Exporting SLD

hi....Fri's
how we have to export the technical systems and business from dev to test system using CMS
thanks in advance,

  • SLD Migration

    Hi All,
Currently we have central SLD configured in solman system. Our EP development system is connected to the backend system using JCo via SLD in solman. Under this circumstances if we shutdown the solman system in order to upgrade it (hardware migration and EHP 1 upgradation) our EP development system and production system stops working as connection to SLD is lost. So we have only one solution :
Create local SLD in EP dev and PRD and point EP servers to their local SLD. We did this activity in EP dev and local SLD in EP dev is working fine. Now I have following questions,
    1) after changeing the SLD information in SLD data supplier in J2ee admin tool all the JCO information in EP is lost. we have almost 25 JCo s in EP dev. The error has been identified. This local SLD does not contains all CIM data as it was in solman's SLD. So how do I export SLD data from Solman to local SLD created in EP dev?
    2) Is there any way to change SLD while keeping all Jco data intact in side EP system?
Any help would be highly appreciable.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi All,
My first issue is resolved. I was able to export data for all technical system and landscape as well. But currently my biggest concern is that information for all JCo connection, those were working before moving SLD, are lost. So in "content administration -> webdynpro -> maintain JCo connection" all JCo are in the initial stage, ie, Test, Ping, Edit, Remove buttons are disabled. So only option is to create all the JCo once again. Is there any way we could change SLD without tampering JCo connections? I have an idea my my mind...probably we could retain the Jco data while moving SLD if we follow the below mentioned order..
    1) Target SLD should not be in running mode.
    2) create necessary user for SLD administration
    3) Import all technical data and SLD data from old SLD to New SLD.
    4) Run new SLD
    5) Configure SLD bridge
    6) Change SLD data supplier in J2ee Admin and point it to new SLD
This way we may ensure that our New SLD contains all the technical information, as was in old SLD, before changing the SLD information in SLD data supplier. Could somebody verify the same?

  • SLD objects transport....

    Hi Experts,
I hav a qs...can we transport BS,TS,LS from the SLD of a XI system( it may be Dev or Qua) to the SLD of  another XI system (a sandbox) which is not in the same landscape....If it is possible thn pls can anyone provide me step by step guide...
    Regds,
    New XI..

    Hi,
Either you need to manually export SLD objects from the first SLD and import that in second SLD.
Or You can transport the SLD objects by SLD transports...
    have you check -

  • How to get DEV Integration Server into Prod SLD?

    Hello,
in a two-tier landscape I need to define transport targets in SLD. Both PI syetems have their own SLD. In each SLD there is just the Integration server of the corresponding PI system. How to get the DEV Integration Server into PROD sld? Manually?
    Thanks,
    CHRISTOPH

    Hello Seshagiri,
that is what I wanted to know. So there seem to be two possibilities:
    - Creating the DEV Integration Server in productive SLD manually
    - Exporting the DEV Integration Server from DEV SLD and import it into productive SLD.
I tried importing / exporting SLD content some time ago. AFAIK there is no exporting single technical / business systems, you can just export all the content together from a SLD?
    Thanks,
    Christoph

  • System Landscape in XI environment

    Hi,
We are having three XI systems, XID (Dev), XIQ(Qtly) and XIP(Prod) and an EPP (Enterprise Portal). Earlier EPP was pointing to SLD of XID. Now we want to revamp the components and install them in a better way. Currently we are thinking of the following options.
Options 1) Export SLD from XID and import into XIP
Point XIP and EPP to XIP-SLD
Leave all non-production pointing to XID
Option 2) Export SLD from XID and import into XIP & EPP
    Point EPP to EPP-SLD
    Point XIP to XIP-SLD
Leave all non-production pointing to XID
Option 3) Implement Full-blown parent/child SLD replication including NJP
Requires research.  Is this higher risk?
Can you suggest me the better option to maintain the landscape in a better way? And also support your suggestion by providing the suitable documents which will help me to realize myself to understand the same.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suraj Kumar

    Suraj,
His suggestion is to have one SLD because it would be easy for you gusy to maintain. Also it would be easy when transporting. If you keep increasing then it will confuse yourself only. I think we will not have any document on this.
Check this doucments which may give you some idea:

  • Moving proxy implementation to Production

    Hi
Can anyone tell me the best way of moving proxy implementation from dev/test to production system?
Is there any sequence while exporting SLD objects, IR/ID objects and abap objects from dev/test to production environments?
How will production XI box recognise the proxy implementation? DO i need to regenerate the proxy in production system?
Can someone tell me the best practise to be followed while moving SLD, IR, ID and ABAP to production environments?
Pointers to any material is also apprecited.
    Many Thanks
    Chandra

    Hi,
Moving ABAP Proxy objects and XI objects(SLD, IR & ID objects) is entirely independent.
ABAP objects can move anytime independent of XI objects. But in ABAP objects you need to move proxy package first. Then proxy objects then only ABAP Code. But triggering of ABAP proxy objects in case of client ABAP proxy should be only after moving XI objects. In case of server proxy, it will stuck in IS.
In XI, I hope you knew the steps first you need to move SLD.. then IR and ID we used to create in production environment.
    Regards,
    Vineetha.

  • Error while exporting the 3rd party technical system in SLD

    Dear all,
We're currently using PI 7.0. When trying to export the technical system in SLD, after the exporting, the IE jumps to the download page automatically, but there's a exclamation mark with no text info. I've tried to create a new 3rd-party technical system and try to export, the same thing happened.
It happened in both our develop and our production PI system.
Also I've found following error info in SLD server log:

not sure if it has relevance, but the SLD level transports will do nothing but create a CIM file which should be downloaded to your deskktop.
    1. Make sure that there are no Pop Up BLocker's acting on the XI server on your machine.
    2. Make sure that you have the download authorizations on your machine.

  • Howto export and import SLD data to different SLD's

    Hi All,
I have a landcape with 4 SLD's. A central SLD within Solution Manager and 3 SLD's for resp. XI dev, qas, prd.
The central SLD is version 7.0 and the XI versions are 2.2. (model versions are the same, CR are different -> XI SAP_CR 2.18 -> Solman SAP_CR 2.0)
The idea is that all changes in Bussiness (including new products and software components) and Technical Systems take place in the Solution Manager. After a change we make an export and import it into XI dev, qas and so on.
    However....
When adding, for example, an exsisting product to a technical system, export it on Solman and import it into XI dev, all entries dissapear(sapms/host/clients).
We filled Solman with a full export of XI development and that worked fine.
Does anybody has an idea about actions to be taken?
    Thanks,

  • SLD Export / import Technical and Business systems

    Dear all,
I am new to SLD administration.
We have task to update the local SLD on the Production PI system PPI ( Target ) with the business systems ZEC, ZSC from the Production Master SLD on Production solution manager system
PSM ( source ) using Export/Import on the necessary technical and business systems.
Please confirm whether i am following correct steps :
Go to SLD Administration on PPI target system
    ALL Instances
    Instances by Class
    Model
( which one of this option need to be selected , please let me know  ?? )
Go to SLD Administration on PSM source system.
    select Export button ->
Select business systems one by one and perform Export which will create .ZIP file
    at local machine.
Go to SLD Administration on PPI target system
    select Import button ->
Select Export ZIP file which created in previous steps from PSM and provide location from desktop
Start Import button ( only if you get Continue import option )
Please let me know if above procedure is correct for business systems
if yes then  what need to be done for Technical system ??...do they require Export/import also ?
If yes when i go to technical system option i get Export option disabled...but same way when i go to
business systems option i get Export button enable and able to perform the export.
Do i need to only Export / Import business systems ?
    Plese help me.
    Regards,
    RR

    Manoj,
It seems entries are added manually .... should we remove and run Import for the same ...
or just try to overwrite .... in case of overwrite option ( as we have open OSS message ) SAP has suggested through OSS message that If you end up with problems when trying to overwrite, then the PPI SLD is broken and will have to be re-built because someone made a manual change to it and got the GUIDs out of synch with the master.
I do not understand if target system PPI SLD gets broken during overwriting operation as mentioned by SAP ... whats is the way / steps / procedure to Re-build SLD .
In rebuilt - process do i need to Import ( Export -> Export lines -> ALL ) the export backup created before start of this activity ? please let me know SLD rebuilt steps and about Remove - reimport issue.
Appreciate you time on this. thanks in advance.

  • Is there a way to import the exported products into SLD?

    All experts,
Is there a way to import the exported products the .zip file, including software components into SLD? Under Software Catalog--> Products, I donu2019t see any import button! I am in XI 7.0.
    Thanks

  • SLD Error exporting technical system

    Hi,
While trying to transport our first XI scenario for go-live, we have a error while trying to export a third-party technical system.
The idea is to import the third party development technical/business system in the production SLD as well to setup a transport target for third party production technical/business system that was created directly in the production sld.
We I click export, I do get a page with a link but this link does nothing and there is line with a red exclamation mark.
    The sld log shows
    #14599166 09/12/2006 14:25:03.402 [SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_56] ERROR com.sap.sld.wd.technicalsystem.ExportView: null

This sounds like a sap problem
Any suggestion for a workaround ?

    Hi ...
at first U create a technical system in the development system..and that technical system belongs to development system....
and after u tranport this stuff to the production system...the technical system differs...i.e.u should change the technical system according to ur production system....
    Cheers,

  • Exporting technical/business systems from one SLD to another

    Hi Experts,
Currently we have dev/qa SLD and production SLD.  I currently have access to create/modify technical and business systems in dev/qa SLD but when I try to export these technical/business systems the link to export is disabled.  Is there a different security role that I need in order to be able to export the techincal and business systems that have been created in the dev/qa SLD?  I need to export these systems and import them into the production SLD.
Are there any impacts/differences between exporting/importing and creating the systems manually?  For example if I cannot export the systems would it be ok if I created them again in the production SLD?
    Thank you

No differeence...it's just increase the work you have to do in SLD...but the important thing here is when you move the tranports of the SLD BS from DEV to Production you have to maintin the same name as you have maintained in the trnsport targets in the DEV......your ID tranport to Production is dependedn on what is the BS name you are mentinog of production in the transports targets.

  • SLD  export

    Hi there,
We are building a parallel landscape  for PI and would like to have an exact copy of our existing Dev system with a different SID.
The method we are using is fresh installation with export/import  of content from source to target. I need some guidance on the approach .
    1) I  have taken the export of the sld data from administration-> data.  when importing in the target system, do I need to install the CR and CIM content before hand to the same level or will this export taken in source suffice.

    Hi,
    Hi,
Can you please refer to the documentation on the SAP
Community Network System Landscape Directory (SLD)
    e.g. Planning Guide
         User Manual (NW 7.1)
         and others
The following SAP Notes may also be of interest for this issue:
    Splitting an SLD instance 936318,
    935245,
    669669
Provided that you indeed do not yet have any important data in the
target namespace, you can clear the target namespace under
"Administration" - "Namespace". Select the namespace and delete
it. Namespace sld/active will be recreated automatically. You'll only
need to reimport the model as required.
    2) Target SLD
    - Change object server name from "localhost" to a unique name as per note 935245,
    - delete and recreate namespace sld/active
    - check the profile parameters
    - import latest model (same as in source SLD)
    - import backup from source SLD.

  • Export/Import between two separate SLD's

    Hello,
We're facing the next issue. We want to move some single (custom created) Products with some single Software component versions (SWCVS) from 1 SLD (SLD1) to another SLD (SLD2) that are fysically separated. We do not want to create an export of the full CIM content of SLD1. Anybody experience with this creating exports of single products and single SWCVS. What should be the order importing these in the target SLD (SLD2).
As we are running on SLD 7.00 we also created Software units. Still the aim of these units is not completely clear to me and documentation on this is quite poor. How should we deal with production state? At what moment in a development cycle should the state be changed??
Is it possible to also export import these software unit definitions from SLD1 to SLD2?
    Thanks for your comments!!
    Regards,
    Emile

    HI,
I am not sure, how it works with software unit definitions.
    This guide may help you-

So I think there may be a manual intervention required here..

  • SLD - Export Business System: 404 Not found while downloading ZIP-File

Hi, well we did a complete export of SLD to another XI-System. This worked fine so far except that one business System was not properly "installed" in SLD.
Therefore we want to export this single business system via option "Export" but we receive an 404 Error: The requested resource does not exist. when trying to download the given zip-file!
I read in OSS that this error occurs in XI-systems with SP <12 and SAP suggest to upgrade to 12
Well that's not an appropriate solution!
Does somebody can help how we can download this zip-file with the business system in it?!
Or is there some workaround i am not familiar with?!
    Thx in advance!

    Ok Prateek,
we had two same Technical Systems with two differnet hosts given in the SLD of DEV & PROD System.
After decision to devide both systems, means to seperate SLDs we copied the whole SLD from DEV to PROD. So there were some conflict with this two technical systems because during import of CIM-Data the business systems got switched up.
Therefore we thought we have to export the business system given in DEV SLD to import this business system in PROD SLD. But the workaround is that we simply assign the wrong imported business system to the right technical system (in PROD SLD)
    That's it! br
