Exporting Premiere Pro project  to Final Cut

Anyone knows if it's possible to export a Premiere Pro project (possibly a CS4 project) into Final Cut 6.0.6 and how should it be done?
Thanks in advance!

Premiere Pro fo Mac or PC?
The PC version captures footage and wraps it in an AVI container. Final Cut Pro works with QuickTime.
You will need to recapture the footage if it was originally done on a PC version.
Can Premiere Pro export an EDL?
It's primitive but at least your shots will be in the right order and length. No filters or effects will be carried across though.

We allready have a function inside Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 that let us to import Apple Final Cut Pro projects... And it could be very helpful when we need to work with Adobe After Effects...
I was working with a film project that needed to be done on AE, so I opened it Premiere Pro and looks great... I've done all I needed to do, and now I wanna get back to FCP to finish my work... But I can't find any function that let me do that...

  • Exporting an hd project from final cut 7

i just finished editing an hd project on final cut 7. i want to know how to export the hd project and of course for the project to stay in hd?

No. It's just being displayed 1:1 on the computer's screen. That is the actual size. If you look at the Canvas in your copy of FCP, you will see a percentage value representing the current size. Note that it is well below 100%.
QuickTime Player has a View menu whith various preset options or you can simply drag the bottom right corner of the window to resize it.

  • Premiere Elements 10 Able to Export XML For Premiere Pro, Avid, Or Final Cut Pro?

Is there a way to XML the projects or timelines out of Premiere elements so they will open in Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro or Avid if I later switch to one of those programs?
I wonder why you can't open a Premiere Elements project in Premiere Pro?

Actually, within a somewhat narrow range, you CAN Open PrE Projects (PREL files) in a contemporary version of PrPro. For instance, I can Open my PrE 4.0 PREL's in PrPro 2.0. When you get several version numbers apart, it might not work. As a for instance, I cannot Open PrE 7, 8, 9 or 10 PREL's in PrPro 2.0, but PrE 9 PREL's do Open in PrPro CS 5.
One thing to remember, however, is that PrE has some features that do not exist in PrPro. Examples will be Themes/Instant Movies, NewBlue FX Effects/Transitions, etc. If you have used any of those features, you will loose them, when you do Open the PrE PREL in PrPro. Note: PrPro Projects (PRPROJ files) will NOT Open in PrE. These same limitations also exist when Opening older Premiere, or PrPro Projects in later versions - some of the older versions had 3rd party features, that do not exist in later PrPro versions, but the program is pretty neat, in that it will tell you of, say a missing Transition, will tell you the TimeCode where that was used, and also give you the name of the missing Transition. Effects can be a bit tougher.
I cannot comment on AVID, or FCP, but I would rather doubt that the PREL's will Open in those programs. Maybe someone with those, plus PrE, can comment.
Now, PrPro does offer some X-program support, with features like EDL's, etc., but PrE does not support those.
    Good luck,

  • How do I export from Premiere Pro CC to Final Cut Pro X?

    Here are my system specs:
    iMac (late 2012)
    Fusion Drive
Processor 3.1 GHZ Intel COre i7
    Memory 16GB 1600MHZ DDR3
    OSX 10.9.1
    Running
    Premiere Pro CC 7.2.1
    and FCP X 10.1
    Hello there,
I have a fairly complex 3:00minute sequence that I want to export from Premiere using XML and then import into FCP X.
I exported and the tranlation error log was too long so I duplicated, shortenened and simplified the sequence and the translation errors seemed much more manageable. I quit premiere pro and ran FCP X. Import->XML And the XML files were all greyed out! I couldnt even select them. I tried compying the entire project file including a copy of the XML into FCP and still no luck. Am I missing something here?

Jim, some people (maybe not that many) are FCP X editors, so it's a good feature.
Also, I personaly find Premiere 10 years back in terms of editing. FCP X in my opinion has more editing features to make my life easy. The last release has also been a great update.
I have been editing in Premiere the whole year 2013, and I can't go back to the "old fashion" editing since i started editing in FCP X. but that's a matter of preference. The problem is that the other editors in my office use Premiere, so XML exchange is a must.

  • From Premiere Pro CS4 to Final Cut Studio 3 (2009)

Right now I work with Final Cut Express, but am considering upgrading to FCS2009 while also upgrading from just Photoshop CS3 to Master Collection CS4 to maintain interoperability with friends and colleagues who use either suite. I primarily work with Apple's software, but occasionally have to work with Premiere Pro files. I know I can go from FCS to Premiere, but I don't want to finish in Premiere. Does anyone know if I can go back and forth between the two programs w/o converting or rerendering as I can from FCS to Premiere?
    Thanks

  • I am not able to export a certain project from Final Cut Pro X.

I have never had this problem before. It is only on this certain project. The Share menu will not let me select anything. I even deselected the render background option and it did nothing. Should I just start over?

I had a similar thing happen to me using 10.0.3. Even though I'd been working on the project, when it came to export the menu was all grayed out, as though nothing was selected for export.
I got around it by going back to the project browser, clicking it, opening it again in the timeline and making sure I'd selected a clip from the project.... then it would let me export.
It's never happened since I upgraded to 10.0.4 and I have no clue what I was doing wrong before.... sorry it's no help, but try everything else before starting again (unless it's short and easy!!)

  • Best setting for hd project from final cut

i'm ready to export an HD project from final cut. i want to use compressor to export it and then to import it on DVD Studio Pro and burn it on DVD. what setting should i use when exporting it using compressor?

If you plan to deliver on DVD, use the DVD preset in Compressor that comes closest to matching your program's duration. If you plan to add menus or other extras, take that ito account when determining which preset to use.
Keep in mind that DVD is a STANDARD DEFINITION format only so your HD footage will be scaled down to fit 720x480 (640x480 square pixels). You can make an HD DVD, but that is an obsolete format and will not play in any regular DVD player.

  • Command to Export project as Final Cut Pro XML from jsx script

    Hi All,
Can somebody get me the command to export the project as final cut pro xml from jsx script.
    I was using the extension builder script earlier for cs6 panel development, so we were using pjct.exportFinalCutProXML("pathname");
Now I am working for panel in Premiere CC so working on HTML 5 panel and qe dom scripting(.jsx).
In some jsx examples i got there is script to export sequence as final cut pro xml but cannot get the code for project export.
    project.activeSequence.exportAsFinalCutProXML(entire_out_path);
Also please let me know if there are any kind of reference available about all the functions and properties in the pe dom scripting for premiere pro cc.
I am using premiere pro cc 7.1, windows 7, Eclipse Kepler.
    Thanks in advance,

When you reimport the exported project XML to FCP, do you get the full project or just the single bin/sequence? If you get the full project then it sounds like you need Premiere help, not FCP help ... have you tried asking on the Adobe forums? If you only get the single bin/sequence then it seems you might have inadvertently selected those prior to creating the project export. Try making sure that your FCP Browser window is active and that you have not selected anything within that window prior to using the File > Export > XML command. If that still causes issue then you might try using an earlier FCP XML version.
    Hope it helps

  • How do I export a project from Final Cut Pro onto my desktop?

How do I export a project from Final Cut Pro to my desktop as a movie?

Can anyone please help me.. when I click on my timeline in my project library and try to export movie nothing happens! and when I  try to "share" to youtube I get an error message stating that it cannot be exported because it contains "no video"... The 4 minute music video that I've created with shots off my Canon T2i looks and plays great....If I uploaded the videos into Final Cut but did not save them on my desktop or anywhere else on the Mac would this be a reason to get this message? I have never experienced this before...the only option under "share" that works is "email"

  • I cant export my Project in Final Cut Pro 10.0

Hello, I have been trying to export in any possible way my 1 minute project with Final Cut Pro 10.0 and have several problems, among those problems as soon as I click under: SHARE / APPLE DEVICES and/or MEDIA BROWSER / PUBLISH ---> There is the following problem that I dont have any idea:
The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.)
in the past days it was working great and now not even EXPORT MOVIE is Working at all, doesnt even show the pop out window to continue to export it...
DOES ANY BODY HAS ANY CLUES ON HOW TO SOLVE IT??
In running Mavericks, is it maybe that the issue?

I forgot to say thanks, though had to delete Final Cut Pro 10.0 and then download the 10.0.9, now works smooth even though Mavericks screwed up the System Performance some times.

  • Mavericks' iMovie won't export project to Final Cut Pro

Upon updating to Mavericks and its accompanying versions of iLife, I do not see where the option in iMovie to open a project in Final Cut Pro X is.
Likewise, attempting to import an iMovie project from Final Cut only creates a blank project with the iMovie project name and then crashes Final Cut Pro.
Is there any way to regain this feature?

If you are on iMovie 10.0.2, use FILE/SEND MOVIE TO FINAL CUT PRO. If you are not on 10.0.2, let us know what you are on.
This sends the iMovie to FCPX 10.1. If you are not on FCPX 10.1, it will not work.
I recently tried this with one of my iMovie 10 projects and it all worked perfectly. Nothing changed in Final Cut Pro X (unlike when using the previous method with iMovie '11). All clips, titles, transitions, audio tracks, edit points and so forth were intact. I was then able to add further embellishments in FCP X. It's a delight using FCP X, given its flexibility and greatly expanded feature set compared to iMovie 10.

  • I need to transfr a project from final cut pro 6

I need to transfr a project from final cut pro 6 to an editor with final cut pro 5.
will they have the problem of not being able to open the file? any suggestions out there?

    Welcome to the forum!
FCP project files are NOT backward compatible with older versions. But you can export an XML file of your FCP 6 project, then use the XML file to build a new project in FCP 5. Check the manual for details.

How Do I Open a Motion (5) Project in Final Cut Pro X?

You can't directly. You can either export a file, or you can save it as a template, effect, title, transition, or generator, that can be used in FCP.
