Exporting podcast alteres levels

Hello there.
I've been using Garageband for 18 months now to record and edit my podcast.
Although I love the ease of use I get, the only niggle I have is as follows.
Once I've exported my track as an MP3 to iTunes (which I thank upload and publish as a podcast). I have to listen through to the show again to ensure the levels are all correct.
I only use 2 or 3 tracks, one for vocals and the other 2 for music / sound effects. When I'm listening back in GB, everything sounds good. But after exporting to MP3 some of the music tracks are a lot louder or quieter than they were before hand.
Does anyone know any good practices I can perform to make my editing time a little easier.
Thanks

The relative levels in the export shouldn't be different from the levels you hear in GB! If your export is generally too quiet, turn off the auto-normalize function in GB.
It is also a good idea to send your exported sound file through the Levelator (http://www.conversationsnetwork.org/levelator), it normalizes your file and evens out volume levels.

  • Exporting Podcasts

    Hi everyone, please help.
I am in the military and when I am deployed away I do not have access to the iTunes store. What I would like to do is ask my folks to download some of the free podcasts, save them to a disk and post them out to me so that I can import them into my itunes library and sync them to my Ipod. Is this possible, or is there a better way to export podcasts?
    Thanks...

No response? Can anyone tell me if it is at all possible to export podcasts for copying to another machine at a later date; anyone...
    Thanks

  • Embedded video not playing in exported podcast of a recorded presentation

I have embedded video (.mov) in my Keynote '08 presentation which plays fine in the presentation and in Quicktime standalone too. But when I'm recording the presentation with the audio voice-over, the embedded video does not appear in the podcast. When I click on "play" presenentation from within Keynote, it DOES play fine. It just doesn't show up in the podcast.
Is it possible to have embedded video in a recorded presentation that's exported as a podcast?

I tried your suggestion. I record the presentation. Save it and then attempt to export it to IDVD. It works all the way till it gets to the end of the first embedded movie. I then get an error message that says my file is corrupt or I am out of memory.
The computer is 2 weeks old so I do not think memory is an issue. The file plays perfectly in Keynote.
    Any suggestions??

  • Exporting podcast URLs?

Is there a way to export my list of podcast feeds to a file so that I can (1) import it into iTunes on my other computer and/or (2) send a copy to a friend so he can import it too?

I too am looking for a way to 'export' a subscribed list of Podcasts. For RSS news readers, there is a format referred to as OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language). Is there an equivalent in iTunes for Podcasts?

  • Export legal video levels

Quick question — does Premiere CC automatically scale full range levels to legal (16-235) when exporting, and does it depend on the output codec?
I thought that it does, but when watching a test DVD, I'm seeing some flicker in the whites.
Premiere's YC waveform monitor shows my levels going up to 100.  That includes both graphics which were designed 0-255 and video.
I export ProRes, then compress that for DVD with Media Encoder.  Is this the right process?  Or do I need so manually scale all the levels in Premiere to 235 before export?

I should have worded that better.
My graphics are designed up to 255, but in Premiere's waveform monitor they are maximum 100 IRE (actually it kind of looks like 101).  So I think that means the levels are scaled upon import.  If I import a test image with known RGB values, and look at it on external scopes, I see that 255 measures as 237, and 235 measures as 219.
For video, my levels are already legal when rendered by the colorist.  They also never go above 100 in Premire's waveform.  So why am I seeing mild flicker in the highglights when played on a set-top DVD player on a plasma screen?

  • Export podcast at a higher rate

Is it possible to export a podcast at a higher bit rate than 64 kbps?
My old podcasts were much higher quality and I'd prefer to up this bit rate if at all possible.
    Help!

    Open GarageBand Preferences > Export
In the Audio options, 32, 64, 128, and beyond..

  • Export OMF with levels

    Hi there,
I am trying to export an omf in FCP 7.0.3 with levels, but the audio guy doesn't see the levels. He is using a pyramix system.
I have heard that automatic duck has a plug in where you can export to aaf with levels, but this is an expensive program.
Is there an other way to do this?
    regards, Micha

    Dear Nick,
I know how to export an OMF, but my problem is that the de audio editor doesn't see the levels. The manaul says that this should work, but it doesn't. He does see the cross fades, but not the levels.
I am now trying a workaround by media managing a copy of the sequence without video and make a XML file, but the problem there is that the although I removed all the video, the media manager still includes the video in the export.
The audio editor can read the xml file with the levels and the cross fades, but the export is now very big (it is a 50 minutes sequence) because the video is still included.

  • Exporting podcast results in a 40k file and 0:00 length

    Hi all,
I've been using GB for two years now. I upgraded to GB '08 the day it came out and put out two podcasts with no problems with it so far. Today, I'm editing the third podcast I created with GB '08 and I get a 40k file with a length of 0:00 if I export it in AAC. If I export it in MP3, nothing happens when the export is done - it doesn't even show up on the hard drive! This happened on TWO different Macs, one has NO third-party apps installed (it's new). So something has to be wrong with GB. Has anyone seen and solved this problem?

I don't have a solution, but when I get home tonight I'm going to HAVE to install Mac OS X on an external hard drive and put GB3 on there and re-edit the show. I have no other solution to the problem right now.
I suggest that EVERYONE that has this problem should post a bug report with Apple at http://bugreport.apple.com
    Things I tried:
If I do an AAC export, I get the mixdown, but not the conversion.
If I do an MP3 export, I get the mixdown, and the conversion which lasts like 3 seconds (it should take a minute), but the file is junk.
Does anyone know WHERE the mixdown file is? I can't find it. At the very least I'd like the mixed AIFF file (if it exists).
I have not yet tried a shorter length. I only want to try that because previous podcasts worked and were shorter.
I have not yet tried deleting one or more of the tracks.

  • Assigning and exporting podcast artwork

The podcast artwork that is exporting with my episodes seems to be stuck on the same one all the time.  I'm not sure how to place the correct episode artwork for each new episode of my podcasts in the GarageBank window.  For instance I have one GarageBand podcast project, but then I might have 8 episodes (each with different tracks) underneath.  I have place new podcast artwork in the lower, editing window, but it's indicating chapters.
Is there any documentation on how to do this correctly?
    Thank you,

I think it's not possible to make any cogent comment unless you would like to publish the URLs of both your feed and the Store page; this can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image - or where it should be - and choosing 'Copy link'.  Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable.

  • Exporting podcast how to change "Artist"

I'm exporting a podcast using GB3. I've changed the user name to "Anne" but the artist keeps coming up as "Chris" (the former user of the computer), I've also changed the 'composer name' in the preference to "Anne". But after exporting and loading into iTunes, the Artist name still comes up as "Chris". Does anyone know how I can make the iTunes artist "Chris"?
    Thanks!

Sorry - brain ****. How do I make it "Anne" accross the board?

  • Exporting an altered graphic from pages for use in other apps

Does anyone know how to export a graphic, altered in Pages to like iphoto for example?
The reason i am asking is i had a logo i needed to alter.  The logo is a sphere but had a white space box around it that i needed to remove.  Using the Instant Alpha feature in Pages gave me the results i want but i cant get the graphic out of Pages.  Instant Alpha in Preview doesnt work the same.  It removed everthing white therefore making the logo look aweful.
    Any ideas?
    THanks

what do you want to do with your Pages graphics? .. vector graphics VS pixel graphics
A: in case of vector graphics .. export to PDF .. newer vector design software should manage the graphical infos inside
B: in case of pixel graphics .. export to PDF .. open in Preview .. safe as pixel file .. JPG / PNG / TIFF / what ever
C: in case of pixel graphics with alpha channel info .. separate your desing elements on separate pages .. then the export way B for every single sheet PDF to bring it to pixels .. then open your pixel software (Pixelmator / Photoshop) .. load the separated elements into layers .. select / cut / manage your alpha channel content .. marge the finished pixel graphic with alpha into one background layer .. save image
by that way .. my yellow logo i did in Pages '09 .. then export to PDF .. opened in Preview .. safed as PNG
    cheers .. AP

  • Exporting/importing Responsibility-level personalizations

    Hello,
Suppose on one instance I have done some personalizations for responsibility A and I want to apply these personalizations on another instance, but there is no responsibility A on another instance, but instead its name is B.
Does export/import mechanism has support for this kind of requirement.
    - Yora

    Yora,
Does export/import mechanism has support for this kind of requirement. No, they don't have any functionality like this.
For much more information on this refer http://apps2fusion.com/apps/14-fwk/215-move-oa-framework-personalizations-from-one-environment-to-another
//Note Taken from Above Link -- Anil Passi
You have done responsibility level personaliation for OAF Pages, for this resp.
Issue:- When you extract the personalizations, the directory path of extracted personalizations will contain the responsibility_id
However, the same responsibility when created on TEST SYSTEM might be allocated a responsibility_id of 1088.
Hence, you referring to ***** in notes above, you will have to rename the directory from 1032 to 1088. This can be scripted too in Unix.
To overcome this issue:-If you wish to perform responsibility level personalizations against a custom responsibility, first create
this responsibility on production, and get this cloned to other environments. Alas, such forward planning rarely happens in projects.
Blame this on Oracle’ design. They could have easily used RESPONSIBILITY_KEY/APPLICATION_ID in the path, instead of using RESPONSIBILITY_ID. Regards,

  • Export Podcast Not Working

I've produced a Podcast in Garageband 3 and have attempted to both send it as a song to iTunes and to export it as a podcast. It goes through the mixdown and encoding, but then it yields absolutely zip - I've done a search on the name that I've saved the podcast under, but it's not showing up on the radar; it's as if the file doesn't exist. Any ideas? I was pretty happy with GB 3 up until this point, now I'm just annoyed.

Check out AppleCare Knowledge Base Document: GarageBand 3: Podcast export fails without warning when
using Mac OS X 10.3.9 . This issue in the article is specific to 10.3.9.
That article is not entirely true, at least in my circumstance. I found that I needed to update to Tiger to export my LARGE podcast (1:38 hours, 50+ images). I used Spoken Word (since it was a lecture, and wanted to keep size under 50MB) as the setting, but I'm assuming I could have gone higher quality.
I have seen a lot of posts regarding this and I don't know why Apple just doesn't say "You need Tiger" to export big podcasts. There have been endless threads about this and I tried Mono to no avail.
I wonder if the amount of Scratch Disk you have available makes a difference as well. GB3 creates a Mixdown, then Converts the .m4a file in the specified Save location and I'm not sure if you only have a few GB of free space if that may be an issue. BTW, I have about 10GB of free space on my disk and I'm saving to an external LaCie d2 drive.

  • EXPORT at schema level, but exclude some tables within the export

I have been searching, but had no luck in finding the correct syntax for my situation.
I'm simply trying to export at the schema level, but I want to omit certain tables from the export.
    exp cltest/cltest01@clprod file=exp_CLPROD092508.dmp log=exp_CLPROD092508.log statistics=none compress=N
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Think in simple first.. you use the TABLES Clause..
    Example.
    exp scott/tiger file=empdept.expdat tables=(EMP,DEPT) log=empdept.log
In case if you scehma contains less number of tables.. !!
Logically if you have large number of tables, I say this solutuion might work ...all around... alternative solutions to solve the problems.. If you have hundered of tables... in your schema....
Try to Create a New Schema and using CTAS create a tables which are skippable in the Current Scehma.
Do an Export and once the Job Done.. you recreate the backup fom New schema
    and Import to DB (Destinaiton)

  • Export without alteration

    Hi gang!
The iPhoto Export function is a strange beast. I'm having difficulty exporting files out of iPhoto without iPhoto altering them.
For example, I have a pic that is 4.9 MB.  If I use iPhoto's Export function, and select JPEG Quality = Maximum and Size=Full Size, then the resulting file is 12.2 MB.  If I select JPEG Quality = High, then I get a 4.4 MB file.  Obviously iPhoto is generating a new file that is different from the source file.  Is there any way to get iPhoto to simply Export the original file without alteration?
    Cheers!

to get the original file export with kind = original
