Exporting raw XDcam clips for non-user

I need to export some raw EX-1 footage for a user that doesn't have FCP and works on Windows XP. I found a similar question and a possible answer: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10741386&#10741386
Is there another way via FCP that I could do this?
What if I put each clip into a sequence, about 20 clips, with 2-3 seconds of black between the clips, then outputted the whole sequence using H.264 compression.
Is H.264 my best compression for Windows users?
About delivery. Is it best to put this on a DVD or on a little ole flash drive?

I'm waiting for him to reply to my email, but the way it stands now is; he's asked for raw clips of some motorcycle roadracing that we've shot. He wants to put together a basic demo reel of his talents on the track. Don't know what he's going to edit this on, only that he'll be working in Windows.
The reason I'm asking now is that we've sent raw clips to clients before and they had difficulty working/viewing the clips until they upgraded FCP, even if they're on a Mac. I'm just wondering what to convert these raw clips into for universal workability.

Report Export - Spreadsheet not working for one User: ECC6, SAPGUI710

Hi,
Our setup: SAP ECC6, Solaris10, Oracle 10g, SAPGUI Patch 9
Normal download like List ->export ->Local file is working
But when user click excel icon (list ->export->spreadsheet) it is not working and even it is not giving any error message.
Only one user ID we are getting problem, all other user ids are ok.
There is no issue with his work station or SAP GUI patch level as for other user id on his workstation export function is working fine. One more info with this problematic user id export function is not working in any workstation.
Any thing we need to do with user parameters/user settings or authorization????
Anyone faced this problem eralier . . .

It is not hte problem with workstation, as for other user ids on his workstation working fine. Also with his user id on other machines also not working.
Regarding trace in ST01, how to switch the trace for other users as there is no user selection option???
Is it ok if I procedd as below:
1. ST01 -> Edit menu ->Write to database
2. Selected all trace components
2. General Filters ->under "Trace for User Only" I give this problematic user id.
3. From menu "Goto" ->"Save Trace file in" I give this user id, client and time
But I am getting following message when I click "Analysis"
No records that correspond to these search criteria found

Export photos & data for non-users of CS or LR?

I have a number of wildlife photographs that I would like to make available to staff to help in field identifications. They do not have access of LightRoom or CS5. Is there a plug-in or other software that can capture the key words and EXIF data and make it available thru MS Access or Excell?

I don't know of any plug-in but you could do it in the Print Module of Lr by using the <Photo Info> feature (right side of the print Module). The Photo Info will appear below the image.
When you click on the small triangles besides the word "Filename" a fly-out menu appears. You can either choose one of the preset metadata (for instance "title" or "caption") or create a custom Info by selecting <Edit> at the bottom of the fly-out menu. The Edit-menu looks like this and you can select any combination and you can also insert custom text.
When you are done with Photo Info you can either print the image with the photo info or you can select <Print to JPG> and create a JPG of your image with the data that you selected in <Photo Info>.
If you enter the required field information data into - for instance - the caption field (in the Library Module) this info would appear in the JPG below the image when you select <Caption> in <Photo Info>.

Export-CSV Not working for a user

Hi Guys,
Here's a good one for you. I have a client who is trying to run the script Get-ScheduledTasks.ps1 with the option to export-csv. So he's running .\get-scheduledTask.ps1 | Export-CSV C:\schedtask\schedtask.csv The script runs just fine but doesn't output
to the csv it just displays the output in the ISE console window. It does this if he's logged onto his laptop, the server itself, as him or as another local account.
Here's the weird thing I can run the script just fine on both my laptop, and the server, logged on as myself or as the same local user he tried to run the script on and it works just fine. There are no errors when he runs the script it just refuses to output
to the CSV file for him, no matter who he's logged on as.
If anyone has come across this before and knows why.

If you carefully read the script you posted it clearly states that it outputs nothing.
Somewhere you are doing two different things.
I suggest getting an analyst to follow both of you around and discover what you are doing. One of you is a bit deluded about what is happening.
Prepare yourself for a big embarrassment.
Here is what it says in the directions for the script you posted the link for:

Nothing
There is no output to send to a CSV.
The internal code does the following:
$tasks = & schtasks /query /s $ComputerName /fo csv /v | ConvertFrom-Csv
See - no output.
THen it does this:
Send-MailMessage -Body $TasksInError -BodyAsHtml -From [email protected] -SmtpServer mysmtpserver.mydomain.com -Subject "Scheduled Tasks Report - $ComputerName" -To [email protected]
See - still no output.
That is all there is in your script. Go back and retest and pay close attention to what you are doing.

*** FCP exports a stuttering clip for the web - help.

I'm exporting a clip and it stutters at 2 specific points about 2/3 of the way through. This happens in the same spot no matter how often I encode it. I checked the original file in the timeline and there is no stutter hiccup at all.
I've trashed FCP and QT preferences and re-started but the problem still persists. Can anyone suggest how I may solve this? For reference, the clip in question is here: http://www.cloudninecreative.com/trailers/adtrailer.html

First off...WOW DUDE! That is an AMAZING wedding video! I am really impressed. Holy cow...I wish mine looked that good. Well, mine was filmed by Uncle Larry, but let's not go there. I have seen my friends wedding video and...I have worked on wedding videos...and...they don't compare. Nice.
Second off...what camera did you use to get such GREAT slow motion? HVX? GREAT slow motion, good colors. I am really impressed. Great camera work on that.
We film in HDV with a Sony HVR-Z1U. Nearly every frame is colour-corrected and some have filters applied. Shot with a hand-held steadicam.
Third off...and this is a doozy...where did you get that music? Sounds like a movie soundtrack. We are all big on paying for your music, cause it will sting you. Just curious.
The music is from a film trailer, but just meant for the couple. I know the music thing is a big issue, you just can't get the same impact with royalty-free music IMO.
Now...the stutter...is that when they are leaving the church? You see the low angle of the steeple, then a tilt down that cuts and repeats itself, THEN you cut to the street? that's odd...and you say it is not on the master...
Trash renders...re-render and try again?

Guidance needed for non user ... so to speak...

First off, I know nothing of value regarding wireless through VZ.
So if this is not a proper place to post, perhaps you can advise, and will move over there.
While we have a cell phone, it is only for usage when on a trip out of town ... and we do not use it even at home ..... except to 'burn' off the minutes now and then, rather than losing them.
We use a satelitte service for our internet. Have used it for last 4-5 years; but recently read something that leads me to believe that perhaps a cell phone may be a better option.
Why a better option ... because the satelitte service, while being faster than dialup, is not that much better ... now that the places where the feed goes up and down has become over crowded with users; versus years ago when it was not crowded ... and to try to get the satelitte company (WildBlue) to move our account is ignored.
Our fee with WB is 50.00 per month.
So am open for education ... not only in the poor service addressing, but also fees.
Our cell phone fee is 10.00 per month ... "Prepay". As to how many minutes that gives us, don't really know because we have never used them all up ... and the total minutes keep building up each time we send in our 30.00 dollars.
I did once, a few years ago, acquire the necessary program and hook-up stuff to use the cell phone for modum when on the road.
At home, my desktop and laptop are wireless, and wireless router and modem that WB provides.
Wife's desktop, older Dell, is hooked up to the system via wire into the router.
Sorry to be so wordy, but trying to post stuff you may need toknow.
So, can someone educate me please regarding if there is any advantage to switch over to VZ ... our carrier in our town ... speedwise and or possibly total fees based on what I reveal above.

As soon as we go to the city again, I plan on just that ... going to the VZ 'store'. The community we live in, all 3k of folks ... no stoplights, etc. ... is remote and isolated, as is much of America. Seems that only the folks in the big metropolis units get all the bells and whistles of these **bleep** companies.......even though our community has ALL the Fed. Govt. offices in it.
As a result of that fact, the only access I have, as a former DSL user, is wireless ... which is 'probably' about 1/3 to 1/2 faster than dialup. I got spoiled with DSL, and curse every day when on the internet. Thought satelitte would solve the problem ... but does not ... only more $$ out the door for lousy results ..... due to latency of course.
So when I read about EVDO, it appealed.
But now, after all this time, I am hearing that I may not gain that much to justify all the extra charges. Our 'little' cell phone runs us 10.00 per month ... and we NEVER use the minutes provided.
I just do not see any speed advantage by changing.
So I am at a standstill...........and am thinking of forgetting it all as not worth changing ... and letting the cell phone minutes die a death by not renewing the quarterly charges...... especially since we discovered on our last RV trip that all we need to do to connect for messages, is park behind the motel complex, and use the wireless laptop to signin on a unsecured wireless connection. How to get webi data into dashboard for non-users of webi.

I need to find a way to get data from a WebIntelligence Report (essentially 3 numbers: Average This Year, Average Last Year and Target This Year (eg, 40, 63, 55)) into a dashboard, where the data is refreshed each day. The resulting dashboard will be published on my external web site where anyone can access it. It is essential that a connection to the webi server is not required, so I can publish the report data to a text file on a network drive and pick it up from there. The data will change daily so this must be reflected in the dashboard.
Webi has no capability of saving to XML, so it's excel, text, csv archive or PDF only.
I have been playing with the "From Text" option in the Data tab, but changes to the data do not show when the .swf file is run. When in dashboard mode, I can click on preview to show the dashboard and the data doesn't change, however when I exit preview, the data is updated in the spreadsheet of the dashboard. It is just never reflected when the dashboard is displayed. I have dicked the refresh ever 1 minute, refresh data when opening the file, overwrite existing cells options in the External Data Range Properties page for the From Text option and am looking at the data via both a Grid object and an Spreadsheet object.
Could anyone please suggest what I am doing wrong, or anything else I may be able to try instead.

Redirect emails for non-users

We are in the process of migrating to Exchange Online. Our current Exchange provider allows us to create a "contact" which can be emailed internally and externally and those emails are redirected to the external email. For instance, we outsource
our accounting to an agency. They do not have an email account on our mail server. However, we have created a redirect where if anyone (internally or externally) emails to accounting@ company.com it automatically goes to the accountant's personal external
email mailbox. How do I do this on Exchange Online?

What you want is for the rule that determines how the junk filter works to be evaluated before the redirect rule instead of after. You cannot directly tell Mail to do this (the junk rule is always evaluated after all the other rules), but you can define a rule of your own that mimics the one used by the junk filter and place it anywhere on the rules list.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail and click the Advanced button. Take note of how that rule is defined, define one of your own that does exactly the same, and place it above the redirect rule, so that it's evaluated first. All incoming messages that don't satisfy the criteria of this rule will remain in the Inbox and be processed by the subsequent rules, which I believe is exactly what you want.

Export choice for non-compressed clip backup

I'm ripping some of my movie DVDs with songs in them and editing out all the content other than the songs and creating a new "song-only DVD".
If I want to dispose of the original movie DV Streams (to save storage space) and just keep the song clips for a future "greatest hits" song DVD to re-edit in FCP, should I export the individual song clips in "Quicktime Movie" or DV Stream format? Test exports seem to show they are about the same size, would one be better than the other to keep the original quality?

That's what I originally assumed, but someone I know with a long history in FCP thought DV stream was the way to go. I agree with your take though, that the QT "Conversion" must be adding some additional compression.
The strange thing is that I do essential the same parameters for the export, the display size in QT Pro is 640 x 480 for DV stream and the display size for QuickTime Movie is 720 x 480 and is displayed slightly freakish wide (both say have the same FORMAT info though in the QT Movie Inspector). They both seem to Import back into FCP ok.

XMP files for non RAW files **PLEASE!!**

This is useless if I cannot write the image adjustments that I make out to matching XMP files.
How can I move files/folders between machines???
So PLEASE add XMP sidecar file support for non RAW formats.
OR give us the ability to "export" a folder or files.. like in Aperture.

Since I did not see the XMP files I assumed...
I just did a test and sure enough, the XMP data is written into the JPG file!
On my mac I copied the file to another name, imported it and the changes were there as well as the ability to modify the changes.
Further, for the geeks like me, I did a
"strings file.jpg | more"
command and was able to see the XMP data.

Export XDCAM clips into Final Cut

I'm working on a project where all clips were supplied in XDCAM format. I exported using XDCAM EX clip browser so that now they are in a program called XDCAM transfer with an mxf extension. Now I need to get them into Final Cut(7) but can't figure out how. Can anyone help .

In Final Cut Pro, choose File > Import > Sony XDCAM...
That will cause the XDCAM Transfer app to open with hooks into your FCP project. Use XDCAM Transfer to log your selects and press the Import button at lower right. The clips will be imported to the Import Location and appear in your project's Browser window in FCP.
Note that the Import Location for clips ingested through XDCAM Transfer is not linked to the Capture Scratch location you choose in FCP's System Settings. XDCAM Transfer has its own set of application preferences, so you'll want to select an appropriate import location by switching to tehe XDCAM Transfer application and choosing Preferences from the application menu ... the location is set under the Import tab of that Preferences window.
In future, if you prefer, you can bring the XDCAM EX footage in directly from the original media / folder structure using FCP's own Log and Transfer interface, you just need to install the free Log and Transfer plugin available from Sony's website. Note that this does not work with XDCAM HD / MXF wrapped media, only XDCAM EX / MP4 media.

I wonder how a non-technical business analyst can use Report Builder 3 to create ad-hoc reports/analysis with list of parameters based on other data sets.
Do they need to learn TSQL or how to add and link parameter in Report Builder? then How they can add parameter into a report. Not sure what i am missing from whole idea behind Report builder then?
I have SQL Server 2012 STD and Report Builder 3.0 and want to train non-technical users to create reports as per their need without asking to IT department.
Everything seems simple and working except parameters with list of values e.g. Sales year List, Sales Month List, Gender etc. etc.
So how they can configure parameters based on Other data sets?
Workaround in my mind is to create a report with most of columns and add most frequent parameters based on other data sets and then non-technical user modify that report according to their needs but that way its still restricting users to
a set of defined reports?
I want functionality like "Excel Power view parameters" into report builder which is driven from source data and which is only available Excel 2013 onward which most of people don't have yet.
So how to use Report Builder. Any other thoughts or workaround or guide me the purpose of Report Builder, please let me know.

How to allow access to winrs for non-admin user?

I have Windows Server 2012 (and Server 2008, but it is next priority) to monitor it using txwinrm. txwinrm library internally is using WinRS protocol. I have to monitor it using least privileged user, but don't know how to configure access for him.
All I managed to do - is to configure remote Powershell session for my user, but it's look like that winrs and powershell sessions have different security descriptors:

I can not recreate the erroe you posted, and please also post the screenshoot in your convenience.
I tested with a non-domain user but has the local admin permission of the remote computer, and this worked, before running the remote cmdlet in powershell, I also configured the TrustedHosts.
In addition, the access denied could be also caused to the Protocol Filtering on the remote server, for more detailed information, please refer to this thread:
winrs error:access is denied

SQL tab not working in V2.1 EA1 for non-DBA users -- how to fix?

In v2.1 EA 1 the tab to show the SQL script (DDL) in the object browser is not working for non-DBA users. In the prior version, these users would see a message about DBMS_METADATA and then the message would indicate that an "internal generator" would be used to generate the DDL script. After that brief message the DDL would show up as expected. This doesn't seem to be the case in the newest version.
I issued the following two grants to a particular user which worked, but I am reluctant to issue the grants to "PUBLIC".
SQL> grant execute on DBMS_METADATA to XXXXX;
SQL> grant select_catalog_role to XXXXX;
So, my questions are:
1) Will the old functionality (that didn't require these privileges) be added to V2 at some point?
2) What security implications are there for issueing the above grants to PUBLIC?
NOTE: After granting execute on the DBMS_METADATA package, it still didn't work. I left that grant in place and granted SELECT_CATAOG_ROLE, so I can't say for sure that the 1st grant was required.

An OEM account is separate from the database account. You need to use OEM UI to create an OEM account, however, for certain tasks to be done in the databases which OEM is monitoring they will also require separate database accounts within those databases. For example, to view the performance tab in OEM UI, a database account is required.
OEM only has two types of users, i.e. Super Administrator and Administrator, but don't go by the names. You can grant an OEM 'Administrator' account access to specific targets and what they can do within OEM, such as only viewing reports, targets, and so on. For access within a database, the user created need not be a DBA either.

Read Only for Non Trusted Users

Hi everyone:
Is it possible to forbid non trusted (or non certified) users for modifying the pdf (I'm interested in signing protection particularly) but allowing them to open the pdf in READ ONLY mode?
I'm wondering how to do it using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 (info with Adobe Acrobat Pro X will be also appreciated) and opening the pdfs in their Reader corresponding versions (managing non trusted users as READ ONLY users).

I've been trying what you said, and is possible to "lock" the pdf so it's in read only mode via password (using Adobe Acrobat X). Is it possible to do the same with certificates? As far as I have seen, if you use certificates policies, you use the certificate to encrypt the document but then, non certified users are not allowed to access the pdf. I'm really interested in using certification restrictions but being able to access the pdf: I want to simulate the READ ONLY MODE for everybody and the WRITE mode for certified users.
Using this kind of restrictions, the only problem that I see (for end users) is that they should disable secure settings before editing / signing (this two options appear disabled with this method). Is it possible to get them available and open the "enter password" dialog when clicking them, not managing the security properties?
