for exporting such a long movie? I want to know so I can budget time into future projects!
Thanks. Sorry to appear such a novice, but its my first foray into this type of footage!
    Jenny

This project was on a Dual 2 GHz Power PC G5 with 6 gigs of RAM. The whole thing finally finished -- but, wow, I was not prepared for a 9 hour export (which, in reality, turned out to be about 5 hours).
Thanks for any feedback you can provide on processing times.

  • Why can"t I export a sequence, "Using Compressor"?

I have FCE HD and would like to export my sequence directly to compressor. But, when I do so...compressor opens up....but nothing is in there. What step did I miss or is something wrong? I should not have to transfer to project to a QT mov or FCP. I am trying to avoid that and got directly to compressor. Right?

Make sure the sequence and project you are trying to export is selected. Also, you may need to click on the drop down arrow in compressor to view your project. I'll be working with compressor quite a bit over the next few days for an EPK I'm cutting. I will try to duplicate your problem and let you know what I come up with.

  • Exporting a png sequence settings question

im in CC 2014 I have a few animations saved as movieclips, if I export at 32 bit I get good results with a transparent background. I was trying to cut down on the file size so I tried to go to 24 bit but I loose the transparency. Is there a another way to get the file size down on the exported png sequence?
    RMS

Not in Flash. You can export the individual images as 32 bit pngs and then open them in Photoshop and optimize there. Flash gives you the export option but doesn't provide much in the way for optimizing the files.

  • Transparency/Alpha Great Mystery (IMPORTED PNG Sequence)

Ok, this one is going to fall under the "I would LOVE to get an explanation of this one!" category. Just when I thought I knew everything about transparency and alpha channels, etc ...
The problem: I am importing a PNG sequence into After Effects (CS 5.5), however AE refuses to see the Alpha channel contained within the sequence. Now before anyone jumps the gun and says, "But wait, PNG does not really support alpha, it just supports transparency!" Right, something I just learned, and still -- quite honestly -- baffles the heck out of me.
But anyway, another PNG sequence exported from the exact same program, imports into After Effects just fine with an "alpha channel" and all. I double-checked, and there is NOT an option in the program to export the PNG without transparency info.
Importing sample images from each sequence reveals the EXACT SAME THING ... both have transparency, but NEITHER have an alpha-channel per se.
    Sooo ...
    1) ANY idea why in the heck AE would interpret one's transparency, and not the other?
    2) Is there a way to FORCE AE to see the transparency of the one?
    3) IF not, is there something out there that will convert the PNG's with transparency to another format (TIF, TGA, PSD) with an alpha? I just don't want to have to re-render the sequences again.
ANY insight into this bizarre-ness would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tim

Ok another follow-up with interesting results ...
    1) The second sequence I have that I tried to batch in PS, did not turn out correctly.  Investinging with a single frame inside PS revealed that it was not simply adding a selection to the "solid" parts, but actually sections within the solid parts.  (To make it clearer, the animation is a zoom out from an open 3D book.  Instead of making a selection of the book, it selected the book, and then various things contained on the book.  Not sure where it was getting this selection from.
    2) In AE, I simply moved those frames in the beginning where there would not be an alpha channel (or need of one) because the book is filling the entire frame.  I then imported the remaining frames and it saw the alpha channel with no problem. I then just added the starting frames as a seperate sequence to the begininnig of the timeline, and wallla ... problem solved.
So I can only surmise that the 3D app did not -- oddly enough) output any alpha/transparency info for those first 60-or-so frames where the book filled the entire frame.  Thus, AE -- looking at the first frame with no alpha info -- rightfully concluded that there wasn't any, and igores the transparency info.
The other PNG sequences did not start with object(s) filling the entire frame, so alpha info was written to the first frame for those.  I can test this theory pretty easily.  I could probably, now that I think about it, even just have created a frame 0000 with some alpha info, and then it would have worked (possibly.)

  • Importing a PNG sequence from AE to PS timeline issue

    Hello Adobe community
I've exported a PNG sequence from After effects so I can stop frame animate over it in Photoshop. When I add the PNG sequence to a Video group in photoshop, it brings each frame in as 120 frames long where I want them to be one frame long each. Is there ether a way of adjusting the duration of multiple clips to make them one frame long ( I know this doesn't work in frame animation mode), or is there anyway of doing this on import? I hope this makes sense and any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for your time

So are you trying to export this aninamtion as a .gif and not a .swf?
Either way I would suggest you re-test a couple of steps in the whole process to see if you can isolate where the problem is.
To start with in PS, are you working on a transparent background? or a white background? must be transparent....
For testing, create a couple of images with a transparent background in PS. Or use just one or two of your layers, save the file, import to Library in Flash, place on your stage, give you Flash doc a non-white color and test. . There should be no border or background around the image...
And if you use wmode of transparent in the html, even the background of the Flash doc will be transparent.
    Best wishes,

  • Why has the image quality of my PNG sequences suddenly worsened?

I've been regularly exporting PNG sequences from Premiere Pro CS6, but suddenly the image quality of the images looks terrible.
All my export settings look correct. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?
    Thanks...

...and now the results are very poor...
And in which way exactly? How do you judge on quality?
My ... settings are ... 792x582 (same size as source)... My Preview File Format is the default I-frame only MPEG.
Your frame size is not good for previewing in PrPro. MPEG 2 uses macroblocks of 8x8 pixels for compressing data. And now what you get with your frame size: 792 pix / 8 = 99; 582 pix / 8 = 72.75
    My export settings are...

  • Can't export a sequence

I have a 45 min Long HDV sequence and when I try to export it with quick time conversion set at DVPRO NTSC it immediately say General Error with no number, and the canvas window turns solid red and say "Display unavailable. Close and reopen window to restore."
I seem to be able to play the sequences with no problems. Other sequences in the project exported fine. When I try to export the sequence using Compressor or QT export it gets about half way through and FCP crashes. I trashed preferences but it still does not work. What's going on?
    Vince

It might be possible that some portion of media or render file is corrupted,
render files could be deleted and replaced by new renders.
Should you trash renders do so using Render Manager (manual III-673), which can be found in FCP main menu>Tools>Render Manager.
If instead some corruption of the original media has occurred you need to find the corrupted file.
Set in and out on portions of your sequence and try export again to see if a specific portion produces the general error again.
Finally did you try exporting as QT movie reference (self-contained unchecked)?
    Hope that helps,
    G.

  • Problem with AE CS5 recognizing png sequence

I am trying to import a png sequence into After effects CS5. It is importing a completely different file! I have tried renaming the file, and re-creating the file, but it still imports another, completely different one. The names aren't even similar. Any one else had this happen? It never happened to me with earlier versions of AE.
    Kissack

Is the file that's being mistakenly imported in the same folder as the one that you're trying to import? What are the names and path of the file that you're trying to import and the file that's being imported?
How, exactly, are you doing the import? Screenshots would help.
    What operating system?
Have you installed the After Effects CS5 (10.0.1) update?

  • Export HDV sequence to QT file to fit on dvd

I've been working on a hdv sequence and exported it as uncompressed 8 bit pal which looks great, though its about 6GB. The only other problem is that one of my green screens I had keyed out and shows up as being keyed out in FC showed up on the export. What's happening here?
So apart from the green screen issue, I need my clip to be in quicktime format to play of a projector screen off a PC computer. Needs to be in SD sizing which the export already did for me. I need to be able to reduce the 6GB to fit to a dvd. What's the best way to do this without loosing the great quality.

Or if you're using FCP HD and DVD SP, export your sequence using Export Using QT Conversion, select MPEG2 and go to Options. It'll show you what your output file size will be, so bump up the bitrate as high as you can without exceeding the capacity of a DVD. I'd keep it under about 4GB.
Also, here's a bitrate calculator to determine what bitrate to use...http://www.videohelp.com/calc.htm

  • Exporting a sequence and getting an Error file too big message

I have tried to export a sequence using Quicktime conversion. It is a two minute clip and I keep getting an "Error, File too big" message. Does anyone know what can be happening?

What exactly are you exporting to? Settings, codec, data rate? What drive are you exporting to? How is it formatted?

  • Naming png sequence with specific frame numbers from After Effects

I am currently using Media Encoder 7.2.2.29 and After Effects version 12.2.1, and I am running it on Mac OSX 10.8.2
I am making an animated sequence in After Effects that after exporting I caught a few things I want to change throughout the piece.  I had rendered it out as a PNG sequence, so I would like to only replace the frames that need fixing.  How can I control the naming convention of the PNG files from Adobe Media Encoder?  Say I wanted to render frames 1 - 200, 370 - 400, and 500-600, how could I set up each sequence so it would keep the exact frame number from the composition in its name?  Right now I am just keeping track of which beginning and end frames I am using and will use Bridge to batch rename, but I would love to know if there is a way to set this up in the render.
    Thanks!

This sounds similar to the problem I'm having when using AME to render frame sequences from AE.  The frame numbers aren't treated the same way like when you just render right in AE.  No matter where your in and out is, it always starts at zero with me instead of retaining the frame numbers.  VERY frustrating and have no clue why the naming conventions are different.   Is this what you're talking about?

  • How can I use After Effects filters on a whole sequence without getting stuck in After Effects?

It appears that, with the options that are visible to the user, Dynamic Link only goes one-way and can't make round trips from Premiere Pro to After Effects and back again.  If I send a sequence to After Effects, that part works fine and I can do what I want and save the comp.  However, even though the comp appears as an asset in Premiere Pro, I am not allowed to do anything with it.  If I try to drag it to a new sequence, it just says no.  If I click "Create Sequence from Clip" it creates an empty sequence.
So how can I use After Effects on whole sequences/tracks instead of just on a clip-by-clip-by-clip-by-clip-by-clip basis?  is this possible?  For instance, if I have a whole sequence where I've neutralized the white balance, I might want to apply a warming filter to the whole thing as a unit.  That would be really painful with even a few clips to keep doing that again and again, and if you want to modify it slightly you have to do it over and over.  If there is a way to do that through Dynamic Link through some hidden option, what happens with the audio?  Would I have to cut it out of the lower sequence and paste it into the higher sequence with the After Effects comp as a video track?

I'm not an Adoby guy, hence you may ignore my reply, but Adobe Dynamic Link is obviously not just one way ticket and in most cases works just fine.
You have already been explained by J-MS and tclark513 how to properly use it and which pitfalls may occur.
So as to apply an effect onto a whole sequence or a group of clips you need to either nest them in PrPro or pre-compose them in AE. Then just apply an effect (or several ones) onto that composition.
So, if you nest clips in PrPro, select your nested sequence in the timeline, right-click and choose 'Replace with After Effects Composition'. Done! Your dynamically linked AE composition is in the right place in your timeline and in your Project panel as well. If you can not treat it as an ordinary footage, there are obviously some mistakes in your workflow.
If you didn't nest your sequence or a group of clips in PrPro before replacing them with AE composition, you may easily do it within AE. Just select all the layers in AE composition and choose Layer -> Pre-compose... (Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+C) Done! Switch back to your Master comp and apply your desired effect(s)
You may loose some effects or/and transitions while travelling from PrPro to AE via Adobe Dynamic Link, whereas you don't while travelling back
(If you start building your AE composition from scratch right in AE and then need to import it into PrPro, DO NOT export one as PrPro project out of AE, but rather choose Adobe Dynamic Link -> Import After Effects Composition... within PrPro)
P.S. And yes, submit a feature-request so that Adobe will convert 'Transparent Video' into fully functional 'Adjustment Layer'.
