Exporting to Entourage

How do I export my Address book to another App? I need something more professional; handling the mailing list with the Address book is not working.

Yeah, lloks like it was introduced in 2004.
I have 2004.
See this -> ScriptBuilders - Export-Import Entourage 1.3.10
Doesn't list Leopard but most likely it simply was completed before Leopard was released and hasn't been tested.
Give it a try.
Herer's some other scripts -> ScriptBuilders - More scripts
and here -> Paul Berkowitz - iDisk (he wrote some of the scripts above)
and info here -> MSDN - Dan Crevier's Blog

  • Exporting from Entourage to Mac Mail

I have a large Entourage inbox. Thousands of Emails. When I try to export from Entourage everything seems to work fine. But, when I import, only about a third come through. Is there a sure fire way to get all emails from Entourage to Mac Mail. I am using Mountain Lion.

    Alex,
This thread is getting unbelievably messy for what originally was such a simple question. Nowhere did I say that the procedure I suggested was meant for a particular type of account or mailbox. It allows any messages to be exported in standard mbox format. It’s Stanley who mentioned IMAP as an alternative procedure to transfer mail between mail clients, and what I said in the post you’re replying to is precisely that IMAP has nothing to do with what I was talking about...
What does “suitable for archiving” mean? If you have any questions that have nothing to do with the problem of transferring mail from Mail to Entourage, which is what we’re supposed to be talking about here, please either find a thread that discusses the same questions or start a new topic to properly discuss them in their own thread instead of hijacking someone else’s thread. Here is a recent example of such a thread:

  • Exporting from Entourage to Address Book and iCal

    Dear All,
I have a corrupt Entourage database which is making syncing to my iPhone through the Apple apps impossible. as such and with a huge leap of faith to mobileme I'm ditching Entourage.
Anybody got any easy ways to export the contacts from Entourage to Address Book?
On iCal I tried the import from Entourage feature but three weeks later (I kid not) it still hadn't completed so I'm giving up on calendar and that is probably a result of the corrupt database.
Anyway, any help would be hugely appreciated!
    Cheers and happy new year,
    Paul.

Like iCal Mail will import from Entourage. Just select that option from
Mail's File menu, then click on the Entourage import option.

  • Export from Entourage to Outlook

Hi. I'm sorry, this is not related to Mail but I was wondering if anyone knows how to export Entourage emails to Outlook. Even better, how to keep them synchronized!
I have to travel with a PC (hate it), and would like to be able to take my emails with me...

By the way, I found the answer:
    1) Install Eudora Mail Lite on your Windows machine (free)
    2) Drag each mail folder from Entourage onto your desktop (create a folder for this purpose)
    3) Import into Eudora
    4) Open each folder in Eudora. This activates the folder.
    5) Open Outlook Express. Use the IMPORT function to import the file into Outlook Express.
    6) Open Outlook. Import from Outlook Express.
    Bingo.

  • Can't export from Entourage

Any attempt to export yields an error message saying that it can't continue because an email is corrupted, and that the database needs rebuilding using the database utility.
Did that. Verified it. Still get the same prob during export.
    Any ideas?

Every e-mail client has its strengths and weaknesses. For one attachments and HTML support varies by client, and while some newer ones support new web browser info better, plain text is still the only reliable means of sending e-mail. Your idea of doing a year at a time mitigates the risk of data loss, though if you haven't backed up from prior to the data corruption, until you clean up the e-mail you risk loss of data in the e-mail. This is another reason to keep a copy on the server. At least it is not then at the mercy of the application doing e-mail and more at the mercy of the internet provider staying stable. Really depends whom you think is more reliable.

  • Exporting old Entourage emails into Mail

Is there a way to do this? I used to use Entourage and have retained in Entourage a bunch of emails I want to keep. Our now only use Mail. Can I send these emails into my Mail folders?

Why not post in the Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard > Mail and Address Book forum area here:

  • Export Windows Outlook 2003 notes into Entourage

Is there a way to export notes from Windows outlook and import into Entourage.
I tried Google for days. Its surprising that Microsoft would miss a feature like that. I have about 3977 important notes. I got an iMac to replace the windows machine.
    Appreciate for your help.

Hi, this is not a tekky answer, but you could cutNpaste onto a new document in AbiWord (free App)
    http://www.abisource.com/
Once saved you could the probably import/export to Entourage....L

  • Exporting Entourage Account to Mail.app

I'd like to export my Entourage settings for an Exchange email account into Mail.app. When I open Mail.app and try the "import" option, it doesn't do anything. I have tried copying the information under the settings for this particular Entourage email account into Mail.app, but am unable to connect to the Exchange server.

I'd like to see this too. I got a new job and CAN NOT get MAIL to work, but the account settings work in ENTOURAGE. I ONLY NEED TO IMPORT THE EMAIL ACCOUNT - NOT the contacts, calendar, etc.
CAN I IMPORT AN EMAIL ACCOUNT - (NOT a "Mailbox")
    HELP & THANKS!

  • Address Book Importing From Entourage

    Hello,
With the latest version of Microsoft Office on my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro, when I export from Entourage to import into Address Book, there is a problem with some data loss. It seems as if not all telephone numbers and email addresses are imported. The tab delimited text file that Entourage creates looks normal when viewing the information from Address Book prior to importing, but some of the data is left out anyway. All other data (addresses, notes, etc...) seems OK. Any ideas?
    Thanks

Entourage can export vCards which can be directly imported by Address Book. Simply select all your Entourage contacts and drag them into an empty folder on your Desktop. This will give you a folder full of vCards. Import them directly into Address Book.

  • How can I transfer my Entourage 2004 (Snow Leopard) emails to my new MacBookPro (Lion)

Just got a new 15" MacBook Pro (Lion) and would like to move my saved emails from my older Intel MacBook Pro 17" (Snow Leopard). I enabled sharing, but cannot open Entourage or find a way to import or export the emails. I can copy the archived emails file to the new computer, but there's no way to get the emails into Mail. I read that getting a trial in MSFT Office 2011 and importing the emails to Outlook from the saved archives might be the only solution.
Before I go through this process, I'd like to ask if there's any other way to accomplish this migration.

Copy the Microsoft User Data folder to the new computer's /Home/Documents/ folder. Open Mail and select Import Mailboxes from the File menu. Click the radio button for Entourage and follow instructions. Similarly, you can import contacts into Address Book and, I think, iCal.
    Correction:
iCal will import from Entourage. However, Address Book does not in a similar way. You need to create a vCard file from Entourage itself. If I remember correctly you can create a temporary folder, then export your Entourage contacts as vCards and save in the folder. Transfer the folder to the new computer. Open Address Book. Open the folder of vCards. Select all of them and drag the selection into Address Books list section - the middle section.

  • How can I move address book information between Address Book and Entourage?

(I have the same question regarding iCal and Entourage.) I have a lot of important information to enter, info that would be very difficult to relocate. I had some problems with iCal awhile back (it started randomly deleting events), so I am trying to figure out which program(s) to use. Since I don't have much experience with these, I would ideally like to be able to start in Entourage since that program seems better laid out for me, but be able to export the information to Address Book and iCal so I can make use of the Address Book widget feature, etc.
Is it realistically possible to export from Entourage into AB and iCal and how do you it?
Also, I have a first generation iPod, and just got an iPod Touch so that I could have access to this information on the go, along with the rather lame "notes" approach to entering information (while I hope for a free upgrade that will allow me to edit my calendar). So I am also trying to figure out:
How do I export Entourage information onto my iPod Touch? Can it be done directly easily now or does it need to go through AB and iCal?
I've done that on my old iPod, but it was very confusing between "identities"?? and remembering exactly how to do it again one I figured it out. I had to locate a copy of Tiger just to manage to get the iPod Touch, so I am grateful for any suggestions of the best way to do this.

''' "I thought FF29 was supposed to be the most customizable Firefox yet?" ''' <br />
Whoever told you that was incorrect, as far as I am concerned. Firefox still is more customizable that the "competition", but not as much as previous versions were.
The Home button can be moved, but the Back / Forward combo button is attached to the Address Bar - they can't be separated.
The combo Stop / Reload button is locked in the Address Bar.<br />
The old "Activity Indicator" is gone. Deemed unnecessary with the loading animation on the left corner of each tab, where the Favicon appears once the page is fully loaded.

As users start installing other extensions I think they are going to run into compatibility issues where the new extension "expects" the user to be using what Firefox came with - not the "retro" features.

  • Apple advice on importing Entourage calendar from iCal - taking forever!

    Hi everyone,
got onto Apple support today asking about moving our entourage calendar to iCal. So, sounded simple enough. Opened iCal, chose import, selected entourage and away we go. 7 hours later (no, I'm not exaggerating) it has got about 3/4 of the way and now the progress bar hasn't moved more than about a millimeter in the past hour. What the heck do I do now? It's almost 2am here - just let it continue running until the morning? At this rate it might take the rest of the week to complete!
Why would it take so long? Is this normal? Any faster way to achieve this? What about if I sync entourage and iCal, then when everything is there, export the entourage calendar from within iCal, then delete it, and then import it into the Home or Work calendar - would that work. This is so frustrating

Same thing here. Drives me crazy. Been importing for days now, always have to force quit the app since it's stuck at around 75% of the import.
Is there any way to get this to work?

  • Problems Migrating Entourage 2004 to All-Mac Apps

    Greetings All,
Background: After careful consideration, I've moved from a Treo 650 and Entourage 2004 scenario to the new iPhone and all-Mac Apps platform.
It hasn't gone easily: lots of missing, critical data (below).
I don't understand why thousands of business people aren't posting about this: my data is invaluable, and compromised by chunks of it missing.
I have now spent about 15 hours researching this, and posted in several Google Groups. It's rather tedious, and I have lots of friendly people answering rather than people with answers. I like friendly people, but seriously, I'd rather have a hostile person who knows how to do this at this point.
I have read in several places of the scripts of a Paul Berkowitz called "Export-Import Entourage 1310," but the documentation provided doesn't make clear these issues are addressed.
I have written (five times) Mark/Space regarding their Missing Sync for the iPhone, but they have reading-comprehension issues, and I'm still not clear if they can get the notes from either my old Treo 650 via it into my iPhone.
    Here is what is missing:
    a) Can Paul's scripts (or anyone's!) re-export/merge Contacts such
that categorized/grouped are preserved? This is of great importance.
    b) Will it export Entourage's notes, and will they be
correctly titled, and in a useful place on the iPhone? (I have about
    400 notes), again categorized?
    c) Any way to export my Entourage filters/rules to Apple's Mail?
    d) Any way to export the large mailing lists (groups) I had in
    Entourage to Apple's Mail?
Thank you in advance for your informed answers, and I must say that this has been as annoying as Apple thinking we can't figure that when AT&T raised the rates, the savings on the new phone was wiped out.
Think Better, Apple. If you're trying to get us to use your platform, document how to make the switch.
    Thanks,
    km

    To repost from elsewhere:
Well, no one at MarkSpace or MS could fix it.
I did. I figured it out. 30 hours of Groups, trial and error, and then, a Eureka, elegant moment.
20 minutes for the poor sap trying to get their data out of Entourage/their Treo.
Now who is going to pay me?
    k

  • Can't import from Entourage into Mail

I'm trying to import my Entourage 2008 email into Apple Mail 6.0.  Everytime I try I get an error message, "Error - Unable to connect to Microsoft Entourage.  Try opening Microsoft Entourage first, then run the import".  I tried that and it didn't work either.  I exported my Entourage data as a .rge but then when I try to import it, there is a nested duplication of all the folders from Entourage. And I've got too many emails/folders to drag them.  Any ideas or suggestions?

This is too late for Norm, but incase anyone else is having this problem, it may be due to having Office 2011 installed (ignore if this is not your case).
I would find the same error on trying to import from Entourage, and after digging around a bit, tracked the problem to having Office 2011 installed. Once I completely removed Office 2011, the import worked fine.

  • How do I migrate MS Entourage Mac (2008) email to TB?

I have thousands of emails in MS Entourage on the Mac (2008) and would love to import them all into TB. Have tried dragging individual folders from MS Entourage to the desktop, but they won't import into TB.
Any thoughts would be very helpful.
    thanks in advance,
    Mike

    If MS Entourage:
    mailbox folders location:
    ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/your identity
MS Entourage: Info on creating an mbox file :
    http://www.office.mvps.org/video/mbox/index.html
Maybe there is an issue with the ImportExport tool - maybe you do have a Entourage mbox file but the tool somehow has a bug. This would be worth reporting to the author.
    I notice:
Version 2.7.0.3 Released March 22, 2012 137.2 kB Works with Thunderbird 1.0 and later
    Changelog 2.7.0.3 version
    - added again german locale (thanks to Piotr Niemiec);
    - added a check to block import of mbox files coming from Eudora, since Thunderbird can't handle them;
I'll send a report to the author - his email address is available via the webpage.
    Another options:'''
Export the Entourage mail as .eml files and then use the ImportExporttool to import .eml files.
Create a folder on desktop to store the .eml files.
Open an Entouarge folder and highlight all emails in folder, then drag them into the desktop folder. They should be stored as individual .eml files.
