Exporting to shutterfly

After installing Shutterfly's Export Assistant for iPhoto,
I'm unable to export directly from iPhoto 5.0 to shutterfly and I can't seem to get into the Share/Export feature to adjust size, type (JPEG,etc) of photos. What to I do now?

Hey Y'all,
I spent some time with Shutterfly a couple nights ago, putting together a photo book for my daughter's kindergarten teacher and successfully used both pieces of software that you're talking about.
On the export assistant software, you won't notice any difference in the export menu until you select your desired photos and hit "export" -- then a little window pops up and there will be a Shutterfly tab on the top far right. I just clicked that and hit export and worked like a charm. Perhaps I am stating the obvious and you're having some other problem???
On the upload assistant, exporting works in both Safari and Firefox, but the drag and drop feature will only work with Firefox. Also, this one you work from the Shutterfly site, rather than from within IPhoto. Again, sorry if I'm stating the obvious and this is all old news.
FYI, I'm using IPhoto 6.

  • I have a desktop iMac,within a yr old, I had iPhoto 9,downloaded to iPhoto 11, now lost my export to Shutterfly link, & looks like all my photos went to thumbnails, with poor resolution...help!!

I have a desktop iMac OSX 10.6.8, had iPhoto 9 & downloading software update to iPhoto 11, (9.1.5??) I can't find the way to reset up the "Export to Shutterfly mode" and it looks like all my previous photos went to a thumbnail size...with now poor resolution. If I would have know my pictures were going to turn into poor quality pictures, I never would have done the software update.  Need a real person to talk to. This complicated method is not user friendly.

  • IPhoto Export to Shutterfly broken

Is anyone able to use the shutterfly plug-in with iPhoto '08? If I go to File Export and click on Shutterfly nothing happens, and after doing so Export dialog won't appear again until I delete the plist file. On doing so Export works until I click the Shutterfly tab again. I tried reinstalling the plug-in, but no go. It looks like the new iPhoto '08 and Shutterfly are not compatible
    Thanks,
    Rebecca

have a problem (or 2) and questions: i have had no success in using the shutterfly plug-in with iphoto7.0 (or7.1) and read the discussions noting other people's problems...my initial problem was also that when i tried to export, nothing happened (no dialog box)...i reinstalled the shutterfly plug-in, restarted the computer and then the export dialog box DID come up..but without the export to shutterfly option...then i looked at the plug-ins and noticed i had fileexporter2 (only one), removed that and renamed it w/o the 2 and added it back in, still no luck, so renamed it again with the 2 (wanting to restore what i originally had) and put it backin the contents folder. my problem NOW is that (although i'm thinking shutterfly must update their plug in to solve the prob), my export dialog box does not have the "file export" option that i originally had when it comes up (although the fileexporter2 option is checked in the plug-ins area) - did i not install it back correctly? how do i get that file export option back in my dialog box? can anyone help or advise (shall i just reinstall the app?) --- thanks!

  • Exporting to Shutterfly problems

I am trying to export an album to Shutterfly and for some reason that album is not showing up in Shutterfly. I did it three time already and each time waited for all of the pictures to export. I got a pop up box saying that the process was done successfully, but when I log into my account at Shutterfly, the photos from iphoto are not there! Any ideas what's going wrong? Thanks!

Then you're using a plug-in for this job, as iPhoto doesn't do this without a plug in. I suggest you get in touch with the makers of the Plug-in. At a guess I'd say it's Shutterfly who make it - you can contact them here:

Alternatively: PictureSync also supports exporting to Shutterfly.

  • White balance, Export and shutterfly

I thought I was doing everything right with the holiday family shots: shot RAW, then corrected white balance as needed (often, cool them down slightly) in LR3.3 Develop.  A test print (color managed by LR) on my home inkjet looked just like on-screen, color-temp wise.  Then, to crank out a stack of 4x6s for family, I Exported jpgs (sharpened for glossy), and uploaded to Shutterfly (actually, Published them using a 3rd-party add-on).  The resulting prints from the lab are MUCH warmer than the test prints or screen.
OK, ok, you get what you pay for. But...before I blame one vendor and start trying others:  is this Shutterfly et al applying their own corrections? Or is there something I'm overlooking in the Export/Publish stage? TIFF vs JPGs?
This is NOT another "why aren't my prints like the screen" thread -- stuff is calibrated and my prints at home DO look like the on-screen image, thank you.
    TIA

Short answer: click lift tool, click photo to transfer from, uncheck adjustments you don't want stamped, click photo to transfer to.
    Longer answer:
    1. Click the lift tool
    2. Hover over a shot you want to copy anything from, and the cursor changes to an upward arrow. Click on the shot.
    3. The cursor now changes to a down arrow when over any picture, indicating that Stamp is active. Uncheck any adjustments or other info you do NOT want to stamp, and click on the photo. Checked adjustments will be stamped.
Make sure you choose Add or Replace in the popup to add or replace the adjustments you're stamping (this setting is usually only relevant to metadata for me).

  • Iphoto quits when exporting to shutterfly

    Hi, all!
I have the newest version of iPhoto and so had to reinstall my shutterfly plug in.  I did so and see the tab in the export menu.  However, when I try to export photos using the exporter, iPhoto unexpectedly quits.  Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?

Wild guess: the Shutterfly plug-in hasn't been updated for iPhoto 11. Check back with them and see if they have an up-to-date version.

  • When will recent upgrade from IPHOTO to PHOTO allow me to export pics to Shutterfly?

How can I export Photo pictures to Shutterfly? Recent Yosemite upgrade replaced IPhoto with Photo hat will not permit export to Shutterfly.

So there I am between a rock and a hard place, until Apple reinstate Batch Rename.

We posted  a few Apple Scripts in the User Tip section of this forum to help with batch changing. It is only a workaround, but can speed up things a little.  see this page:  User Tips (7)

You should check the shutterfly site for an updated plugin.

  • I'mtrying to upload my photos to shutterfly I've gone to file and export then the window gives me the option of file export webpage quicktime and slideshow .  on my macmini I have shutterfly on there also how do I get this on my new mac

I go to file and export then a window appears with file export, webpage, quicktime and slideshow.  On my mini I have shutterfly as an option and don't remember how to do it.  What do I do to input this info so that shutterfly becomes an option

    Hi Barbara
Are your photos in iPhoto or are you using some other Photo Software?
The latest version of iPhoto is a lot different than iPhoto 6 for example. In iPhoto 06 you could burn the Originals from your User Picture Folder using Finder, while in iPhoto 11 it is best to burn them from within the iPhoto Application.
Open iPhoto and select the Event(s) that you want to burn onto the CD, then select Share on the menu bar and click Burn in the drop down.

Then again, maybe you got a bad batch of blank CD's and need to try another?

  • IPhoto 08 and the missing Shutterfly button for exporting

Does any know what happened to the shutterfly button that was in iPhoto 06 for exporting, it seems to be gone in the 08 version???
Help my wife is giving me grief about upgrading to Leopard and iPhoto 08!!

If shutterfly has an export plugin for iPhoto '08 it typically would need to be installed from Shutterfly (it is not an Apple product) and then would appear as a tab in the file menu ==> export pager
Check out the Shutterfly page for iPhoto '08 (version 7.x.x) assistance

  • Shutterfly Export Assistant and iPhoto 6

Anyone have any word if the plug-in will be updated? I sent mail to Shutterfly's customer service, but thought someone else might know the answer already.
    Thanks,
    Rebecca

OK, silly me. The Export choice is now under the File menu. I tested the current plug-in after reinstalling and all works fine so far.

  • Shutterfly Export Assistant for Intel Macs

After successfully downloading/installing Shutterfly's Export Assistant plugin for iPhoto 6.0.5 I soon realized that the "Shutterfly" tab was missing from the iPhoto File/Export menu. Searching Apple's Discussions I found posts of Jan '06 that say that Shutterfly currently does not support this plugin for Intel Macs. In fact, one of the posts gave a link to a Shutterfly page (http://www.shutterfly.com/downloads/sys_req.jsp?sw=osx) which unfortunately states, "Note: New Macintosh computers using an Intel processor are not yet supported." Bummer. I sent email to Shutterfly requesting when their plugin will work. In the meanwhile, does anyone have current informtion that can be shared on this topic? Thanks!

Here is the response from Shutterfly on how to get their Shutterfly Export Assistant for iPhoto on Intel Macs to work. I personally haven't had time to try this yet but plan to soon.
    "Thank you for contacting Shutterfly.
We are sorry to hear that you have been having difficulties in using your plugin. We have heard from a few Mac customers that there are problems using the iPhoto plug-in on computers set up with multiple users. You can certainly try to use the plug-in, but be aware that it may only function for the main (root) user on the Mac by default.
To fix this, you need to go to the iphoto icon in applications, apple/click get info. go to the plug-in section, select the Shutterfly plug-in, click ownership and change it to everyone as opposed to a particular user. This will solve the problem.
Also please note that, there are two versions one for Intel Macs and one for Power PC Macs uninstall the one you currently have installed then reboot your computer go back and redownload the upload assistant and make sure you have the correct version for the processor your using. If you still find you are have these issues please give us a call at (800) 986-1065 and ask to be transferred to technical escalation so we can help you further. • Exporting photos to shutterfly

I'm trying to export pics from iPhoto to Shutterfly and keep getting this message.  Error: unable to retreive system proxy settings

I have discovered the answer for this issue on my computer.  The uploader needs to first read all of the images, so as others have pointed out, don't select any images at first, and click EXPORT.  Choose Shutterfly and ALL (yes all) of your pictures will populate.  Allow it to populate them and then click cancel.  Then, I selected the pictures in iPhoto I wanted (by holding down the command key) until I selected all that I wanted uploaded.  Select Export again, choose Shutterfly and you will now see just the photos you selected.  It allowed me then to upload to a NEW folder.  Hope this helps.

I have twice followed the directions on the shutterfly site -

. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin. It appears in my list of plugins and is checked when I go through the applications folder and get info on iPhoto. Still, when I select photos and click on export NOTHING happens - no tabs, no nothing. Suggestions?

I just got off the phone with Shutterfly tier 2 support and was told that the current Export Assistant for Intel Macs will not work with OS X version 10.4.8.
It seems to me that since 10.4.8 has been out way before the Intel compatible iPhoto Export Assistant for Shutterfly they might have tested it with the latest version of OS X. Also, there is no mention of compatability issues on the Shutterfly "Free Software" page, even though they are aware of the issue.
Additionally, the Shutterfly support pages only suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the plug-in, again with no mention of the fact that it does not work with the current version of OS X. Nice!
