Exporting podcast URLs?

Is there a way to export my list of podcast feeds to a file so that I can (1) import it into iTunes on my other computer and/or (2) send a copy to a friend so he can import it too?

I too am looking for a way to 'export' a subscribed list of Podcasts. For RSS news readers, there is a format referred to as OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language). Is there an equivalent in iTunes for Podcasts?

• Help!! "This does not appear to be a valid Podcast URL" -- but it is!

I'm having trouble subscribing to the Vatican Radio podcast (English version). I recently moved to a new computer and resubscribed to all my podcasts. This is the only one that won't work for me.
I've contacted the Radio Vatican webmaster and he's confirmed I'm using the right URL - www.radiovaticana.org/rss/inglese.xml
But when I subscribe to it through either the iTunes Music Store or the iTunes "Advanced" menu I get the reply - "http:www.radiovaticana.org/rss/inglese.xml does not appear to be a valid Podcast URL. Please check that you have entered the correct URL and try again."
I'm able to download individual programs through the Music Store, but it won't take a subscription for some reason.
Anyone have any ideas? I've never faced this before.
FYi I'm using the latest version of iTunes on a MacBook with version 10.4.7.

Plug that URL into a feed checker site, and you get a "mass" of errors. Pass that along to them, they need to fix these errors.

• Posting My iTunes Podcast URL On My Website

Earlier today Wrongway Peachfuzz taught me how to locate the url needed to ping iTunes that I had a new photo, description and info update, and now I'm hoping one of you can teach me...
How to locate my iTunes podcast URL so I can post it on my website and drive my traffic to my iTunes page.
Thank you,

Here's info from the spec:
Linking to Your Podcast
If your podcast is accepted, customers will be able to discover it in the iTunes Store via search or browse. But you can also create links directly to your podcasts and share those on your website or in email. There are two linking methods:
iTunes Store Link: The following link goes directly to your podcast page in iTunes, where users will have the opportunity to subscribe to the podcast. This link can be found for any podcast by control + clicking (or right clicking in Windows) the podcast’s art on its page in the iTunes Store: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=FEEDID
Note that a shorter but functionally identical link is also available: http://www.itunes.com/podcast?id=FEEDID
This is the preferred method among podcasters, because it results in an action (the user clicking on the Subscribe button in the iTunes Store) that is registered by iTS and will drive your podcast up the various automated charts.
Direct Subscribe Link: The following link automatically subscribes the user to the podcast in iTunes. Note that this method fails for Windows users who do not have iTunes installed, so it should be clearly noted that the link is intended for subscription with iTunes.
itpc://FEEDURL
Also note that this method will not push your podcast up the various charts in the iTunes Store. It is a direct call to the user's iTunes client software and sends no information to the iTunes Store. If you want to increase the visibility of your podcast, we recommend that your web site and other marketing materials use the iTunes Store link described above.

• Is there an Add-on to export session URLS available for Firefox like Chrome's Session Buddy?

I would like to find an add-on that can export my current session's URLS (all the tab's URLS) or any previous sessions from Session Manager to copy and paste. Basically it will look like a list of URLS when exported.

Opening ''Tools > add-ons ''and searching for ''export session urls'' brings up a list of suggestions you may have a look at.

• Can I have two podcast URL's? ie submit two podcast sites?

Hi, I have a podcast page on Podomatic.com and a page on Podbean.com, I want to submit both podcast URL's into itunes, can and how do I do this?
Thank you. Mark.

Just submit each one in the usual way as a separate podcast. You will need to be logged in to the iTunes Store. Enter this URL in your browser:https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast. (There have been cases of people getting error messages doing this: if so, try https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/publishPodcast.)This will open iTunes to a pane where you can submit the podcast: enter the feed URL, not the URL of the media file or the web page. iTunes does not store your media, it just uses the contents of the feed file to provide the details and access on the iTunes Store. (None of this will cost you anything). Then repeat with the other podcast.

• Podcast URLs problem in iTunes 8.1

Upon upgrading to version 8.1 most of my podcasts work fine except for one in particular. It gives me the error message:
""http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/xml/730vodcastm4v.xml" does not seem to be a valid Podcast URL.
Please check that you have entered the correct URL and try again."
The xml file certainly does exist, and the podcast stopped updating since I upgraded to 8.1.
I suspect that the problem is probably from the period in the URL, particular the '/7.30/' bit. Removing that gives the general URL could not be found error.
Does anyone know anything about this error and if it is indeed the upgrade to version 8.1 that caused it?

I don't think it's the upgrade that has caused this. I'm not an expert, but the "_m4v" doesn't seem correct to me.
A *Podcast URL* is the address of the feed of the whole programme series, but the "_m4v" part in your URL appears to indicate an individual movie, which is why you get the message that it's not a valid Podcast URL. If I take out the "_m4v" and leave the rest as a URL, I get a different message, one that says "There was a problem downloading "http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/xml/730_vodcast.xml". That would suggest that I'm getting closer to the feed URL. I've tried several more combinations, but can't find the correct one.
I've tracked down the page with this Podcast URL on it, http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/vodcast.htm and the address you gave is the one they use on that page. But it's wrong! Believe it or not, someone at ABC has goofed - medium time.
To expand on the feed that I mentioned earlier; think of it as the "main menu" of the programme, which is updated by ABC with the new episodes. When iTunes checks for new episodes for all your subscriptions, it looks up the "main menu" which tells iTunes that there is a new episode that you do not have. Some "magic" is performed which then downloads the episode to your iTunes.
I suggest you contact the station and point out that even if they think the URL is correct, iTunes cannot find the feed, which indicates that they (ABC) need to fix it at their end.
Let us know how you get on.
Phil

You don't do it on your iPad. You do it on iTunes on your computer. You might, I suppose, on you iPad, try using an app like Instacast or Downcast. They might also work.

• Exporting Podcasts

Hi everyone, please help.
I am in the military and when I am deployed away I do not have access to the iTunes store. What I would like to do is ask my folks to download some of the free podcasts, save them to a disk and post them out to me so that I can import them into my itunes library and sync them to my Ipod. Is this possible, or is there a better way to export podcasts?
Thanks...

No response? Can anyone tell me if it is at all possible to export podcasts for copying to another machine at a later date; anyone...
Thanks

• Changing iTunes Podcast URL

When I initially created my podcast my show name was "Effortless Productivity". Since that time, I have changed my WebTV show name to the "Busyness TV Show". Is it possible to have my podcast URL change so that it doesn't mention Effortless Productivity any longer?

Thank you in advance for your reply.
Sincerely,

Was that you, Roger?
It's tempting to claim credit, but no - that part of the URL is irrelevant.

• Assigning and exporting podcast artwork

The podcast artwork that is exporting with my episodes seems to be stuck on the same one all the time. I'm not sure how to place the correct episode artwork for each new episode of my podcasts in the GarageBank window. For instance I have one GarageBand podcast project, but then I might have 8 episodes (each with different tracks) underneath. I have place new podcast artwork in the lower, editing window, but it's indicating chapters.
Is there any documentation on how to do this correctly?
Thank you,

I think it's not possible to make any cogent comment unless you would like to publish the URLs of both your feed and the Store page; this can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image - or where it should be - and choosing 'Copy link'. Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable.

• Copying podcast URLs

Is there an easy way to copy and transfer podcast subscriptions to another computer? I can right-click on the podcast and show description but I can't copy the URL. Do I have to go to each podcast in iTunes store or webpage and resubscribe on the other computer?

This did not appear to work but thanks for the suggestion. I did export to 'Podcast Subscription Files .opml' and imported that file. That one worked, and I'm set up on another computer.
Thanks again!

• Podcast URL Links via itunes itunes

Hi,
Does anyone know why my URL links on my podcast are not showing up when I download the podcast I've made.
They are there in garageband and work, Then I export to iweb and then mobile me and then itunes, when I download the pod there is nothing there???
confused please help

Classic mistake number one, I'm afraid. Your 'category' tag reads
<itunes:category text="Science & Medicine">
In XML, an ampersand ('&') is used to indicate the start of a code, and a semicolon to indicate its end. When iTunes sees the ampersand it thinks the entire rest of the feed is a code; this renders the closing 'channel' and 'rss' tags invisible, and that invalidates their opening counterparts, and there goes the entire feed.
You need to replace the '&' with the code & -
"Science & Medicine"
