Exporting still image - how do I stop motion compressing the original image

I wanted to see if I could take a still image in motion and isolate an object as Aperture 3 can't do this. I imported a photo of 5mb. I isolated a shot or my printer, cut out the background and filled it in with a white background. The printer fills most of the shot. When I export the image as eg a Tiff or jpeg the resulting exported image is only 600kb at most.
I've tried starting my motion project as multimedia large and HD1080i which gives a slightly higher file size.
How can I export such an image so that the exported still image is 4mb approx? As quality is needed for magazine pictures. I thought I had found a way to avoid buying photoshop!
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you have large areas of white, they do compress well - either in TIFF as RLE or LZW, or in JPEG, so if the quality is good, I shouldn't worry. But use TIFF or PNG instead of JPEG. JPEG is a lossy compression format.
Happy New Year...

    Tonaw,
If you import your still images using iPhoto, then the time you set for each still, using FCPX Perferences works.
You can set the durantion from 1 frame to as long as you want them view.
If you do not use iPhoto to import your stills, the default is 10 sec's.
FYI: This issue was brought up within a month after FCPX was released. They found out by using iPhoto, you had better control of the amount of time your still was viewed.

How can I stop other people copying my images from my web
    site.
I use dreamweaver CS3 for the mac

both are a waste of time. Fornication with a leaky condom.
    Pointless and not
    worth the effort. Or worse!
the obfuscation JavaScript will get the site to not be
    listed in any search
engines because they can't "see" the page or any links on it.
    You would be
"protecting" the images but no one would find them.
And all of those obfuscation JS things can be reverse
    engineered. In most
cases- it's not worth it to prove it can be broken other than
    to prove it
can be done. The images are nothing special in almost any
    site using one of
    those $29.95 applications.
Have you done the basics? Turned off directory browsing or
    put a default
index page in every folder? A few years ago i ran across a
    site with one of
those block right click scripts on it. Dumb curiosity- opened
    a picture, and
looked around the directory. All open directories. A block
    right click
script and every folder on the site was open.
    /photos/private/girlfriend/hottub
Nuff said. The blocking script made me curious enough to poke

  • How do you stop adjustments to the image when importing pictures?

When I import pictures into Lightroom 1.1 they all automatically get adjusted to be much brighter. How do I stop this? The DEVELOP SETTINGS DIALOG in the IMPORT PHOTOS pop up box is set to NONE. I don't think it's a color management issue as the images are imported with a normal brightness/color balance and then get their settings changed one by one. Opening an image in Photoshop CS3 with the EDIT A COPY WITH LIGHTROOM ADJUSTMENTS radio selected opens up the modified brightened image. Opening that same image in Photoshop CS3 with the EDIT ORIGINAL radio selected opens a normal image with correct brightness/color balance.
This is driving me mad! I don't want these adjustments. Please help!

It's not turned on by default, that I know of. Somehow, yours got that way.
As to where it's located, I would like the preferences to be distributed around the application rather than concentrated in one place. I agree with you that this one should be in the import dialog.

  • Best way to downsize images and create timelapse/stop motion sequences of various durations

I`m wanting to know should I use compressor to add image sequence and downsize images, or aperture to downsize a folder of images, (i`m talking 4000 to 10,000 photos in one folder). What app is faster and more stable (reliable in converting the whole batch without crashing) ?
I had been doing some mix of stop motion and timelapse and wanted to downsize the images, then take them into FCP.X to create a video,
from there I would be adjusting the frame duration for different groups of photos in the one time line, some groups will have slower frame durations, others faster frame durations depending on the effect I want.
Is FCPX the best choice to do this in? Or should I select the photos I want at a particular frame duration and process/output them in another software first.
Then take them into FCPX to put with other sequences of footage.
Another related question, Compressor, Ive applied a destination and setting by dragging them from the templates, but the following message comes up for the video when I click "submit.."
    - Each target assigned to a job must have a setting and destination.
the source is small, for smallest quicktime output, the destination is users movies folder...
    any suggestion would be great,
    thanks,

If I want to keep the original image file size I would choose a different location? (to make a copy at lower resolution). (some images I want for printing at A2 but haven`t the time to siphon those out yet).
Thanks for the request I hope it is moved (will I be notified via email?)
regards my 2nd question, i`ll clarify that a bit more for the FCPx forum,
...Compressor, Ive applied a destination and setting by dragging them from the templates, but the following message comes up for the video when I click "submit.."
    - Each target assigned to a job must have a setting and destination.
I already set the source to small, for smallest quicktime output, the destination is "users movies folder"...both were dragged up into the fields required near the video thumbnail.
Not sure what to do from there it wont let me proceed.

  • How do I stop mail compressing my photos?

How do I stop mail compressing my photos? I have set 'Actual Size' in Mail and still the photos are compressed to thumbnail size.
    I'm using Mavericks 10.9.2 on a 2011 iMac.

The best way is to use the Contextual menu application PhotoTool CM to losslessly rotate the photos before importing into iPhoto. Or use Xee, a free image editor with lossless rotation capability.
If your camera has the auto rotate feature turn it off and then follow the suggestion above before importing. That will rid iPhoto of the modified version rotated to the correct orientation.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Each time I reopen a folder the files get rearranged alphabetically, how do I stop this so the file arrangement in the folder stays the same?

Each time I reopen a folder in OS X 10.8.4 the files get rearranged alphabetically, how do I stop this so the file arrangement in the folder stays the same?

I might add that all the files are aliases. There are 40 altogether and I am aware I could create 10 sub-folders so I only have 4 aliases in each subfolder which would mean I only have to rearrange 4 aliases each time but this is still not ideal. I have been using Macs since the 1980's and up to now files have always stayed where you put them unless you selected Arrange By in the Finder View Menu.

I am not sure what's happening with IE9 (no live site) but I had real problems viewing your code in Live View - until I removed the HTML comment marked below. Basically your site was viewable in Design View but as soon a I hit Live view, it disappeared - much like IE9. See if removing the comment solves your issue.

  • How do you place a 'cloud' brush behind an object in the original image?

As you will see I am extremely new to Photoshop and I am trying to teach myself a few things so any help & tips would be great!
As you can see from the image below, I am trying to put trails behind each of the planes in the picture. I have downloaded a pre-set brush and for the first 3 planes on the right and I just created new layers and placed the trail, free transformed it till it was the correct size & changed the hue so it was white. I am trying to put the trail behind the remaining 6 planes but obviously the brush is going to go right across/on top of the other planes on the right. Can someone explain how the process on how I can insert this brush behind the planes in the original images - is it some sort of mask technique? Also how can I then merge this stamp so it's faded more into the background of the original image - is that the opacity?
    Thanks

Use layers. Place each row of planes on its own layer and its trail on its own layer. Then you can move the layers so the planes are on top of the trail. Since the trails are on their own layers, you can then change its opacity as it is layer based.
layer 1 - first row of planes
layer 2 - trails for first row of planes
layer 3 - second row of planes
layer 4 - trails for second row of planes
    etc
    etc.

  • How is it possible to adjust the background images and the text in Mail?

How is it possible to adjust the background images and the text in Mail?

Here's the solution I used to solve the same problem. If you're not comfortable editing the source files, this might be more than you want to take on--but I've done it to several files with no ill effects. You can follow the instructions on this page and the referenced original post from (he includes a link on the page). Good luck! He's got some great tips on some of his other pages.
    http://photo.rwboyer.com/2010/03/15/aperture-3-book-theme-trick/
A warning about editing the Master pages--it only edits them in that book--it doesn't update the theme. So if you go to create another book with those same layouts, you'll have to duplicate the book and replace all the images. An alternative would be to create a "clean" book with no photos in it and then just use that as a starting point each time.

  • I was using photoshop CC as normal, when suddenly it started going haywire. It has corrupted all the one PSD files by distorting the images and colour. Does anyone know how to recover the original images?

I was using photoshop CC as normal, when suddenly it started going haywire. It has corrupted all the open PSD files by distorting the images and colour. They are now completely unrecognisable and unusable. Does anyone know how to recover the original images as I was saving them as I went along but the files are now corrupt?

What version of Photoshop are you running?
I've seen a couple of instances over the last week or two where Photoshop has added masks, strange colours and also merged content from two separate PSD files that were open at the same time.
This has occurred on two different iMacs, (both 10.10.x) running Photoshop CC 2014.2.2 (20141204.r.310 x64).

  • How to decode jpeg 2000 compression in dicom image ?

I'm working on dicom image viewer. How to decode jpeg 2000 compression in dicom image? Please help me. Thanks.

Illustrator is not a jpg editor.
There are 2 things you can do....
Use Live Trace to trace the jpg then adjust the shapes for the track. My guess is this won't work well at all.
Use the pen tool and draw the path yourself. You can then completely adjust the path all you want.

As explained multiple times in your SDK - you cannot do that.
