Exporting Specific Artboards into .PDF

I would like to know if it is possible to export only specific artboards from a CS4 .ai file as a .pdf like you can select them for print. I can't figure out how or find any info on that subject. (ie: I want to export artboards 2 and 4 in .pdf format for customer proof.)

While saving as pdf, in the Save dialog, choose the Range option & input: 2,4.

    hi,
all the UI elements in the adobe form are generally connected to your web-dynpro Context.
whatever you type in the online adobe form is reflected in the respective context attributes of the dynpro Context of the view where "ur Interactive form UI element is".
that means you can yourself fill the contents of ur interactive form by working on the get/set methods of the context attributes.
Likewise you can clear the form by setting all context attributes to blank eg ""
<b>interactive form has two imp properties:-</b>
    <b>*dataSource</b>
data source points to the node all whose context attributes will be made available in the interactive form
    <b>*pdfsource</b>
points to the context attribute which will hold the pdf.
note that the type of this pdfSorce attribute will be binary.
    if you still have doubts.
give me your gmail mail id. i 'll send a tutorial.
    with regards,

On my Windows environment the JRC export into PDF work perfectly. I know that there are some known issues regarding the usage of JRC on Linux environments. Could this be one of those?
Any solution (or workaround) would be highly appreciated!
    Thank you!
PS Maybe this is relevant: I use a MySQL database!

    Dear All,

    Please anyone help me
    Thanks in advance

Please re-post if this is still an issue to the .NET Development - Crystal Reports Forum or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with your directly.
Is there a reason why you need that much data in a one report? It will take a long time to load or browse around. I suggest you make these reports smaller for your users.

  • Is javascript capable of exporting specific artboards to a jpg?

I can export a single artboard to a jpg using the GUI but "artboardRange" doesn't do anything when exporting to a jpg.
I can use the artboardRange in the pdf save options and that works fine but, while the artboard selection is there in the jpg export dialog in the windows gui I can't get this to work in javascript.
Am I going to have to copy my content to a separate document containing only what I want and then export from that?
I tried changing the visibility of objects I didn't want on the jpg but that just leaves a blank area in the resulting jpg even with "artboardClipping" = true. Actually, I don't know that artboardclipping even does anything from what I've tried.
Any suggestions or does this just not work in JavaScript with CS4?
    Edit:
If I export to a jpg and use the artboards then a separate jpg is made for each artboard included with a prefix of the artboard # in the name, i.e. filename-01.jpg and filename-02.jpg. It'd be great if I could script this correctly.

Yeah, these are only document methods in Illustrator.
Actually, saveAs using PDFSaveOptions doesn't work right either. If I specify an artboard with artboardRange is doesn't do anything different; it just puts each artboard on a separate page in a pdf. However, if I set artboardRange to an empty string it actually changes the name of the current document to a .pdf and THEN I can resave it by adding the artboardRange during the second try which seems a bit odd.
At this point I don't believe the "Use Artboards" and the "Range" options which are available in the GUI function correctly in Javascript for either saveAs or exportFile which is annoying as I need this to work.
Also, the PDFSaveOptions.artboardRange string is actually validated and must be either blank or a valid range expression. If I have 2 artboards and I specify '3' it'll fail but if I specify '1' or '2' it still saves all of the artboards. The saveMultipleArtboards option does nothing.

  • Exporting Indesign document into PDF

I have a worklow of 410 pages 13"x13" made entirely of photos. The work is in progress but I want to make a presentation of what has been done so far. I opted for exporting to PDF only screen and web visible and that worked fine. But when I tried to export the full version as if for pre-press, the exporting loaded the 410 pages and then collapsed saying, this document cannot be exporting to PDF.
What could be the problem? the extent of the work? the size of the file? missing links? wrong settings? Thanks for your help.

Probably file size and memory (or lack there of). Your machine has to load all the data for each picture, maybe re-res it to the PDF setting you specify, save the file. ID might need to have access to several GB of memory.
I'd suggest breaking it into maybe 100 page chunks. I bet each PDF file will still be nearly 100mb each! You could use Acrobat to combine them into one PDF file. But talk with your printer, they might be able to easily work with a couple smaller files for you. A 400mb PDF is pretty large (not impossible, just unusual).

  • Export database information into pdf forms for printing

I'm hoping that this is doable and isn't extremely hard.
I have an access database that contains customer information.  From this information I would like to export it into an existing pdf form (for each individual customer) and save it for printing at a later time.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks for any help!!

  • Indesign Export SWF Import into pdf poor quality

    Hello!
I'm designing an interactive pdf portfolio.
I have exported the indesign file as an SWF at 300dpi 100% resoultion.
I have then imported the SWF back into indesign and exported as an PDF (interactive) again 300dpi
When viewed in the html file . Quality is perfect, however when viewed in the PDF quality is awful. No idea whats happening to cause this issue.
    I am using CS5.5 / Version 7.5.2 & viewing the PDF in Acrobat X / Version 10.1.7
    Can anyone advise?
here is a link to the file:  http://samrowe.net/pdfswf.pdf

In you have Acrobat, to eliminate any issue of swf degradation [when placing swf in ID and exporting pdf] you can add mulimedia swf directly into a PDF.
But, even with a successful placement of swf into a PDF, you will have no control of your recipient's successful playback due to versions of Acrobat/Reader, multimedia preferences and security settings.

This field name is not known.
The error occurs only on the server deployed application, in localhost environment it works fine. So I guess it might have something to do with the server environment, but I can't figure it out. The table reports_selection and the field idReport are well presented in the database.
The idReport(Number) is passed as a parameter to the report.
In Select expert... I have the following  formula {table1.idReport} = {?idReport} and in Database expert... I have a join between table1 and reports_selection by idReport.
Does anyone know what might cause this problem?

Have you able to preview the report via the Central Management Console?
When you upload the report template to the server, be sure to do a preview to make is sure its working there.
It might be that your server is using a different DB Connection.

  • Exporting into pdf

What do you do when InDesign stops responding in the middle of exporting a book into pdf?

    Troubleshoot using the divide-and-conquer method.
Export each book document individually until you find the problematic one.
Then, export that document in halves to identify the problematic half.
Then, export that half-document in halves to identify the problematic fourth.
Then, export that fourth-document in halves to identify the problematic eighth.
And so on until you identify the problematic page.
Then if necessary, apply a similar approach to eliminating possible problematic elements of that page.
