Exporting to a local file

Hi,
I have written a report and when i export the output to a local file (using: list - export--local file) it gives me short dump: GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED.

Hi Fred,
There is no need to use any function module for this requirement. As your report is a ALV report, you can use the standard toolbar of ALV for this purpose.
There is a Export button present on the toolbar.You can proceed this like this:
Export>Local File>spreadsheet(any from options)
So you can tell your client to use this export button in toolbar for downloading purpose.

I don't think there is a method built into the tree object for doing this.

I think one way you could do it is have an option on the application menu, then manually parse the data in the tree and build up an itab yourself from the expanded nodes (or all nodes or whatever). Then you could export the data from the itab.

Importing previously exported data (from local file)

After having searched to no end I still cannot find the answer to my question....
Our current environment is an SAP and FLM system (forms livecycle management) using livecycle designer for design and all users on at least reader 9.
I would like to know if it is possible for a user to fill in a form and save the entered data (to a local file) so the following week they can then open latest version of the PDF (requested from the FLM portal to be either completed online (portal) or offline (email)) they would then import the data, make any minor updates and submit. The forms should have reader extensions applied but as yet unsure of the exact settings (if any) as this happens automatically within FLM. The form shouldn’t change in future, more than some additional validation, but allow form numbers and versions within FLM to be better maintained. Plus to ensure users do not keep or use outdated forms.
From my understanding there are 2 ways to import data, either folder level javascript or via certifying the form. For our setup folder level scripts are a non-starter as would have no way to maintain these on every PC (far to many) so that leave us with certifying forms....from the limited information I have found on this it appears that the certification may break when importing data, have very very basically tested this and appears to be true.
So the last thought was if I can import data programmatically via javascript and fill fields in etc would this still have the same affect of breaking certification?

I haven't tried the MDM Import manager..but I solved it with LSMW. I created a recording for one record entry, then I specified the rest of the data in a text file, and passed it to LSMW..It worked (almost) perfectly!

Cannot export result to local file in EBP

HI Experts,
I have created a report for displaying self approved shopping carts. When I run this report in SAPGUI I am able to trasnport the result of the report to local file and also send the result through mail.
But when I run the same report in WebGUI(EBP) I am not able to save the report to local file. Also the option for sending the output through mail is coming greyed out.

Yes, The problem with the standrad program. I think there is a need to apply some patch. you just try this with some other server (if avail) i hope it works.

You could use one of the reports to display document details (for example transaction ME3N, ME3M, etc). From here you can easily download the data via:
-> System -> List -> Save -> Local File

SE16N Export Local File - Header Line Every 60,000 Records

Good Day,
After a recent system upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0 Release 701, Level 007 (from Level 004), we received word that exporting to a local file from SE16N now creates a header line after every 60,000 records. This occurs on both SAP GUI 7.10 Patch 15 and SAP GUI 7.20.
We found notes 1309128 and 1017586, but our service pack level already implements the correction instructions listed. Is there a parameter (either system wide or SAP GUI specific) that needs to be set to disable the header lines? Is there anything else that we can check?

Save Grid Alv as Local File Problem

Hi,
The Alv output via REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, when i export ALV to local file as Excel some cells are converted the value.
Ex.
06MAY51 " display as char on ALV, there is no problem, this value of a plaque of a vehicle
06.May.51 " display as date on Excel, converts char to date, and the value is displaying as 06.05.1951 (date)
i dont know this convertion happens.
can somebody help me please?

i opened the excel file in notepad and i saw the values are not converted. 06MAY51
and i created a blank excel file then i entered this value into a blank cell then i saw the values are converted by the excel.
so i think there is no problem in SAP.
the another way is to display ALV as Excel in SAP using Excel button on ALV then save the Excel, but if the ALV have too much values, it is not working. it is waiting too much. it is trying to compile the ALV to Excel format.

Exporting Hierarchy in Flat File Format

Hi All,
I exporting hierarchy in local file from transaction code OB58 (Balance sheet Hierarchy and Profit & Loss Hiearchy) , KSH3 (Cost Center Hierarchy), KCH3 (Profit Center Hierarchy). But the hierarchy is commming as it is displayed at the R3 screen.
I have to load these hierarchies in BW through flat file. Is there any method other that writing an ABAP program by which we can extract these hierarchies in Flat file loadable format.

It's an ABAP program but it works well and you can load your flat file easily

Authorization Error while exporting a target group to local file

Dear All,
When we tried to export a created target group to local file, system gave an error message: "Authorization required. See SAP Note: 697572".
In this note, it tells that we should add certain authorization entries into the Java policy file under: \lib\security. It mentioned:

And what we put into the policy file is as below:

We are not sure about whether we should put <<ALL FILES>> or ALL FILES, but tried both way and still didn't work.

How to restrict users from printing documents and exporting to local file

Hi SAP gurus,
I have two questions.
1. How can I restrict users from printing a document? i.e. billdoc? I would like to know if I could block it though authorization. If yes, what auth obj to use?
2. How to restrict certain users from exporting to local file? the System> List>Save-->Local File. I have tried restricting it using auth object S_GUI but it seems it is only applicable to older versions of SAP. im on ecc6.

Check this:
Create your own gui status and attach it to the list in the event START-OF-SELECTION.
In the menu painter extra -> adjust template.
Make it a list status and you will see all the standard list options appear including list->download
Deactivate the ones you don't want.
If you just want to prevent users from downloading the list you can achieve this with authorization object S_GUI, activity 61. Menu option will still be there though.
Please note that if you remove authorisation for S_GUI activity 61 then all downloads will not be possible.
If you just want to disable downloads only for a particular report, you can try this test program:

Batch-input for exporting cost calculation to a local file (ecc 6.0)

we had a batch-input to export some data in a local file (excel format) in SAP 4.5B.
We recorded transaction CK11 for a material number, we got Itemization screen and then we recorded menu' option "List . Export . Local file / Spreadsheet). If the batch-input ran in foreground it would produce required outputs (some excel files).
Now we are migrating from 4.5B version to Ecc6.0; we recorded same transaction (both ck11 and ck11n, to be more ), but at execution time the window for local file saving never is displayed and B.I. stops with error.
One difference is that now data are collected into a container, instead that in a write list ...

the data i look for is a result of calculation of different tables so for every single product, it is calculated. In standart CO reports, there is no such report that give me that detail.
Finally i managed to call print OK code, but it was in the foreground processing mode, i cannot run it on backround processing..
I know i misuse the LSMW, but i think LSMW may have such flexibility to use such reports, thanks to SAP.. it was an adhoc report i tried to combine, so writing a program may be much more time consuming.

Why whenn I go to local files in Muse Export it does not load the pages in my browser?

I was testing and tried to winzip the files to upload to a site (blackboard) but when I tested to view them straight from local files is not uploading in browser properly?

Morgan, I know the files need to be untouched for an FTP upload, but this is not for an FTP upload. Blackboard it is an educational CMS to upload info for courses and it does strips the data. In order to create an interactive element to a module I can upload an HTML file to be 'living' in their host as a page and in that way it is possible to be interactive.
Sachin, I I'd export them as HTML and I have been working with them in muse, dreamweaver and embedding edible edge animate CSS and it runs well in catalyst but when I click in the local files( muse export file) it does not open well on the browser. All design is gone and only basic HTML.
Any thoughts?

I did access catalyst site via dreamweaver and downloaded all files in an other folder locally but still when I click directly in the folder HTML page it does not link on the browser

F. 31 List Export local file_, = *local file* became greyed out

Recently we have Upgraded our SAP system with EHP5, after that in T.code F.31 after executing, we are unable to down load the file as its grayed out,
