Exporting Text Messages

I'd like to be able to export a text message thread in the same way I can with a WhatsApp thread, for instance.
Is this possible with regular text messages?

The only way to get text messages off the device (without third party apps) is to take screen shots of the phone then emailing the pictures to yourself.
to take a screenshot, quickly hold the home and power button. You will hear a camera click

  • How can I export text messages from Companion?

    Dear all!
I have a number of old text messages which I would like to keep for the future. They are already erased from my tiny phone memory (I have an old SE "Cybershot"). So, right now they are only accessible via PC Companion. But: This only works if I connect my phone. If I launch the "text message synchronizing menu", the software asks me to plug in a phone, if I cancel, I'm back to main screen. However, I don't want to keep my old phone lying around for the next years just in case I want to browse through my old text messages some day.
Is there a way to export my these old messages or can I find them on my hard drive?
This might have been covered in some of the other threads, but I couldn't find a relevant post. I understand that "my Phone Explorer" allows to export text messages from the phone, but since mine are somehow hidden inside Companion, I am at a loss.
    Thanks for your help!

Ahem, yes, that works   Didn't think of this possibility at all...
You can save indivual messages or put all the highlighted ones into one single text document. It's not very comfortable to read, but it certainly does the job!
    Thank you very much!

  • Export text messages

    Hello all,
how can I export all the text messages from one application to another. I didn't find any button or option to do that and it will be boring to do that manually again. So is it possible from APEX or some inserts in a APEX_040000 schema?

I solved the problem with an insert in apex_040000.wwv_flow_messages$. Now all text messages are exported in the new application.

  • Exporting SMS text messages from the Treo 680

What options are available to export SMS text messages and call logs from the Treo 680?  I need to create hard copys for evedence in a court case. I back-up files to the Palm Desktop on a Mac OS-X.
I have searched through the Palm guide, but no discussion on extracting the SMS data.  I understand that the sms messages are in the file "Messages Database.pdb" and the call log is in "PhoneCallDB.pdb", question is how to extract the records.

  • Exporting texts/SMSs from "Messages" on iPhone

I am looking to export a long list of messages from my iPhone to my computer to be saved for later viewing. I am wondering if anyone know how, or has had any experience of successfully doing so. Any pointers, or even just how to do it would be great!

We use the decipher text message software at our small law firm since we are required to save (and print out) sms chats with our clients. Meanwhile, I never knew "option key" + go menu would make that hidden library show up!

  • How do I export/Merge Text messages from different iPhone backups?

I have several backups on my computer from my iPhone, from different times. And I would like to merge all text messages.
Currently I have my recent text messages then a 1 year gap, but have those on another backup. Is there a 3rd party software or someone that can do this?
I have tried iExploror but only will save them.
    Thanks

I can't believe in 2015, there is no way to merge texts.
Like when I had to send in my phone for repair and used a backup phone for a month, and that I can either ONLY have the old texts without the new month, or the new ones, with no history, and they can't merge.
There has to be software, or jailbreaking options or something Tim Cook can figure out in this day and age.

  • How can I save text messages to my Mac and will that reduce "Other" in storage?

I have hundreds (or more) of text messages on my iPhone 5 that for personal reasons, I want to save. There are far too many to do screenshots. I want to save them to my MacBook Pro Retina in a readable and printable format. The reason is that I read that text messages can cause the "Other" storage to be higher. My "Other" is over 6 GB on a 16 GB iphone. Therefore I want to save texts, print them, and delete from phone.
First question: Is it true that text messages contribute to the size of "Other"?
Second question: How can I save texts to Mac in readable format so they could be printed?
Third question: How in the world do I delete all these texts from my iPhone efficiently? Is there a way to "mass delete"?
When you are answering this, perhaps it is noteworthy that:
    (a) I've had an iPhone since a 3G in 2009, and the texts I want to save have been accumulating since then.
    (b) My "Other" has gradually gotten larger over the years.
    (c)  I sync with itunes regularly.
    (d) I've never had any problems with an iphone or with my data.
    (e) I've restored from backup only three times, when I upgraded to the iphone 4, 4S, and 5.
I want to get this "Other" cleared up before I upgrade to the iphone 5S.
    Thank you.

You can select to export a folder to save as a .mbox file. This file would need to be imported if you wanted to view the messages.
    Select mailbox (folder)
Under Mailbox in the Menu bar select Export Mailbox...
You might also want to check out the demo for EagleFiler by the author for SpamSieve. You could view and search the messages archived in EagleFiler.

    Regarding Mail being slow....
Is it only Mail that is slow?  How much free space on your drive? Use Disk Utility to find available space.

  • How do I copy an entire string of text messages to email?

I want to save a long string of text messages and export to email.
On first try I can press "edit" select a few messages (worked for up to 14) and press "forward" to get them into email
How do I copy the whole lengthy string of many texts?
The copy/paste function would be tedious and take forever.
On my iPhone, it allows one transfer, then no more will be allowed unless I reboot, then only one allowed again.
Is there an easy way to load ALL texts (pref
    with time/date stamps)?
    Thank You

Press and hold on a message, tap More > Select the messages you want > Tap the arrow > copy everything out of the new message that appears

  • Print out of text message history!

    Hey guys,
Does anyone know how i can get a print out of my entire text message history for one conversation on my iphone 4.  I know it is in the phone because i can view it bit by bit if i continue to scroll and hit "view previous messages" but i am in the middle of a legal thing and i desperately need a print out of the history of this one conversation.  There has to be a computer genius out there than can help me.  There must be a way to export it to my macbook or my email or something.  Please if you know anything i would be so grateful.  Thank you!

    Two Methods:
    1. You can put the text messages on your screen like your reading it.. press the lock button and the home button at the same time.. it will take a picture of it and be saved to your photo album.. then upload it to your computer or email it to yourself..it won't be a document but it will be a picture and that's something.
    2. use iPhone backp extractor app:
First backup your iPhone to your computer with iTunes, all text messages, contacts will be included in the backp file, but it is an unreadable format, you have to extract them to your computer for print.

  • How to Send a Ringtone via Text Message

Im trying to send a friend a .mp3 ringtone that i made via text message.  Can anyone tell me how or if it's even possible?

  • How can I back up my text messages to my PC computer so that I can read them or print them?

I have been trying to backup my text messages so that they are in a readable format on my computer so that I can read them or print them. I have a number of pictures that have been sent and some important conversations I need to save; however, they are taking up a lot of memory on my phone and I would like to delete them, but still have access to them on the computer. I downloaded a free program called Appandora, but it locked up every time it started to save the second text message thread. The one that it did save was in a .txt file and was very difficult to read. I do understand that the texts are backed up when the phone is backed up, but I want them in a readable accessible file. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thanks.

    Hi Maria,
I am one of the developers for the program Decipher TextMessage, which will help you back up your text messages to your computer. You can read the texts right in the program in a format similar to the phone itself (with the little chat bubbles,) and you can export the messages into a file with that formatting as well. You can download the free trial from our website: http://deciphertools.com/
If you have any questions, you can followup here, or you can contact me directly through the support page on our website linked above (feel free to mention my name, Kelly, explicitly )
(Note: As I mentioned, I work for the company being linked-to above, so I stand to benefit from the links I am posting.)

  • Using the text message facility on PC Suite.

I have loaded the PC suite onto my pc and have managed to sync dates , contacts, photos etc.
Evertime I try to send a text message I get the following
On right clicking on message a pop up window informs me that phone connection is lost.
the text message box then appears and clearly states at the top that a connection to the N93 is ok but as you type a message and send I get "the phone connected to the PC is no longer connected please reconnect"
what anm i doing wrong pls

please try Noki in this thread to extract contacts from .nfb file. Then you can copy them to the new phone/export contacts as Outlook/ThunderBird .csv.

Thank you for the responses. I am not sure if I optimized the video, but I'm not quite sure how to do that. Maybe that would fix my problem. I shot in 4k, but Divinci Resolve light only allows you to export in 1080p. The full version allows for 4k.
If it has gone down to 15 fps, I don't know how or why. I want the final product to be 24 fps.
The question I think that would fix my issue is, How do I make my 4k, 2k, and 1080p, mixed project and make the entire thing 1080p? I hope someone will be able to answer this. I'm sure it's a simple fix. I'm just ignorant of how to make this possible.
I have to dash out now... Deviance Resolve Lite allows for 4k output...
