  • Big problems exporting from Premiere Pro CS3

    Hey all.
Would be massively grateful if anyone here could help me out. I'm in the process of trying to export a 23 and a half minute project from Premiere Pro CS3. I've tried exporting to different formats, (Quicktime, MPEG2, etc..) but keep arriving at the same conclusion. The process will freeze midway through, and I'm greeted by the following error messages:
    "premiere pro debug event
premiere pro has encountered an error
    [..\..\Src\PPixHandleUtilities.cpp-114]"
    When I close that, another window pops up saying;
    "export error
application failed to return a video frame.
    cancelling the operation."
I'm not really sure where to go from here. Previously during the process of editing this project, I would occasionally get a message telling me that premiere pro was "running low on system memory". Fearing this to be the problem I was having while exporting, I attempted to export an extremely low quality version of the project, but arrived at the same conclusion. I also wondered if there was a corrupt frame or clip somewhere that was causing the issue, so I overlayed one whole transparent clip over the whole sequence and tried to export, but again, the same result.
I now have to put all my faith in you Adobe Wizards! Please ask me any questions that might help you to arrive at what may be causing the problem, I'll answer them the best I can
    Many thanks!
    Andy

    >13.4GB free
    FAR too small !!!
The program itself uses more than that for temporary working files
Also, unless you already have a 2nd hard drive or eSata external, you are below specification
Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
    Partition = Crash http://forums.adobe.com/thread/957286
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for SD (Standard Definition) video editing
Steve Grisetti in the Premiere Elements forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856208 and Jim Simon in the Premiere Pro forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856433 use USB externals for editing
A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... I have not used the eSata Dock below... for reference only, YMMV and all the usual disclaimers

  • Unable to play Cineform avi files in Premiere Pro CS3

I am using Cineform NeoHD version 5.3.2 to convert the MXF files from my Canon XF300 into Cineform AVI.
Then I import these AVI files into Premiere Pro CS3 and here is where the problem begins.
Premiere is unable to play these Cineform files. All I get is about a second of audio, and a still frame of the video. This happens both in the source window, and also on the timeline.
The Cineform AVI files play perfectly fine when using Virtualdub for playback, but Windows media player behave just like Premiere.
Everything worked fine a week ago. Premiere appeared to use something called "ffdshow" to play the Cineform files, and I could edit without any trouble.
A few days ago, when I tried the same, that's when the problems came. Whenever I hit Play button in Premiere, a popup window came up, saying Premiere wanted to use ffdshow, and the options was "never", "no once", "yes once", "yes always".
When everything worked a week ago, I had to use the "yes always" option.
Now, it does not matter which option I use, Premiere will not play the Cineform files.
I did not make any changes to my computer between the day everything was okay, and when the problem appeared.
A Cineform representative suggested "ffdshow" is the troublemaker, so I uninstalled ffdshow and removed any traces of it I could find, but the same problem still exist.
    Then I uninstalled Cineform NeoHD
Uninstalled and reinstalled Production Premium CS3 suite
    Reinstalled Cineform NeoHD
Still same problem, nothing has changed.
It does not matter if I use 50i or 25p source files.
    My system: (Laptop)
    Windows Vista ultimate 64-bit
    Intel 2,66GHz quad core CPU
    4GB ram
    Nvidia Geforce 8800M GTX
3x internal 7200rpm harddrives set up with raid-0
    Anyone else experiencing this?
Any ideas what might be wrong?

dont know , but this stuff might fix your prob.. overwrite whatever ffdshow screwed up...
    cfrepair utility:
    http://www.siliconimaging.com/DigitalCinema/SiliconImaging_support.html
    cineform codec (neo player)
    http://estore.cineform.com/NeoPlayer.aspx
never used the cfrepair thing..but did install neoplayer which gave me the codec to use cs3 with cf raw files ( sample of cf raw at the si 2k site -- avi ext )
ps.... to keep overhead down on my computer I took the resulting cineform "player" out of my startup directory....as it wants to run in background when you install it...no need for that for my purpose of just getting the codec

  • Is microsoft avi the highest quality format to export an avi file in premiere pro cs4?

    Hello,
I exported an avi file in premiere pro cs4 in media encoder using Microsoft avi format but the quality turned out poor on dvd, what's the highest quality format I can use?
    Please help
    Thanks
    Elio

    Elio,
As has been stated, DV-AVI is not the format FOR a DVD-Video. However, it can be used (and often is) as a transport medium into a DVD authoring program, like Encore.
Can you please outline your workflow from PrPro to the final DVD, and is it a DVD-Video (will contain MPEG-2 material in VOB "containers"), or a DVD-Data, that is then played on a computer with something like Windows Media Player, VLC, MediaPlayer Classic HC, etc.?
Good luck, and please let us know exactly what you are doing, and the programs used.

  • When importing MPEG files into Premiere Pro CS3 the audio sequence is missing.

We have two computers running Premiere Pro CS3.  Our computer most recently installed with PPCS3 will only import an audio sequence with the MPEG video file when I extract the file directly from the DVD.  When I take the video folder from the DVD and drag to my Desktop, importing to PP from the desktop, it will only import the video sequence; audio does not appear.  What would cause this happen and how can I fix this?  It's too time consuming to continuously use my DVD Extractor.

1st, that old program has a different forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_previous
2nd, To work with AC3 sound files in Premiere CS3, copy the ad2ac3dec.dll file from the Encore CS3 directory into the Premiere directory

  • Audio problems when exporting files from Premiere Pro CS5

I try to post in English.
I have audio problems in Premiere Pro CS5 when exporting a film.
I cut an interview. The sound seems not to be synchronized when exporting a file. It doesn´t matter what file format I export. On cutting points the sound is different to the sound I hear in premiere. In premiere the audio sounds very good but in exported file I hear cracks on cutting points.
When I reimport the audio file an put it in the timeline the synch point is correct but the interview differs about 2 frames to the original audio in premiere.
The material was filmed on Sony ex3. The files are XDCam HD. I have updated the production suite.
    Thanks for answers

Also, make sure that you check the box marked "Export Audio" if you want a MP4 extension.

  • Exporting multiple audio channels from Premiere Pro CS6 in MXF OP1a

I have a Premiere Pro project with multiple audio channels and I want to export them as individual channels in a MXF-file.
    Method:
When I created a new sequence I choose "Multichannel" from the "Tracks" page. When I export the MXF OP1a, I choose 8 channels from the "Audio" page. I make sure that none of the channels are muted.
    Result:
The rendered file contains 8 channels as I want it to, but only the first two channels contains audio (main left + right), the rest of the channels are empty. Channel 1 and 2 contains the audio from all channels, but I want the channels to be seperated in the same way as they are layered in Premiere.
Any ideas what I can do?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hey Guys,
I'm having problems exporting an 8 channel audio mxf for a broadcast client. The mix they want is as follows:
Track 01: Full Programme Mix L
Track 02: Full Programme Mix R
    Track 03: International Sound L
    Track 04: International Sound R
Track 05: Music and Effects L
Track 06: Music and Effects R
    Track 07: VO Mono
    Track 08: Interview Mono
I have setup the sequence following this video on vimeo and am fairly confident I have the sequence settings correct. https://vimeo.com/38501157
I also can export a multichannel mxf. But all my tracks are exported as mono and I am therefore not maintaining my L and R as set up in my sequence
The problem is on exporting that since Tracks 01 and 02 are bounced down to 1 + 2 it means that my Track 01 (Panned L) is getting bounced down onto my Track 02 aswell and thus it does not remain seperate. Has anyone delivered a similar format for a broadcaster and come across this problem with Premiere Pro and know a solution?
Any help would be much appreciated
    Thanks

  • How to transfer and use the project files from Premiere Pro cs6 MAC OS to Premiere Pro CS6 Windows

Is there any plugin or tool that can help me to transfer my project files along data edited on adobe premiere cs6 MAC OS to the adobe premiere pro cs 6 on windows PC

When transferring a project from one computer to another,to stop errors such as these, its essential to ensure that the project is copied with all the files and folders in exactly the same locations. Also before opening the project on the new computer, you need to set up a new project and set all the preferences to be exactly the same as on the first computer. Then when you open the project, premiere will find all the files in all the right places. Even then you may need to re-link some files. Just follow the prompts when Premiere asks "Where is file...."
We use USB hard drives to store students projects on and they are used on many different computers without problems, as the preferences are all set to be the same.

  • Exporting XAVC 2k files from premiere

    Hello All,
Any help/feedback would be much appreciated.
Shot on Sony F5: XAVC 2K format
Import into Premiere and can edit no problem.
But to export original resolution...I have tried checking the MATCH sequence box and end up with footage that is not the same. Or at-least can not be used in other applications, that can use the original un edited clips.
Tried to see what teh seq settings were and there appears to be no setting for this codec.
    What could I be missing?
    Thanks
    jackMars55

From the Premiere Pro export dialog select MXF OP1a as the format. Once that is selected scroll down to the Video Codec pull-down menu and you will see multiple flavors of XAVC listed there.
    Hope that helps,

  • Exporting project from Premiere Pro CS3 to Encore CS3

If I export and specify no menues and specify burn, medium quality to DVD, Encore asks me to insert blank media into a CD R/W drive. I have to cancel the operation and select the DVD R/W drive that is also displayed in the device delection.. How do I make it default to the DVD R/W drive when asking for blank media?

  • Issue sending files from Premiere Pro to Audition CS6

    Hi there,
I'm currently editing a 35 minute music documentary which has many audio clips from interviews and from tracks. I wanted to balance the audio so it was all around the same volume and then normalize it so it can be released on DVD and the internet without it being too quiet or too loud. I saw that it was possible to do this in Audition so I right clicked my sequence and chose to edit it in Adobe Audition. When it finally loaded it said that it had an error: the file could not be found. I then tried to export a single audio clip from the timeline and the same thing happened.
My footage and audio is definitely there in the project and I can render it, play it back and quit the project and load it back up again. One thing may be that the footage is stored on a NAS but I can't really see why that would be a problem. It was a problem loading it in through Prelude as there seemed to be no way to navigate to a network drive so I had to create a shortcut to it and then follow it that way.
While I'm generally impressed with the CS6 suite I have it seems like the integration it boasts lets it down sometimes. After logging clips in Prelude you cannot carry across the metadata with those clips into PPro and you can't lengthen the clips if you cut them a little too short. While the After Effects Dynamic Link is a massive time saver when adding in VFX or masking out mistakes in footage, it does seem a little clunky. Sending projects to SpeedGrade ends up being so complicated (often with reels being unable to be loaded etc.) that I find it's just easier to use Premiere or AE and sacrifice the precision. Finally this problem sending audio to Audition just makes me think that there's either something really wrong with my installation/computer or that the bugs in the 'integrated' suite haven't really been ironed out.
Any help would be much appreciated,
    Ben

Thanks both of you for your speedy replies. Ideally I would be editing off my internal drive (or perhaps a RAID 5 tower through an eSATA conection?) but unfortunately I'm editing on my laptop which only has about 180GB free. The entire project is 250GB so I can't really transfer that across and then relink it all. I think what I may have to do if there is no workaround is just individually go through each clip and set the gain so it's all roughly the same. Painstaking process with the 150 or so clips but if it's the only way to get it done... I need to finish the project by this weekend so no time to order in an external drive (and no money as I don't get paid until delivery of the project). Thanks again for your help and if you have anny other suggestions as to how to speed things up they would be very welcome.
P.S. For a future solution do you think editing off a tower of four or more hard drives with a RAID 5 configuration through eSATA would work? Long term is that I buy a decent editing desktop but unfortunately I don't have the money for one in the near future.

  • Timecode from .m2t not visible in Premiere Pro CS3

    Hi,
I've done a couple of HDV test captures using OnLocation to create an .m2t file. The DVR in OnLocation correctly displays timecode from the camera (Canon XH-A1) while recording and playing back clips. However, when I import the file into Premiere Pro CS3 I don't see the start time code in the file properties or when bringing up the "Timecode" window (off the file menu). In order to sync multi-camera clips I end up having to manually enter the time code using the info displayed by the OnLocation DVR for that clip.
What am I doing wrong here - I thought that I read somewhere that Premiere Pro would be able to directly read the timecode stamp from the .m2t file?
    /BILLW

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, guys, but as I'm just starting my transition to tapeless I'm having the same issue.  I'm recording to both tape and to the MRC1k on my Z5s; the TC comes in fine when I capture the tape, but all the transferred/imported m2t files from the MRC1k all start at zero.  Normally I wouldn't care, but the main reason I dumped all my old cams and bought four Z5s with MRC1ks was for the ability to do real time of day free run timecode and sync the four cams together via TC LINK, while still going tapeless, for supposedly easy multicam sync by timecode on the timeline.
Using DVMP Pro I was able to confirm that the clips do in fact have the correct timecode on them (but no values in Properties for Prem Start and such).
Anyhow, anyone figured this out yet?
