Exporting Pro CS4 videos to different mpeg formats-no video or separate audio file???

I have Premiere Pro CS4. When I export my video to mpeg-4 format, there is no video. When I export to mpeg-2DVD format, there is a separate wav audio file. Adobe Media Encoder, which I use automatically as the export encoding software, does not seem capable of combining the audio and video files into a single video. Export to mpeg-2 format works fune. When I try to export a 1 hr 20 min video in H.264 1440 x 1080 config, it is a 10GB file. I want the best quality that will fit on  4.7 GB or 8.5 GB media. What am I missing ?

Best thing is to use Dynamic Link/(Send to Encore. Set Encore to automatic and your movie will fit nicely on a dvd.
If you do not want to use DL then export from Premiere with the mpeg2-dvd settings (choose one of the presets or set it manually) with Multiplexing OFF.
Don't forget to set Use Max Render Quality ON.
This output will give you three files. m2v, wave and xmpses (and maybe a xmp file)
Import the first two as a timeline in Encore, make menu and burn.
Using a seperate video file and audio file is the way to go for making a dvd. If you set multiplexing to on then you will get one file containing video and audio.
Encore has to dumux (or demultiplex, separating video from audio) before being able to make the disk. Waist of energy.

  • Why will Premiere Pro CS6 only import to mpeg format?

Hello, so I've been using Premiere Pro CS6 now for only a few months and when I imported (using "capture" or F5) and tested some footage  from a HDV camera using a miniDV tape, I noticed that Premiere Pro would only import to mpeg format. I looked up ways to change this but couldn't find anything. So in short I'm asking if there is a way to change import format so that whenever I do import from DV tape, it isn't mpeg?
    Thanks!

    ...footage  from a HDV camera...
    ...only import to mpeg format.
HDV capture will always be mpeg.
whenever I do import from DV tape, it isn't mpeg?
DV capture will be .avi (pc) or .mov (mac).
    note:
Capture from tape, import file based media.
    Capturing and digitizing
Also, what's the problem with mpeg?
Why are you determined to change it?

  • I am trying to export all of the separate audio files from Logic Pro X so that I can transfer them into pro Pro Tools, however it won't let me do it without the panning information. The option to untick panning is greyed out. How can I do it?

I have exported the separate audio files, but it contains the panning information. When the export pop up window opens, the export with panning information box is ticked, but it is greyed out so it won't let me unselect it. How do I fix this problem?

A brief and probably non-helpful answer: I know of no way to eliminate your large amount of duplicates other than by repetitive, tedious manual effort.
*There has got to be a simpler way.*
I hope you're right, but I don't think there is a simpler way.

Is there a way to export or print each page of a Crystal report to a separate pdf file?  If possible, I would look to use the family nunmber field in my report as the file name.  This is not required, but would be helpful.  Thanks

    Hello,
Standalone CR Designer doesn't have the ability but CR Server or BOE does. Or if you have a .NET or Java you could write an app that would spit out one page at a time.

  • Work flow for syncing separate Audio files with Video files in FCP

It may be too late for me to use this workflow that I want with my current project, but I need to figure out what it is anyway for future reference.
Right now I'm editing a movie which is near completion. When we recorded the movie, the camera's deck recorded reference audio from the sound guy at 48k @ 16bit. This audio also went through an additional set of preamps which added a small amount of noise. So we don't want to use the reference audio because of it's low resolution and less clean audio. The sound guy recorded straight to his deck at 48k @ 24bit, besides the better resolution, his audio is noticeably better.
The camera deck and 'clapper' (I think that's what you call it) were not connected or synced. So the video files and the soundsguy's audio files are slightly different lengths, but at least have a 'clap sound' to manually sync to. And I don't mean that the audio and video files won't play in sync with each other, I mean that the soundguy always started recording before the camera, so his audio files have slightly different start and stop times.
Could I have synced the audio files with the video files before I started editing this project? If so, could it have been in the way that the soundguy's audio would be connected to my video files while editing? What would that procedure have been?
My current workflow right now is I have my finished sequence, I change the bit rate to 24 in Sequence Settings, and start manually dragging the soundguy's files to the sequence for every little edited clip. This is going to take forever, there are 99 scenes in this movie. Anyway, at the end of the day these sequences are exported as .omf files and imported into Pro Tools for audio post production.
I was not thinking to figure this out before I started editing the movie, this is unfortunate, a newb move in a decent production.
Anyway, I don't know if there is a standard for this situation or if I just opened up a can of worms for many possible workflows. Please comment if you have experience in this area or please refer me to any reading material.
    Thanks for your time!
    -Monty

The normal workflow (besides manually syncing up before editing!)
is to have ' some ' way of auto syncing the clips.
So you must have common timecode.
With external audio, you can slave the cam's TC to the TC output of the BWF recorder.
Then you can use BWF / QT merge (one of my apps) to sync them, or use Sync 'n Link.
    (another third party application)
If it is not possible cause you're shooting with a cam without a TC input, you can record the TC output on one of the audio tracks of your cam, and use FCPauxTC reader to decode the beeps and translate that to QT TC, and again use the former tricks to sync them.
It is difficult when you have never done it, but very easy once you get the hang of it, and it saves a huge amount of time to do it right from the start.
Have a look at the FCP aux TC reader here:

Sync 'n Link can be found here:

  • Synching a separate audio file with video

Hello, I was hoping someone might be able to help.
I have a video file but I am trying to sync a audio file to the video.. Not the video's original audio recording but a different file. Basically I have a recorded live band performance and I also have a direct out audio recording of same song (which is better quality than the video recorders internal mic) I want to sync the direct audio to the video.. The biggest issue is the tempos of the video and the direct audio recording are different. Can you set the tempo of the video file to the audio or vice versa? Can this be done in FCE or is this something for Logic Express.?
    Thanks for the help

    This is a BEAR!
First need to know much more and even then, oh well...
    (a) You say the sound from the board has a different "tempo" than the sound from your on board Mic. or camera. Were both recorded at the same time and place? (b) When you say "tempo" do you mean that when you import the sound from the board (that was recorded to a CD?) into FCE and place on the timeline that the synch "drifts"? (c) Are you first finding a common "synch point" to begin with? (d) Your camera was set to 16 bit 48 kHz, right? What are "the properties" of the sound from the CD created on the board?
If you are indeed finding a common synch point - that is, if you are synching by eye and the synch then "drifts" because the 2 have different "properties", then you will have to either use a cutaway every time you re-synch by eye to a common "cue" or use a D.A.W. or sound editing program that allows you to import a "movie" and has speed and pitch controls that you will have to constantly tweak. This is a formidable undertaking even for a pro but can be done. Say you do that, tho. This "tweaking" will change the quality of the sound at best and sound "wavy" at worse, so...
bottom line - I'd try to enhance the sound you recorded in camera with filters and an equalizer in any DAW that you can import a "movie" into like Garage Band or just do it in FCExpress itself and learn that next time you are shooting a live musical event, plug your camera into the board to begin with... via balanced cable. Careful to tape your XLR cable run down well.
Maybe a sound engineer might be able to help more. Ask on a Pro Tools or Logic board?
    Good Luck -
    B.S.

  • Export large (huge) video in separate "chunks"?

FYI: Post written on December 2nd, 2014.  I'm fully up-to-date with all the software.
So, I am recording a day-and-a-half worth of presentations.  The video will total out to be about 12 hours or more.  I am recording presentations by various professors on different subjects.  12-hour-video is worthless to a normal sane person.  I want to cut the video into sections and then export to Vimeo.  Ultimately I would like to slice-up everything into 15-20 minute sections.  Is there an easy way, say "chapters", that I can setup in FCPX and then click "Export" and export out 40-or-so videos?  I'd like to call a section "Greg-1" and "Greg-2" and have FCPX generate Greg-1.mp4 and Greg-2.mp4, etc, if this makes sense.
    Your advice is highly appreciated!

  • Exporting movies or videos but no audio (sound)

I recently bought the quicktime pro 7 which I was told by comp.usa, would work. It took me awhile to export the video to my Ipod but still can't get any audio. Anyone have any solutions? They made it sound so easy at the store, lol.

I had the same problem as you. I tried exporting my movies but quicktime bailed on me so I decided to give Videora a shot and it works. I converted my .avi to .mp4 and then manually add the .mp4 movie into my iPod. It comes on just fine. Sound and video just works great.

  • How do I copy different parts of the page into separate pdf files?

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and an assortment of very large pdfs that I want to make into about a thousand individual pdfs.  The pages contain text and I want to be able to copy parts of the page into separate different pdfs.  It would be really nice if I could split up the page into the required sections by highlighting all the different sections on the page and then save each section to individual pdfs all at once.  Acrobat has so many features that I am hoping that it can do something like this.  Thanks  Anewbie282

With the number of pages you are talking about, there is no real easy solution. However, try extracting the page(s) you want in a new file. After the extracted file exists, try using the object select tool to remove the parts you do not want. You might find using the redaction tool to zero out the parts you don't want might work better. Unfortunately, a PDF is not a word processor type data file and the editing is likely not going to be easy.

  • ITunes treats video's as audio files, won't play video only audio

    Hi,
I have the latest iTunes version & the latest OS X lion updates. Late 2009 27" iMac, intel core duo 2, 3.06 ghz.   Forgive me if this comes across as rude, I'm used to being able to find my own solution to problems, and this has been frustrating me on and off for years.  For as long as iTunes has had music video's and air play available I have the problem of my music videos, movies or video files of any type (all purchased for iTunes store) will only play the audio, no video.  The old work around was to disable 'look for remote speakers' and then the video's would play fine (i googled it again to make sure there wasn't a newer work around).  However that is not an option now, as iTunes automatically looks for airtunes speakers.  The only work around I have found is to disable my network connection in system preferences, then go to iTunes, tell it to try and connect to the remote speakers.  Once it fails to find the speakers, all video files work perfectly. Once the network is re-enabled its a 50-50 shot that the fix will work for a while before the problem returns. I have had this problem in pretty much every version of iTunes sense they released music videos.  It's not a constant problem either, sometimes videos play fine, most of the time they don't without the workaround. (the problem was present in Snow leopard, leopard and I want to say Tiger, but its hard to remember about Tiger.)  I have submitted this problem in the 'submit feedback for iTunes' several times and nothing.  I am hoping one of you smart people out there might have an idea for a permanent fix.  I wanted to send an email to apple support, but they say I must purchase support because my hardware is 'out of warranty' even though its a software problem, so they are no help.  Any help or suggestions you may have are extremely appreciated.
    Thank you,
    AcidBurn003

    Anyone have any suggestions?

The file will also be available for download tomorrow (November 20) on Adobe.com, as will the readme (at http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/premierepro/releasenotes.html). In the meantime, here is the text of the readme.
We're really excited about this update, especially considering we released CS4 just one month ago. To force an update, choose help --> find updates from any Adobe application. The AME update that releases with this update is required as well.
Important note: if you are using the Elemental Technologies RapiHD plug-in, you must update to the latest version in order to use Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 4.0.1. You can update the plug-in by visiting the Elemental Technologies web page: http://www.rapihd.com/?q=node/129

  • Premiere Pro CS4 does not import EX1 files longer than 1 hour

I had to record a long speech and used a Sony XDCAM HD EX1 camera with a 32 Gb and a 16 Gb SXS cards. The speaker paused after 1h 26 min. I stopped the recording and waited until the green light that allows recording the segment came on. Later I recored smaller segments.
I copied all the recorded files to the PC hard disk ( Intel Quad Core 2.4 Ghz with 3.25 GB RAM with XP Proofessional SP3).
I used Sony Clip browser to watch the clips and all of them were perfect. Then I opened premiere Pro CS4 4.21 and I wanted to import this 27 GB file. In the media browser appeared only one mp4 file. All the short ones where imported normally but the big one freezed premiere and the only way to close premiere was with the windows task manager.
I checked again in the Sony XDCAM clip browser version 2.6 and you can see it perfectly. There was a detail, though: in the lower part of the preview window I saw 6 marks. When I checked the file in the disk, I found that the 27 Gb file was separated in 7 parts. Each of them was 3.51 Gb and the last one 2.5 Gb. That means that the file was cut in pieces that were less than 4Gb supposed max file lenght.
I tried many ways to import and no result. The I used the "export " of the sony clip browser. There is one choice that is "MXF for XDCAM HD". When I chose this item another panel appeared and showed a 1440 X 180 59.94i 25Mbps choice. I took it and after some time it created the 27 Gb file that I could import it normally with 4 audio tracks. But there is a drawback a "media concept" logo appeared to remeber to "buy" the program.
Anyhow, the question is: How can I import to Premiere CS4 a MP4 file created by a Sony EX1 HD camera whose lenght is more that 1 hour long ?
    Thanks
    Wolfgang

I think  is the contrary because the clip browser copies all the foleders needed. I got this opinion from another forum that copies into Final Cut:
"My workflow is to create a hard drive folder for the project, then use Clip Browser to import the clips from the card. I review the clips, labelling them, adding logging notes, setting the status and putting in essence marks as needed (the number of characters available for the essence mark description is fairly limited). I then open FCP, create and save a new project then call up XDCAM Transfer. I select the project folder and it will pull in all the clips. I then filter for OK status, occasionally create subclips then import. The clips come over to the bin, with their names and with the essence marks converted to markers. Obviously there are backups taken - I've not mentioned them."

  • Premier Pro CS4, not recognizing .mpg or .m2ts files

Hello, I downloaded the 30 day trial of Premier Pro CS4.. So far it works great other than the following:
Cannot recognize .mpg or .m2ts (avchd "high def") files... It recognizes only .wma files.  Is this because I have the "free" trial
version? My currect Premiere Elements 7 reads all the above files with no trouble.

OK, I good with that... but what's the point of trialing if you cannot manipuate videos ??  I'd hate to spend the $700+ without being comfortable with Premier Pro CS4.   Allright, I guess I'll have to make .wma files to test.
    Thanks for your feedback!
