Exporting to Encore - combining L+R channels to mono?

Is there a may to do that? MPEG knows how to do that but then it does not preserve the DVD markers needed in encore.
Actually - what is the best way to integrate and combine two separate channels (L+R) recorded into one channel (mono)?
thank you!

FAQ:How do I create mono/stereo out of stereo/mono audio?

  • After exporting to Encore, no audio/video transitions

I used keyframes to create audio/video fade-ins and fade-outs between chapters. It looked perfect in Premiere. I then went to File > Export to Encore. Let it render for 3 hours. Then the resulting m2v/wav combination in Encore doesn't show any evidence of the audio transitions that I had created. This happened for 4 different 2-hour videos I am trying to make. What am I doing wrong?

If you set the work area bar to span one of the problem transitions and then export that work area to a DV AVI file, when you play the exported file in an external media player do you hear the audio transition?

  • Will EXPORT TO ENCORE work without Encore Installed

Since CS3 does not have HD DVD support, I've found EXPORT TO ENCORE will encode the correct .M2V and .AC3 files BEFORE starting Encorde.
I only need the .M2V and .AC3 files that are left in the "3.0" folder. I don't need Encore to do anything. In fact it simply starts up and reports there is no BR drive.
I'd like to save the waste of time while Encore starts up.
I assume I'd leave the codecs installed.
    MAC version.

    In
    i some
ways PCM audio is better than Dolby Digital, since it's uncompressed. Dolby Digital True HD audio is very good, it is what is used on Blu-Ray & HD DVD. Remember there are a lot of specific methods and Dolby Digital encoding schemes.
I am not sure if you get multichannel uncompressed PCM audio, hmmm.
I dont bother using Premiere's AC3 encoder, I usually export to a wma file since it is cpaable of 5.1. Or you can mix your audio in Premiere and export each channel as a mono wav file and use that.
I use Sony DVD architect, I prefer it to Encore, and this works fine.
    > Which means Encoder is useless
Only if you do all you productions in 5.1, but wait I'm sure Encore actually does the AC3 encoding onto DVD, you don't need to bring in AC3 files.

  • Export problem "A serious error has occured", or hang, upon export to Encore.

    Hello,
    I am using adobe Premiere CS3 3.2
I am trying to export my project to a DVD.  I've been told that the best way to do this with minimizing quality loss is to export to Encore.
My project has some filters that affect system memory and have locked up the computer numerous times before, like Looks Suite and Noise Remover (on some clips)
when I choose export to Encore, then choose settings, I get the error "A Serious Error has occured...."  Then I trried lowering the settings, and I got the window that says "Rendering", at least, but nothing appeared in that window after I left it overnight.
    So I have some questions:
    - What's the best thing I can do to export my movie onto a DVD with minimum loss of quality?
    - Should I export as a video file first?  Which is the best quality?  Then can I export to Encore?
    - Does it help to pre-render my entire project in Premiere first, THEN export to Encore?
    I'd appreciate some advice.
    Thanks!
EDIT:  I just tried to export as a Quicktime Uncompressed video with the regular method (Export-> Movie).. and it gave me the error "Could not compile movie..."  then the message "adobe premiere pro is running very low on system memory"
So I am assuming this is a memory issue?  Then what should I do??
Also, I want to ask- If I put my entire project with all its files onto an external hard drive, then move them to another computer with adobe premiere pro installed which also has the same filters installed,  would I be able to export this way?

I am quite sure it is a memory problem... the computer exported other videos in the past just fine, but its never been used for making a film with a lot of filters and such that run down the memory, and so it gives me the memory errors.
I am not sure what is "Memtest86+"... I would like to try such a program, but in fact this is not my computer... I am using a Workstation at a University and now I have limited time to complete my project (I must figure out a solution by the end of the day on Monday)
Maybe AVI is the best for some... but I have done comparisons beforehand which found .mov to be the best... and I was even told that uncompressed quicktime doesn't lose quality at all (though in fact it seems to just a bit). So if you not completely sure which will be better, I will go with .mov.
So I will try a few things- like exporting only the "special" clips which  used a lot of filters on individually as .mov, then reimporting them into the project, then trying to export the whole thing into  encore...  If that does not work, I will try to export fragments as.mov (because if I try to export too much at one time, it has the memory error->crash).. then create a new project, import the .mov files, and export to Encore.
I only have limited time to solve this problem.. do you all think I am taking the right steps?
Also one key question I have is about the audio.. do you recommend that I export all of the audio into one wav file, and then put that into the new project?  Or should I just export the quicktime files, with their audio, into the project and keep it like that?
    I appreciate the help, again

  • Looking for a sample of the Flash Export from Encore CS3

I am close to upgrading to the CS3 Production Premium and one of the features that intrigues me is the Flash export from Encore CS3. I have searched the Adobe site without success for a sample of what an exported project looks like and functions on the web. Can anyone point me to a on-line sample of an exported project? Thanks in advance :)

'Black Gaps' in Flash usually come from the Flash trying to locate & load the next Flash file. Without a Pre-Loader, you will probably always have this... especially if your quality is set too high. This equates to longer load/buffer times which means there is nothing to display until there is enough video loaded in the buffer to play.
If your ultimate goal is to create Video for the Web... you'll need to learn proper techniques for producing video for the web. It is much different than producing video for TV or DVD. On the web you have to compress your video a lot more therefore you should not use a lot of Motion/Movement in your Characters, Camera, Media, Motion Backgrounds, etc. The less Motion/Movement you have means you can lower your quality settings but still get awesome looking video & good load times eliminating the Black Gaps and making an all around smoother internet presentation/experience.

  • Exporting to Encore from Premiere

    Hi all,
I have Premiere Pro CS6 and I have completed my ediring in Premiere. I am ready to export the work so I can place it into Encore and do more work.
However in Premiere , I go to export, media and do all the settings. Yet I cannot work out what option to use so the work can be recognised by Encore.
Also is their an option like their was back in CS3 were you can export your work straight to Encore?
    Thank you

    1. In Premiere Pro, select a sequence.
    2. (Optional) Add Encore chapter markers, if desired. See Add Encore chapter markers.
    3. (Optional) If you are producing a sequence for standard-definition output that includes high-definition clips, select Maximum
Render Quality before using Dynamic Link to send the sequence to Encore for DVD authoring. This does not apply to HD
sequences that use Dynamic Link for Blu-Ray Disc authoring.
    4. Choose File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Send To Encore.
    5. On the Basic tab in the New Project dialog box, type a name for the disc into the Name field.
    6. (Optional) Click Browse and browse to a location for the Encore project, to change it from the default location.
    7. In the Project Settings pane, select the name of the authoring mode desired.
The sets of options available in the Settings area and on the Advanced tab depend on whether Blu-ray or DVD is the
    authoring mode.
The authoring mode can be changed at any time in Encore, in the Project Settings dialog box.
    8. (Optional) Click Advanced, and select the desired transcoding settings.
    9. Click OK.
Premiere Pro starts Encore. The Encore Project panel contains the dynamically linked Premiere Pro project and sequence.
    10. Finish authoring and exporting in Encore. For more information about using Encore to author and build DVDs, Blu-ray discs
and SWF files, see Encore Help.

  • I miss the export to encore /w no menu we had in CS3.

    Hi all,
I don't know why adobe can't just leave well enough alone...
They have moved exporting to Encore into the Dynamic links menu option in Permiere CS4 and there appears to be no way to select direct to disc with no menu or be able to alter settings before clicking ok like you use to in CS3. You get dumped into Encore and have to set a few links before you can build a simple play dvd.
    Am i missing something?

When you try to build the dvd - an error message pops up telling you that the end action and title remote links are not set. Yes I can ignore them and continue to build but its just one more thing to snag you. It used to be automatic - done! And if i wanted to tweak the format settings before starting encore - BAM - done!
What's wrong with having a simple one button option in "export to encore" to automatically create a direct play no menu dvd with no muss or fuss?
I think someone in the adobe design lab has too much time on their hands or maybe could use a little shock treatment to snap them back into reality.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 crashes when exporting to Encore CS3

"Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down.  We will attempt to save your current project."
That is the error message.  I am editing an AVCHD project in which I already converted as an .mpg prior to importing into Premiere (since CS3 does not import AVCHD natively).  This is the first time I am doing this workflow, as a client has given me AVCHD files to work with.  The project RT is 1 hr 2 min.  I need to create a DVD and Blu-ray of this project.
    System Specs
    ~Processor:  AMD Phenom 9600 Quad-Core Processor 2.30GHz
    ~RAM:  4.00 GB
    ~OS:  Windows Vista 32-bit
~Have the most recent updates for all CS3 programs
    I tried:
    Exporting to Encore
~Tried various settings for DVD.  NTSC Progressive Widescreen High Quality, Medium, etc.
~Tried the preset for exporting Blu-ray to Encore.
~Created a new sequence with about 7 min of the project to see if it was a corrupt file; same results.
    Using Adobe Media Encoder
~Used various presets and custom settings with the same result [error message; Premiere "stops working" and then crashes]
~Created a new sequence with about 7 min of the project to see if it was a corrupt file; same results.
I observed the Windows Task Manager when Premiere is opened and then when it crashes.  The RAM is at 1.12GB before the project is opened, goes up to 2.17GB when it is opened, and remains about the same when it crashes.  The CPU Usage is about 4-10% before the project is opened, spikes dramatically (+/- 10-80%) when Premiere is opened as well when it crashes.
I appreciate any and all help.  Thank you to everybody in advance who will contribute a solution to my problem!

  • Always asynchronous audio if I export an MXFop1a file with 8 channel audio from Premiere 2014.1 for delivery to XDCam HD U1 Sony.

I try now for hours to export an MXF op1a with 8 channel audio from Premiere CC2014.1  and with AME 2014.1 to copy the file on my XDCam drive u1 to a disc.
The file is always asynchronous after 20 or 30 minutes. The project is synchronous and also other codecs are synchronous if I export them. So I think it's a bug...
I use the newest Sony XDCam drivers. Also parts with no audio can't be render with intelligent render. If I use this option, Premiere or AME crashes...
I work on a mac system with 10.8.5 OSX.
Does anybody have the same problems or any ideas to solve my problem...
    Best regards,
    Florian

The following will answer both your questions a) and b).
Click on your master timeline and press cmd+0 (zero) to bring up Sequence Settings, then click on the Audio Outputs tab on the right. Click on the Outputs option and change it to 6. You can leave them as Stereo pairs.
Now, back on your timeline, you need to make sure all your audio is organised so each track. A1, A2, A3, A4 etc has all the relevant media on it.
Then, on the left of the timeline you see the Destination toggle buttons, then you see the Padlocks to lock tracks, then you have the Toggle Auto Select squares. If you right-click on the Toggle Auto Select squares you bring up a little sub-menu, at the top of this list you'll see Audio Outputs, which will show the stereo channels for that particular track. As you've changed the number of Audio Outputs in the Sequence Settings, the list will show: 1&2, 3&4, 5&6. You just tick whichever channels you want.
In your case, you have dialogue on the first 4 tracks, no problem, just go down through tracks 1,2,3 and 4 as described above and assign these to Audio Outputs 1&2.
Then just go down through your music and effects audio tracks and assign them accordingly.
Now, when you export your timeline as a self-contained media file, it will have different audio channels.
I hope that makes sense. When you change the number of audio outputs as described in the first step, I believe the rest of it is fairly self explanatory, once you know where the settings are.

  • Exporting to encore dvd with trial version of PPro CS3

    My question:
Are we supposed to be able to use Encore DVD with the trial version of PPro CS3?
If so, then what are the proper steps?
    Background:
i have downloaded a trial version of PPro CS3. I have wanted to check out the Encore DVD maker that now is included with the PPro. However, when i attempt to export a timeline to Encore, the 'export to encore' is not active. In other words, i see the words 'export to encore' but they are faded and thus the link to it is 'dead'.

Trial does not with any flavor of MPEG due to license restrictions
You may import-edit-export DV AVI type 2
Encore is not activated until you pay and convert the demo to real

  • Exporting to Encore Burn issue!!

Ok so for some reason this problem just started! If I export to Encore without menus to just burn a copy of a sequense it gives me an error. It will render fine but when in encore and building the dvd it gives me this
PGC "project name" has an error at "Time code"
Internal software error %0, line (project name)-PGC Info:Name=(project name), Pref=bpgc, (time code)
Its always like the last few tenths of a second and I have tried shortning the sequence so its before the error but it just gives me a new one.
Does anybody have anything to help me with this??

    Simon,
There are two very, very long threads in the Encore forum, on PGC Error:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bc2a3c4/185
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bc120a8/5
There might be more. Stanley Jones has done a lot of testing on this error and has some observations. Maybe one, or more, will be similar to you issue.
Be sure to click on "◄ First," to expand and show ALL messages. There might well be several links in these to others.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Exporting to Encore - build errors - ? "end action" and "Title remote"

    Hello,
When I choose to export to encore, I and when it is time to build the DVD, it tells me I have 2 errors:
    - End action not set
    - Title remote not set
Why are these errors appearing, does anyone know ?
What I am doing, is exporting a portion of my timeline to encore, when the DVD is ready to be burnt, the DVD tray opens, I then cancel the process because I don't wish to burn to DVD, and then from there, I press "build" which will build the .vobs directly to the hard drive. It is then, after pressing "build" that I get the 2 errors above.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Dave.

You can also learn about them by reading the Encore manual or Help file.

  • Exporting to Encore for Blu-ray

    Hi all
Couple of questions guys before I get stuck into some blu-ray projects
I have a couple of HDV projects that I want to get onto a Blu-ray disc. I have a burner and a test timeline went well - using /export to encore/ with default settings for MPEG2 Blu-ray / direct burn no authoring.
However, if I want to get a few projects on one disc I need to export manually and use encore properly. From Premiere AME I am not sure whether to use the H264-Blu-ray option or the MPEG2-Blu-ray. I assume in either case I set the size to 1440x1080 to match hdv?
Looking at the settings, I think I will get a smaller filesize using H264 and I just know its gonna take longer, but is there anything else to consider - will h264 result in better quality on end disc?
Now when I get to Encore, should I change default settings for new Blu-ray project to 1440x1080 - or leave at default 1920x1440. I understand I need to stop encore from re trancoding.
Any pointers would be much appreciated
    Thanks
    Mike

Thank you! I've made it to the transcoding stage! (So my fingers are crossed!)
I tried saving the original PSD files as new PSD files (as the original were temp files; which, in hindsight, might have been the issue, as I hear different drives tend to mess up Encore's transcoding process), then I re-imported the PSDs as new menus within Encore. Sure, I had to re-link all the chapters again, but it was made a lot easier thanks to Encore's "Auto-name (sic.)" feature that automatically detects chapter names. Thanks so much! I could kiss you. So many hours wasted trying to resolve this! I really hope I can get this prototype burned overnight!

  • Export to Encore from Premiere - Set DVD Title?

    I am new to Encore.
I tried to Export to Encore from Premiere. The DVD turns out fine, but the DVD is named "Untitled Project" and I'd like to give the disc a custom title.
I saved the Encore project, gave the disc a title, and the titling works out fine, but the DVD has no sound.
I have tried both of these processes two times each, and the same thing happens.
Given the choice between a custom title and sound, I certainly want the disc to have sound. But how do I get both?
    Help help help.

    Thank you for your reply.
I used a short disc title in Encore, which was PANDORA. The titles winds up on the DVD, but no sound.
But when I export the video from Premiere to Encore, I don't see a place where I can enter a custom name. So it names the DVD Untitled Project. Can you tell me where that is in Premiere?
