Exporting songs--silence added?

I have a song that ends abruptly with no fade out. I want this song to go immediately into the next song. But when I export this song to my itunes, 3 seconds of silence is added on to the ending! How can I get Garageband or itunes to stop adding 3 seconds of silence to my song?

I'm having a similar problem and wondered if you could help. I am recording on a single track, voice, and get it down to the exact desired time. However after I export it to ITunes, it has about four extra seconds on it at the end. I am compressing it into an MP3, but even when I use no compression either ITunes or GB is adding the extra time. I am not burning a CD but wanting to email it. I did change the preferences in ITunes for the gap between songs, even though there is only one "song" and it didn't make any difference. My recordings are for a client with specific time issues so any ideas would really be appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

and then the audio wouldn't work in Hydrogen...
Now; the previous time I opened Hydrogen, the audio did work, but I made a quick drum track and tried to export it and in the process of doing so, (made it to where the audio stopped working?)
How can I get audio back and export song files?
Thanks in advance for any tips!

Are you starting jackd in realtime mode? If not, maybe that's what causes Hydrogen zombification. You could try to start jack manually beforehand, for example via qjackctl.
I can offer what works for me, maybe you want to try to replicate my setup.
I'm using hydrogen 0.9.5.1-4 and jack2 1.9.9.5-4. I start jackd via qjackctl 0.3.11-1 with the following setup:
    Generated command line:
    /usr/bin/jackd -P80 -p128 -t4000 -dalsa -dhw:0 -r48000 -p256 -n2 -Xseq
I'm not using a realtime kernel, just stock Arch Linux, right now linux 3.12.7-1 (haven't updated yet to 3.12.7-2).
Aside from all that, you can get great help for Linux audio issues at linuxmusicians.com, lots of knowledgable folks there.

  • How to export songs to play in itunes

i make beats and wanna export them to itunes but dunno how.
what route should i follow? i.e. what should i click?

When you bounce there is a box that if checked, your song is added to itunes. Plus if you highlight a track ant select "Get Info" from the pulldown menu, you can choose the application to open it, iTunes being one of the options.

  • How do I Export songs?

How do i export songs from my ipod, to itunes? Please respond
      Windows XP

    Check out the instructions/suggestions here.
    Music from iPod to computer.
There's also another method. I've successfully tested this across several different Windows PCs.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), there's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
The above methods will depend on what version of iTunes you are running.
I can't vouch that any of them will work with iTunes version 7.

  • How i can export songs from ipod ti itunes?

how i can export songs from ipod ti itunes?
    please i need some informations

If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation, also it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

  • How can I export songs from my iTunes to a mail program or laptop?

How can I export songs from my iTunes to a mail program/computer? The songs in question are originals composed by my boyfriend in Garage Band. We have full rights to them, but they import into iTunes like all the other artists songs. His hard drive crashed and I have the only copies. I have no access to my iMac for 2 months while we tour our show and we need them on the tour. We are in dire straights if we can not access these songs and the iPad will not hook up to our equipment. Plus we need to add a track to a promotional video. So how can we access our own music?
    Thanks.

If they are in the iPad's Music app then the only way to get them out of it is by connecting the iPad to a computer. As they aren't iTunes purchases you won't be able to copy them back to a computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, instead you will need a third-party program on the computer to copy them off - there are some listed half-way down this page which should work: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

I store my itunes library on an external drive shared between 2 computers and itunes on computer A isn't seeing or showing the songs I added using itunes on computer B. How to fix this?

I don't know if this is me adding files to iTunes when the external wasn't connected
    it is.
is it OK to just keep deleting that library on the Air?
    i wouldn't - at least not until i
    mount the external
point iTunes media folder location back to the external via preferences > advanced
consolidate my library via file > library > organize library
The ntfs hasn't seem to be causing any problems, but I've always wanted to know.
in order for your Mac to write to NTFS drives, it needs some help by installing e.g. the NTFS 3G driver. apparently that or something similar is installed on your Mac already. preferably, it would be formatted for Mac but then windows machines would need to have e.g. MacDrive installed to recognize the drive.

You can remove "this" (display of the Up Next list) by going to View > Hide Up Next in iTunes' menu.

No.  It would simply remove them from the Up Next list.

  • Troubles Exporting Song List

Here's my situation, I want to export my song list and I have songs with Chinese words in them. I could do it before, it appeared as if iTunes saved the .txt files in Unicode, but now I can't get it to work. All that shows up are question marks where the chinese words are, which means iTunes has reverted to saving in ANSI. Does anyone know how to fix this or have a work around so I can see the song list with the chinese words? Thank you very much to anyone who helps out!

I upgraded iTunes from 6.0.2.23 to 6.0.4.2 and the Unicode option disappeared. I am not sure if that is the cause though. I have successively tried going back to 6.0.2.23, 6.0.1.3, 6.0.0.18, and 5.0.1.x, in that order, without success. I can still view old Unicode exported song list in Notepad, so the XP OS seems ok, I just can't make new Unicode export list. Do Apple engineers read these forums? Can a kind engineer please help?

  • "Export Song to Disk" will not create file

So, I've been trying to bounce my GarageBand song for a few days now using the Share>Export Song to Disk option and nothing ever comes out. I uncheck "Compress" and I save it to my desktop, it completes the mixdown and normalizes the track and completes but when I check my desktop, there is nothing there. The project itself is 71.8 MB in size. I have already deleted the com.apple.garageband.plist file from my library but it did not help. Any ideas?

Make sure the file name isn't too long. There's a known glitch where project names longer than around 28 or so characters won't export to disk. That's the only thing I can think of.
Also it won't be on your desktop unless you choose that location when exporting.

exports songs from iphone to itune

  • Export songs in an iTunes playlist

I would like to burn MP3 CDs to listen in my car. The songs that I like to listen are mostly in the playlists in my iTunes library, in which all my songs are in AIFF format. I can certainly convert the format of the songs to MP3, then how do I organize those converted MP3 songs with artist-alburm-title and, when reached around 700MB, burn into a CD? After conversion in iTunes, the MP3 songs are scattered in various folders, and manually find all of them is very inconvenient.
Alternatively, is there a way to export all the songs in a playlist to another place in my hard disk (out of iTunes folder), while preserve the ID3 tag in each song? Then I can use MAX to convert them to MP3.
    Thanks much for your time.

Good idea! However what I would like to achieve is to organize the MP3 songs in an artist-alburm-title folder structure so that when I listen in my car, I can easily navigate through the hundreds of songs on the 700MB CD. The little software iTunesExport does a nice job to extract songs from my iTunes playlist and export to another place in my hard drive and "retain iTunes structure", i.e. preserve the artist-alburm-title folder structure of those songs. Then I use Max to convert those songs (still in AIFF format) to MP3. Max also preserve the folder structure. It's a two step solution. I wish I could find a way to do this in one step - export songs in my iTunes playlist as MP3 to another place in my hard drive (or CD directly) while preserving the artist-alburm-title folder structure.
