Exporting to PDF - How Can I Get A Small File Size When Using Lots of Vector Art?

I am trying to create a small PDF file for e-book distribution purposes. My Indesign pages contain a variety of photographs, vector icons and vector maps.
A publisher in Britain who does similar books on a Mac using Creative Suite was able to create a 22-page document very similar to mine (similar icons, graphics, density, etc) that is only 2.84 mb, a small fraction of the file size that I'm getting! I've included a sample page of his below, which is a low-res jpeg, but on the original PDF all of the text and images (except the jpeg cliff background) are super sharp - they look like vectors when you zoom in. I've also included screenshots of his PDF export settings.
I don't know if he's exporting directly out of Indesign, but my best guess is that he is.
My vector-based icons, numbers and maps are bloating my PDFs considerably. When I remove them, the Indesign and exported PDF file sizes drop dramatically. For the life of me, I can't figure out how he got such small PDF files sizes using so much vector art! The PDF graphic compression settings don't seem to include any options for vector art.
My vector art graphics (numbering, icons, maps) are all saved as Illustrator AI files and then placed in Indesign as linked graphics. My best guess as to why I can't achieve smaller PDF files is I'm either doing something wrong with the vector graphics themselves or handling/exporting them improperly out of Indesign.
I am using CS4 for PC and am on a Dell Machine running Windows 7.

In MIRO, how can I get a credit to balance when using dr/cr lines?

When processing a logistics invoice verification document via MIRO, we're trying to post a credit memo against a purchase order with muliple lines (one return, and on non-return line). The value of the return line is greater, and the invoice is billing for receipts/returns on mulitple lines on the PO (it has a credit amount for the entire return to be posted against the return line, and a restocking fee to be posted against a text based PO line).
In MIRO, I have selected credit memo and am posting a credit for a gross amount of $550 in the header. The return line I'm trying to post against is for $575, and the non-return line for the restocking fee is for $25. However, when I'm posting against both, the system is indicating that I'm out of balance by $50. It appears that it's not calculating the $25 as a credit. I've tried looking at documents around posting against returns and posting credits, but haven't seen anything that addresses this scenario. I've also tried using negative amounts, but SAP does not accept these. We're currently using SAP ECC 6.0. How can I get this to balance?

Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.

I have an HP all-in-one C5140. When I print from iPhoto the dialog that comes up has a "Presets" drop down at the bottom. One of the choices is "Print from Photo Tray." Is that there on yours? If not make sure you have the latest software from HP.

How can I get my music files back when they are no longer on the computer?

So the problem I am having is that I cannot play songs on the playlist because "the file cannot be located" error. I checked the iTunes media folder and they weren't there. I searched my whole computer and they still could not be found.
The story behind the problem is that I pretty sure all the songs I am having troubles with were ones I purchased on my iPod Touch itself. Several months ago when I plugged my iPod into the computer so it could sync ( my iPod is old and can't connect to the WiFi anymore forcing me to buy songs on my computer again.) The songs purchased on my iPod showed up on my playlist on my computer but they had the "!" next to them and they were no longer on my iPod and when I tried to get them back on I got the "cannot be located" error. I then checked the iTunes music folder again and the only songs there were songs I purchased on my computer.
I am extremely frustrated. When I go to the iTunes store under "Purchases" they all show up however there is no way for me to download them again onto my computer because the "download" button cannot be clicked on because I am assuming it thinks the songs are already on the computer, but I know they aren't. I tried organizing my songs option and that didn't do anything.
Is there any way to download them again? Or at least tell the iTunes store that they aren't located on my computer anymore so I can download them again?
If I lost hundreds of dollars of music because the iTunes software is a piece a ****...

You might want to post this question to the iTunes Windows forum rather than the iPod forum - try iTunes for Windows
Just a note of encouragement - I doubt very much you've lost your music - they remember what you've purchased forever and as long as the content is still on the iTunes store you should never loose anything (however sometimes content is removed from the store for various reasons and in that cause if you don't have a local copy on your iTunes library it is not recoverable - but that issue is relatively infrequent) - it's just a question of why iTunes won't let you download it again. good luck...

The black box actually asked for a password for a new keyring that I created yesterday named. When the box requested that specific keyring, I believed I know who was asking and why.

2) Yesterday I made the subclips with the In-Out Points and Command-U, the benefit is that I've seen the clip before naming it. Now I'm using markers, it's benefit is that I can write comment and (the later) clip name at once, the drawback is that I have to view to the next shot's beginning before knowing what the shot contains.
But now I found out that I can reconnect my clips independently to the format I converted the master clip to. I reconnected the media to the original AVI file and it worked, too! The more I work with, the more I'm sold on it... - although it doesn't seem to be able to read and use the date information within the DV AVI.
1) Ok, I tried something similar within FCE. Just worked, but the file size still remains. Which codec settings should I use? Is the export to DV in MOV with a quality of 75% acceptable for both file size and quality? Or would be encoding as H.264 with best quality an option for archiving, knowing that I have to convert it back to DV if I (maybe) wan't to use it for editing later? Or anything else?

Is the iPod still singed into the account isn Settings>iTunes and App Stores and SettingsZ>iCloudl? If it is then I would not be concerned.

For the other "problem", go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says Prevent iPod....automatically syncing.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

This was the scenario:
The first time I updated, it was only my music that was lost.
When I got my music back, I lost my apps.
When I got my apps back, my contacts, notes and photos were lost.
Now I got back everything except for my photos.
(Yes, I restored from backup several times since the first update.)
Do you think if I try restoring from back up, my photos that were taken from my ipod will be restored finally?

Everyone who logs into Facebook on my Firefox has this problem however if we use Internet Explorer - facebook looks normal.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.
* Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Another way is to open your Time Machine back up or clone (if you have one) and copy the App Store app from the /Applications to your Macintosh HD's /Application folder.
Right click on the Time Machine icon in the Menu Bar.
Select Enter Time Machine; then navigate to a date you know it was still there and copy if from the /Applications folder.

How can I get a small window to open when a link is clicked (AS2)

Hi i,m developing a HTML site and used one animated flash button(AS2) I want a small sized window to open when a user clicks on a button.
The window will contain information that i want to display.It dosnt require a normal 800x600 window to open. I just want a 1/4 size of 800x600 etc. Is this possible and if so how.
I havnt done this before

Look at the Methods section and choose whichever suits your needs, the first one listed does not.
