Exporting To Acrobat Pro

In Indesign CC, when I exported a file to pdf and checked 'view file after exporting', the pdf file always opened in Acrobat Pro (YAY).
Since installing updates, all files now open in Reader (NOOO). Is there a setting to ensure it always opens in Acrobat Pro and NOT Reader?

Hi marine_st,
You are experiencing  this issue because the default PDF viewer in your computer is Adobe Reader. You need to change the Default PDF viewer from Adobe PDF to Adobe Acrobat. You can do this by following the steps below:
Open Adobe Acrobat;
Go to Edit -> Preferences-> General -> Select Default PDF Handler
Select 'Adobe Acrobat in the drop down menu and click OK.
OR
Right Click on any PDF file;
Select 'Open With' -> Click 'Choose default program'
In the list of programs, select Adobe Acrobat and then select 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' and click OK.

  • I have a problem exporting from Acrobat Pro on OS X 10.10

I'm trying to export a PDF to Word, and am getting an error message saying "Save As failed to process this document. No file was created". This happens with all files in Acrobat. This has only started to happen since I upgraded to OS X Yosemite. I would appreciate any help with this, as this is a critical issue for us.

    Hey LoveWYD,
Please try saving the word file to a different location and check.
Also, let me know is this a scanned document? Which Adobe Acrobat are you using?
As it is happening with all PDF files, you might also try repairing Acrobat from the Help menu.
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Making an InDesign CS4 table of contents interactive when exporting to Acrobat Pro 9

I apologise if this is a basic and blatantly obvious scenario:
I have an InDesign document that contains a Table of Contents. I need to create an accessible [tagged] pdf in Acrobat 9 with each item in the table of contents being able to link to the corresponding page in the document. For the life of me I cannot get my head around how to do this. Is there a way?

This involves how the table of contents is created in InDesign.
You'll find many more InDesign users who can help you in the InDesign forum. Please post them here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/indesign/indesign_general

  • Cannot overwrite PDF when exporting to Acrobat from InDesign CS6

When exporting to Acrobat Pro X from InDesign CS6, there are times when I want to overwrite an exising file but I get an error msg that the file is in use (it is not--this even happens when I have closed the file and quit Acrobat) or i don't have permission. In the Info panel at the Finder, i see that "myusername (ME)" does have permission to read and write this file. As a test, I also changed the permissions for Admin and Everyone to Read & Write, but that did not help. I've checked Preferences in both InDesign and Acrobat Pro anc can't find a relevant setting.
To save the file with the same filename as the pre-exisitng PDF, I have to close the pre-exisitng PDF and move it to the trash.
I have no problem overwriting a PDF document from Acrobat. This only happens when I am exporting from ID.
I am on a Mac running the latest version of OSX.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Carol Gunn

Make sure that the PDF you are trying to overwrite is not selected in your finder. I've found that if it's selected in the finder then the preview tricks Indesign into thinking the file is busy

  • Problem exporting data in Acrobat Pro 9.0 from secured response form

    Hello,
I made a form in Livecycle 9.0 and am distributing it through Acrobat Pro 9.0 - using Acrobat.com's form distribution application - in several cycles to see how varying the levels of security of the form will affect users (the folks who will be filling out the forms), once they get the forms.  I want to see how many passwords they have to enter, what they can do, what they cannot do with the form..  I've been sending unsecured and secured forms out, to test.
The problem I have now is, when I receive my permissions protected, secured forms back, I cannot EXPORT the data.  Both  the "Export" and "Archived" buttons are greyed out, and even when I remove the security settings from File--> Portfolio Properties, nothing changes.
I'm locked out of the collected data!
It's easy to export data from unsecured response forms (without permissions protection), but I would prefer to limit the amount of manipulation users can do to the forms (aside from commenting, filling them out, and signing them).
The secured forms perform great on the Acrobat Reader - user (form-filler) end, restricting printing, modifying text, etc,  but they return to me in Acrobat Pro inert.  I'm completely stumped to how I can get data out of them. I would sure appreciate any help!
    Thanks,
    Chenster

  • How does Adobe ExportPDF differ from the export feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0?

How does Adobe ExportPDF differ from the export feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0?

ExportPDF is based on a newer conversion engine than the one found in Acrobat 9.0.  They're similar in some respects, but ExportPDF is more advanced.

  • How to export images in Acrobat Pro X v10.x for Mac?

How to export images using Acrobat Pro X v10.1.1?
This is a positive criticism: it was easy with Acrobat Pro X v.9.x. The new Acrobat interface without menus and submenus is awkward and utterly anti-intuitive. If it ain't broke don't fix it!!! Thanks.

  • Installed Acrobat Pro 9 - requires password to open any PDF & botches InDesign exports to PDF

Installed CS4 on my new Mac, using the downloaded installation file. Everything works except Acrobat. I uninstalled Acrobat & reinstalled it. Same problems remain:
1a. Everytime I open a PDF, I get this message:  "Adobe Acrobat Pro wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this." I have to enter the username & password for my computer to open every PDF. Then they open correctly.
1b. If I open Acrobat from the Applications folder, without opening a file, I get the same message & must enter username & password to open Acrobat.
    2. From InDesign, I export PDFs using File > Export. The PDFs have little rectangles for about half the text in the entire document. I routinely export both hi-res (Print Quality) and lo-res (Smallest File Size) PDFs in InDesign & this happens with all of them.
Most of the work I do results in PDFs. None of them have password protection or other security. I don't see anything in Preferences that looks like it would relate to these issues. Help, please!

Go the the Applications -> Utilities folder. In there you will find the Disk Utility app. When you run that application, you can select your hard drive. Then click on the Fix Permssions button.

  • Formatting of text fields when exporting from InDesign to Acrobat Pro

How does one preserve the formatting  of a text field when exporting from InDesign CS6 to Acrobat Pro? It loses both the font and the alignment formatting in the PDF.

Use a font that allows embedding/ check the font embedding settings in the PDF output settings.

  • Export Antialiased JPEG from Acrobat Pro?

    Hi all:
I noticed today that when I open a PDF in Acrobat Pro 9 and save the page as a JPEG image, there is no ability to save the JPEG of the page with antialiasing. This seems odd and limits the usefulness of the command to me.
I have been in a few situations lately where I need to send someone a JPEG to use for web purposes, but I didn't have access to Illustrator to export an antialiased JPEG from the original art. I can't understand why you would want to export only aliased JPEGs of Acrobat PDF pages........anyone? Am I simply missing the option box during the Save command?...
    Thanks for reading -

I'm talking about saving a VECTOR file that is a PDF into an anti-aliased JPEG. Sometimes, you want to save a JPEG of a vector PDF file that you did not create and for which you do not have the original.
For example, to save an entire 200-page PDF of technical drawings which you find on the web as a series of numbered, antialiased JPEGs automatically, in order to place them in a PowerPoint show. That's not "easy enough" in a "graphics package."

  • Is there a quick way in Outlook 2007 (using Acrobat Pro X) to change the setting for including/excluding attachments when exporting email ?

I have to export Outlook 2007 email a hundred times a day. Most of the time I do not want the attachments included with the email because I have to save them off to various directories and do not want or need to double up the storage space. However, every couple days, there is an email that I have to save with the attachments. So I have to go into the Adobe settings, change to include attachments. Save the email. Go back into settings, change it back to not include the attachments.
Is there a way - shortcut key, ctrl-alt combinataion, something, that will allow me to save that one email every couple days with attachments without having to go into the settings?
I am using Outlook 2007 with Adobe Acrobat Pro X on a Windows 7 PC.
    Thanks,

    Hi Slowtorque,
There isn't a shortcut but you can use the options in conversion settings to toggle whether to include attachments or not:

  • Subscription Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Export PDF, Adobe PDF Pack. How can I activate the need of licens?

Subscription Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Export PDF, Adobe PDF Pack.
How can I activate the need of licens?
The reason can be Adobe policy, I have change computer, added products, stop using any product and so on.

    Hans,
When you no longer need the Adobe software on a computer or you wish to move it to another one, you should deactivate the software.
See this link: how to deactivate software. Installation rules will let you install the software on two computers of the same platform (both windows or both mac) but you are limited to running it on only one at a time. If you have only installed it once, you should be able to install it on the other computer. If you have already installed the software twice and you don't have access to your previous computer or you upgraded your computer's hardware, replace a hard drive, upgraded your operating system, or reformatted your drive before deactivating your software, you can ask Adobe Support to help you deactivate the software from the machine. Just have your serial number or Adobe ID ready, and then contact support. Then you can install the software from the links below and enter your serial number to re-activate the software.
If you need to find your serial number, sign in to your Adobe account. On the Manage Accounts page that appears, all of your registered products and their serial numbers are listed in the Plans & Products section. For more information on locating serial numbers, or on registering a serial number, please see Find a serial number.

  • How to export security settings from Acrobat Pro

I'm transferring my Acrobat Pro to a new computer.  Is there a way to export the security settings (passwords) that I have stored and then import them into Acrobat Pro on my new computer?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
The paths you are looking for are:
    Win XP
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name¹>\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\<ver²>\Security
    Vista \ Win7
    C:\Users\<user name¹>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\<ver²>\Security
¹The user name is the same as the login name
²ver is the major version (e.g. 8.0, 9.0)
Note, if you don't see the folders in the Windows Explorer try the following:
    Start Windows Explorer
Select the Tools > Folder Options menu item
    Select the View tab
Select the Show hidden files and folders radio button
Click the OK button on the Folder Option dialog
    Good hunting,

  • Acrobat Pro PDF Export - lnk Attachements

    Hallo zusammen,
